Hater
I just love the comments from the haters. I don’t know why you have to talk so bad about the haters. My life’s goal is to be a comment from the hater.

Great podcast
One of my favorite. Great training advice, humor and a call it like you see it attitude. If you are “woke” you may need some tissues.

Something went wrong…Exactly what strength needs
Edit… This went from strength training content to nutball conspiracy nonsense wrapped in awe shucks southern charm. What a joke. Must Listen! If Sam Elliot and Dave Ramsey share a cousin, it’s Mark Rippetoe. The guy breaks strength training down simply but with that southern style that makes you want to succeed. He’s Robert Duvall in Days of Thunder. Humor mixed with serious data and science. One of the most under the radar pods available.

Great info — lots of politics
Rip and the guys are funny and informative, just wish they would talk about political issues less.

Cmon, editorials about CV not what I tune in for
Read the book but first episode I listen to starts with a rant about masks being useless and the vaccine killing more people than covid. No thanks.

Disappointed
Wanted to stay for the strength and training insights but the banter was really off putting (insulting youth climate activists thinly disguised as a joke etc…). A shame since I have enjoyed and learned from his form coaching videos on YouTube

Rip’s Shatner-style rambling makes this a perfect bedtime podcast
My favorite night time podcast. Mr. Rippetoe’s deep voice and methodical speaking pace make this an extremely relaxing podcast and puts me straight to sleep. Sometimes I’m even able to stay awake long enough to learn something! It’s astounding to me that Rip’s books have taught me how to utilize the gym and his podcast helps me recover from utilizing the gym. You’re doing a lot of good for this internet stranger, thanks so much.

Valuable
For me, this is the most valuable podcast on the entire Internet, as it deals with things that I’m very interested in; getting stronger and staying stronger in old age, overall health, and proper mental attitude. This podcast has it all. Rip shares his decades of knowledge about strength training and overall health, and it’s priceless!

Great
Following Rips plan got me strong enough to do other stuff. Never stay in your lane I love the podcasts that have nothing to do with training.

Do your ‘Faeves’
One of only one or two actually useful podcasts on training, coaching, and getting stronger on the internet. As long as you are willing to let the garbage you were taught in your fitness certification or kinesiology degree you’ll learn a lot from Rip and the gang.

yuck
very racist, very bigoted, very trashy.

Most important podcast on the Internet!
Though I have to say the “Impact of sex” episode was not about what I thought it was going to be about.
Some Other^3 Guy
Best on the internet.
Awesome all around podcast for strength and current events.

My absolute favorite podcast
Rip is correct about nearly everything. This podcast is second to none. You’ll learn a ton, and you’ll laugh even more.

Enough said. You will know very quickly if this podcast is for you or not.

Mixed Bag
Some really good information about barbell training. Unfortunately, there is also a lot of uniformed comments about complex subjects spoken with great confidence.

Interesting and insightful
Always want to hear Rip’s take on things and listen to the entertainment.

A Mixed Bag, and Getting Worse
Rip's knowledge of strength training makes him one of the elite. It is truly top tier. Unfortunately the strength training content has been decreasing in frequency, being replaced with bog-standard American right-wing cultural talking points. If you want political commentary from a right-wing American perspective, there are many podcasts out there which are both more insightful and funnier. This is just another drunk uncle at Thanksgiving. For strength training info, I recommend the older episodes, or better yet, the older videos on the YouTube channel.

Stick to lifting
He knows a lot about one thing and insists on talking about others. Check out Barbell Logic if you want information about lifting without the political commentary.

Great approach
Keep it simple stupid S&C is like toothpaste. When you see everything that is available to the consumer, fresh breath, whitening, sensitivity, etc. we just want to clean our teeth as efficiently as possible.

Starting Strength?
...more like incessant complaining about the government and COVID.

I feel personally attacked
Rip has revealed that I’ve wasted over a decade at the gym.

The methods work
I’ve personally have used these methods to get strong and get a California Powerlifting record in bicep curl. My only complaint isn’t about Rip or training, the audio quality is LOW...been podcasting since 2009, the first thing I realized is loud is important. Just boost the mic levels or add more gain to the mics.

Rock, Flag, and Eagle
If you ever wanted to know what it’s like to talk with a TRUE Texan, subscribe to this podcast. He is President Lyndon Johnson, Lance Armstrong, and Tommy Lee Jones all in one. Let’s see that Texas flag tattoo on your back, Rip!

Breakfast.
I had coffee with no sugar, just creamer.

Unsubscribed on 5-30-20 Rip is toovulgar.
Cannot listen to this anymore as I have little kids.

Tell it like it is Rip
I appreciate Rip‘s perspectives, even when I disagree. He doesn’t care what you think; he has something to say. You can’t deny his intelligence and command of knowledge around strength training, no matter how you may or may not align with his opinions on ancillary topics and issues. You may find his word choice and tone off putting, but I’m sure he won’t mind if you take your work ass home.

Rip is the best
Rip is a classic. A treasure. Funny, smart, insightful, logical. Great no nonsense approach to life and lifting.

Brilliant Content on Strength
A Rippetoe is a brilliant guy who has a deep understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics. A great podcast from a truly original thinker.
BW9763
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for breaking down strength training into common sense terms. Barbell training has help with my jiu jitsu and physical appearance much more than high volume/HIIT. JCW

True Foundation
I wish all who choose to start the weight training endeavor start with this podcast. Rip provides a solid foundation of information. Knowledge is power!

Hard to take seriously
Just recently saw game changers, and trying to look at both sides for evidence, but their ep on it was hard to take seriously. I'm sure there is a lot of good info on other episodes but they really seem to get high of their own supply while innacurately generalizing the movie. So sensative to the other side they have to say words incorrectly. The whole thing was like your mom in a bathing suite. A real turnoff.

Life changing
It’s a good thing for us all Mark Rippetoe decided to go into strength training instead of starting a cult. He uses a matter of fact delivery and tone to lay out simple arguments that leads one to the unerring conclusion that “Rip must be right.” And he is. Rippetoe’s program and approach are that one needs to use resistance in a consistent manner, at regular intervals, and increase the amount resistance in regular, adaptable increments each time. This will cause adaptation and growth in the lifter. And it will. But beyond that, listening to Rip explain something as basic as how to get a plate off the rack, put it on a bar, and then return it to the rack has a surreal entertainment value that is hard to explain. It’s like tequila, powerful and to be respected. Not everyone is going to be able a steady diet of it. But a little won’t kill you and it’s a good time.

Don’t miss this one
How can you not like a show where the host has hard nipples? Arguably the most informative and humorous podcast in the S&C industry.
