Hands Down The Best BN Show
I caught onto the Sour Hour about five months ago, and have now listened to every episode. I knew it was a great show, but I didn’t know how good until I was all caught up, and had to listen to that other BN show, which for the record is painful to listen to. I’ve learned so much from listening, and it has taken my sour home brewing to a whole new level. Keep up the great work guys! P.S. I’m a RB club member and I’d really like to know if RB bottle dregs are harvestable. Maybe this could be mentioned on a future show?

Shoutout to Almanac
Shoutout to Almanac. I’ve liStened to every episode of the Sour Hour and I regularly Hear “shoutouts” tO worthy recipients. Shoutout to Almanac for taking shoutouts to qUinTple IPA levels. A Life-changing Room Full of Heroes
Clearly the best BN show. The BN studio is a room full of heroes during the Sour Hour and a room full of zeroes during that other show. That said your greatest contribution to my life has been turning me onto the “Around the NFL” podcast. Thanks Jay! I don’t think I would have found ATN without you!

Better than The Session
Great show, very informative, fun guests. Need to get Levi on from Funk Factory. No need for RB staff shows, those are beyond painful to listen to more than 5 minutes. I use the golden sour recipe for my mixed culture beers, thank you for sharing.

Best sour beer podcast out there. 3 stars, max for the style
Great show, super informational and occasionally awkward but in “the office” tv show type of way. Scotttttttttttttttt reminds me of Michael Scott sometimes. Rejoiner: No endz, no skinz - Big L (Instrumental version, the songs a bit not suitable for work/podcast)

Informational and Entertaining
The sour hour has consistently been both informational and entertaining since it’s inception. There’s literally no episode where you won’t find valuable information while cracking up at Jay and Scottt’s weird humor. The Session, on the other hand, is a plague. I’m afraid for my life. After listening to just 30 seconds of the session, a “Ring”-like sequence occurred where I received a phone call from my own phone number with a raspy voice informing me that in seven days, all of my mixed fermentations will be riddled with high concentrations of THP. I immediately wet my pants and dumped all of my beer that I’ve been carefully shepherding for months. My house smells like mouse piss and cheerios. Do not listen to the Session. They will ruin your beer and invade your dreams. Run. If/When y’all ever have Holy Mountain on, rejoiner suggestion would have to be Cough - Haunter of the Dark.

Getting Goofy and Sour
The Brewing Network has been a magnificent find for me as a craft beer lover and new homebrewer. The Sour Hour is like the low key cool guy in the room. It’ll show you a good time. Song suggestion: Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes -Justin

Best BN show! - 3 stars
Opening a brewery in a couple months (in Ellijay Ga{shameless plug}) and this show has been such a valuable resource for figuring out how to (hopefully) do right by my favorite beer style. I’m on ep 34, but I also listen to new episodes as they get posted. This show is much better than any other BN show, especially the Session. 3/5 stars!

Just started, way behind, but LOVE IT!!
As my title says, I’ve just started listening to this podcast. I learned of it about 6-months ago but just started listening 2-weeks ago and I’m through Episode 8 (311 Day, BTW, as if I needed anymore reassurance that this podcast is legit...) I love it. I’ve been drinking sour beer since 2010, started with Consecration, and have been hooked since. I’m going to get through all of these episodes and keep listening into the future. Keep it up!

Sweet nectar for the ears!
After years of listening to almost every brewing podcast out there like the Session, which must get their name from being weak and pale, the Sour Hour takes the cake. Not only does Jay provide knowledgeable and thorough experience to help you with your own sour program. Jay, Scottt, and sometimes Beevo always provide a hilarious and funny platform that anybody can enjoy. I will always recommend to any brewer, sour or clean, to listen to the Sour Hour! Keep up the great work guys! Song recommendation: New Noise by Refused. Expect some beers soon! Fermata Brewing -Paul

It wasn't Sulfuric acid after all
As I walked around the tasting room during the 5th anniversary party, I noticed many of the barrels had SO3 + H2O written on them. I found this curious because SO3 + H2O --> H2SO4, otherwise known as Sulfuric acid. Just days later I was listening to episode 82 and it then it made sense, it was steamed Ozone! I am an Enology student (Chem heavy) at Fresno State and have started listening to your podcast during the commute. The podcast is fun and informative at times. Keep up the good work!

A show to end all shows
Dear Jay and Moscow, I was highly impressed by the ingenuity you and the Rare Barrel bring to the show. The topics, while being exceedingly difficult, are handled with ease by the professionals you constantly bring to the show. Clearly you should continue for an eternity everything is great please play Lazzarus Q’s “Goodbye Horses” kthnxbye

Cheers to Jay & Moscow
Look forward to this podcast. The shenanigans mixed with sour knowledge is a breath of fresh sour in your face. Highly recommend. My favorite episode by far was #29 the first staff visit from the Rare Barrel. Every home brewer can lean something and be entertained. Best show. ☺️👍🏻🍻

Everything that is right in the world
Unlike the Session... The Sour Hour represents all that is right in the world. I really enjoy the Informative guests, as well as the great insights on how to make good sour beer from day one. I've used what I've learned from the show to greatly improve the results of my sour beer life. - Ed

Super grateful for what you guys do. Also, here’s a “rejoiner” suggestion. Fall Apart by Maps & Atlases. Specifically from 0:52-1:26. Hope you guys like it. Stay sour!

SnoTrappé brewing homebrew
Just recently started listening to the sour hour and I am amazed with the amount of information (most) episodes have. What's even happening on the session?the only thing you need is two brew goo rhu commercials per episode. I'm working on a lot of sours this summer. Looking for low acid "boat beers" for this south Florida summer, definitely adding fruit to some. Great show trying to listen to listen to them all. 100 proof by 88 fingers Louis Mike snow SnoTrappé home brewing

Excellent!
Thanks guys...never listened to podcasts before, being a stodgier Gen Y and all. Your excellent guests and commentary enliven the smelly, crowded commute. The Session is probably great, but I don't listen to it. Try the first track on Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow album (You Know What I Mean) as a rejoiner. Funky!

Unsessionable
I made the lethal mistake of trying the Session. After a mind numbing 45 minutes of listening about video games, concerts, and the price of jeans I realized that the subject of beer was never even thought touched. How do you have a beer podcast that's not about beer?! I'm going to start a podcast called Master Brewing Tips and just talk about my dog and Seinfeld episodes. Now I have to find a Delorean so I can go back in time and break my phone to save me from that hot mess of a show. Oh and nice job Jay and Scottt (or is it Scotttt?) Sour Todd

Great show...
Like it. I’ve learned a lot from these episodes. Good range of guests and Jay lets them do the talking without hogging the show Only downside is that Scott comes across as a bit of a chauvinist in his comments about Bevo (sp?) which are at times cringeworthy.

Educational and fun
Awesome show. The guests are the best sour brewers in the country and there’s a ton of info for pro brewers and home brewers alike.

White Russians and encouragement.
I had almost given up on my TBN podcast journey after painstakingly listening to an episode of The Session. I gave the Network another chance and WOW is this a great podcast! Jayy and Scottt really have a knack for conveying a pretty dang complex topic. I just finished all (64 at this time) episodes and starting over tomorrow! Since I’ve started listening I’ve gained so much more confidence in brewing my sour beer, and have applied numerous techniques I learned here. Hopefully I will be able to catch the show live! Which you can over at the brewing networks webpage or their app! If you’re looking for great conversations, interesting beer names, and further confidence in your sour brewing - look no further. Thanks guys! P.s. Check out the track “Transitions” by El Ten Eleven. Lots of cool options for your “transitions” and reintros.

My favorite podcast!
I listen to all the BN's shows, even the juicy podcast with the MIA host aka The Session, but The Sour Hour tops them all. I'm on my 3rd trip through all the episodes, and still finding little gems of knowledge and ideas for my sours. I also heard JP wants pictures of juicy IPAs sent to his email. Fantastic Info, Required Listening for the Sour Brewer
This show is top-to-bottom filled with amazing information. If you're at all interested in brewing sour beer, these interviews cover everything. But, it's not just for the beginner, they cover intermediate and advanced topics in every episode as well. Jay and Scott are entertaining as well. It's great from episode one!

Great podcast
Before I started listening to this podcast I made good beer but wanted to get to the next level. After listening to this podcast and taking its advice my beers have definitely changed. They are all sour and taste infected. I can't believe I bothered listening to The Session. Terrible advice.

Great show
This show is what the session isn't. Informative. Funny. Good looking. If you want to learn about the best sour beer production and who is making it, listen to the sour hour...aka the bizarro-session!

Easily the worst...
Easliy the worst show on the Brewing Network, the Session will go down in history as the biggest piece of crap podcast ever created. The Session's mere existence is an atrocity- a violation of human rights so abhorent I've considered lighting myself on fire Tibetan monk style in protest. The Session... what a bunch of jabronies.

Wish there was more
My criticism is also my praise for the show: I wish there was more of it. I miss the old longer episodes and I wish they put out episodes more frequently. Regardless, this is a fantastic podcast ... my favorite beer podcast. Jay is an incredible host, the guests are great. Stay sour.

Thank-you!
For saving me from having to listen to the juvinial antics of the Session. Thier junior high potty humor and failed attempt to be like a Howard Stern show copy, gets old very old and tiring, very fast. I do believe you've struck gold here, as my sour game has defiantly improved since listening....keep up the great work!

Becoming my Favorite Podcast
This podcast is really quite something for sour beer brewers and it’s no surprise that the show has ensorcelled so many. It’s truly a proportional response by the BN to the rise in popularity of sour beers. The Sour Hour is so much better than the BN’s flagship show, The Session. Due to forces unseen, The Session crew feel the need to feed the flatulent monster or release supermassive belches on air apropos of nothing, whereas The Sour Hour is full of keen observations.

Great Sour Beer Info
THE podcast source for information on brewing sour beers. It is also like a good toothbrushing after the throw up burp that is the Session.
Wonky Tree
Much better than The Session
The Sour Hour is like a particularly disorganized episode of Howard Stern mixed with an informative sour beer brewing show, but in a good way. Also, don't listen to The Session. It's terrible in every way. Truly an offense to the senses and a plague on all life on Earth.

Best beer radio available until the Hot Beer Hour comes
50 episodes thus far of instilling confidence in a growing sour brewing community which is a fresh contrast to whatever that train wreck on Monday nights is supposedly doling out.

Great Podcast
Just started listening to the sour hour and really been enjoying it. Don't know too much about making sour beer but the discussions are still easy to follow and entertaining.

Best brewer in my garage
Love the show! Jay and Scottt do a great job of getting the guests to break down their processes. Beevo stay unprepared for the beginning of the show. The biggest mistake in making sour beer is listening to The Session. Every time I listen to The Session I feel like I just lost those hours of my life and I'm never gonna get them back.
