W&W day 5: saw watches we cannot talk about
Nonsensical episode
whatever i write nick taken
Best BEST watch pod ever
Conversations with awesome people that love awesome stuff. It’s like being in the room with another group of best friends! So great.

No more Stephen Pulvirant
Hello, I’m a long time listener that has particularly enjoyed the last couple of years of content. I love how inclusive the content is with Time on Screen etc. Please, pretty please no more Stephen Pulvirant. Hey should return to where he came and leave the watch world alone. Kind Regards, Brad Crafton

Best American watch pod out there
Blake is a great host and I love his dynamic with the rotating cast of characters on the pod. They do a great job of covering a wide range of brands with a non-biased approach that is often missing in this category. Keep up the good work guys!

Great listen
It’s like being around a campfire with friends talking about watches

Good content but ooof.
I like the scope of the show I never missed an episode for maybe a year but jeez guys. The “uhhhh” every 3-5 seconds is unbearable. Again great content, normal guys that are relatable; I want to listen but my brain won’t let me. It feels similar to when your talking to someone and they say “like” 20-30 times per minute.

Unlistenable
Stop smacking your lips in the mic. No one watch’s to listen to your spit

Sound Quality is Meh
Great pod but needs much better sound quality.

Don’t miss an episode
Consistently a great podcast. If you love watches you should never miss an episode.

Keep it real!
Thank you worn and wound. I’ve had a tough time finding a watch podcast that was not catered to simply high end luxury watches or marketing of micro brands. I used to enjoy other watch podcasts but found them either immature in both language and condescending behavior. Not everyone is a a trust fund New Yorker or Asian millionaire shopping boutiques. Some of us just love watches low, mid, and high-tiered. Also, loved the conversation with the Tenn and Two ladies who closed with “wear what you love” Keep it up!

Nice dialog
I really liked the content of the shows, but it could be better if they had links to different watches mentioned in the show. It really helps when the links are organized by time mentioned in the show and helps a listener follow the discussion.

Good content, inaudible hosts
I have been listening to the Worn & Wound podcast for a long time and have enjoyed their content. The reviews and topics are often salient and entertaining for watch enthusiasts and they frequently have good guests. Unfortunately the sound mixing is terrible, with the hosts being extremely quiet while guests speak at normal expected volume. Since Blake Buettner became the host, this has gotten more noticeable and distracting as his vocal fry and volume drops render him inaudible. Zach Weiss is also similarly soft spoken but still audible, while Zach Kazan is the only one who remains audible through the whole podcast. The gain really needs to be turned up on their microphones and Blake needs to try to speak up and maintain louder volumes instead of swallowing his words. This is maddening and detracts from an otherwise solid podcast.

Better before
New host is hard to hear. He drops in and out. Idk if it's a technical issue but it's very hard to understand.

Could Be So Good...
I really want to rate this podcast higher, as I think the content is actually pretty good. It’s just... a few things... that really, over time, start to bother the listener to the point where the content is lost and one is just left thinking what could have been. I’m not sure if it’s an audio leveling issue or just a breathing/vocal habit, but Blake Beuttner’s voice becomes quite distracting over time. His voice has a tendency to fade quickly and then recover with his next breath. It becomes an issue as you can’t hear what he’s saying at times and then when you do, it’s sudden/jerky. It’s very distracting. And as the others speak (both Zachs), you can actually hear the loud clicking and scrolling of someone’s mouse. Again, it becomes so distracting so quickly that it detracts from the actual conversation.

You guys “kind of” listen to TGN too much “you know”

Much Improved!
I’ve been a listener since the first show aired. The show has come a long way since then. A must subscribe for anyone interested in watches. Thanks for the content and thanks for the hard work!

Question
“Guys, longtime fan of the show, but where is Ilya?!?”
Jen NV
Um um um
Great show but please take a deep breath and pay attention to all the “fillers.” 10 um um ums in one sentence (Zach with the lower voice) makes what is a good show otherwise unbearable.

Relatable
Good podcast with relatable hosts, guests, and content. It’s nice to hear and learn about smaller or independent brands that the average person can actually afford.

More!
Great website! Great vision! Awesome content! If I’m being selfish...I’d love to see more and more content from worn and wound. As HODINKEE enters into its next phase (commercialization and not an indictment) worn and wound remains a pillar in that layman’s approach to great watch collecting to include luxury pieces while also capturing the enthusiasm of sub 1000.00 watch collectors.

A fun, informative show
This is a great podcast if you love watches or want to learn about them: the hosts come across as very approachable, there is a variety of perspectives covered, and the topics are broad within the scope of watches. The recent discussions with ADs have been particularly interesting.

I would’ve given 5 Stars on this, but voice (tone, cadence, delivery) is such an integral part of podcasting. It might sound simple but there’s nothing to see, smell, taste or feel so sound is 100% of what podcasts rely on. Like the saying goes, ‘they have a face for radio’, a similar phrase for radio should be- ‘they have a voice for newspaper’. I really do love the interviews had with guests. They might not be pulling in big names like the showy Hodinkee Radio or as adventurous/ruff hewn as TGN, but W&W finds super interesting people in the industry and goes to work. Reason for a 4 Star review and not 5 Stars: I was excited to hear a woman’s voice as a breathe of fresh air on a couple episodes ago, but that was a one time deal. Shame, she brought an interesting perspective from a massively underrepresented faction of the watch market. So we have yet another podcast with two white dudes. Full transparency- I am straight, white male, but I find lack of diversity to be a major roadblock in the enthusiast watch space moving forward and existing years for come. Reason for a 3 Star Review and not 4 Stars: I don’t mean any disrespect and this doesn’t come from a place of negativity or malice, it is truly my opinion from having listened to thousands of podcasts- Zach’s voice is a dud. There’s zero passion, but lacking any sort of dry sense of wit to be considered cagey. His articles and photographs are fantastic. Seriously, there’s a real gift there. But when placed next to Ilya, who’s love for watches comes through crystal clear, it just sounds like Zach is forced to be there. A voice is all we get in our headphones, and the dread is overpowering during the whole experience. I will keep on listening, because the topics are very interesting and I can tell a lot of hard work is put into making this program. This is just a review.

down to earth
these guys are more relatable and less stuffy than hodinkee. don’t get me wrong i love hodinkee but w&w just seems like a cooler bunch of folks that don’t take themselves and the hobby of watch collecting too seriously, in the best way possible.

Fantastic
I really enjoy this pod cast. The people are relatable and when you don’t have a lot of money to drop on watches these guys talk about tangible pieces that I can get excited about. They seem to give honest opinions and are a great listen

Interesting Sidenotes to Watch Brands (Ya Know)
Very passionate about watches and brands from a fashion standpoint (often talking about visuals/wearability). Good lord do they love filler words (um, literally, sort of, like, you know) but whatever how many people are putting out discussions on watches?

Worn and wound review
Never have I heard so many like yeah, you know, kind of yeah, like, kind of thing, they sound like a pair of totally inarticulate high school dope heads. Pathetic, learn to speak and articulate English.

Great show with a variety of interesting topics
I really enjoy the interviews with the people that make watches...gives a better insight into what it takes to bring a dream to life. The nice thing is that it isn't just all interviews...sometimes it is questions from listeners, personal thoughts on collecting, adressing specific watch topics (patina, vintage watches, etc). Great variety and really enjoyable show to listen to. Highly recomend it if you like the site...

On a bit of a decline recently
5 stars before Allen. The dude is a bit pretentious, verbose, and reeks of self-importance. These are adjectives I do not associate with worn and wound.

Fantastic!
Awesome topics, interesting conversation every time!

Best watch podcast for the casual watch geek
Podcast takes a causal approach to various topics while not being disorganized or not containing meaningful content. Each episode thus far has been full of great reviews and good opinions about aesthetic and technical merits of watches without writing many brands and models off due to watch snobbery.

Fantastic for watch enthusiasts
This is a fantastic podcast talking about all things watches. The speakers are knowledgeable and creative and the show is awesome!

Very well done
I'm skeptical of a lot of watch websites and podcasts from younger folks. There is so much history and tradition that often gets overlooked. These guys get it. And it doesn't hurt that they have Allen around, too. Don't tell the others, but you're my favorite.

The best watch-related podcast out there
It’s always a pleasure to listen to the W&W podcast. What sets this podcast apart from the other watch-related podcasts are the people. Zach, Ilya, Blake, and more recently Allen speak like your friends/colleagues and really know what they’re talking about. They’re not pretentious like a lot of other watch blogs out there. Keep up the good work guys!

Show notes...
Wish the show notes would contain links to the things your talking about, similar to TGN. Otherwise such a good show! Keep it up!

Excellent content and execution
Just a really indulgent time in the week when I can catch up horology stuff of interest be in info from Baselworld Trade show or vignettes about watch collecting, this podcast is elegant and easy to listen to. It’s a nice watch to complement the plethora of watch video channels out there on YouTube. There’s something inherently relaxing about their chats while I listen along with my iPad to see what watches they reference. Enjoy.

Great Podcast
Thank you for your great work on the podcasts. I’ve just listened to your interview with Dan Henry for the second time and enjoyed it as much as the first. Your depth of knowledge in watches is truly incredible. I learn something new with each podcast. I especially like to hear about micro brands that are worthy options for those who can’t spend big bucks. I would like to hear more casts about GMT’s. I’ve noticed that there are not many brands that feature gmt’s, is there a reason for that? It seems Chronograph get the most attention. I just purchased a 2015 Glycine Double Twelve and love the look and feel of the watch. Thanks again for a great job! I’ll continue to look forward to future podcasts.

The best for watches
Just like their website, the worn and wound team have succeeded in bringing their enthusiasm for watches and fresh perspective on the industry to a podcast format. They cut through the hype and bring a voice that emphasizes real value, originality, and focus on design. Although you won't find as much discussion of super-high-end watches, you will find ample discussion of the kinds of value-driven, approachable, yet artfully-executed timepieces that seem most relevant to our increasingly casual culture. if you enjoy their website, the podcast will satisfy as well.

W&W - Time Well Spent
I was looking for a good podcast about watches, my latest passion. I found it here. These guys cover a lot of ground - appreciating the finest horological timepieces - and digging reasonably priced watches from all over the world. I've learned quite a few things listening to the podcast - I'm always entertained for the 40-50mins of each episode. They keep the discourse on topic, interesting, professional, and the whole is edited/produced professionally. I look forward to each new episode.

These guys are great
Great work on this series guys! Love listening to the W&W team cover topics and answer questions. This podcast offers an interesting perspective on watches that often get less attention from others. It's both entertaining and informative.

True watch experts...
A more casual setting for the Worn & Wound guys means that they can talk about anything they darn well please. This means the podcasts will likely be very timely with what is going on in the watch world and not single product reviews. Imagine sipping a beer with your best watch collecting buds who have great opinions plus deep horological knowledge, and that is what this podcast is like. I am looking forward to more in the future.

Congrats on new podcast!
Great job on your first episode, guys! Looking forward to more. Since I'll never ever be able to afford the kinds of watches they talk about on Hodinkee and ABlogToWatch, I'm glad there are people like you who cater to more affordable brands. One tiny piece of constructive criticism--the word "haute" in Haute Horologie is pronounced like "oat" (or at least it should be, since that's how it's pronounced in French!). :)
