This was one of my favorite pods to listen to again and again and again. It got me to listen to Superego! I got a Stitcher Premium account because of Spontaneanation and Superego teaming up and tickling my funny bones! But now that Stitcher is dead, where am I to listen to this fun time ha ha hour?

I revisit these every so often and they are sheer perfection.

His master plan is to make, and then finish making, as many amazing podcasts as possible so that people years from now understand what it means to have true, genuine comedy. The structure of this show is both simple and complex at the same time, but it works. It gives both the special guest and the other improvisers the opportunity to contribute. There was rarely a dud in the mix, and I would get so excited whenever I saw certain names listed. This show is sorely missed.

An incredibly good interview/improv comedy podcast hosted by my personal god of comedy - Paul F Tompkins. Its worth every penny on stitcher premium and whether or not you are an improv fan give this shows format a try. Incredible guest chemistry, so many funny moments, and a magical, fun program.

I’m one of those weirdos who actually downloads every episode of a podcast when I sub to it. I found Spontaneanation at ep 93. Now they’re all behind a paywall but I still have them. The show is…perfect.

This is some of the best narrative improv you can find (FREE and on a regular basis!) and I fully believe that it has caused car accidents.

PFT is a comical genius and I am so happy that I have discovered him through this podcast. The combination of Paul, his guests/improviser pals, and Eban Schletter's perfectly complementary musical stylings make this podcast a can't-miss weekly event for me.

This show just kills me. Every week.

I have been his fan for twelve years and anything he does is awesome. The thing that sets him apart is his genuineness and wit which he shares with the world.

I had a terrible marriage and it was all my fault. Then I started listening to Spontaneanation, now I’m a decent person.

I can’t stop listening, week after week. When you all find yourselves in a bind and just time swoop out of it amid background guffaws I feel we’re all in on a hilarious inside joke. Which of course makes it an outside joke. Thank you each and every show!!!

First heard PFT on comedy bang bang and automatically knew he was talented and hilarious. Searched PFT on apple podcast to find anything else with him in it and found SPONTANEANATION. I can’t believe it took me this long to find this podcast and PFT! You will not find a funnier podcast to listen too. I will be laughing out loud at work with earbuds in, looking like a maniac, because I cannot contain my laughter... great stuff people. Give it a download.

Awesome human Paul F. Tompkins and his great guests crack me up on this podcast. They’re just trying to have a good time, they’re not hurting anyone. Even Paul’s monologues will get me sometimes, I like the way his brain works :p If you’re thinking of jumping in, some of my fave eps that are good to give you a taste are #4, 12, 77, and 78. You can start anywhere though, there’s no order, so give any a try and enjoy!

PFT is all of the funny and love that lives deep inside of me, that I haven’t taken the time and don’t have the skills to share with the world. I quote Spontaneanation a lot in my job as a high school therapist and thank god my sister is also obsessed so we can talk Spont. nonsense. “Who’s the Sheriff?” “Y’all! I think SHE’S the sheriff!”

I’m so sad this will not be going on for years and years and years to come. I have so enjoyed this podcast and all of PFT’s other previous podcasts. I look forward to whatever he comes up with next so I can get more of that sweet sweet PFT.

This podcast made my Mondays bright. I love Paul F and everything he does, but the diversity and dedication of all his guests/friends just re-affirmed my feelings for him and this podcast week after week. This podcast had gotten me through dark times/depression and I will miss it very much when it is gone. Good bye forever- Semper en presenti ❤️

PFT is a class act and a personal hero.

I was thrown at first when it stopped being Frank and Sadie, and Frank started delving into what would be more anachronistic topics, but halfway through I realized that this is obviously commentary on the fact that his love for his wife is so strong that Frank would rather fabricate 30 minute plays weekly than confront not having his beloved. Powerful stuff.

I’ve been listening to Paul F. Tompkins’ appearances on Comedy Bang Bang for years, but only just recently started listening to Spontaneanation - I’ve been missing out! Paul is a delightful host, he has delightful guests, and the improvs are super fun. I also really appreciate that many of the guests and improvisers are women and/or people of color. It’s great, and I’m officially obsessed. Thank you, Paul!

This is my favorite podcast. The piano from that guy who I can’t quite remember how to spell his name alone makes this podcast better than any other because it gets rid of that awful dead air feeling from other podcasts and it’s so beautiful. And then I love how PFT seems to adore each and every one of his guests and genuinely enjoy the time with them. It’s inspiring just in how good of a time they are having, and it also makes me laugh so much.

I was eating chips with my 2 year old listening to this and laughed so hard I threw up all the chips and scared my daughter. Highly recommend
