The show is excellent and the host is a breath of fresh air compared to the “woke” tendencies of many other popular podcasters of this genre. The only problem is often the audio footage of interviews and such are difficult or impossible to understand.

Yeah, I’ve stuck with Mike through the controversy, and supported him, but I’m done. Dude is a moron, thinks he’s smart. It’s hard to listen to him pontificate in unbecoming ways, while talking about murder.

I’m one of your whiny libtards and even I have to admit you do it better than anyone in this space. Listen to S&S then listen to the same case in Dateline or 20/20. You tell the story better and get deeper than any other show. I’ve been a listener for about 10 years. I like your adlibs your judgements are always fair. I admire your tenacity with your business, I used to own a construction company and it’s tough out there. You’ve made tough decisions and you’re still growing because you’re a workhorse, much respect! Inspired to finally leave a review because the Naomi Jones case is your best content yet, that investigator was fire and we all get that because you take the time FOIA all the tapes. You are good at this because you let subjects do the talking and you provide the connective tissue. I take no issue with your editorializing because you’re the storyteller and the message is always pro-social and told in respect to the victims. I’ve waxed on disjointedly enough, never change Mike.

Always loved your story telling ability, I am just curious if there are other shows your subscribers get or if they were really just paying $5/episode? This is by far the most expensive podcast subscription I’ve seen also with the least amount of content for the cost?? Still hope it goes well for you!

Used to love this show, but the host likes to blab his mouth complaining about the listeners constantly. Really arrogant and annoying energy, tried to preserver but it’s really not worth it anymore

I stumbled across Sword and Scale Nightmares a month or so ago and was so sad when I plowed through all of the episodes really quickly. I was poking around the other day, looking for more true crime pods and Sword and Scale. I am so happy to have more episodes. Mike is exactly my speed in terms of narration & commentary; dark in all the right places and empathetic when it calls for it. Thank you!!

So many true crime podcasts recycle the same stories and are as enjoyable as the annual visit to the gynecologist. This podcast keeps your attention the host has a certain charm that not everyone will enjoy but I sure do. The true crime stories are well researched and always keeps the focus on the victims and the family. The best part is that the host and his team are not a bunch of lazy storytellers. They find stories that I haven’t even heard of. Good stuff! I look forward to hearing more Violet

This channel was Recommend to me by a friend and I'm so happy she did! I love that there is no small talk and includes actual audio from witnesses and news coverage. Very informative in all the ways. Host has a nice speaking voice. The ONLY negative I get from it is the dramatic pauses the host makes almost constantly where they don't belong. Sometimes it's like listening to William shatner tell a story. Not the worst thing but gets annoying fast.

Been listening to sword and scale since 2018, found this podcast on my own and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. The host cares about victims and shares their stories bc they deserve to be told. Ignore those clowns giving poor reviews, try listening and judge for yourself.

A flawless and unique take on cases that captures the essence of the villians in the most dead on and sometimes hilarious fashion. His commentary kills me, and pretty much takes the words right out of my mouth. Perfect combo of storytelling, setting the stage, digging into the details and does such wonderful work. I’ll tolerate and maybe even enjoy those dubstep intros, haha. I’m downright addicted!!

I like how uncensored this podcast is and the real recordings. The host can be abrasive at times but he has a mellow voice. Rock on

I finished all the episodes including the plus episodes I’m quite sad now I’m bored I have to wait they are so good if you listen to mikes voice from the beginning and as he goes through you can here a very distinct change in his tone he talks about the worst people in the world and all people can do is complain about how he says words or his politics but he’s trying to get people to see and understand the victims and the families side of the story that’s what’s great about him if I could give him 10 stars I would take care of yourself mike wyou sound a little like me with PTSD if you the people out here, listen to his show all you know need to know is that his show is the best and you will not be disappointed and people need to learn to lighten up and understand that going through all of that stuff to research a show to give you an episode has got to weigh heavy on a persons, mind and heart so giveHim a break and just listen to what he’s trying to teach you let’s stop the violence let’s stop the killing so he doesn’t have to do. This show is just trying to teach everyone that evil is real and give everyone a way to know how to see it in front of you so you can be safe because these victims and their families could be you and your family and if he can save one family the pain that these families are in. I’m not sure this man understands (or cares) what is inappropriate to come out of ones mouth. Today I listened to the harrowing case about Jessica Lynne Reale and her sister (Ep 259). Her sister is murdered, dismembered and burned in this episode, and Mike Boudet sees this horrific happening as a chance to mention the smell of burning bodies and his preference of bbq pellet grill (direct quote: “me? I like the Traeger. It’s easy to keep your temps regulated and there are all sorts of flavors of pellets to choose from. I like the hickory. A lot of people like apple, but I like hickory. Smells pretty good. Leaves a nice, sharp, smoky taste on your meats. Anyway….”). Needless to say, comparing a toddler’s burning body in a fireplace to a “backyard bbq cookout” might be one of the most foul and disrespectful things I’ve ever heard on a true crime podcast. You, Mike Boudet, are a disgusting human being and should be canceled.

Love this Podcast! The best storyteller out there. Not a fan of the Biden ad I just heard on today’s episode though.

I love that his podcast doesn’t have a co-host. Other shows with a co-host, there’s too much banter and opinions and takes away from the story and the facts. I also really appreciate that a lot of the show is made up of real audio in relation to the case being covered. I’ve listened to almost all the seasons and getting close to where I’m going to have to subscribe to get more content. But I know I’ll be worth it when that happens. Thanks for doing a good job.

Love hearing the stories but at the same time I cannot stand listening to the host. His opinions and his presentation are not the greatest.

I used to listen to this show religiously years ago before Boudet became a right wing hack spewing tired talking points like he’s true crime’s Alex Jones. I haven’t listened in ages, but decided to give it a try just to see if anything had changed. He talked about a little girl’s burning body and devolved into talk about the scent of his smoked meats. I’m not easily offended, but that’s just disgusting. But knowing the source, it’s unsurprising.

I have been with this show since 2014. I have been a plus member since then. I love everything about this series but recently my credit card was compromised and I wasn’t sure which card I was using to pay for my subscription and I didn’t receive any emails telling me that my payment didn’t go through so my account was cancelled. I now have to pay double for something that was not my fault. It seems very unfair to me that I can’t be grandfathered in after 10 years of being a member.

The 911 calls and interviews make my skin crawl and every episode feels like a living nightmare. I love it and want to listen to every episode. My only critique as a new listener is that the host does not discuss people who have mental illness(es) with care. It seems like he’s trying to make it a joke but it’s not funny. Regardless of their abhorrent actions and depravity, they are real people. Do better.

He’s great but I wish he would clean up his language.

Good show. I’ve been listening for years. That said, it has become about 1/2 child abuse cases. I have little kids and don’t want to listen to someone describe a child being in tortured. Those crimes exist obviously. I just don’t listen to those episodes, but. They are becoming more and more.

Episode 259: “…as Barbara’s often do” - SERIOUSLY? Do you ever think before you open your mouth, Mike? Man. You can be rolling along perfectly well with your monologues and then the stupidest s%!+ can come out of your mouth. You can have the listener right where you want them - deeply into the story - and then blow it with your verbal diarrhea.

Your the best podcast.. but tramadol is not comparable to oxy and morphine. It’s literally prescribed as a muscle relaxer And literally the absolute lowest in the scale of pain meds.

Please continue as long as you can. 🩷 If you don’t like ads, pay to listen without them just like every other streaming platform and podcast. Nothing new here. Don’t single this podcast out like he’s the only one that does it.

Every episode requires a subscription to listen which is odd I would want free ones to get people hooked. Anyway I took advantage of the 3 days free and I’m going to listen to some episodes during that time to see if I like it. If not I’ll just cancel the subscription before being charged. I’ll also update review after listening to a few episodes. Update: 5 minutes later Yea no the way he talks and the sound effects are to much canceling that subscription now.

Hands down the best true crime podcast out there.

This guy is sus and overly political and misogynistic. The podcast has over 18 minutes of ads and intros. I have to skip every ten minutes because the ads are copied and I hear the same thing in the span of two minutes literally starts off with adds one min later adds Introduces you to the story more adds this guy gets enough revenue I’m tired of having to pull my phone out of my pocket every 5 minutes T work so I don’t have listen to the same t Nobel add three times in a row.

Listen, I have listened to SAS from the very beginning. However, as much as I like it, and as much as I understand the battle against the “cancel culture” crowd. I am not willing to pay a subscription for podcasts, especially when there are sooo many true crime podcasts. I’ll just listen to the random free SAS podcasts. If I can get the Joe Rogan Experience for free, then I am not paying for SAS, unless it becomes part of the Apple Music subscription which I already have.
