Too many ads!
I couldn’t even make it through one episode without getting irritated by all of the ads. I have read Kristen for years and years and years, and came over here after searching up some random episodes of her guest appearances on other podcasts. I adore her personality and I love listening to her perspective, having found her insight reliable over and over throughout the years. I just can’t with the ad spots. I understand you have to make money but for the love of god just roll some iHeart radio style 2 minute ad sequence. For example, i find the ad cycle on Like A Virgin much more bearable. I personally prefer a lot fewer ad reads from my podcast hosts. I understand that it is supposed to make the ads seem more like honest recommendations from you, but the cognitive dissonance is annoying. An ad is an ad and I prefer ad reads and sponsorships to be more minimal in terms of your participation. Would be more open to listening with a different ad format.

Thx for the reminder to vote!
Irrelevant sjw ramblings — ugh. Enough with such low vibration output — we deserve better. I am so fortunate to be a Conservative. Liberals are so off balance!

Changes are meh
Does anyone else feel like Mathias is saying nothing? I’m sure it’s default as a therapist but I feel like he never answers a question (hmm, yeah, I don’t know…) I feel like he just echoes Kristen (uh huh, yeah, right). Big contrast to Sarah and Roo who definitely had ideas and things to say.

Moan and groan
Listening to Kristin moan and groan about how hard she works is enough. As my Dad would have said, enough is enough. I liked Sarah and I liked Roo and so I stuck with it. I haven’t listened to enough with the new cohost to have an opinion, but finally decided today I can’t listen anymore.

Amazing Podcast✨✨
I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for creating such an impactful podcast! I believe that we all have a voice that deserves to be heard. Thank you for putting this into the world! BE UNBROKEN! @MichaelUnbroken

A Weekly Highlight
Kristen and Roo are a great pair for this. I appreciate the age difference and the differences in life experiences. I'm surprised by any negative reviews (minus the Trump one). I love their little interjections. It feels more like I'm sitting in a living room or at a bar with them and being a part of a conversation. A lot of self-care recommendations are for upper middle class women, but Kristen and Roo are accessible and have tactics regardless of lifestyle. Would like fewer interviews and more of these two tackling topics!

Love this but
I love this podcast for the most part! I like Kristen but the constant interruptions drive me nuts. The sure, yeahs, and hmms mmms and generally talking over people (Roo) just isn’t good podcast etiquette and makes it hard to listen to.

Mixed feelings
I generally enjoy listening to the updates, and find Kristin fairly relatable. Lately however, I have found it super annoying how Roo is constantly grouping flat earthers and people with concerns about vaccines in the same group. She clearly is not educated on the latest research coming from some of the best doctors around the world. Any person with a basic understanding of the immune system should be able to deduct that vaccines come with some risks. She should also do some investigating into the history of vaccines and liability. We need to be listening to less polarizing people who can handle that some issues are complex and difficult.

Selfie helps keep me sane
Even before the current dumpster fire, selfie has been helping my mental health for years! I have always learned something from each episode. Thank you (Sarah) Kristen, Roo (💕) and BJ!

Loyal listener from the start!
I began listening when it was the original hosts. When one of the hosts left I was wondering how it would continue since they had such a great dynamic. I am happy to say that both the new host and added correspondents are fantastic! It’s informative, relatable, and comforting. I’ve gotten a ton of great tips and recommendations from products to mental health. I’ve never missed an episode!

One of my faves
Kudos on the new format and the new co-host dynamic!! I love listening to Kristen and Roo. Their banter is fun, funny, and relatable, and their age difference gives refreshing different viewpoints. I look forward to it every week.

Great dynamic
I love Roo and Kristen’s dynamic. They’re real, authentic and funny. They give practical advice. I like that every episode they check in with each other’s self care and then they give two thumbs up about two things they like or enjoy. Keep up the great podcast, Ladies!

The podcast I really need.
I am so bad at self-care and this podcast has done so much to help me prioritize myself. Kristen and Roo feel like my best girlfriends, encouraging me to do things that are healthy and beneficial for me. BJ’s therapy sessions are bomb as well. Keep it up!

Love the new format
I love the new format and all of the hosts/contributors! I used to casually listen when the old co-host was on, but definitely have found myself looking forward to each episode with the new co-host and format. I’m glad for the different segments and am also glad for less interviews. I find the conversation on this podcast to be real and relatable. Thanks for the quality content!

Feedback
I’m a longtime Selfie listener. I really like the Podcast. Some comments on the new format: Roo is a great addition. Love the segments with her and Kristen. Also, love the beauty/skin care segments with skin care lady. I find the segments with the therapist unlistenable. I fast forward them every week.

Used to love this Cast
It’s really unfortunate how much this podcast has changed in the last couple of months with the addition of a new “host”. I cannot stress enough how unpleasant it is to listen to her self obsessed loud, crass ramblings and constant interruptions of the other host. As an example, In the beginning of the last episode she literally talked about an upcoming trip to Europe with three kids over 10 and two other adults for 10 minutes. 10 minutes! She infantilized her husband as useless and went on and on about every possible detail of this upcoming trip and her anxiety as if it were a brave and daunting trip that only she would be able to manage.... Huh? These are not young children, she has two other adults, and she’s not heading anywhere dangerous or interesting. Why would we as listeners have any interest in 10 minutes of this?? Every time she talks it’s like nails on a chalk board, such a contrast to the two other soft spoken thoughtful educated smart and savvy hosts. I’m disappointed as I’ve been listening to Kristin and Sarah since the beginning. It appears as though this woman has zero qualifications or expertise although she certainly pretends she knows everything about everything. It’s very grating and unpleasant and frankly embarrassing to listen to. Sorry to have such a strong reaction but I will not be continuing to listen if she remains as she keeps popping up unexpectedly. I still enjoy the guests and the weeks when this woman is not included and I hope it’s just a temporary situation and this podcast finds its way back as it was an excellent show before this change! -update I’m so glad that you have finally removed Claire from cohost. I will miss Sarah but Roo is great! The idea however that she should continue to be included at on any level let alone a “beauty expert” is ridiculous... she has no business being on this podcast in any capacity. I’m sure you’re just trying to let her down easy but c’mon.. stop torturing us....

Know it alls
Narcissistic chats. These ladies think that they know it all and that you know nothing. If you have a brain and a mind of your own, you probably won’t like this podcast. Oh and if you don’t like listening to people talk about their gas (like stomach gas) then you probably should eliminate episode 98. No joke the episode was about gas. That was when I stopped listening.

The Girlfriends I’ve never met!
Words cannot describe how much I look forward to this podcast every time! Of being the same age demographic as Kristen & Sarah, I feel that they both are going through the same struggles or issues I may be experiencing may it be health or kid related. I love hearing about their lives and what’s going on with whatever self care struggles they may be dealing with at the moment. Also they bring enough humor and honesty into each topic discussed without it feeling too preachy or over the top. Very researched and thoughtful, each episode shows the work put into it and I love these girls as my own family! Edit: 12/19 I used to religiously listen to this podcast and excitedly await a new episode each week. But since the addition of the new fill in holster Claire since Sarah cut back, I found myself listening less and less. Now I’m even considering unsubscribing since I don’t even miss it anymore. Sorry guys. You had a good thing, why mess with it?

Relatable, friendly, and funny
Love this podcast! All the women are witty, funny and seem to be very down to Earth. The addition of Claire has been great in my opinion, I find her hilarious.

Add this to your list!
Awesome show, highly recommend! Kristen and Sarah do an incredible job of bringing on a wide range of guests that share some really powerful insights, and ideas, that you can bring into your life today. That's probably what I love most about the energy this show brings into my world! It's a great blend of funny, practical, expansive and entertaining. You will not regret subscribing to Selfie!

This was suggested by the Mom Hour but I’m sorry to say it’s been hugely disappointing. Low quality recordings, meaningless chitchat, and awkward transitions.

Anxious podcast
I was really enjoying this podcast until they started sharing their political views. When I first started listening I thought the two ladies Kristen Howerton & Sarah James were a little ridiculous with some of their antics about their anxiety medication and their issues with going to the doctors. I understand a lot of people suffer with anxiety, but listening to them was making me feel anxious because they’d dwell on their issues so much (and I’m not usually an anxious person). But I loved listening to Sarah because she is just so upbeat and funny! Now the show is mostly Kristen and another host and they’ve shared political views and it’s just not a fun listen like it used to be. Wish they focused more on the fun self care stuff and didn’t get so deep with the darker topics.

It’s different :(
I love the Selfie podcast! Unlike some other reviewers, I enjoy all the hosts, including Claire. However, I do agree that the quality of the podcast seems to decline each episode. It has been a couple of minutes of chitchat and then a quick, awkward transition to an interview. After the interview, there is no interesting discussion. It just abruptly ends. I truly hope this is only temporary and that Selfie returns to its previous format soon! I love you ladies and really want to hear more of your in depth conversations and musings!

Confusing bummer
I listened to this podcast religiously a year ago and as a working mother got so much out of it. Things got busy I got distracted and I just checked back in a few weeks back. There was a new woman called Claire who appeared to be filling in as a cohost I thought maybe just for one episode... I found her voice to be incredibly grating and unpleasant And she didn’t seem to have any real substance to add except to talk about herself and her life all very uninteresting and histrionic … The next week it was back to Sarah who I very much enjoy so I figured it was just the once off. the very next week same thing she was back so I went through the episodes and it seems as though Kristen and Sarah decided to add her as a cohost?? I also looked at some of the new reviews and it appears I’m not alone in my reaction to her voice and general demeanor and opinions… She does in fact interrupt all the time and tries to make everything about her she’s not really funny or insightful and appears to have no real depth to offer on any subject. I don’t understand why Kristen and Sarah would decide to add her. She appears to be Kristen‘s bestie?? I mean I have friends too that I really love but that I wouldn’t dare expose to an audience to… Yikes. Make it stop! I loved this podcast before.....

I miss the old selfie!
I’m a listener since the episode. Love the chemistry between Sarah and Kristen, but now it seems it’s 5 min of the two of them (and now Claire) and then a pre pre-recorded interview....every episode! I miss the old Selfie when the two of them talked the hole episode.

Used to be great
I used to really enjoy this podcast but the quality has declined. The two thumbs up seems to be nothing but sponsored content that’s not disclosed. It seems that they don’t listen before they publish as you hear things like, “Tell Chad to edit that out.” Today’s episode was especially disjointed with Kristen clearly recording her two thumbs up after the fact and then throwing in some more sponsored content.

This is one of my top 3 favorite podcasts! I feel like Sarah and Kristen are my dear (and funny as hell) friends! Keep up the good work!❤️

Love love
I look forward to each new episode! Kristen and Sarah are like old friends 😊 I’ve been following Sarah since the days of Hair Thursday and Kristen not long after that. The Facebook group is great too!

Not as good as it was
I used to really like this podcast when it was just Kristen and Sarah discussing various topics with occasional interviews. Now that Sarah has taken a step back, it’s all Kristen doing interviews and I’m not a fan. Some interviews are fine, but I don’t want that every week. The best part of the podcast used to be Sarah and Kristen chatting and the rapport they had with each other. I just listen to the self care check-ins now and skip the rest. I don’t even mind the addition of Claire every other week, it’s just the interviews that are grating. I want more from the hosts!

I used to love it, but...
I used to listen religiously every week to Selfie and loved the banter between Sarah and Kristin. But then the podcast moved more to long interviews that Kristin conducted herself, which I didn’t always find engaging, and Sarah’s presence on the podcast was reduced because of her other obligations. I don’t feel that Claire fills Sarah’s shoes well...she doesn’t offer a lot of depth to conversations (and her voice drives me crazy, but that’s my own issue). Now, unless I know up front that it’s an episode with Sarah, I don’t bother listening. I gave it a shot, but just don’t love the direction in which the podcast is heading. The editing could also use some work...it’s very choppy at times which gives it an unprofessional feel — and it seems to get worse with each episode.

I used to enjoy this
I really enjoyed this podcast when it first started. It was fun chit chat mixed with some self care topics. Lately I find it incredibly boring. The beginning is typically about their health issues and anxiety. They now have a new person every other week who I am not enjoying at all. I think they have run out of topics at this point.

Lots of fun!
I enjoyed this show so much I’ve been listening all the way back through the archives, and will be really sad when I’m done! The hosts have great chemistry, good voices (sooooo important, I’ve stopped listening to great content half way through because I can’t stand the voices!) and the conversations are really fun and informative. My only two gripes: 1) STOP CALLING IT AN ALEXA! An Alexa is a person. An ECHO is the stupid Amazon device. Actual humans are named Alexa and it’s really annoying when people refer to the device as an Alexa. (I get that this is mostly Amazon’s fault but we can help fix it by calling the devices by the right name). 2) I wish they were better at explaining when the products they name-check or rave about are sponsored in some way and when they are not. Even a simple “nothing is sponsored unless we say it is” at the top of the show would help give more weight to the recommendations (which I have to say are really good so far, but I don’t like that I can’t tell who paid for the rec and who didn’t). Keep up the great work!

boring
really wanted to love this podcast!! but It just takes them forever to get to the point and why do they always have to bring the same topics about skin at the beginning ?!

All around wonderful!
Thank you both so much for a podcast that’s enjoyable, honest, and informative without being preachy. You explore issues that so many of us can relate to, and you’ve helped me feel less alone. I love how you include both light and serious topics, and I particularly appreciate the emphasis on mental health as a part of self-care. I’ve also discovered some of my favorite new skin care products thanks to your candid reviews! I eagerly look forward to more episodes.

So relateable and funny
I love listening to what these women have to say every Wednesday morning, I even look forward to it. They are smart, witty, creative, and I feel like I really know them.

Relatable and Real
I started listening not long ago, but will definitely be tuning in each week as well as continuing to go backwards through the shows to catch up on all the previous episodes. I love how empowering the content is, and I think the hosts do a good job of varying the topics but maintaining the same central focus of self-love and overall wellness.

Two thumbs up!
LOVE IT! Thanks for keeping it real and promoting self-care. My fav part of each episode is the “two thumbs up”. ;)

Good content
The content is good but sometimes it feels like the hosts could get to the point a bit sooner. I really liked the Enneagram series and have had really good conversations around the topic.

Mixed
I can’t seem to decide how I feel about this show. I love the Life Listened Network and this show is pretty good overall, but I’m not sure I love these hosts. The content is great, plenty of helpful tips and recommendations, but in every episode there seems to be a few things that make me cringe. From an entire episode about pets where they talked about all the pets and why they don’t like any them (why choose that topic?), to a comment on the travel episode where one host confessed to lying about her career, telling strangers she was “just a mom” so nobody would have anything to talk to her about... I don’t know. Undecided if I’ll stay subscribed.

You two are my favorite! I don’t know you, but yet I feel like I do. Perhaps it’s a 3 thing, of which I am also. Keep it coming, I look forward to every Wednesday drive home with a new episode.

Must write review
I know podcasters tell me all the time to leave a rating and write a review, but I never take the time to do it. But for Kristen and Sarah, I will do it. I love their podcast. I love how they can talk about everything and do it in such a respectful manner. I have not once heard them be snarky with each other, which happens on other Life, Listened podcasts. I anxiously await each episode and I think their series on the Enneagram has been genius.
