Not safe for kids.
Don’t listen to this with your kids. The almost constant use of sexual innuendo by a participant in the Phandelver D&D session made it impossible to listen to around my children. I’m not asking for changes, I just want to inform anyone interested in the podcast.

I love the show.
how is then name taken
Love the banter!
Great content! The intros and outros of each segment seem unnecessarily long and seem like something just tacked out in editing out of habit. Also the use of big promoter voice makes me cringe every time, not Craig’s rapid fire voice.. that’s gold.

I like this show, but...
This show gets bigger down and slow every episode. Part of it is from these incredibly point, unfunny, and much more unnecessary bumpers and introductions for every segment, every episode. The hosts are a little too similar and that gets boring as well. It's a will made show overall, even if they break the 'no ego'rule with it. The introduction sequence is amazing, funny and always fresh. Three stars for that alone. If they tighten up the show and cut all those unnecessary bits, this show is 4-5 stars.

Good info, too much BS
You can get some really solid info from this podcast, but it’s mired down by so much BS. Weird solo segments, long adverts and odd segments. I wish these guys would cut the crap and just talk about the games they’ve been playing.

Felt Reminded to Say I Really Appreciate This Show
I've been listening to the show for a long time now, and though it has gone through its ups and downs, through the occasional Craig mood swing or excessively long Raef segment, the more I consume other gaming media the more I appreciate it. I love that they provide listenable opinions about things as seen through the eyes of two adult gamers. They stay realistic and objective, they're not fanboys and they're not immature, and they know the value of a dollar, something which is increasingly rare with these sorts of shows. They don't talk about spending $150 on a game as if it were like buying a pack of bubblegum. They don't force themselves into having some interesting opinion, which always comes across fake, or sound like they're doing an impersonation of a Thanksgiving Day Parade TV host, with enthusiasm so forced you'd think it was a trying to be a parody, which so many Youtubers do now. And I appreciate all that so much sometimes when I listen. They still review games with 3rd chair guests who haven't played the game and aren't really involved in the conversation for so long that the guest begins checking their email, and I don't really blame them, but other than that, the show is very solid and very enjoyable to listen to.

The d "yes" generation
I work long hours and love gaming so the large episodes give me something to listen too. Hosts are funny and sincere and are clear on their points of view making reviews feel natural and unbiased.

Good but Problamatic
I have listened to The D6G since episode 3. It has been at times rough but entertaining. I appreciate the general stance of "no hate" on the show. Over the years i have had to grit my teeth at the occasional insensitive, mysoginstic, or borderline racist comment. I recently emailed Russ and Craig with my concerns. The response i received was was in essence [sorry you are dissapointed, deal with it]. I wanted to show to be better and treat gamers better but i doubt that will happen.

Way too happy
I have been listening to you guys for about 6 months now and basically have gotten caught up on all the episodes. Today I got way too excited about seeing a new episode. I look forward to your show so much. I love that it is about board games but that you also go beyond that as well. I can't wait for the next 200 episodes. Thanks guys

A solid show, highly enjoyable
I've been listening since Ep 30 or so and have enjoyed every one. The revolving third chair format is nice. Some folks think the show is too long, but I enjoy the deeper detail they are able to go into in discussions and their game reviews. It definitely influenced my podcast, The Veteran Wargamer.

Expect more from a “for profit” podcast
Pros: Rapid fire, Great game reviews. Cons: Advertising, lengthy personal experiences, more advertising, boring monologue segments, even more advertising, needs de-essing. As a for profit show, this show requires more editing and tightening of content to focus on what the hosts do best, game reviews. Recommendations: 1) Drop the fan girl segment, for lack of constructive content. 2) Drop the hollywood segment, for rambling. 3) Provide written summary of episode content vice leaving generic podcast description. 4) invest some of the profits in audio editing software to run de-essing of Craig (sp?). 5) Keep the rapid fire, as it’s a great energizer.

Can't wait for new episodes
Easily one of my top podcasts! Look forward to this every few weeks; guys (and Total Fan Girl and occasionally others females) are extremely approachable. Great content, well-produced...can't beat it!

Good podcast
Great podcast! The only thing I would change is that the host do less talking. He has great guests on the show but most of it is just listening to him talk. I want to hear more from the guests. Nothing against the host, I just think this would make the show more enjoyable. Specifically, during the run-throughs on the game he is doing mostly all the talking - Russ.

Most Excellent!
I have been gaming since 1979 and it is really great to listen to people my age as they discuss games of all types. The references to past games are really fun for me. I have already purchased several games based on their discussions. I only recently found this podcast and am listening from number one on up. They are all worth the listen. Thanks guys! (and wives) ;)

Best podcast on terra!
If it were not for their proximity to the golden throne by being on Terra I would declare exterminatus on them for witchcraft in the form of forcing people to buy unneeded games! (Btw, rapid fire and craig are the best part of the show.)

Still worth your time
Just updating my review posted a few years ago. The show is still great after 100+ episodes. I was concerned when the third host left the show, but the void has been filled by guest hosts as well as the occasional return of #3. As mentioned the show has been around a long time and has a good following. Over time their success has allowed them to add in more and more commercials - this is the only downside to listening. Still, it does not bother me because clearly a lot of work goes into this show. Typically I make cash donations to podcasts that I listen to, but in this case I shop at their sponsors instead. That's the tradeoff I guess. Well produced, well organized, and well written. Possibly the best gaming podcast available. The hosts are old [for the record, my age] but in a good sort of way. It's entertaining when they occasionally talk about "old school" games, and from this you get the sense they speak from a wealth of experience. To me that is another aspect of the show's appeal. Unique. Entertaining. A little nostalgic. And still worth listening to.

A podcast I’ve been meaning to review.
My son and I have enjoyed listening to your program for almost a year now. We listen in the car everywhere we go. He actually requests this podcast when we get into the car among the myriad game podcasts we listen to. I love the different segments. We especially like the rapid fire and totalfangirl, although we really love you all. I keep meaning to review the podcast and after a rousing game of 7 Wonders (where my son kicked our butts) I decided it was past due. Thanks for all you guys do to keep us entertained. I would give the D6G a 2 plus a reroll if you are a gamer. I think that’s right?!? Your rating system still confuses me no matter how many times you explain it ;) Can’t wait for next year’s prediction podcast. Thanks, Gary Boyd Tidal Games

Great content, Great humor, and Great Interviews
If you're looking for a well-rounded gaming podcast that covers everything from board games, miniatures games, role-playing games, and everything in between, this podcast is for you. Their shows usually run about 3-4 hours long and consistently come out every two weeks. Their audio quality is top-notch, and between the industry contacts that they've developed and the 'street cred' they've developed with this show, they're able to host an unparalleled variety of industry professionals and people of interest to their audience on their shows. Although this is my first time reviewing them, I have been listening to them for 6 years. Throughout this time, there have been hiccups as the lives of the hosts interrupted the consistent flow of episodes, but I can only recall a couple times that this has happened. Their continued support of the nerd/gamer community and their continued release of long-format, high-quality episodes every fortnight or so is a strong testament to their collective dedication to this hobby. If you are now, have ever been, or been curious about being a gamer, this is a great listen. I highly recommend this podcast.

Excellent gaming podcast!
This podcast is well-rounded and very entertaining. I don't play any miniature wargames, but I still love hearing the guys talk about them. An excellent way to spend an afternoon (and early evening).

A Good Show that could be Great
This used to be my favorite podcast. Since then I've moved on to others as my go-to show. I love Russ, and his insight is great. When Raef is on the show, oftentimes he seems unprepared and oblivious. Craig, who used to be my favorite part of the show, has become pessimistic and negative. When the two are on the show together, it's clear that they don't like each other, or Craig doesn't like Raef. My advice is to skip the show when the two are on together, because you get 4 hours of Craig snapping, Raef interrupting with odd references and jokes that try too hard, and poor Russ playing mediator. I love you guys and this was my first podcast to get me into the hobby, but something is definitely amiss these last few episodes. I like that Craig is having such great success outside of the show, but the negativity is very high from him as of late.

A 3+ hour podcast packed full of gaming news, reviews, and gameplay overviews. Always in-depth and informative if you have the time to listen.

Great Podcast!
I really like this podcast, its funny informative and detailed. The only problem I can find is you guys tend to talk at a really fast pace. Normally this wouldn't bother me but, when I am finding myself rewinding the podcast to understand what you are saying, there is a problem.

Lots of great interviews, reviews and game info. Excellent sound quality and the chemistry between the guys makes for a great flow to the show. Well worth a listen. Cheers!

Awesome show!
This podcast is for anyone who like board games, card games, miniature games, and video games. These guys cover it all! This is a staple in my listening week. My week isn't complete unless these guys have Squawked in my ear.

Great Podcast
D6 Generation has been one of my favs for several years. The humor is spot on, the opening one has me in stiches almost every show. They really do a great job of covering whatever game they're talking about. I listened to an older show that had the board game Zombiecide in it, they spoke about the quality of the product, the game mechanics and how the game played, they do this with every game they talk about. It's an informative show that isn't dry & boring. Thanks guys, love the show.

Excellent Podcast
Good discussion, interesting & varied topics, recommend listening to them. Wrote this 2 years ago. I'm still listening. Episode #116 was one of their best, very convincing discussion on Infinity Miniatures. I cannot recommend this podcast enough. Dave

Great Fun
If you want to know about Games on the market - not just war games, but games in general, this is the place to go. But not just satisfied with games they offer an eclectic offering of books and other goodies.

My favorite tabletop gaming podcast
I've been listening to the D6 Generation for a few years now. I have bought more games based on their reviews and musings than I care to admit. Their review style breaks down many of the key components that a prospective buyer should be interested in when listening to a game review while not devolving into an incomprehensible stream of gamer babble (usually, at least). Oftentimes Russ will speak far too quickly to be easily understood and Craig will come off as hating everything, but these are real gamers who have a clear and present passion for their hobby and for sharing that hobby with others. I'm a listener for life. Keep up the good work, guys!

Not a Brony at all
The most commercial of all gaming podcasts
Mixed in with tedious advertising, overly long segments, self-promotion, and many lengthy asides about non-gaming geekery, there's quite a professional show to be found, with Russ Wakelin being among the best podcast hosts in any genre I've ever heard. When the fellas really go deep about a game, it's enjoyable, but there's a very irritating amount of product promotion and upselling here.

Such a great podcast!
The D6G is really well done. A nice sprinkling of news, opinion and information, backed up with really solid reviews and interviews. The hosts have great rapport and keep things really positive. You really should be listening to this!

Absolutely love it!
This is my favorite podcast. I believe i have listened to well over 400 hours of this gamer nonsense. Cant wait for another 400!

Not too terrible!
I've really enjoyed this podcast. Frankly, I've just started listening to the VERY beginning of the show on the website and will continue thru al the episodes up to the present day. It's very well done and I really enjoy the banter and interplay between the hosts. I also appreciate that the guests who add variety, which is always good. I don't play wargames really, but I started this podcast to get an idea about the hobby but they cover quite a bit more than just wargames so there's really something for almost everyone so far.

Board game podcasting excellence
One of my podcasting faves. Easily one of the most consistent and professionally approached podcasts with the delightful "not too horrible" humor. I look forward to each new episode. If you want to get an idea of a game's quality or are just looking for an entertaining podcast listen to these guys.

Not as friendly in real life as they pretend to be. I mainly prefer to listen to Russ discuss his gaming, listen to the Dan Yarrington script, and turn it off.

Kind of like sports radio, but better
It's four hours of three or four guys (and one woman) talking about gaming (board-games, RPGs, miniatures). Each episode usually include a guest interview and a review of a game along with individual segments like Total Fan Girl or Do You Ever Notice. I compare it to sports radio (or TV), because both consist guys (and girls) talking about things that they like and arguing (occasionally quite vigorously) about strategy, aesthetics, and news. It's actually a lot better than sports radio, because the analysis is at a much higher level and analysts are talking about things they are actually going to do. There's no armchair quarter-backing because they actually play the games and report on how the games went. There are a lot of commercials and the Rapid Fire segment is one of the most confusing things I've ever encountered, but those are about ten minutes out of four solid hours of entertaining and informative podcasting.

Best Game Reviews, Some Filler
The guys at the D6G have been making excelent podcasts for the last few years and it shows. They are one of the ultimate staples in Board Game podcasting and, as such, are able to score some huge names in the business to come on and chat. I hold off buying games until I've heard them reviewed on this show, and have only disagreed with their opinions two or three times while finding several games that I now love. The extra segments and commercials can start to wear thin after a few episodes, but the core of the podcast more than makes up for it all. Overall, I rate the D6G a 3+ with a reroll, and if you love hobby games then 2+ with reroll.

Long, but worth it.
By far the most comprehensive podcast covering board games and miniatures games. Each episode is very long, but is chocked full of good content. The current format with Russ and Craig and a rotating third chair really mixes it up and keeps it fresh with each new episode.

Top Notch Podcast
The personalities and stories are very interesting. I really enjoy the indepth reviews and game play summaries. I've found it a great introduction to new games that I might be interested in. This is just a fantastic production and I look forward to each new episode. These guys are flat out entertaining!

These gentleman do a fantastic job paying homage to the many facets of the gaming hobby. I especially appreciate that they also provide viewpoints of gamers at different stages of their life: single, married, or otherwise. You will not be disappointed if you join the D6G!

A mature look at gaming
Been gaming since I was young, but young no more. The D6 Generation is right there too - a great source of information and general camraderie of gamers in their 40s and balancing the whole work, life and play aspects well. Always looking forward to the next episode, all four + hours worth!

Simply the best
This is the best podcast on the net, the topics, the length, and the host's personalities are simply fantastic. Highest possible recommendation if you are in to board games, or miniature games. Good work guys, keep it up!!

Great podcast
This podcast is just great. The dynamics between the hosts are a lot of fun to listen to. Topics are varied and seem to align well with my interests and production values are as close to professional as it gets.
