Jerry Saltz is what sold me!
I found the podcast by searching “Jerry Saltz”. I was not disappointed. The interview was really great. I really appreciated how the interviewers let Jerry speak at length. Jerry is such a special, unique person and it drives me crazy when interviewers interrupt him and step all over his words. Can’t wait to listen to more episodes of this podcast!

Great!
I just listened to my first episode and will give more episodes a listen as I really enjoyed it!

Excellent show!
Found this podcast as I was browsing, and it was my lucky day! I’ve enjoyed every episode so far. The hosts voices have enjoyable pace, tones and pacing, and I enjoy listening to the meaning of what they are saying as it relates to their lives and the topics they are covering. Thank you!!

Boring
How to talk to anyone. This episode was super dull. It’s the only episode I listened to, but honestly - let’s talk about the weather and, using the bathroom break to end conversation at a party. Not exactly ground breaking.

Love you guys! But..
This is petty, I’m aware. But your intro music is so LOUD AND BEEEP BEEP and ANNOYING! Lol. Please find something else. It sounds so cheap. Anyway overall, your content is sweet. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents.

The Upgrade Brightens My WFH Life
Topics and interviews are handled with warmth and humor that bring out the best in the hosts and guests alike. I love the tips offered at the end of episodes! They are so personal, well considered, and guileless.

One of my favorite podcasts!!
I love this podcast, fun bite size ideas and interviews that I can enjoy while driving or pottering around the house. I’m a big fan of podcasts and surf many but The Upgrade is one of a staples I listen to regularly! Enjoy the hosts’ sense of humor too and have taken many many tips on board for my own life! Keep up the great work :)

Only for Dems...sadly
This episode on rudeness assumes that I as a Republican apparently must tolerate being called deplorable and stupid (or racist) by your candidate but your side is unable to go on with life under trump 🙄seriously obtuse you all You are can teach yourself how to not respond -it’s called growing up. Ask your mother

Some issues
I like this podcast for the most part, but... 1. I miss Melissa. There is no chemistry with these temp hosts. 2. Some of the science-y episodes seem... pseudoscience-y. I kind of think it’s a little irresponsible to state that breathing through your nose will reduce your chance of getting Corona virus.

This show itself is an upgrade!
I have a daily podcast routine, and The Upgrade has become a staple in that routine. I’m currently working my way through the archives and there’s just so. much. to. learn. If you’re looking for a new lifestyle podcast, this is it! ❤️

Useful, inspiring info
Loving this podcast. Great insights and advice from experts. My only criticism is the annoying intro music. Otherwise fantastic!

Love
I randomly found this podcast and I started the career change episode. I’m wanting to leave my 8 plus year career in banking and become a teacher. The episode gave me so much inspiration. I downloaded 11 other episodes that I’m so excited to listen to in the future 😊.

Best chemistry in podcasting
Neither of the cohosts are allowed to leave the show. All of podcasting would whither and die if the dream team got broken up.

Just gorgeous
Discovered these gems this morning during my train commute. I wasn’t even looking, but it was just what I needed. The textures and overlays are just emotionally and spiritually gorgeous Thank you. Ms. M.

Great discussion, always
Beyond the great and thoughtful topics, the conversation between the hosts and their guests is always so genuine, even when they disagree on their end-takes about a given subject. So many great perspectives go into this podcast, and they’re all valuable.
Hell and fun
Easily one of my favorite podcasts
It feels like everybody says this but I’m not one to leave reviews, normally. However I chose to do so because I LOVE this podcast. Everything about it. I love the array of topics covered, the hosts and their relaxing voices, the way they work off each other compared to some podcasts where it’s all bickering, etc. I highly recommend it. It helps me get through many miles of walking.

My fave podcast
I am learning about things I didn’t even know I wanted to know about lol. The hosts crack me up and I feel that they are so relatable. Each episode I can easily take away at least one nugget of wisdom that I can use towards my everyday life. A light hearted laugh of a listen that you feel smarter after listening to. Highly recommend.

Great podcast, just too political
I enjoy this podcast, I just wish it would try to stay away from the politics. Both hosts have an obvious political leaning, and I wish I could enjoy a form of entertainment without hearing political opinions.

Love this podcast!
This podcast makes me laugh every time, but I also learn a lot that is helpful.

The Best Podcast. No Really. It is.
This is the best podcast. Good content. Researched. Good experts. Great and practical topics that really matter versus abstract crap. Consistently good. Hosts don’t get in the way of guests. I’ve listened to podcasts for years. This is my first review. Just. That. Good. Thank you!

My favorite
This is my favorite podcast! It is easy listening and I’ve found something helpful in each episode even if I didn’t think that I would relate to a certain topic.

Career advice for the already comfortable
Occasionally interesting, but much like Lifehacker in general, the podcast’s advice is functionally useless if you’re not already making $50k+. Really wish they would diversify their editorial position and try speaking to a broader audience.

This was my first podcast - Awesome
"How to Tell if You’re Dying" This was great. Instead of worrying about every single symptom, do something that positively impacts your health (Walking, running, any exercise).

Keep making Upgrades!
Listening to Melissa and Alice during my morning commute is the best! They always make me laugh and the content is sharp, informative, and relevant.

Everything you'd ever want in a podcast
I feel completely at home here - bowled over by brilliant advice, nourishing conversations (w/ a healthy dose of full on belly laughs). HIGHLY recommend listening and subscribing to The Upgrade if you're interested in a light-hearted approach to exploring your personal and professional evolution & development.

I knew I loved Lifehacker. I didn’t know it was possible to love a podcast just as much.

Love this podcast!
Melissa and Alice are wonderful hosts and I love all the self-help and life tips. It’s inspired me to improve on habits that I wasn’t even thinking about.

A Lifesaver!
I was recently injured and needed something to take me out of my self pity and to feel that I’ve accomplished something while lying on side all day. Tried many podcasts. This one is the first that’s really helped. I’m listening to a bunch of past episodes and can’t wait for more. They’re often funny and packed with little helpful tips and some big possibly life changing advice. I only wish I could find a list of sources such as book recommendations and stuff. Maybe when I can use the internet more they may have that posted somewhere. Thanks for creating this!

Loving this podcast
I found this podcast through Apple’s New Year recommendations and I’m so glad I did. It’s smart, tightly edited, helpful and fascinating. Great interviews. I’ll be sorry when I’ve binged all the episodes and have to wait for them.

Informative podcast with a pleasant delivery
This is the perfect podcast. The team comes across as intelligent yet unpretentious. They tackle interesting topics you’ve probably read a headline about somewhere recently or spent time pondering yourself.

Why the Fat Shaming?
I love a good happiness-hack as much as the next person, but after just a few episodes, I can see that the hosts and guests are deepy fat-phobic and committed to white patriarchal body ideals. I suggest talking to Sonya Renee Taylor over at The Body is Not an Apology as a way to open your eyes to the violence and bigotry you're espousing. I shouldn't have to tell you that I'm just as worthy at 300 pounds as I was when I was thinner.

Love This Show!
The hosts are incredibly fun, funny, informative, inciteful and pleasant to listen to. The show covers a wide range of topics that have ultimately helped me improve my life one episode at a time. From dating tips, to harnessing creativity and even biohacking - I always find this show to be a joyful, useful listen. The editing is great and I think the show's new format is great! Keep up the great work and I hope you do a live show soon! Would love to go to that!

One of my favorites, and only getting better
I love this podcast. The hosts are smart and funny, and the new format is working for me. It's fun. They're trying something new, in thr true spirit of Lifehacker. Plus thie podcast just sounds great. Very good production values.

Don’t like the new format
I don’t like the new format with lots of little segments. Tnere is another lifehacker podcast with short segments. The advantage to this podcast was that the topics were more in depth. I used to give this 5 stars but am lowering it to 2 stars because the information is much less useful to me.

Go back to the old format
I am disappointed with the new and not improved format of The Upgrade. The long form interviews were interesting and informative. Rather than devote air time to "bad hacks" (who the hell cares about a phone coffee maker?) and other inane stuff, go back to the in-depth interviews.

Love the personal upgrades at the end
Really enjoy the interplay between the hosts and the guests. I especially enjoy when everyone shares their upgrades at the end...sometimes simple, sometimes profound, always enjoyable.

Decent show
The audio quality people are complaining about is not a real issue. They record well. While the information they cover on the topics is interesting, too often the hosts’ personal experience eclipses it and is not truly in-depth for listeners who want scientific evidence. The hosts tend to get caught in loops talking about each other, which is also a little distracting. Other than that, it’s pretty informative and quirky.

I look forward to every new show
Love the casual way the material is presented, it's always intriguing -- even subjects that on the surface don't hold much interest -- I'm always introduced to the material in an engaging and interesting way. Never dry, never dull. Thanks for spicing up my week!

Used to be better
This was awesome when it was a man and woman host as they brought 2 different viewpoints. Now, its just 2 woman who can be funny at times, but mostly are very annoying and talk too much. Get to the guest quicker and let them talk, please!
