Still missed
I still miss this, the best literary podcast ever. I keep hoping it might be revived.

Missing this podcast
This was hands-down the best books podcast out there, and I’m so disappointed that it ended. I really hope you all revive it one day soon

Why is this podcast ending?
My favorite podcast — thoughtful, amazing interviews and inspiring writers. This podcast helped me survive the 2016 election in the US because it provided a space for thoughts and literature and smart conversations — instead of yelling. Why is the podcast ending? I don’t believe it. No. Please don’t end this podcast. It is now more necessary then ever as we are stuck in doors during this pandemic. Best NATALIJA vekic

Very good, fair, a little circumspect re: criticism of authors right to the story but ultimately coming out on the side of art and the freedom of writers to tell a story. Much better podcast than many another literary podcasts. I subscribed.

One of Many Guardian Podcasts I Love
I subscribe to several Guardian podcasts and this is one of my favorite. As a US resident, and consumer of mainly US literature, I’m always excited to find good UK/international book podcasts. The Guardian Books podcast is just that

A new favorite!
This is just perfect: erudite, yet friendly and accessible. Somehow, this podcast achieves that all-too-rare goal of providing fun, useful, interesting, challening information through well-paced dialogue with non-adversarial, non-competetive hosts.

Favorite weekly roundup of English writing
Consistently intelligent conversations about & with contemporary English language authors. Great way to stay up to date with the latest in the literary world!

recent changes to the podcast
I always enjoy listening to the Guardian Books podcast. But for heaven's sakes, get rid of the audio "leaders" that now begin every episode. The recent episode on Latin American poetry, for example, was prefaced by two or three minutes of random sounds that included newsreaders intoning authorial obituaries, decontextualized snippets of prose and poetry, and someone playing an accordion badly. Such additions do nothing for the podcast and indeed may form an obstacle for some listeners. I, for my part, scroll past this material until I reach the point where the show actually begins. In brief, less style and more substance is warranted. Thank you!

Why
Why is it not possible to get older podcasts here? It is only possible to do on the web page, and there you can only load on per page, its idiotic!

From the Guardian
So, what can I say? You know it'll be good. This is one of the better literature podcasts, ranking with the (NYT)Book Review and Books on the Nightstand. It covers a wide variety of topics and the books are virtually always available in the US so you needn't worry that they are talking about things you've never heard of and will never be able to buy. They occasionally produce an episode devoted to an author reading their work. I also admire the charmingly British cheekiness of the show. They had David Shields on to talk about his book "Reality Hunger" after which the host Claire Armistead invited a panel of reviewers to discuss the book, which they panned. Love this show.

This Podcast is such a joy!
If you like to read, or better yet if you are an aspiring writer, this podcast is most definitely for you. The content is intelligent, insightful and in many ways quite delicious for one's mind and ears. Try it because I promise you that you will fall in love with it.
