I stumbled upon this podcast after having my second child and was suffering from postpartum anxiety disorder. I was absolutely hooked and became a devote follower after listening to the power of positive thinking podcast #259. I come back to that podcast when I need to pull myself out of negative headspace. I found Shameless mom when I was pregnant and going through a divorce. I seriously can’t say enough good things about Sara and this podcast! She is so real and transparent. I love that she doesn’t sugarcoat motherhood; she gives us permission to admit that it’s HARD, but then she gives practical advice for how to move through it a little more easily. I seriously live by so much of what I’ve learned from her!! And the icing on the cake for me is that she truly GETS IT! She unapologetically acknowledges social injustice, white privilege, women’s rights, all the tough and uncomfortable topics. There was something about Sara’s approach to motherhood that I found so interesting, inspiring, and valuable, even though I wasn’t a mom. I love the range of topics and guests on the show. I feel like Sara covers everything to owning your identity, your business, and your life but approaches it all in a super practical and fun way. I’ve gained so much from listening over the years and can’t wait for the next 500 episodes 😁

I was lost in the struggles of motherhood for over 2 years with no idea how to navigate my way back to sanity. Listening to Sara’s realistic, humorous, totally relatable experiences was exactly what helped me realize I wasn’t alone in this motherhood journey. The perfect medicine to laugh it off at times. I first met Sara several years ago when she owned her gym and I was routinely taking her boot camp classes. After moving to North Seattle, I wasn’t able to continue with the classes and lost touch. Fast forward 8 years, a husband and new baby later and I reconnected with Sara on a completely different level — motherhood. I am a first time mom with a 4 mo old daughter and have been struggling so hard with finding myself and not knowing how I am anymore. Sara, her podcast and the resources she provides could not have come at a more pivotal moment in my life. I relate to so many of the topics and look forward each day to carving out time to listen to an episode. I’m starting to see my old ‘new self’ and could not be more grateful. Thank you, Sara!

I started listening to Shameless a couple years ago when I was knee deep in a crushing divorce that became more emotionally abusive after I left the 15 year stifling marriage. This podcast.. where do I start? Sara is so SO good and has the most amazing podcast. She encourages reflection and promotes dialogue on a range of topics. Mostly difficult or sensitive subjects that every mom, woman, or human goes through! I’ve been listening to this podcast for 2.5 years and it has brought magic, inspiration, and realization to my life. The relationships I choose are better! My career is better than ever! I am a black woman who has listened to your podcast for a year now. Honestly I have been interested in flying out to your conference because I enjoy your podcast so much. My reservation that I had was based on the fact that I wasn’t sure how inclusive the conference would be. I also didn’t know how informed you truly are on race relations. I’m thrilled to hear this message during black history month. We need more of you contributing and sharing these messages....and boldly taking a stance for women of color. I have been listening to the shameless mom academy podcast since September 2018. I wish I had discovered Sara sooner. I am a working mom to a 7 and 9 year-old. Life is hard and Sara breaks down to stay positive and motivated, cut out the clutter and focus on what matters. By taking care if yourself, you can be a better mom, wife and friend. It’s okay to say no. You don’t have to be everything to everyone. Your time is valuable, and you have control in how you spend it. She has a nice variety of guests who touch on numerous topics. I have also introduced my husband to the podcast because Sara’s tactics aren’t just applicable to moms, but also dads! He’s getting a lot out of it and I am sure he will realize where I got my Sunday basket idea from!! Thanks Sara and I hope more moms (and even dads) discover her podcast

Update review: Sara seems to be promoting herself aggressively as a “life coach” and only has guests who are modeling this. I stopped listening because she only seems to have guests that have made up jobs that involve taking money from woman without actually providing an actual service. How about an some stem fields? Or law enforcement? I got into “mom” media when I got an Erin Condren planner and saw the levels of intensity around Mom social media marketing. I was listening to a typical “super mom” podcast at work in fascination of the subculture when this podcast showed up as a suggestion. Sara has great advice and conversations both really practical daily tips and over all big picture life advice. As a super busy recent college grad and obsessive dog mom I found lots of relatable information and I am enjoying listening. Thanks for bringing these issues into daily conversation and challenging your listeners and the world around you

New momma here, and I was lost in a sea of unsolicited advice, differing opinions, and endless book recommendations during my pregnancy. All I really needed was some real talk about motherhood: the good, the bad, the ugly, ...and the beautiful. That’s what I found in Sara Dean and the Shameless Mom Academy: a “no holds barred” approach to all aspects of being a mom. More than anything, I appreciate Sara’s willingness to engage in important and difficult conversations surrounding our identities as women and moms. This podcast pulls the mask off the Instagram images we see of the “perfect moms” and addresses the honest challenges that come with pregnancy, delivery, and raising tiny humans. The Shameless Mom Academy was my comfort and reality check in the months leading up to the birth of my baby boy in 2019, and now it’s my weekly dose of mom therapy. Even more, it’s full of empowering messages. Sara’s openness and vulnerability about her own struggles and triumphs in mothering lends credibility to the messages that she gives her listeners. I truly believe her when she says “you’ve got this, momma.” So, Sara... thank you.
