Good guests
He gets a variety of musician guests and they have interesting conversations . The one negative is this is geared to audiophiles but the interviews sound like they were recorded over a speakerphone.

A podcast for record collectors
I knew a podcast centered around record collecting had to exist, and this is it. Great guests and a great host.

I learn something every show
Great guests tell amazing stories. You learn the back story of their life and what went into their music on a personal and technical basis. Best vinyl podcast around. Thanks Nate!

Best Record Podcast!
If you love to spin records, this podcast is for you. Lots of great back interviews, and Nate always brings up record questions with these musicians. Good stuff.

Consistently 5 Stars
This is the perfect podcast for record nerds. Nate asks all the questions we record collectors would ask these interviewees if given the chance. That said, you do NOT need to be a record nerd or even own a turntable to enjoy this show! The interviews are great, record talk aside. You can absolutely enjoy this show even if you’re one of those “they still make those?!?” people.

The Vinyl guide is one of my favorite music related pods!
Nate gets great guests and asked great questions. He's also a great listener and let's guests share their stories with very little interuption. Other podcast hosts could learn from him. I just listened to the Angels/Angel City episode and it did not disappoint. Now its time to search out some Angel City records on vinyl besides Face to Face. Cheers Nate and thanks for all you do!

Best music & record show
I’m a professional musician and life-long LP collector and I can say without a doubt this is my favorite music podcast! Nate asks the most thoughtful questions and I always learn something new and exciting which I can’t wait to share with my music nerd friends. The deep archive is open to search and I love digging back through episodes I missed. A must listen!

If you’re into music and especially vinyl, this show is a must!
Nate Goyer does a super job of cultivating great topics that any music fan can appreciate. He produces an excellent podcast filled with nooks and crannies of insightful information. His interviews with performers and music-related folk are always a joy to listen to. The music and vinyl community is blessed to have Nate and his Vinyl Guide podcast. Thank you, Nate!!

Disrespectful
I used to listen to this. Then I heard the Daryl Jennifer episode and I felt it was not researched at all and disrespectful to Daryl. Daryl is a legend in hardcore punk. To not put in the work and be prepared is disrespectful.

Joel Selvin
Nate, Joel Selvin was in the top five of best interviews ever on your show and I’ve heard them all. Please bring Joel back for more and thanks.

The best!
Came for the deep dives on DC scene punk classics and stayed for everything else. Nate has an infectious enthusiasm for all types of music and I always learn something. Take a break from the awful details of the real world and reconnect with music.

A vinyl lover’s DREAM
Nate is hands-down THE best interviewer I’ve ever heard. Strikes a perfect balance between focus on the live of vinyl and collecting and digging deep into the artists behind those LPs we all love so much. Every episode is absolute joy. Cannot recommend The Vinyl Guide enough; if you love rekkids, this is your new home.

yuck
there's some odiously toxic copaganda in the latest episode, apropos of nothing. no wonder their patreon numbers are so low. i'm never listening again

“Twickenham” not “Twicking Ham” - Grrrr
Nice episode on Let it Be, but jeez, what’s with the “Twicking Ham”?

Killer podcast, wish I’d found it years earlier.
My local shop owner (Dillon @ Noble Records) mentioned this podcast a few months back and wow, I’ve been missing out. I’ve burned through the first 50 episodes and have to say, Nate does an exceptional job keeping the interviews equally informative and entertaining. I’ve been collecting for years and have added a dozen records to my ‘want list’ since discovering the podcast. Cheers Nate, keep it up!

Great podcast with great interviews
Nate gets some great interviews and gets artists to show off their record-nerd sides. It’s really fun to hear how musicians and producers think about their own material from that perspective and to hear which albums got them into collecting. I especially love hearing about rare records and the differences in pressings or album art.

Unbelievable Guests
I’ve been listening to this podcast for several years now and I’m always amazed at the guests Nate gets from the punk scene. Also, as a Beatles fan those are great episodes and I learn a ton. I think the only thing I can say negative is the way Nate says “Patreon”, hahaha.

Yeah.
This is a good podcast. I’ve recommended it to friends. Love the metal and punk content

The Ian Mccaye episodes
Obviously Ian is in a mood to talk here- in a good mood - I learned a lot here Much respect for just letting him talk and lead him into all these vinyl related topics

Can’t believe the content!!!
I’ve just gotten back into Vinyl after a couple decades away. Growing up my father had over 5k LPs in his collection and spanned everything from Aerosmith to Zappa.... and I mean EVERYTHING! A normal Saturday morning might sound like - Cosmic Debris -> Do Fries go with that Shake -> Wish you were here -> Layla -> Freezeframe etc! This podcast has been a wonderful help in my relaunch - 1 week in and I have binged on about 20 episodes so far! Keep up the amazing content !!!

Port of sound episode
I’m sad you didn’t get to talk to Greg at port of sound....but the interview was great anyway! I miss my record store, and those late hours. Absolutely the ONLY place to go for RSD

Well produced. The host is articulate and knowledgeable. The guests are interesting too. Vernon Reid’s and Beto O’Rourke’s interviews are thought-provoking.

What are you spinning?
A great show about artists new and old and their vinyl history as well as their future. Nate is a great host and brings his interesting sense of humor to the discussions.

All types of music lovers welcome...
I am not someone who collects records for value, I simply value what music does for me. Nate covers material for all kinds on his show. Love cataloging and tracking down valuable rarities? You’ll find material for you here. Like hearing bits anecdotes about your favorite musician’s work from the people that were there? Plenty for you. Love music and being exposed to your latest fix you didn’t know you needed? It’s here too. An excellent production with a personable host. Highly recommended.

Enjoying your interviews Nate!
I am a female Zappa fan and I am really loving your interviews with the former band members and the family. You are entertaining and uplifting. I am an ex vinyl collector and have just kept almost all my Zappa and a few more of my other favorite artists. I enjoy your passion for the vinyl! Thanks!

I tried
I’m leaving a 5 star review because I haven’t given this podcast a real chance, so I don’t want to be unfair. I searched for vinyl related podcasts, found this one, and started listening to episode 100 as it’s the highest rated and I love Henry Rollins. That being said, I couldn’t even get all the way through the intro. The hosts voice sounds like he’s trying so hard to sound like a radio DJ and everything seems so overproduced. The corny sound effects just kill me too. Sorry. I’m sure the content is fantastic and from the other reviews it seems to be very well researched and have good info, but I just can’t engage.
