The ‘Chivecast is hands down the best podcast for vintage Star Wars collecting. I found it in the ROTJ era of the show and have since gone back and listened to it all (mostly). The perfect mix of information/data, history, news, humor, and entertainment. Really brings attention to The Archive in the way that it deserves for the incredible resource that it is. My personal highlights are the figure themed deep dive episodes, interviews, the Nuggets, Market Watch game, Skykus, and the beautifully succinct and perfect Flip The Script drop. My only gripe would be the personal bias on the figure-themed episodes… you can tell when Sky or Steve think a figure is lame, they don’t go as in-depth information-wise about the figure (IE Chewbacca episode vs. Klaatu Skiff episode). This is coming from a Prune Face collector, so… take that as you will. Space Freak for life!!!

This podcast has been hitting my feed for 6-7 years. Sometimes I learn a lot about the hobby. Other times I have to endure a lecture on some liberal cause or another from Sky. Every once in a while I agree but the other 90 percent of the time….. Most episodes include a guest or two, and Steve and Sky really cast a wide net to bring in a great many different collectors from all over the world. They do not just rely on one or two super collectors but include great focus collectors long-time hobbyists, and people who have worked hard to preserve unique and rare items. If you go back in their catalog you might even discover they have given voice to a few controversial people. Few podcasts cover the hobby in as much detail or with as much diversity from around the hobby.

This is a podcast that seems to be made for a very narrow audience. It’s full of inside jokes and little real entertainment. It’s the best example of Star Wars snobs. Unless you are part of their ‘in crowd’ this isn’t the Podcast you are looking for.

These guys are crazy! I’ve listened to almost every episode. Always a few laughs in each episode not to mention a lot of vintage Star Wars info that you would never know about if you choose not to listen.

Sky and Steve are entertaining as HELL!!!! I love the knowledge in vintage toys of my childhood and I love all the collector guests! Sky gives the best Nicknames!!!!

Ive been collecting for a few years and find that at times i can get lost in all the different types of toys, models, cardbacks, paint versions, etc. this podcast goes into detail on much of that which is really informative and fun to listen to. I would reccomend it to any star wars collector!!

For nearly a decade Skye and Steve have been exploring the world of early Star Wars collectibles from all over the world. With a focus on Kenner action figures made from 1978-1985 they interview passionate collectors, discuss the development and manufacturing of the original toys, define collecting terms, and keep listeners up to date on values and newly found rarities. There's a unique mix of absurdist humor, random French history and dad jokes to keep listeners surprised but the show is very informative and has made me want to collect even more than I already do. Bonus episodes go in-depth with Star Wars Collectors Archive contributors and blog authors and many episodes are enhanced for iTunes and on their Youtube channel with photos associated with discussion topics. Whether you collect extremely rare pre-production materials or are just curious about how Star Wars collecting began there's a lot documented here in every episode.

I honestly cannot get enough of this podcast. While the hosts are extremely entertaining, the amount of vintage Star Wars collecting knowledge you’re exposed to never ceases to amaze. They’ll keep you up to date with what’s new in the hobby while also covering the history and details of Vintage Star Wars collectibles.

I first heard rumors of the ‘Chive Cast from my international literati connections. They felt I might be a kindred spirit with the folks behind the ‘Chive Cast and the Chewseum, on account of the Rebel fleet of vehicles docked in my discreet, woodsy spaceport in the Triangle. After making my way to Rochester, I found out that the polyglots were right. I became a regular listener of the ‘Chive Cast for as long as my budget allowed it. After a mere few episodes, I ordered a vintage Death Star, cleaned it up, and completed the set with a copy of the original instructions. And that was just the beginning of the saga for me. So much for that 529, kids.

Great show. In flyover country, Montecello, Minnesota is pronounced “Monte sello”. Grandmother lived there.

The podcast is pretty much two guys who have vintage Star Wars collections talking about anything but vintage Star Wars toys. These guys aren't even current collectors so there's nothing for them to talk about regarding current collecting trends. I give every episode a chance hoping that they will finally be talking about vintage Star Wars but instead I get to listen to really bad jokes and haikus. I really hope this podcast improves because I know these guys know a lot about Star Wars action figures but I'm not going to hold my breath. To sum up, listening to this podcast is exactly like sitting in that really boring English class with the dorky teacher who thinks he's hilarious. It's a shame.

When he talks about the figures it's a good podcast. Skye goes off topic a lot.

Just getting into collecting figures with my daughter. It's fun hunting for vintage Troopies? Stormies?...while she saves up allowance money to take with on clearance section toy runs to pick up the modern. I've learned a lot and dig that Skye and Steve are proactively inclusive to new collectors. Still waiting on my first vintage carded figure...but have my fingers crossed for a 48 b or B-wing pilot. Keep cranking them out guys. If I make it to Orlando I'm stopping by your party for sure!

This podcast is entertaining and very informative, i started woth first and listen every day to and from work, as a vintage collector or even a star wars fan in general, this is the best, and the drops are awsome, oohh my God theyre Gourgeous!!

Skye and Steve are up there with all the great straight/absurd comedy duos of all time. Oh yeah...they also talk about star wars toys!!! Super informative and super funny. No vintage toy collector in their right mind should go another day without this podcast! It rules, SPACEFREAKS!!!!

I love this podcast!! I don't collect, but love to hear about it. Very funny show. I love the audio drops and the slam poetry and French historical references. You guys should do movie commentaries for all 6 of the films. Sorry to hear of your marital problems Skye. I've been there and it stinks. The more I hear that kid yell WAMPA the funnier it gets. I'm 43 and remember the commercial growing up. Please consider doing the commentaries for the films. wampa Wampa!

I might be older than I like to admit, and way out of the new age collectable world. Luckily for me this podcast reminds me of my childhood and younger years, and adds a lot to it.

She should have bought you more toys anyway. She did the best she could at the time, but Skye and Stephen pick up where yo' momma left off. They get into the greatest detail of all things vintage, and are not afraid to dig in to the dirty underbelly of the inner circle. I'm still thinking that the inner circle is the name of that dewback belt. With all that time in the sandbox, that thing has got to be dirty... So next time you see yo' momma, give her a hug and tell her you love her. Then slap her and say "That was from The Vintage Pod."

I subscribe to several Star Wars related podcasts, this is by far my favorite! Skye and Steve are great hosts, and have great chemistry. There's a lot of info, much more humor. There is something for every vintage Star Wars collector, novice to expert! Truly an entertaining podcast! WAMPA WAMPA!!!
