I happen to stumble across this podcast and I must say this cat is legit. His stories grab you and he is very descriptive. Also the music he plays (intro/outro) are always hot. I’m liking this because Shannon’s a fellow Spartan, but also his stories are relatable and funny. You never know when they’re going to drop, but it’s always worth the wait.

I really enjoyed this story! I must admit, between the title and Oochie Wally playing in the background I was a lil nervous. 😂 But this story was incredibly heartwarming (and lowkey wholesome). I’m listening to Hot Daddy Summer and laughing like a maniac at 11 in the morning sitting outside Departures at SFO. I just love the way Shannon tells stories. He’s such a relaxed and funny and genuine host, with hilarious, witty, and astute observations - I don’t know that this is one of them, but it DEF made me laugh: “Women with Androids typically have messy bathrooms!” It’s a pleasure to spend time “with” Shannon in my ears! Guiding me through the landscape of his tales. Keeping me company while I wait for a Lyft. I was so impressed with his hosting skills, I had to reach out the tell him, even before I finished the episode. 👏 👏 👏 Great work, Shannon!

I really love hearing Shannon’s Homemade Stories. I like to hear his take on issues and to hear about his life experiences. I dropped off for a bit cause my phone can’t hold as many podcasts as it used to but I’m back and catching up now. This newest episode about his top five hip hop artists got me hooked back in. I started listening to your stories after hearing you on snap judgment. I think you have a unique style of story telling. My favorite so far is The X in the Sebring. I was driving home and I’m thought I would have an accident because I was laughing so hard. Another thing is your stories relate to my life growing up and I feel like culturally black people are the same no matter where we’re raised. Finally listening to your stories is helping me find my voice and write things down. Keep doing your thing. Tracey

I started listening to Shanon after spotting him on an episode of the Moth! I haven’t missed an episode of any of his work since. He’ a natural and makes his work seem effortless. Shannon’s stories combine genuine raw experience with a chilled out understanding that can only come from a lifetime of conversations with strangers. Listening to his voice is relaxing, even when the stories themselves are raw or tense. Homemade Stories is like having a great conversation at the bar with the only friendly local in a new town.
