Real People, Real Christians
Erin, Jamie, Evan, and Knox are relatable, funny, and so much fun! They provided me a voice to describe some of the things that I’ve experienced growing in the church and for that I’m so thankful! I used to think that I was the only one that struggled with certain things, and was so grateful when I came across this through the Popcast. Thank you guys so much! 🤍

Open Hearts and Open Minds
The one thing I know about my faith and beliefs is that I really don’t know near as much as I once thought I did. Jesus is central and always will be!!!! Evan, Jamie, Erin, and Knox take the listeners to places that are thought-provoking, fun, serious, and ridiculous. I always laugh and I always have something to think about, research, and pray over. Love this podcast! Love these 4 individuals (not in a creepy way). Evan is delightful, learned, caring, and I love it when Evan gets a bit nervous and starts sweating. Erin is a hoot while have a lot of knowledge. Jamie is open and many times off the rails which is a wild ride. Don’t read the reviews from those that only gave you 1 star. They are angry and misguided people albeit with faith. G-D doesn’t need our protection or righteous anger, HE wants a relationship with us which means we LOVE HIM with all that we are and we LOVE Others! Loving others doesn’t include the 1 star comments. Love you!!!!!

Oh my *5* Stars!! Clutch my pearls!
I LOVE this podcast! It is equal parts thought-provoking, open-handed soul-searching and laugh out loud alone in your car (or accidentally in a public coffee shop). Life went sideways for a few months so I now have the glorious opportunity to play catch up and binge 3 months of episodes. Just listened to “Praise hands of gratitude” and laughed literally out loud no less than 5 times. I also had a random friend reach out about faith and the LGBTQIA+ community in the church and was able to share that incredible episode. If you are digging deeper in your faith or sifting through “what you’ve always been told” or just curious about the Christian faith in general, Faith Adjacent is a welcome breath of fresh air!

Disappointed
The original Bible Binge was a show that read, explored, and discussed scripture. Questions were raised and a thoughtful interpretation was offered. It was a show that led todays listeners to read the Bible. Over time the podcast has evolved, hence the new name Faith Adjacent, into a platform that tends to focus on the flaws of the Bible and Christianity. As a Christian the show’s new focus and tireless rants make me feel flawed, ignorant and hopeless. While I have felt this way for the past 6 - 8 months, I’ve continued to follow and listen to the show hoping that the flaws and rants would subside. I’m just disappointed in various ways.

Woke Fake “Christians”
This podcast is 0% Christian and 100% Worship of Satan and self. Most recent episode has: A male host talking about lusting after another man’s body. Open mockery of abstinence in favor of rampant sexual sin. Open blasphemy regarding a woman’s place via the literal word of God. Basically saying Christians for following the Bible is misogynistic. Anti-Christian values. Essentially this is a progressive LGBTQ sin worship, of this world not of God, podcast hosted by 3 confused, unrepentant, wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Apparently the word of God doesn’t matter anymore
No, I don’t think hearing a guy talk about being attracted to another guy’s body belongs on a Christian podcast. No, I don’t think y’all should say purity culture will land you in therapy and sleeping around before marriage is totally fine. What happened happened that made y’all stray so much?? Feel like Satan took the wheel on this last episode.

Biblically Sound AND Funny? Yes please
Jamie, Knox, Evan, and Erin’s approach to Christianity is refreshingly humble, humorous, and historically accurate. The nuance and context they provide has deepened my faith and let me know I’m not alone on my faith walk.

Love love love
Jamie, Knox, and Erin invite everyone to the table in the way they graciously discuss all things faith. They truly give space for everyone and it’s so refreshing. I am comforted and uplifted every time I listen. And also I laugh which is maybe the most important. Thanks for giving us permission to “faith” differently. Love you guys!

Thank you
The podcast started my faith journey and I will truly miss the classic episodes. Thank you all for your time and perspectives.

Great Bible study companion
These two are hilarious, humble and insightful. What a combo. Highly recommended if you want to review your understanding of classic characters as well as gain new perspectives. I’ve downloaded almost all episodes onto a USB drive in case they ever take them off. It does bother me that Jaime never laughs at Knox’s hilarious intros jk jk

My eyes are opened
Erin, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and informative historical context of what is currently happening in the Middle East. As someone who was raised in the Midwest as a white evangelical woman the last part of the podcast regarding Israel being a ‘means to an end’ was just staggeringly eye opening. Growing up that world view was the water I swam in and I was today years old when I realized it. Wow! I have always been a huge fan of the work you do and have subscribed to everything you write and today you have done the Lord’s work in me. My heart is forever changed. Thank you and keep fighting for what you believe in- it’s so worth it!! Steph

You were here right when I needed you
Thank you for being here right when I was praying for something like this. I have to introduce my teenage children to church for the first time and this is what I want them to hear before I bring them. Thank you

Just what I've been searching for
Thank you all for facilitating these awesome discussions. My heart has been searching for content that helps me re-examine ideals I have been taught my whole life. It is refreshing to hear different takes about Christianity, personal faith, growth and community. Well done.

Thankful for the Permission to Reconsider
I’m so thankful for the Faith Adjacent team and all of their studying, careful though, and kind intentions towards their listeners. They don’t need me to defend them, but to all of the individuals leaving hate reviews—I wish you would pause to consider that they are simply giving us permission to reconsider the things we have learned. Otherwise, many of us would have left the faith all together. To be alive is to grow and change. If our faith is alive, of course, it will be evolving constantly. Thanks Erin, Jamie, Knox, and team. You are so appreciated and doing good, holy work.

AWESOME
I just discovered this gem! I’m trying to eliminate unnecessary expenses (I got rid of cable) and also detoxify my brain from Social Media mess! Podcast & good old fashioned reading are my new M.O while also shifting my focus towards gratitude & kindness.I’ve only listen to one episode-Adam &Eve. I will be trying to listen to these in order. The content was great & I loved the humor. I keep picturing the Bible story books that were in the doctors and dentists office of my childhood. I’m hoping you’ll make a reference to those at some point. Thanks for your hard work!

Honest Discussion
I really appreciate the honors conversations on this podcast. The Kid You Not episode have helped me to stop stressing about how I guide my kids and start thinking about what works for our family.

A breath of fresh air
As someone who has been renovating her faith, the candor and emotional honesty of this show has given me confidence in leaning into my personal, unique relationship with God and Jesus.

This is great.
Just wanted to let y’all know I love the Gays, I don’t care where or if Erin gets/has a degree. I do think Knox and Jamie are a little full of themselves sometimes, but not always, and when they are, I’m here for it. In all seriousness, this podcast has helped me really come to terms with what I actually believe about God. It’s insightful, honest, helpful, kind, and open.

Great show
I am a longtime popcast listener and also enjoy Faith Adjacent. It challenges me to think more deeply about my faith. Do I agree with everything they say? No, and that’s ok! To loosely quote Aristotle, “the mark of an educated mind is the ability to entertain a thought without accepting it”

Thank you!
This podcast has helped me start to ask nuanced questions and unpack and examine my faith in a way that truly feels authentic and Spirit Driven. Thank you Erin and the entire team for the space you have created

Helps me feel normal
Love the Bible Binge/Faith Adj pod! As a midlife deconstructor-putting the pieces back together girl, I end every episode looking in the mirror saying, See? You’re not so not normal.

The best
I’m a whole pastor’s spouse & this is hands down my favorite faith(ish) podcast. I have a complicated relationship with the church & Faith Adjacent brings the joy & laughter back into faith discussions.

Way downhill
This podcast was great but they have sacrificed diving into the word deeper for popularity with the world’s standards now. Another casualty in the name of “progress”…..
RDA_1986
Content went downhill
Used to enjoy this show, but the content and tone changed over time, shifting the focus to politics and a cynical distaste for those who come from a different background or perspective rather than focusing on how much Christians actually have in common. After a while, church bashing just gets a little tiresome and not enjoyable. Having lived in Alabama I understand their annoyance; having also lived in New York, I can’t help thinking they clearly have no experience of the annoying aspects of the other side of the coin. There used to be a humble, humorous, honest look at the Bible… but that’s not the tone anymore. When you think everyone who doesn’t see the world exactly like you is narrow-minded, maybe it’s time to look in the mirror.

Skip this Podcast
Used to love this podcast and recommended it to so many people, but they have changed so much. So disappointing to see their lack of respect for God’s word. It’s honestly very sad. Entertaining maybe, but ZERO biblical truth in this podcast. Please be careful when listening to this podcast. Proceed with caution!

Used to be a Patreon member
I used to be a Patreon member of both Popcast and BB. I told everyone about this show, bought both of Knox’s books. While I think they are talented and funny hosts while discussing pop culture, I finally had to unfollow both podcasts. I think they are steering people away from the true Gospel with their progressiveness. If you think one story in the Bible isn’t true, why believe any of it? You can’t pick and choose what you think scripture is saying just because it’s ‘not cool’ to say homosexual behavior is a sin. You can’t outlove God. He is love.

Perfection
For some people, delivery of scripture in a overly reverent fashion is a barrier to knowing Christ and deepening Faith. Christian Schmaltz is my kryptonite, and it’s everywhere. This podcast has changed my life. I hope the naysayers can open their hearts and realize God calls to all His children in different ways. This is the way He has reached me.

A safe place to ask questions
I was spinning in Faith free zone for years after a personal tragedy. This podcast and its honesty and hilarity slowly pulled me back into orbit and I finally feel in a healthy enough space to re-engage with my faith. Thank you so much.

Disappointing
Really liked earlier content but the more I listened there were some major issues that couldn’t be overlooked. Plus, I tried to contact the show through two channels and they were unresponsive. It’s been weeks and I still haven’t heard a thing. I would’ve considered coming back as a listener if I had received a valid response but not responding at all I just can’t.

I like Leviticus! 😂 (in response to LGBTQIA+ episode)
I didn’t know where else to comment, and y’all said you wanted to hear from someone who likes Leviticus. I was not excited about reading Leviticus earlier this year, but I hard the Spirit say, “look for Jesus” as you read, and boy did I see Jesus EVERYWHERE. The instructions of the building the Tabernacle aren’t exciting, but the Tabernacle itself is a GORGEOUS representation of Christ. Reading about all the sacrifices the Israelites had to do to attempt to atone for their sins makes it stunningly clear that we can’t ever atone for our sins without the blood of Christ, and makes it abundantly clear how desperately we need Jesus. Reading about sins isn’t fun, but again - it’s outlining how desperately we need Jesus. Love y’all, and God bless! ❤️

Puffed Up
These hosts are incredibly judgmental. They are so sure they are right on every topic they cover and they misrepresent opposing opinions in pretty much every episode. I appreciate their friendship and funny banter. It would be great if they would actually engage with some heavy hitters who have differing opinions. I would love to hear them have a thoughtful discussion with believers who hold different viewpoints. Unfortunately, I think they’re too proud of their own opinions to welcome much push back.

Why?
I have been a long time listener of TBB. I enjoyed the show, not always agreeing but I’m fine with listening when I don’t agree. There has been a shift in the show over the past year. The constant mocking of the church, while I know it’s flawed I don’t understand the mocking and putting down of people. In the beginning of your podcasts you were building your company on the backs of the community of these white southern churchgoers you seem to have so much disdain for now.

0 stars, so sad, un-following
All I got to say is maybe you need to re-binge your Bible. Maybe start in Romans 1:27 and also Remind yourself that ALL SCRIPTURE is GOD BREATHED. That we can’t pick and chose to accept certain verses because it’s uncool etc. This is what scares me about the church today. We are allowing satan to convince us that certain scriptures no longer apply. That it’s easier to just go along then stand up for how God created our unique bodies. How completely arrogant are people who think they know better or more than God? Saying how He created you is wrong is extremely arrogant and Christian’s who do this should take a long hard look at creation and how God intended for marriage and love to be. I could go on but I will leave it at this.

Radically Compassionate
I am consistently surprised at the way the hosts of The Bible Binge are able to delicately handle sensitive topics. They are not afraid to approach complicated faith discussions, but they do so in an incredibly compassionate and kind way. They make space at the table for everyone, all different kinds of interpretations and experiences, and they openly share their own. It’s abundantly clear that they are each working to love Jesus as much as they can while navigating what that looks like individually for them. They walk the line of thoughtfulness and humor so brilliantly, while still being respectful and honoring. Their show is a highlight of the week for me.

Disappointed
You guys had my weekly listenership for years. I recommended you to my own podcast listeners and bible study girls. Your recent episode has me extremely disappointed. You’ve lost a long time fan, not just because I disagree but because you are no longer trusted Bible teachers for me. And while I’ve appreciated the candor and lack of legalism you’ve lead with in the past this episode took it way too far. I have unsubscribed and have issued a public apology for promoting your content to my listeners and followers. Hoping the truth will return to your teaching and you will see the errors made here. Until then you have lost me as a listener.

What in the actual heck
“LGBTQIA+ Christians should be fully affirmed and accepted within the church in all ways.” This makes me thankful to be in a church community where men, who think they are women, are gotten the help they need. It is not “accepted within the church in all ways” for these men to take our girls to youth camp, the bathroom, or anywhere for that matter.

Maybe Listen for Fun but not Knowledge
Please do not listen to this podcast to gain any Biblical knowledge. Though they claim to have done research and read commentaries it appears the hosts have nothing but contempt for the Bible and Christianity. They are showing no respect for God and his holiness. Yes, God loves us all, but he hates sin! The only hope we have in this world is through the saving grace of Jesus. None of us are holy not even one!

Contemptuous
So many people in the reviews identify with these hosts- wounded or weary of the broken people and shallow traditions today’s Christianity offers. I’m devastated these people are turning to this podcast in their weariness. Because rather than receiving the life-giving, hope-filled, refining, soul-quenching teachings of Jesus and Scripture, the hosts take a seat right next to these weary folk, and tickle their ears, disdaining the brokenness of people and faith traditions. They cast pretentious stones of judgment on Christians- somehow associating, yet also dissociating, from these people. The tone is “come here let’s talk casually about our shared faith experiences” with a huge side of “I can’t believe these {other} Christians!” I’ve heard contempt for one’s spouse is the most dangerous emotion in a marriage. The perspective of the Bible Binge is contemptuous. It minimizes Christian traditions, Spiritual and biblical wisdom, and authentic faith. The hosts have distanced themselves from Truth (the Bible isn’t completely trustworthy, they say), and isolated themselves from Christian community or authority (many if not all talk about no longer being involved in Christian church community). Therefore, it’s no surprise to me that Bible binge hosts are puttering out of energy, and taking “faith sabbaticals.” For so long, they have satirized the Word of God, so they’re left being powered by their own intellect and human wisdom. Exhausting. Although they claim to know God, they neither worship Him nor give thanks to Him, so their foolish hearts have been darkened. While claiming to be wise, they have become foolish. If you’re interested in having your ears tickled about how broken our churches and cultures are, keep listening. If you want healing, spiritual growth, and to be a contributing member of God’s Kingdom, this podcast will not only waste your time but could be extremely dangerous for your faith journey. I would recommend podcasts by Annie F. Downs, Lisa Harper’s Back Porch Theology, The Basement, The Bible Project, Therapy & Theology, or The Luskos. Hosts and producers… I’m not sure what kind of church or human pain you’ve experienced. I’m sorry for it. I hate it for you. Please go heal somewhere else and don’t publicly mislead others in the process. This show is not teaching biblical literacy, but biblical contempt. If it continues in this contempt, please consider rebranding.

Irreverent and inappropriate
I can understand wanting to make the Bible “interesting” and “accessible,” but misquoting Scripture, joking about anal milking and cocks, is highly inappropriate and a HARD PASS for me. For examples of all of the above, see episode titled,”SWDGISS: Temples.

Great podcast - Faith Sabbatical timely for me
Absolutely amazing podcast and love you all. In a ‘forsaken’ phase of the faith sabbatical, I guess you could say, as just recently left my church choir after some very difficult dynamics and transition. These decisions and changes are not easy and I’m still processing mine, this episode helped give me center. The journey of faith is a long and winding road each of us are on. Thank you and keep up the great work!!!

Approachable Faith Discussions
A lot of the beliefs I’ve held for so long are changing. I appreciate the fun, approachable, yet informed discussions about questions I and apparently so many others have too! I love the folks at The Popcast with Knox and Jamie and was more than happy to check out The Bible Bing to hear them talk about these big questions.

A place of honesty and safety
There are few places in the world where people can just be honest and feel safe with all their questions about God, faith and stories from the Bible. Welcome to a place such as this! Normal people having normal discussions about things that matter. I have laughed, cried and struggled, but I have always walked away being glad that I was here in this place with The Bible Binge. Head up and heart strong you guys! Thank you from the bottom of my butt because it’s bigger than my heart! Haha!

Changing my faith for the better!!!
The Popcast has coached me these many months through shifting my faith, which has felt as seismic as a mountain moving. I can be affirming for my LGBTQ brothers and sisters. I can quit complementarianism. I can be convinced of an Old Earth presupposition when reading scripture. I can hold these tensions loosely and find Jesus in the cracks. THANK YOU. Thank you @jamiebgolden, thank you @knoxmccoy, thank you @erinhmoon. You’ve changed my life, and made me smile, and I love you all so much ❤️

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this podcast!! All episodes!!! The ONLY comment I could make is: I wish I could hear FASTER. YOU ladies are precious and I DO listen as fast as I can, but I’m sure I miss a lot because you talk so fast. Is it possible, maybe(?), to speak just a scosh slower? I wouldn’t change anything else, and I will continue to listen as fast as I can because I love it (Bible Binge) so much!!! Judy Payne 77 yrs old

A must listen!
Long time fan, but coming here to say that the fresh content being added in 2023 (particularly the I Kid You Not episodes) are so great! I teach Sunday school to 3 & 4 year olds, am a mom to a 2 year old and was raised in a conservative evangelical church my whole life. The content I find here not only helps me think about and learn new ways to express the Bible to littles, but also stretches the way I think about these stories myself. I have had such healthy reflection on my childhood in church and the way I view my faith now. I would highly recommend adding this to your list of regular podcasts, you won’t regret it!
