Love this podcast

I was specifically looking for a podcast ran by black women that was going to speak to my mind, spirit and heart. I came across this podcast this year and couldn’t stop listening! I absolutely LOVE this podcast. It brings me clarity, perspective, peace, hope, joy and inspiration. The fact this is a platform created by black women for black women makes me cherish this even more. The raw, realness and authenticity of Charla and Lauren made this show so relatable. They created a space for black women from every possible background you could think of to express themselves and educate its listeners. This podcast was an ultimate game changer for me and empowering me to love myself fully as a black woman and to show more love and support to my fellow black women. I hope they create new episodes. ❤️

Great show but what makes it hard to listen to is the girl with the fried voice!! It’s sooooooo Irritating she trying to sound like a Kardashian?? proper English is one thing but that fried voice please I couldn’t continue to listen

I really enjoy listening to this podcast on days when I don’t just want to fill my head with music but instead enhance my mind in ways I didn’t even know i needed too! I am just grateful these two stepped out & made such a great podcast. I have been flipping through the various episodes for about 2 months now! & everyday I learn something new. Thank you both so so much . You all have really made a mark in my life .

Wish the season hadn’t ended during this pandemic/BLM but I’m listening to back episodes to keep me going. This is EVERYTHING particularly as a black woman who just moved from Atlanta to a new predominantly white city. I desperately needed to hear black women’s voices. Thank you!

I love and live for this show. So far, I am technically on the 2nd podcast. You all use “like” as a conjunction word and your statements sounds as though you’re questioning your thoughts. The topic is great! I love you all.

I found this podcast to listen to at work and I wanted something that spoke to my soul. This is a podcast for any black woman who needs direction or just something that speaks to them. I love this podcast because they don’t sugar coat anything it’s all truth. And they don’t make you feel bad about being Black they empower you as they should! And it helps you connect with other black women that are doctors, activists, authors, professors, actors, and comedians etc... The more mentors the better and I feel I know them. It is a podcast that speaks to all ages colleges students, moms, grandmas, aunts. Where ever you are in life this podcast will help you breathe take in and you will feel so refreshed. I laugh with them and cried! I listen to this every where!! Thanks for highlighting black women in a world and technology age that shuts us out and makes us work harder to showcase our talent, art, and culture that we created centuries ago!! I don’t know where I’d be with out this podcast. And so sad it is leaving but chapters end so new chapters can start and I will forever miss this podcast.

I just discovered this podcast about a month or so ago and I am so sad to see you two go. As you mentioned, I will continue to revisit the interviews over and over. Each guest had this quiet confidence that I’m working on cultivating in my own life. Charla, your openness about your journey around abundance and it’s connection to a history of lack resonated so strongly. I too grew up poor. I recently had a major breakthrough around abundance, the scarcity mindset and it’s connection to poverty. Standing ovation to both of you for a job well done! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I got choked up today because I am sad this is ending...however, I’ve loved this so much and I so happy that it is up and onward for you two! I started listening to check my white privilege and, in this political climate, I knew I had to do more listening to make sure I was voting like a black woman in 2020 (since I’m in Alabama now and ‘we’ white women are really messing it all up totally). But really I learned so much more about myself and how much incredible education I was missing I from all your amazing guests. I mean, investing? Yes. Therapy? Absolutely. I have New Orleans roots and I was struck on how much I could relate but at the same time be so unaware. Thank you so much for letting me listen ❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭 For anyone who hasn’t listened to this, it is timeless and topic specific LISTEN TO THESE SMART WOMEN ASAP 💜

This podcast brings me so much joy and I love that they discuss the unique and quite unknown topics and issues pertaining to black women and really do a deep dive into them with a positive spirit. Amazing show keep it up girls!

I recall in high school they began the dress code checks. More often times than not, black girls were always sent to the office to change their clothes. I knew that this was wrong, so thank you for your insight onto fashion as it relates to the black woman’s body

I listened to your 1st episode and it’s sooooo on point. Black women across AmeriKKKa need to hear this!!! Especially now with the COVID-19 crisis and exacerbating the health disparities of black and brown people. We need a united voice to pressure the powers that be. Great show ladies!!!!

Just found them about a month ago and I’m just about done binge-listening. The topics are specific to Black women but also touches on life in general. The topics are wide and the guests are just as laid back and open. I love that the hosts don’t pretend to know everything and ask guests the right questions to open them up more.

I started listening to this podcast sort of intrigued to see what goes on in the “Secret Lives of Black Women.” I was expecting pop culture references that I didn’t understand, or talks about racial inequality and the patriarchy. I didn’t expect how wholesome this whole show is. So much self-love and healthy boundaries and humor. It’s a beautiful show that everyone should listen to. I am so excited for the next season!

If there was a show for white people, it would be racist. How is this not? This is a double standard and it’s wrong.

Being a black woman from the Caribbean, I love the concept and the messages your podcast brings to all black females from all over the world. I enjoy the guests and I take notes from each podcast and use it in my everyday life. I would one day love to be a regular guest on your show. Just to share my view as a regular person without any celebrity background. Mother, wife, daughter and sister

I am not the type of person that writes reviews. But this episode was so good it made me feel as if I was in the room with all of you. I recently lost my mom and realized that I’m dealing with depression and anxiety so instead of going to counseling again I decided to take care of myself in my own way. I started listening to these podcasts and found that a lot of people out there have a similar story that I do. Also I realized that I’m not so alone in the way that I think. There’ve been a number of topics that’s the first time I’ve ever heard these concepts it makes me research them makes me wanna understand things more thank you all for that. Right now every day is different some days are hard some days are easy but they’re different and I’m still trying to get used to it. With my mom gone. So thank you for having this podcast and thank you for not making me feel so alone continue to make me laugh and bring my thoughts to a better place and teach me with all these new concepts you all are bringing to light about me as a black woman in the world that I reside in. I found this podcast while at work one day and could honestly relate to EVERY SINGLE THING these women are talking about. I have been telling all my friends about this show so they can listen too. They talk about topics that I’m sure all black women can relate to. Love it.

Although they’re not much older than me, I feel like I’m hiding under my older sister’s bed when her friends come over.

I’ve been listening since episode 2 and this podcast couldn’t have come at a better time on my life. They have insightful yet easy going conversations with black women. Said women along with the hosts share their stories and wisdom along with loving sisterly antidotes. I actually refresh my podcast page on Wednesdays just READY for them haha. Oh I also LOVE at the beginning how they have the highlight quotes from the guest that gives you a taste of what the show is going to be. LOVE!! 💖💖💖

I like this podcast and there is a potential me to fall in love with the podcast. I just hate when Charla Lauriston and Lauren Domino sinnngs and draaaag their words. Idk, but it's a little annoying and I'm not excellent to listen to new episodes because of it. Sigh... but I'm a believer of supporting black women and maybe I will get use to how they pronounced their words and form of speaking. But it's annoying. God bless!
