First-class storytelling!
Wow, why have I not found this podcast sooner? I really enjoy the candid discussions and how they don’t seem to glamorize the crime or the criminal. This is my new go-to for when I’m doing the dishes-I may have a clean kitchen yet, haha!

They just disappeared
I actually do enjoy this podcast when they stay on point. The officers they have telling their individual stories are amazing. Down side, they rarely post a podcast, n of lately when they do; they are just telling stories of how Detective Dan and Yardley met each other. I find their story delightful. But don’t want to keep hearing it. Need to get back to business n post what this podcast is suppose to be about

Conflicted
I really started to love this show. Wishing there were more Dans and Dave’s out there. However, in the most recent episode (briefing room: in this case) I feel a little icky about some of their opinions on the use of force. Remember you picked this line of work, no one made you choose this field. Also came to add—- Dave you’re voice is so attractive.

You’re BAAACK!! I SO missed the show, and all of you - with your joyful, familial banter - I can’t wait for the new season to unfold. Thank you for producing a podcast series set apart from the usual TC genre. There’s just so much more than entertainment .. I am learning a lot. On with the show! I love you guys!!

Really wanted to like this…..
But couldn’t. I love Paul holes and the detectives were interesting but the host’s voice is intolerable. Sounds like moaning Myrtle’s baby voice trying to tell me a story. Get the other host back or just a totally different host in general and maybe people would be more interested in listening

Excellent podcast!
The entire team handles these tough events with care and empathy for the victims and their families. There is a balance of every emotion and the best way to handle these stressful experiences included. Outstanding writing and producing.

Dive into investigations of heinous crimes told by the detectives involved
If you want to dive deep into serious investigations of serious crimes along with the investigators involved, you’re home now. I am a lover of true crime content. The more demented and heinous the crimes, the better. I am particularly interested in interrogations and the investigative process overall. To the latter end, no podcast rivals STD. With case narratives provided first-hand by the investigator(s) involved — who happen to rank amongst the most dedicated and professional detectives I’ve seen/heard in the true crime genre — and with assistance of insightful questioning by the incredible host — these episodes take you deep into the detective story, skipping no details and pulling no punches. (And without the typical ancillary fluff.) Very highly recommended.

Been looking for your glorious return.

Pretty good
In my top five favorite crime podcasts. I like earlier seasons a lot better (was a great dynamic with Zibby), but more recent episodes are still good. I've really appreciated the deep dives of the briefing room -- actually have referenced this is speaking at school board meetings on securing our campus better. My only complaint, and this is personal preference, is the Scottish guests. Hard to understand, and hard to envision the places and culture.

Top true crime podcast
Ignore the trolls. This is a great podcast. The combination of intelligence and the info that they provide is extraordinary. Love the combo of personalities and comraderie.

Always fantastic!!👏👏
I love to hear the opinions and questions from such a variety of law enforcement backgrounds, especially Paul Holes. This is what I’ve listened to almost every Saturday for 3 years now!

please go back to the old format
I am not sure how there is room for Paul holes and his ego in the room with you guys, but this guy is everywhere and he doesn't really add the type of storytelling to the podcast that I've been listening to all these time years. I would really love less of him. I would've also love it if you would bring back the old intro that started by pulling sound by from the interview from the guest. It set the tone for the podcast.

Profiting from Misery, Dicks indeed
Cops pretending they don’t just exist to protect rich people’s property making money off misery. Go help some kids instead of retelling stories you pieces of poop. And Lisa Simpson def doesn’t need the money so no idea why she’s involved in this filth other than a black heart

Victim impact
Really saddened to hear an actual victim be re-traumatized by the story small town dicks aired. Wish I never followed or listened. Shame on you.

Police officers
Police officers are squares who have no clue about the real world until about 10 years in , and by then they are too jaded to really benefit

Thank you
This episode was more than another police story. The honest talk towards the end had me in tears as Dan Dave Paul and guest explained the effects that their work has. Quite important for all of us to realize the sacrifice they have made in order to protect and to serve the public. I am in awe of you guys! Thank you. This podcast is another form of their service! This is what good police officers look like!
Thank you all for showing the world what real police officers look like.

Awesome
Love this podcast. Great cases, great hosts, and great guests.

The Storytelling is Unmatched
This is not a comedian or True Crime fan telling you the stories. The detectives who investigated the crimes tell the stories. The result is that factual and emotional details compel and entrance us listeners. In that, this podcast is consistently unique. Edited to take away a star as the hosts have talked in sensitively about people experiencing addiction in a way that was not compassionate.

Strongly recommend you watch this documentary and become informed. You can’t believe everything the politicians tell you.

Love this show
authentic people, no sensationalism, a lot of insight into what the police experience. True crime for sure but somehow I feel like I’m learning more in this one.

Seriously flawed
Any crime podcast that gives credibility to Paul Holes is almost criminally irresponsible. Holes’s “work” on the EAR task force led to dead ends and wasted resources. His stubbornness about Joe DeAngelo not being the Visalia ransacker and the methods that he used to get DNA evidence were reckless and unethical. He almost risked having the DeAngelo case dismissed. Please read Tony Reid’s book and listen to his true crime podcast 12-26-75, don’t listen to this nonsense.

Too good to be true
This is my ABSOLUTE favorite true crime podcast. I love hearing it straight from the source. I love listening to the process, and I love listening to the “human” in the detective. It’s the real stuff.
soozigraf
Overwhelmingly pro-cop, very black and white
There are some good stories in here but the show fails to address any wrongdoing by cops either personally or professionally. Even the episodes where they discuss a bad cop it’s portrayed as one bad apple with zero discussion of the other cops who covered under for him, nor the systemic issues with the police force. It’s portrayed as 100% black and white, and all cops are good / all criminals are bad. A real missed opportunity to go a little deeper.

This pod is my jam.
I love true crime stories, but especially ones that get solved and hearing details about how they were solved directly from the pros that solved them. (Think Forensic Files without the commercials.) This pod is all about the solves. The child abuse stuff is super cringey (‘The Very Worst 2022’ is shockingly bad), but it’s the solving that is comforting. There really is justice.

👍🏽
I was having a conversation about an adjacent city only a few miles from our hometown and how the current climate has caused a lot of traffic that seemed to be getting worse with each day. We were talking about how we pass the time when we’re going 0 in a 55. He named dropped your podcast and an episode I needed to listen to. It was about a case he helped investigate in the early stages with the help of his K9 partner. He said the podcast starred twin detectives in our state who love baseball and the lady who does the voice of Lisa Simpson. I’ve been hooked ever since. Keep up the good work! PS, any future plans on getting LEOs who responded to the Harvest 91 mass shooting in Las Vegas?

Just keeps getting better!
I have to say that this new season is so good so far. I love the addition of Paul, the chemistry between the hosts & the guests is palpable. The true life stories are given with empathy and told with the experience of people that were there.

Informative, funny, honest
A fantastic show from so many perspectives! Everyone is honest and the show invites us in to raw conversations about law enforcement as well as citizens and gives tools, first hand accounts, crazy stories, and much much more.
