Highly recommend!!
These stories are told by a true story teller! I appreciate that his approach is to see all sides and angles of possible outcomes and suspects.

Brad was Brazen! Definitely a salesman who is still selling his story. Also if it wasn’t just for the money, them why sue? He had plenty. I’m sure the most of us have had someone look us in the eye to proclaim their innocence. And there are the key words, he surrounded his self with only positive of a posse . She had the work group policy too. No credit cards ever used? Bingo!

Well researched
I think for the most part it’s pretty well researched, but I’ll be honest his voice can get a little tiring. I mean if you want to fall asleep, that would be perfect. He should switch to nighttime readings to help you fall asleep, and I would definitely listen. I don’t listen to him when I’m driving down the road for fear of falling asleep.

Robin’s Voice Should Be a Government Weapon
His voice makes a human’s ear bleed. Holy cow. Who is encouraging this guy to make podcasts? For Seinfeld fans, he has the exact same voice as the Rabbi who tried to hit on Elaine. Only worse. And the actor playing the Rabbi was playing it for laughs. Robin is serious. Can’t do it. I switched to Trace Evidence where the host has a melodic tone, understands plurals and possessives, and does intense research. Maybe Robin should listen to a few great podcasts before he attempts to foist his mangled attempt on the public.

Sorry
I’ve tried this podcast twice but can’t get past the strange cadence with which the host delivers the stories.

Great and well prepared!
Found this podcast after watching reruns of Unsolved Mysteries. Podcaster offered more info than UM and had obviously done quite a bit of research. Message boards rabbit holes, anyone? Thoughtful and calm narration. New follower!

Well researched
Interesting cases. But voice coaching needed. The sing- song character and some squeaking with high tones is distracting.

Awesome!
I’ve been listening to this podcast for awhile and I think it’s well put together. I’m amazed at how many cold cases there are out there and that they’re not forgotten because of podcasts like this one. I enjoy listening to Robin’s ideas and opinions and i think he does it in a way that’s respectful to all involved in each case. He says he’s NOT an expert in forensics or crime solving in any way, but he does well in providing facts. There are a lot of negative comments about his voice and the way he narrates, while I agree he isn’t the best, it’s really not that bad.

Tries Hard But Sometimes Fumbles
I randomly binge a few episodes of this pod every several months. I usually like the cases covered, and I think the host cares about accurate reporting although he tends to omit known, relevant details. He also says things that hurt his credibility and/or general knowledge about which he speaks. For example, he uses cause and manner of death interchangeably. I’m not sure if he gets them confused or doesn’t realize they are two separate things. Overall, it’s ok to listen to when you run out of your go-to pods.

Well researched
The content is always interesting and I actually like the narrator’s voice. He really does a deep dive on each episode.

Came back to try again, still NOPE.
I'd found this podcast a few years ago and while I really think the research and writing are solid, I just cannot get past the host's voice and delivery. There's bizarrely fluctuating and delivered high notes that are almost a squeal of excitement. There's a cadence that's choppy and...odd. It's jarring as a listener, and so weird for a true crime podcast - a narrator that sounds like he'd be perfect for Sesame Street? Reading through other reviews, it's clear the host has gotten this feedback a million times over, but still hasn't sought out a vocal coach? It's the one thing that's holding this podcast back from being a top contender in the true crime category, and it's such an easy fix that I can't understand why Robin doesn't seek some help. I guess I'll try again in a few more years and see if he makes some changes?

Can be annoying
He makes opinions as if he has some superiority over us.

Voice sounds like a Sesame Street character
Voice seems better for a children’s reading at a library

Still a no from me.
Came back hoping some of the constructive criticism had at least been appreciated & changes made accordingly, that is not the case. Come on! Robin needs vocal coaching or just a new host, it’s still unbearable. I tried.

Good but 3 minor problems
I like the show and the format even if I disagree with Robin’s opinions on cases sometimes. I’m a long time listener and will continue to listen for as long as Robin produces episodes. The first thing that irks about the podcast is when he covers extremely old cases that have absolutely no chance of being solved whatsoever. All the information is always terribly reported because of the shoddy police work and poor journalism at the time and rest of it is based on hearsay. It just doesn’t make for a good podcast episode. Also, I don’t really see the point in covering cases that can’t ever be solved because isn’t the point of the podcast to highlight lesser known unsolved cold cases in hopes that the right person could be listening? These extremely old cases also are no where near as memorable as a episodes about cases within the last 40-50 years. I know Robin finds enjoyment in these cases but I just thought I’d put my two cents in as a listener. The other thing I think Robin needs to work on is that he seems to stereotype the American south a lot as if it’s still the 1960’s down there even if the case’s time period is far removed from segregation. I’m guessing this is because he’s Canadian and hasn’t spent any or a lot of time down there. It’s just something to think about. EDIT- DUDE JUST BECAUSE A VICTIM IS BLACK OR GAY DOES NOT MEAN IT’S POTENTIALLY A HATE CRIME.

Love the collabs
But why does Sean sound like a kidnapper calling to ask for ransom! I must listen to his podcast to find out more about this voice 🤣🤣

The Voice is Sing-Songy!
The show is well researched, but he HAS to find a replacement narrator. He must hear this constructive criticism often. I’m not typically sensitive to voices and sound, but I cannot listen anymore.

Wil Hendrick Cold Case
I am Wil Hendrick’s oldest sister, Becky. Thank you Robin Warner for the extensive research done on this Podcast. You have had the most correct information of any of the podcasts done on Wil’s case.

Enjoyable
It seems wrong to call a TC podcast enjoyable, but that’s how I feel. Robin does a lot of research and I especially appreciate hearing the stuff that Unsolved Mysteries left out or got wrong. He doesn’t dwell on the gory aspects of the crimes, but gives the factual information of what happened I also like how he will occasionally throw in an episode that updates cases he has covered with any new developments.

Great Podcast
I like Robin as a narrator this is probably my second favorite podcast behind Trace Evidence but i like how Robin is consistent with the weekly episodes and seems to enjoy doing this podcast I’ve sent him a few cases and i hope to hear one on his podcast soon he does a good job at explaining each case and he seems to go straight to the point on most of the cases he does.

True cold cases
Remember some from Unsolved Mysteries! Been enjoying this podcast!

This guy sounds like a demented ghoul.
It would not be shocking to me if this dude was some day arrested for the kind of crime he so gleefully describes.

Your work
Y’all are a comfort to me as I try to go to sleep each night. I know you are there working hard for justice for the victims. In my spirit, I am there with y’all , hoping for the best. God bless your work and your sacrifices that are made so that victims have justice and families have peace.

Outstanding
Robin is such a great host and carefully crafts the content.

Great Coverage
Robin does a tremendous job covering cases where sometimes there really isn’t much information to go on. To those who criticize his voice for being too high I am truly flabbergasted. It’s his voice, go listen elsewhere if you don’t like it.

Steady and Reliable
I listen to a lot of TC pods but Robin Warder’s The Trail Went Cold is one of a few that I never miss and never tire of. His cases are so well researched. One of the best.

Loved Unsolved Mysteries
And I love this podcast. His research is thorough and unbiased.

I’ve tried….really.
I listened to several episodes of this a couple of years ago and while I found the stories interesting, I couldn’t get past the hosts voice and style of delivery. So, I stopped listening. Since then, I’ve read and heard glowing reviews and comments about it so today, I decided to give it a go again. I lasted 4 minutes. Maybe it’s me. Maybe it’s not. Regardless, I can’t get past the oddly positive almost cheerful telling of these tragic tales. The voice is unsettling. Is it the accent? Who knows. But, I’ve decided that I can’t get past it long enough to becoming invested in the actual stories. So, 3 stars for content.

TTWC took me a while to get into. After really loving TPWC I came back here and have been binging ever since!

My favorite podcast
Maybe it’s something about Robin’s voice or maybe it’s the format, but this podcast is so relaxing for me. It’s my go to podcast when I hit the sack and want to wind down for bed. ..and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Almost through all 300+ episodes :)

Trail Went Cold Valerie Percy
Great analysis- found this show searching for podcasts since live half a mile from the murder scene. Only gripe is Charles Percy was a US senator, not state senator. So yeah it was a big deal.

Love it!
I started listening to the podcast along with my other true crime pod casts. I enjoy the way the stories are told and details and research that go into each story. I recently became the highest tier member on Patreon when I found out that he loves Unsolved Mysteries and incorporated them so much in extras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is worth $10/month for me!!!!!!! I grew up on Unsolved Mysteries and never knew why someone didn’t turn them into pod cast! So excited! And I love the Canadian accent! I catch myself sitting at my desk working and listening and then repeating a word…like “about” lol. Def my fav pod cast!!!!!! I was also reading up on the pod caster and he wrote for list verse and that is seriously one of my favorite sites! No wonder I’m so drawn to this!!!! Ignore the negative reviews.

The Trail Went Cold
The possessive plural of boy is boys’. It is not boys’s , as it was pronounced multiple times in episode 307.

Awful narration
Why does this narrator sound so gleeful reporting on these cases? I want to hear the stories of the missing people but I can’t get past the terrible terrible narration. You don’t need to sound grim but I find this narration to lack a sense of empathy and gravity given the stories being related.
pixelcat13
Odd tone
Host is oddly upbeat for a podcast about missing individuals. Lots of wild speculation with no evidence to back it up. There are much better versions of what this pod is trying to do.

Excellent podcast!
I see a lot of negative reviews about his voice being too high, but that’s insane to me. I find his voice soothing and I’m really glad he doesn’t force a spooky vibe to his episodes. He just lets the cases speak for themselves. Additionally, I find the research to be excellent and overall, and I find every episode both entertaining and informative.
joeyb
Hope it improves
I started on this podcast today and I always start at the oldest episodes. I would give 5 stars but the lip smacking is annoying. If they lip smacking goes away then I will change my rating to 5 stars.
matrixie73
Lazy
The host basically summarizes unsolved mysteries episodes and repeats everything all over in the 2nd half. He doesn’t even make the effort to share the contact info for reporting a tip! He just says “contact the appropriate authorities.” It’s just not what I would call critical thinking.
LPZMA
Well researched
It’s so nice when a new episode comes out. I enjoy listening while doing jobs around home or at work. The format is interesting & I enjoy your voice. Actually the voice really enhances a podcast. Thank you

How is it possible to be so nasally yet high pitched?
Great stories, great research, but the reading is hard to listen to. Let me know when there’s a new narrator.
peter heater 123
Is this for real?
I can get past the host’s naturally high pitch voice, but the problem is how he forces himself to hit “notes” much higher than his already high and thin voice, to the point his voice is about to crack every other sentence … I actually laughed a little initially coz I thought he was being dramatic on purpose… but then 15 mins into the show I finally realized he was going to do this for the entire episode… Why? Who told him t do this? The writing may be solid though. Please don’t force yourself to speak like this… even monotone is better.

For mystery fans! Great format
As a longtime fan of Unsolved Mysteries, I love finding out more about the cases I remember from my childhood.

Great Podcast!
Robin does such a great job of researching each case to those little known cases. And he’s such a sweet guy!

Love the stories, struggle with the narration
I enjoy the episodes so much…..when I’m able to get through them. But it’s difficult to listen to the entire episode because the dear narrator has a peculiar habit whilst speaking. His voice starts off at an even pitch/tone with each new sentence but then quickly elevates as he continues speaking. Not that I’m advocating for a monotone….but maybe if he could strive for a more even-toned approach…? I hate to be critical. It’s just distracting and a bit irritating. I’m sorry!

Diving into Mysteries and cold cases
Highly recommend this podcast! The host does a great job diving into untold mysteries. So interesting, I truly enjoy
Bobbalaw
I want to like it
Robin is articulate and researches the cases thoroughly. However, his strained high notes in his voice are unlistenable. It’s a strange, unnatural high pitch he throws in every 2nd sentence or so. When he speaks in his natural range and is more casual, he’s fine. It’s as if someone coached him to “not be monotone” and “modulate” his voice. Wish I could listen, yet it’s truly awful-sounding.

Fate
As with most things in life, the best surprises are those that we stumble over on the proverbial road in life. As with this show I was not looking for anything in particular then I pressed on it. Well, I was hooked. I absolutely love Robin’s narration tone with the occasional curse word in it. It tickles me. I am a true crime buff and once in a while you find a show like this one. One that sticks out from the rest of the crowd. There’s nothing that I can pinpoint, it’s the entirety of the presentation. Well, I can’t say enough about it without sounding redundant. All I can say is that you will not regret becoming a fan of this show. Unfortunately I am not in a good financial position to contribute monetarily, in better circumstances I would of course. The show is created with a large modicum of love for the art of bringing these horrid stories to light but I am sure they are not easy to produce. I listen to Robin at work or on my way to/from work and he makes these otherwise tedious interludes in life rather tolerable. Thank you Robin and crew for creating such a interesting and thought-provoking show. I will spread the word, which I am sure is a good thing for your show and hopefully others will venture into that dark alley with only your voice as a guide…
