Wishing for season 2
Exciting, educating, and eery! I listen with morbid fascination to the extrapolations and genuine concern for the data and facts used to effectively illustrate the reason of these projections. Most of these topics have had interesting developments since this show’s release! There is new data, new insights, new technology. I’d love to hear more!

I just finished listening to the whole series straight through. Great stuff. Everything is well explained and well organized. Fact of the podcast for me was that A.I. doesn’t love me or hate me, it just was to use my atoms for something else.

Mixed feelings
It’s good so far but also sometimes it’s interesting and sometimes it’s terrifying

Still Every Bit As Relevant
I listen to this whole series once a year at this point and I enjoy it every time. So fascinating and beautifully done!

Review Title?
Extraordinarily fascinating, Astoundingly Interesting, and Unexplainably good! A beautiful masterpiece of a podcast! I would recommend it to the moon and back! Don’t fear the end of the world, it won’t make you happy.

Simply Wonderful
A masterclass in podcasting. Josh’s sincerity and compassion take center stage, which elevates the topic from a science lecture into chatting with a good friend over coffee. There are no pretensions or preachings in this show - a real rarity in modern podcasting.

Best ever
Beginning in 2012 I discovered how great podcasts are when your job is boring. Over the years I have listened to countless hours of podcasts, and this is the best one. No banter no jokes no cohost just interesting ideas.

Have I told you all lately
How nice it is to listen to intelligent conversations.. I learn something every time! Thanks!

Thank you, Josh. So much to turn over. This is the most thought out and well researched conversation I have heard in a long time. Well done! I keep coming back every few weeks or so to listen again. I learn more every time!

Great but
Really great in a lot of ways, definitely a more pessimistic perspective but framed as realistic or even plausible, like being diagnosed with anxiety and making a podcast about all the things I’m anxious about. I’d imagine it’d be a very different podcast if Josh had taken a couple Xanax beforehand, but I’d wager it would not be as entertaining.

Great podcast
This podcast provides so much information on so many scientific areas. I definitely recommend it

I wish it didn’t have so many ads
I think the topics are extremely interesting but the number of ads—interspersed throughout—make it impossible to listen to.

GOAT!
One of the best podcasts. From scripting to soundscape, to editing and length of material. Freaking fantastic. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Best podcast of all time
This is honestly my favorite podcast of all time. I remember commuting to and from work a few years ago listening to this and just being in a trance with the content. The stories are so well told, and the atmosphere created with the ambient background music gives you chills. I come back every few years to see if a sequel or really anything of the same style and quality has been published!

Fascinating deep dive in science
I just wish there was a sequel. This series digs into the science but in an approachable way. No silly pop culture detours or comedy needed, this is heavy stuff.

Outstanding!
I happened upon this podcast while looking for information on artificial intelligence. this was absolutely amazing. I’m going to listen to the entire series again. This has opened my mind. I’m now motivated to seek additional insight into these topics. Josh makes extremely complicated scientific concepts understandable from a lay person perspective. He has a gift, and he has shared that gift with all of us. This series was outlined and executed beautifully; the concepts were woven together to create an amazing tapestry. I especially enjoyed the epilogue. It tied everything together for me. Thank you so very much.

Freaking Fantastic
This was an amazing listen, and I’m sad there are only ten episodes! Lots to think about and research on my own, here. Thanks, Josh, for all the amazingness!

Great listen
Spectacular listen.

Love!!!
This was wonderful. I’m glad I downloaded it. Even though Josh talks about some pretty scary stuff, his voice and the music is very soothing. It gave me hope in a very sad time.

James Webb brought me back.
The images of the JWST reminded me of the first two episodes of this podcast: so much so I wanted to relisten. I did it before with Covid, too, back in 2020. And after the sentient AI news-leak out of Google? Josh created an episode by episode prediction of 2020 on! Lord, man. Slow down. I’m not ready for all this stuff! The show walks us through these crises with calm urgency. It allows the listener to hear the information- and process it- instead of pure panic. Such critical topics! Thank you!!

Exceptional
I’m no stranger to most of these topics, but even still I am learning a ton while enjoying every minute. Wonderful and important.

Mind Blown
I love Josh from Stuff You Should Know but I was hesitant to listen to The End of the World because science has just never been my wheelhouse. Lucky for me, when I found myself scrolling to find something to listen to this morning and realized I was all caught up l, I passed The End of the World and thought - why not? I am barely into it now and I already feel like my not science oriented brain has been blown. It is so interesting and easy to understand. And the best part - you get to take the whole ride with Josh!

Please do a season 2!
I am selfishly asking for a season 2 because this gem of a podcast opened up my mind, my imagination, and changed my preconceived notions about so much.
Season 2 Steve
opens your mind
i dont know about anyone else but this podcast honestly opened my mind and helped me think more about these things.
Celestial Shadow
Poor Backing Track.
Avid listener or SYSK, I tried to listen to a single episode of this podcast and could not handle the terrible sound effects. I do not want to experience a simulation of tinnitus...

Tantalizing fear
Never learned so much while feeling so much dread at the same time.

Would love more content
This is the 4th time I am listening through. I really enjoy the content and appreciate all the hard work put into the research. I would love to see Josh tackle a similar topic as this has been one of my favorite podcasts.

Season 2??
So no season 2?? This show hits notes on different level than SYSK, I require more!

Skipping?
I thought skipping was a compact disc thing. Last third of each episode has skips, repeats and is annoying. Very annoying. Other than that, cool stuff!

Wow!
I had no idea what a great writer Josh Clark was! I can sum up with one word - Wow! The second summary is that this series is literally vital.

So many “whoas”!
A great balance of educational and entertaining. I’ve been continually amazed (so many “whoas”). I attend lectures about similar topics at California Academy of Sciences when I can and Josh is easily keeping up with the pack of those professionals with obviously extensive research. Also, it’s one of the best produced series I’ve heard! Keep up the great work! I’d pay for more of this content Josh…I am pretty sure you could use some jet ski money?…no?

So far...
I’m up to mid-episode 4... I’ve read some comments claiming a monotone voice, simply inaccurate, his range of enthusiasm is chill and subtle, I’m going to have a moment of arrogance here; I have perfect pitch—the dude isn’t at all monotone, not at all Ben Stein from the Clear Eyes’ commercials, ha, good times! Josh, the host, is more or less speaking as if someone in the other room is trying to sleep, which I appreciate because I typically use podcasts as a tool for calming down before bed. I digress: 10-ish years ago I listened to a podcast by NPR’s RadioLab, the one about the plausible infinite multiverse, and ever since then I’ve been trying to find podcasts that offer fresh perspectives—founded in actual academic thought—within that same genre, finally...finally, 10 years later I find that this podcast!

Josh Clark knocks it outta the park
Sometimes when I’m alone I yell, “I actually learned about that from the End of the World with Josh Clark podcast! Highly recommend if you haven’t checked it out!” Apparently I’m that guy now. Thanks a lot, JOSH.

Episode 6 Biotechnology
I had to go back and listen to this episode again from 2018. Josh's scenerio of a accidental or otherwise release of a virus getting out is read like a script for exactly what is happening now, and he should get the credit for predicting the 2020 coronavirus pandemic though not knowing it at the time. Thank you Josh.

Amazing
In my opinion, the best podcast series I have listened too. Thank you.

Fascinating
Intriguing, beautiful, and troubling all at once..... And if that isn’t enough, the music is amazing....... Highly recommended..... Update I returned today to catch some details that I missed during Round #1 and was shocked to hear all of the RIDICULOUS commercials that have invaded the podcast series since I first heard it. Sadly, these disruptions have ruined the beauty of the experience. I’m so glad that I was able to avoid them and I’m so sorry for those of you who missed the beautiful gift that this series provided to us the first time.
