Love this podcast as I question a lot of my assumptions about theology, scripture, tradition, the Catholic Church. I was very interested in EO but Trent is making me really curious about Catholicism. I would add one (tongue in cheek) critique: Trent often compared Protestantism, EO, and Catholicism by saying Protestantism is Sola Scriptura, EO is scripture + tradition, and Catholicism is scripture + tradition + magisterium. I would say in my experience Protestantism is “solo” scripture + my feelings, and in many circles that solo scripture is thrown out entirely when it’s inconvenient.

Big fan of the Friday free for alls. 10/10 would review again.

Free for all Fridays feel very forced and unfunny. Just overly Trent-splaining things. If you met Trent at a party and he started talking about his free for all Friday topics, you’d probably leave to go get another drink. Everything else is great!!!

I'm a Protestant and Trent is just honestly one of my favorite Christian speakers/apologists out there. He challenges viewpoints but in the best kind of ways with a critical yet winsome manner. It's honestly hard not to respect his thoughts on the topics mentioned, whether you agree or not. You have to check it out to understand what I mean. The explicit mark by apple is a gross (and hilariously ironic) misnomer. Who's next, Greg Koukl, Bishop Barron....Veggie Tales? 🤷‍♂️

Trent Horn tackles some challenging subjects with a profound delicacy. He is succinct with his perspectives and respectful of others that disagree. Disgracefully, this podcast is rated explicit and I believe that is a maliciously misguided rating. I’m disgusted with Apple for what appears to be targeting of conservative Christian content. Do better Apple, treat your customers with the same charity Trent treats those who disagree with his perspectives. Thank you Trent for being such a wonderful role model!

I want to say thanks Trent for all you do! I truly appreciate your take on things and the logical arguments you put out to help defend the faith. I learn so much by listening to your show! That said, why did apple change the classification of this podcast to explicit. I have children who use my account and so I block explicit content through apple settings and am now forced to find this podcast elsewhere because of apple’s classification. Not a huge deal however given the incredible content!

My wife being brought up Protestant had so many questions about Catholicism that I as a cradle Catholic couldn’t answer. Hey Trent, big fan of the show, you’ve helped me with my conversion to the faith. I was baptized at age 37 after being an atheist roughly half my life and have gone full speed since . I have a wife and two children, and the conversion to the faith has brought us all closer in so many ways. We’re still a work in progress but I truly feel we are on the right path. Would love to talk to you sometime as I have quite the story of conversion.

To take communion without being confirmed into the church is like trying to hear and forgive sins as a priest without having hands laid upon you in ordination , even though you have the rest of the qualifications

If I were abusing children, truly sorry for my actions, and sought absolution, I should be willing to seek counseling to help overcome that desire. In fact, I would confess to law enforcement as well…

This is one of my favorite podcasts and one I support financially. The Counsel of Trent was also one of the main resources I utilized during my journey into the Catholic Church. Trent Horn is an excellent defender of the Faith, and I enjoy the format of this podcast. He covers topics that are important to me, which I appreciate, and he does so in an accessible way. Many Catholic podcasts have episodes that are well over an hour in length, which can be overwhelming at times, but most of Trent’s episodes are 20-30 minutes long so he gets right to the point. I enjoy the longer podcasts, too, but it is nice to have a quality podcast that isn’t a big time commitment each episode. Thanks, Trent!

I look forward to listening to nearly every episode, as Trent does such a great job logically defending Catholicism. Definitely helps me approach current events and objections. I rarely listen to the free for all Fridays, but it’s just not my thing and I’m glad Trent takes time to talk about fun things that he enjoys.

I found out about Trent after turning off most secular media due to negativity! I was motivated by another catholic intellectual to get my Masters of Arts in theology at Holy Apostles, where Trent teaches! I did not take his class but if you listen to his show regularly I guarantee you will become a strong apologist!

If I had to shotgun my rankings, then Counsel of Trent definitely hits top 3, could be #1, in my opinion. The episodes are easily digestible, concise and yet super-informative. Trent is an amazing host! Although he is highly intelligent, he doesn’t come off as being arrogant. He sounds friendly, like just the type of Catholic I’d love to learn from and one day meet. As I a brother in Christ, keep it up, because you help me learn the faith, so I can be a better priest to my family. Prayers and blessings for you and your family!

Trent has catechized me and helped to open my heart to the Lord though greater knowledge of him. I’ve been able to better explain issues on and teachings of the Catholic Church to my children and others largely because of the work that Trent and all who contribute to this podcast do. Trent is a first-rate Catholic and pro-life apologist. His arguments and approaches are almost always the best you will find on many subjects. He is also a humble man who will break down these subjects for entry-level learners.

Trent Horn is a gift to the world of Catholic apologetics and always give a clear and faithful interpretation of secular and ecclesiastical events. His defense of tough teachings, such as abortion, contraception, and other prominent social issues, is too notch. He is a true voice of reason in a troubled world, and I thoroughly enjoy his podcast.

First off, the name of the podcast cannot be beat. I love a good play on words. Trent finds the most interesting topics, researches and thinks diligently on the subject, and provides to the audience a very thoughtful, thorough, and engaging commentary. And he does this in a very charitable way when pointing out opposing viewpoints before refuting them.

Trent Horn is a fantastic apologist. This podcast is a wonderful resource for defending the faith.
