Essential
Kyle and Grant will be greatly missed but Sean and his childish immature fascination with sexual innuendos will be nice to be gone.

Stay dusty
Hello. Jason Barr here. I can’t thank the three of you and your families enough for everything. I have been wanting to step away from a stressful career and turn my love for carpentry and woodworking into a money earning endeavor. Listening to the podcast inspired me to support you guys through Patreon and start my own business. Best career decision I have made to date. Y’all will be missed and thank you for all of the content, laughs, advice on woodworking, boats, children, boots, fishing, books, movies, shows, pens, workshop design, sketch up, adult beverages, tools, screen doors, bowls, turning, spoons, food, the place place, and much more. Stay dusty.

Going to missed
I cannot remember the last time I laughed, and cringed (after today’s shop injury descriptions) so much listening a podcast. - Aaron Birkeland @lamb_woodworks

I dance every time it comes on.
Love this podcast. And dance every time the intro song comes on. Especially when I am at the lathe listening.

Drill press key
Thanks for your podcast especially when the conversation drifts back to woodworking. You recently talked about keeping track of the drill chuck key. The solution I learned many years ago was attaching the key to a retractable chain held on to the drill press with a magnet. After using the key I just let go of it and it is always ready for the next use. Thanks again for all the woodworking hints you provide and it always interesting to hear what you a working on. Regards, Tom

Keepin me between the lines.
As NWPA truck driver and beginner/wannabe woodworker I’ve found listening to the three of you banter keeps me in between the lines with my dirty side down where it belongs. You also have some very interesting stories that keep me interested. Keep up the great work!!!!!! You’ve got one of the top notch podcasts out here. Love hearing your discussions of creativity. Grant thank you for your service Oohrah! Sean good luck on your bid for the Air Force. Toth your work is AMAZING! Curious if you’re related to Toth’s from the Cleveland Ohio area? Have to say I’d prefer not to hear politics on my wood working podcast. Just had to add after your comment towards Home Depot. I’ve also enjoyed the fish/hunt/camp/wood talk as of late. Wish a speedy recovery Grant. As I’ve just listened to the latest episode this morning.

Best fishing camping woodworking podcast around
If you are looking for woodworking and deep dives into which glues then you may be too serious for this podcast. If you are curious about fishing on the east coast or camping in a rental van and occasionally lava rock walls then this is the podcast for you. Overall great conversations and if you stay long enough you will start to see why so many people can relate to these guys.

Love these guys
I forgot I wrote a review before, but I’m updating it. It’s still a 5 star, but the extreme lack of fishing talk from 2 of the unnamed hosts, makes me sad.

My favorite podcast
I seriously just downloaded itunes to write this review (which involves entering credit card info for some stupid reason). I'm a white-trash android user (reference to a Grant joke), so don't use apple podcasts. They have the best woodworking advice ane even life advice. They have had great recommendations for everything from other podcasts to fiber pills. I drive for a living, it's a lot of driving and listen to so many podcasts and this is my favorite, it's the one I save for the drive home after a hard day of work. I would say I came for the woodworking and stayed for the yucks, I laugh so much while listening to these guys. Please, keep doing what you guys do.

This podcast makes you feel dusty, but in a good way. Like you just finished a big project kind of dustyness and you get talk about it with your buddies while drinking a cold one going over all the details of the build. This podcast pairs best with sharpening stones and your favorite blade/chisel. Give it a listen, get dusty, and chill. Toth Rulez

“You got dusty with the boys the other dayeee.”
This is an awesome podcast, full of great information, witty banter, conversations about everyday life, and I even enjoy Grant’s weekly fishing updates, and that’s what’s I appreciates about ya’s. I wish I would have found this podcast sooner! I’ll definitely be listening to it while I’m getting dusty this weekend.

Oliver burger sauce
One large jar green olives Small jar of dill pickle relish Small jar sweet pickle relish Half white onion Large jar of mayo ——————————— Take jar of green olives, empty 3/4 of the contents into a strainer. Let sit for 10-20 minutes, you want to let them dry off. Take large bowl. Or if you don’t like washing dishes, use a Tupperware it will eventually end up in. Put half the jar of mayo, 3/4 the jar of dill relish, and 3/4 the jar of sweet relish in container and stir together. Dice half of the white onion and stir into mixture. Take dried green olives and run them through the slap chop or any kind of food processor. You want it to be pretty broken down. Then stir into mixture. If the consistency is too grainy add more mayo. If it’s too salty add more sweet relish. Enjoy with any kind of burger. Although my preference would be bison burger, with baked beans and mustard potato salad. If you feel really wild. After you take your second bite, while holding the burger vertical Spoon alittle baked beans on the flat spot you just created.

My first review ever - just sayin
So when I first listened to these guys years ago I thought: “What am I going to learn from these stoners?” But they grew on me, and it turns out, I have learned a lot. I even appreciate the cooking ideas and I keep hoping for a good haystack recipe from Sean. Kyle seems like a fine chap but I am not really sure since most of what he says is mumbled away from the microphone. Grant is talented, has some great tips and reminds us to not take ourselves too serious. Listen to this podcast, it is truly one of the greats in this genre. BTW, if “The Modern Maker Podcast”. can get sponsors why not these guys? (No offense to the stoners at MMPC, I like them too).

The 3 Amigos of woodworking!
These guys are great. Shawn is Ned, Grant is Luck Day, and Dusty Bottoms is obviously played by the naked wrangler Kyke Toth. All seriousness, Covid-19 has turned me crazy. I am a hospital employee and have had nightmares for 3 straight months. Even being out of work from stress, no woodworking. The only woodworking escape I get is listening to guys like this. Thank you. FYI. On a personal note, after the doctors have stuffed me with all kinds of med, I’ve turned to out of pocket Ketamine infusions! The K-hole is amazing! You are probably wondering why I bright the psychedelics into a woodworking podcast review. Sometime while riding the K-Train (in the doctor’s office), I think about my next woodturning project or crazy geometric creations! It’s coming!! SwedishNuts OUT!

Love the banter and how they often accidentally fall into legitimate woodworking tips. Learn a ton and have a laugh while you do it. Fully recommend.

This is the only woodworking podcast I listen to anymore. Ever since I heard you were “turning bowls” I knew I had found my people. Bring back the daily podcast, or maybe twice a week. Stay dusty

Fantastic!
This podcast is incredible. Kyle, Grant, and Sean have a great dynamic that leads to both really insightful woodworking discussion as well as hilarious banter and jokes. The episodes have something useful for everyone from a DIYer to a pro, and humor for everyone. And thank you guys for all the social distancing episodes! They’ve been a nice little bright spot through all these shenanigans.

Excellent podcast
This is an excellent podcast, especially if you miss the awkward family get togethers around the holidays. It’s like hanging out around the workbench with your hipster/stoner step brother, your often hilarious but occasionally creepy uncle, and your dad who tries and usually fails to keep the whole group on track. These guys are great and this podcast is one of the highlights of my week!!!!

Enjoy hearing the guys talk about their projects and following along with their social media. Great podcast for woodworking knowledge, random banter, and laughs.

Best woodworking podcast
Very entertaining, educational and funny. Great podcast to listen to during the drive to work, at work, and in the shop. It keeps me inspired to continually work on improving the craft. Stay dusty my friends.

Number 1 go to woodworking podcast
This is a fantastic podcast for beginners and pros alike. I love the random banter of food, movies and other crazy things that Grant is doing. Everyone here has phenomenal knowledge of the craft that can or will answer any question they can to their abilities. It always gets me dying at work when Grant and Kyle (mostly Grant) interrupt Sean. Hilarious (sorry Sean). Anyways keep slinging sawdust for all us out here that look forward to each episode. Loving it
It took me a while to come upon this podcast, but I'm here to stay. The format of informal woodworking talk works out nicely. It's entertaining, with a lot of useful information and real world woodworking problem solving. Sit back, enjoy the random banter, and learn something.

Great podcast!
Excellent woodworking advice and fun banter with the guys. I love hearing about Kyle’s exploits in the Marines and getting his kids out in the shop. Grant’s woodworking advice is almost as impressive as the various cocktail recipes he provides and I wish him luck getting his A++ certification. Sean brings all the knowledge he garnered at the North Bennet Street School from fine joinery to the art of making tap handles. So glad that they’re back now that Rockler is a sponsor so listen to what they say and get out there and Make Something!!

Really good entertainment
I really want Kyle to explain where he gets the black veneer from again:) In all seriousness, the North Bennett stories and Sean’s meat stories keep me coming back for more.

The essential woodworking podcast
As a former shop teacher I am accustomed to woodworking with sweaty teenagers that would rather draw penises on that lace wood than actually create something that could be sold for a profit. If you are a woodworker this is the essential podcast. All project and shop talk with no screwing around or grabass. Steinerwoodwork

Worst possible....
Podcast about ornithology I have ever heard. They keep taking about cellulose foam endlessly...honestly the only reason to listen is the absolute constant flow of “mm hmm mm hmm”. It is the only thing in the planet that keeps me sane. That comforting, blissful sound of agreement from a former triathlete and wannabe space force ocifer. I literally cannot get enough. Also, this is the best podcast ever! Keep up the good work fellas!! Thank you.

The dustiest podcast I could find
The Dusty Life. What can I say? These guys have made it almost 200 episodes! Where else can you get a regular dose of friendly banter, lengthy conversations that have almost nothing to do with listener questions, and 5-10 minutes of tops and woodworking! I love listening to these guys, and they were almost begging for someone to leave a review during episode 199, so this is the best I can do on short notice!

Swiss accuracy
I’ve been on the search for a new drive time POd cast and I think I found it!!!!! I’m only a few episodes in but so far I’m loving it!!! Just the right balance of advice and shenanigans! Side note if you would like a Swiss watchmakers take on watch water resistantancy.... read this on the pod cast and I’ll send in a explanation. Unsurprisingly (lawyers are involved)

The begging finally worked
After weeks of the guys begging for reviews I’ve decided to write one. Thanks for the great podcast. Always has me laughing. Kyle and Grant always have great insights and Sean is there too. 😀

Rock the Boat
Grant - Please Read this. :-) Gents, The podcast Rocks! 5 fist bump stars for sure! I had the chance to party with Kyle and Sean a few years back in Kansas City at Woodworking in America. Also hung out with Sean at Skiatook Oklahoma. But that brings us to you Grant.. We havent met yet... But Sean and Kyle were pretty darn cool.. So that means we have to raise the bar for you my man.. If we did meet.. Dude I would picture me standing on the shore of a boston beach, you in your new rubber dingy boat. But wait.. whats in that rubber dingy.. Thats right.. One of your custom built Rocking chairs.. Oh Snap. But theres more.. Check yourself Elon Musk.. Grant has created the worlds 1st Rocking Chair powered boat. Dude you are scootin around the bay, people in traffic are all Peanut Butter and jealous as your rockin that chair, like a granny gettin her knittin on. Im playing of course.. I would totally give you style points if you could pull it off with pool inflatables and a drainage ditch.. Keep your maker hands strong! - Brian from WoodenCreationz

24 Carrot Gold
The Crunchy Life is my favorite mouth based woodworking authority.  Every week Grant's sultry harmony distracts me from the inevitable truth that nothing rhymes with orange. Sean and Kyle's unspoken platonic tension will leave you asking "did I forget my Grandma's birthday?".  Week after week this unlikely band of jabronis dance around topics like epoxy, rabbets, and lost love, delivering a product only rivaled by Beethoven's Mona Lisa.  But listener beware, this podcast is more addicting than routine bikini waxes.

Easily Top 2 WW Pods
A great woodworking podcast. To me this is better than WoodTalk and runs neck and neck with FWW for enjoyability. The hosts are likable and there’s a diverse mix in their education, experience, interests, marital status, woodworking goals, etc. One is married with a busload of kids while the other two are in committed relationships with no kids. Two went to the North Bennet Street School’s Furniture Craftsmanship program (and it’s cool to hear about those experiences), but the third did not attend NBSS. One is rather well established and has steady work, one is fighting the good fight to make his way in the tough world of woodworking as a maker and instructor, and one has had to face the reality that he has to support his family so he’s getting into IT to pay the bills until woodworking can be relied on. The first guy is big into artistic woodturning pieces, the second is teaching and furniture-making, and the third is more of a serious hobbyist who takes some commissions. They share their interesting life experiences like cage fighting, military service, or school teaching, as well as being from and having lived in various parts of the US. They talk a lot about their current projects, woodworking training, techniques, tips they’ve discovered, past woodworking experiences, and social media. In addition to these woodworking gems, they also discuss travel, TV, movies, books and food to keep things from getting to dry. If one of them is traveling they also may bring on an interesting guest to round things out and provide a fresh perspective. All of this makes for a fun podcast that feels more like a fun hang out session with friends than a boring instructional podcast. Its a really enjoyable podcast that seems to go far too quickly. Anyone interested in a podcast that could be described as “a causal and fun woodworking discussion” should tune in. No matter how new or experienced you are in woodworking you’re sure to be entertained and will likely learn several things you didn’t know.

The real deal
I’ve been listening to these guys for about 6 months now, maybe longer. Time flies while listening and I always get something out of one of the trio. It’s part of my listen while driving to school to teach our youth. These three males (see what I did there?) are knowledgeable, entertaining and real humans. Thank you for sharing your time with us, oh and for those still reading it’s a great woodworking listen! -Lovett, uLovett Creations
