“More” Score?
I used to really enjoy this podcast. But they’ve completely abandoned it in favor of the paid version “More Score.” It feels weird to have something called More Score when the actual Score podcast doesn’t exist anymore. I hope they go back to producing episodes of Score The Podcast and turn More Score back to the thing it was intended to be - bonus material and additional interviews to supplement the free podcast.

Disappointed Huge Fan with Hope
I am a huge fan of the show for sure. The guests are amazing. I’ve mostly enjoyed the hosts when they dive deep into the heads, processes and passions that help us understand the people behind the music, their personal and professional lives, inspirations, gear, and studio life. However, since we are now paying for this podcast, there seems to be less and less each month in regards to the rich content that they once offered, both in frequency and length. Also, they may have pioneered this topic very well, including the awesome documentary, but now there are many great podcast out there discussing this very topic with a variety of composers from all genres and disciplines, including many successful indie composers. Not a fan of paying for less. I hope they go back to more substance that paved the way for this format. I don’t write many reviews, but because I loved this show so much, I feel it was necessary before canceling my subscription or at least pausing to make room for some of the other great podcasts out there.

Subscription episodes won’t play! I’m subscribed!
So I subscribed a couple days ago, I listened to only one of the episodes and now I can’t. What’s going on? Love the show! I’ve been a fan for 2 years now, but I do not like this.

My favorite podcast!!
I stumbled into this podcast, and it has quickly become my favorite!! I am a fan of movie scores, and each episode has intrigued me, even when I am not at all familiar with the episode guest. Every guest has a unique story, background and perspective, and the show hosts bring it all to the air. I cherry picked episodes at first—now I am going back and catching up on all seasons, not skipping a single one!! Keep up the great show!!

Good, but… let the guests speak omg
It’s not bad, they do get great guests and have interesting discussion. But the annoying way the two guys team up to tease their female cohost and how much they talk over each other and the actual guests makes me not want to listen. They’ll ask a guest a question and then speak over them as they start to answer. Just listen to Edith Bowman’s Sountracking, she actually lets guests speak there
👀Izzy!
Love. But...
I do love this podcast. Brilliant Hosts, amazing guests... but sometimes the hosts talk over each other and often talk more than the guests get to talk. Would love to hear more from the guests❤️

This Podcast is truly for EVERYONE!
Why "everybody"? Well, I assume everyone reading this: 1. Has some favorite movies/ tv shows... 2. Likes to listen to music... 3. Was born sometime after the Jazz Singer came out (in 1927). If anyone meets these 3 criteria, they should treat themselves to the deep and colorful insights on the often unseen world of film scoring. (Musicians and music makers will not be able to get ENOUGH of this podcast). This podcast came forth after the creators of "Score, the Documentary" decided to venture even further into its subject and grace us with alluring interviews with film composers and some of the highest profile musicians. Since it's early beginning, this podcast has consistently sat its listeners at the feet of some of Hollywood's greatest musical icons. Over an hour in length, these giants of film scoring offer stories about their careers and truly compelling experiences which are often not heard anywhere else on the internet. They cover the industry, the challenges and excitement of working on film and tv, their time spent with the directors, and their unique contributions to the wonderful art of film scoring. They're thorough without being tedious. They're passionate without becoming overwhelmingly geeky or too nerdy for your average person. Additionally, everything is curated at such a great pace. For example, sprinkled in the podcast are a few mini-segments, keeping it light and fresh, and keeping you far from listening fatigue. My favorite has to be from music psychologist Siu-Lan Tan. As a musician myself, I love hearing her explain and comb through some fine details of a different film score segment. Fellow composers will truly enjoy these gems from Siu. And everyone will surely look forward to "Name! That! Score!" the unique game that will test everyone's film score trivia skills by challenging you to identify an audio segment played backwards. It's addictive! Honestly somebody should make a whole tv show based on that concept. But you have that and more, here in Score: the Podcast.

Great podcast for film music fans
This podcast is great for anyone fascinated by how music scores are written for film. Great insight into the intersection of the film and music business and always excellent interviews with composers.

Fun Show
I love hearing all of the discussion and insight about this amazing music! It’s fun to hear the composers’ stories and background. I’m not a fan of the explicit stuff, but I’m glad the episodes are labeled to give warning. I love the games at the end of each episode! So fun!

This is a name for name recital of the most amazing composers in the last Century!
If you even have a brief affiliation with the film music scene, or a deep appreciation, this is the show for you. Being able to draw inspiration from the greatest minds in cinematic music is an experience some can’t even pay a life savings for! The shows are well-structured and provide a balanced look at a composer’s entire essence. I hope this show continues to do the amazing things that they continue to do each week!

Musical Life of Film
This podcast gives an in-depth look into a composer’s life and work studio. I enjoy listening to the personal stories of how each composer came to write music for film and the little anecdotes for their thought process in certain cues. My favorite part is Name That Score game, played at the end of each episode. I do fairly well for those scores I’m familiar with, but good thing I can play for fun and not to release the prize!

Amazing show!
I came across “Score” after searching for shows related to David W. Collins’ “The Soundtrack Show.” Like TSS, this show is fun, casual and extremely informative. What I love most about this show though is their choice of content. They discuss aspects of scores that are not usually covered! Thank you Score crew for continuing to shed light on all the amazing music that this new era of composers are constantly creating!

A True Gold Mine
Can't say enough good things about this show. When I first found it I was listening to 3 or more episodes a day while at work. I'm now more than half way through my second listening and can't wait for the next season. The production quality is top notch. The host are incredible that bring wonderfuly balanced points of view and opinions without ever disrubting the flow of the show. Finally, the content is 2nd to none. If you're at all interested in film music and the process of creating it and the people that create it than you really can't miss a second. On a personal level, this show has been the final push encouraging me to start planning a move to Los Angeles and at least give this thing a shot. It's funny, fascinating, insightful, and inspiring. Keep up the amazing work. "It's AMAZINGGGG" - Robert Kraft

Stoked I stumbled across this!
Came across Score by chance while doing a deep dive into Ramin Djawadi’s work and I’m so glad I did. I’m a production manager so don’t really get to be involved in scoring but I’ve been obsessed with film and television score since I was a little girl and I’ve never had anyone to geek out with on this stuff. I was thrilled to find a podcast that was as enthusiastic about this stuff as I am. It’s a ton of fun and I learn so much. Love it!

Score is great
Love the format with the different segments. Name That Score is a fun one to play for family and friends. The interviews with the different composers are really interesting and eye opening. I played in the music industry for years but did very little film music, so to hear about the familiar parts with composing and recording combined with the unfamiliar (for me) terms like “cue” and difficult scenarios with directors, composing processes, collaborating with other artists... It is very inspiring and entertaining. Keep it up!!

A Blast of a Podcast!
As an aspiring 16 year old composer, it is such a cool thing for me to be able to hear the composers I love talk about everything. I will say, the occasional language is not my favorite, but otherwise, it is seriously inspiring and helpful, some of the tips the composers give. I can’t wait to get to get out into the field of film composing! - (Son of the owner of this account)

Best film scoring podcast!
As a professional media composer, this podcast is the most enjoyable and my favorite to listen to!Robert, Kenny, and all of the guests are well spoken in touch on topics in depth. I don’t know how a person learns to ask questions like Robert Kraft does, but I hope to be as insightful as him someday. Thanks to the team for making such a wonderful podcast that makes me enjoy sitting in traffic! And please!!! Bring back: Name. That. Score!

Learning Week After Week
This podcast, coupled with the documentary, is a big factor for me, as a musician, wanting to write and compose again. It is so awesome to hear how all these big time composers got to where they are today. The lucky breaks, the hard work and all the projects along the way are astounding to hear about. After every podcast is over I always say to myself, "I wish they were even longer. I want to hear more." Kenny, Robert, Carol and Matt all know their stuff and bring us the best talent in the business each and every week. Thank you for taking time to do this and I hope it goes on for a long time. I can talk music all day (unfortunately no one wants to listen), but this podcast is a way for me to get that same fix every week. Cheers and Thank You, again!

I Can’t Get Enough
This podcast is amazing. I could listen to it for hours. Robert has extensive experience which makes his comments insightful and his questions well Krafted (I-thank-you) while Kenny is delightful in his eagerness to share his passion for movies and learn about the ins and outs of film music. This podcast is funny, entertaining, and inspiring.

Wonderful
I’m relatively new to a love of film scores but hearing firsthand from composers about the magic that they produce is thrilling and a truly wonderful. I know everybody else has probably said the same thing, but I really hope Johnny Williams is on the show one day

Hooked!
Season two’s opener with Bear McCreary was one of the best interviews I’d heard with a composer. I’m so hooked. I’m going through season one now and can’t get enough! Whatever happened to “Name That Score” though?? Bring it back!

A treat for film music enthusiasts
My name is Kathryn and I’m a Score addict. Full disclosure: Fresh out of USC Cinema, in the late 80s, I landed a job with a film music talent agency. I got to sit at the feet of the greats like Mancini and Bernstein while rooting for the up-and-comers with a dream in their hearts and a Synclavier - some who are now the titans in the industry. While my career took me in a different direction, you could never take the love of film music out of this girl. Listening to the podcast is like a homecoming for me. I’m enjoying every minute of it. I loved the documentary and I’m loving the podcast. It’s quick-paced, interesting, informative and fun to listen to. Give me more!

Film Score Nuts: The Made This For Us
The title says it all. I’ve never experienced something that I feel was catered specifically for me as a buddy composer. I commend the creators for creating something that engages in a world I love so much, and helping me fall in love with it more and more every single day. It’s intuitive, insightful, and entertaining. A staple of my morning and afternoon commute.

please don't interrupt guests
Infomative. Good choice of film composers that unfortunately can't share a complete idea without being interrupted. Last episode, Henry Jackman was interrupted more than 50 times (counted them). Mr. Kraft, Mr. Holmes: please relax and listen, don't interrupt guests, we can't hear what they say if you talk over them.

Instant fan
I am a huge fan of movies scores and classical music. I am so happy theirs a podcast of music I enjoy. I am can’t play any instruments but I am gonna learn the piano in my mid 30’s. I got my brother listening to the podcast now. We usually play a version of name that score when we are in the car. Again thank you for the amazing podcast and keep up the great work Ricky

Excellent Film Music Podcast
As a composer and cinephile, I love this podcast. It’s both entertaining and educational. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves film music!

It’s a decent pod
It’s a decent pod. They do have tons of composers in the industry on, but I feel it’s not leveraged very well. I could do with the constant attempts to be “funny”. It comes off quite cheesy, but that’s just my opinion.

Incredible podcast about film scoring
I just recently discovered this podcast, binged it (gonna listen to each episode more than once) and I am a massive fan of the work done by Matt, Kenny, & Robert! The interviews and insights have been super informative to my aspirations of being a film composer, moving from NC to LA in late 2018. Thank you all for your amazing hard work, as you are providing a very motivating podcast for lovers of film music and aspiring composers! Your Friendly Neighborhood Muzikm4n (Adam Robert Galloway)

I "Scored" finding this podcast!
I loved "Score: A Film Music Documentary" and was simply thrilled to see that they created a podcast! Matt, Kenny, Robret, and all their incredible guests make you laugh, and I have learned so much about film music, which is a true personal passion. Every episode in season 1 has been a joy, and I can't wait to see what they do in season 2! Thank you to the whole Score team for creating this!!

Needs More Substance
The beginning banter always overstays its welcome. The conversations with composers include too much name dropping, industry connections, etc. I wish they spent more time analyzing the processes and the actual music of these talented composers. The "Name That Score" game inevitably frustrates when the hosts fail to recognize obvious cues. Come on, guys. Aren't you supposed to be the experts?

AWESOME podcast
This podcast is a great way to dive into the behind the scenes of movie composition and music in general. It’s entertaining, informative, and lots of fun. Listen to it!

My favorite podcast!
Have listened to 13 of these so far and just absolutely love this podcast. A great mix of hosts ask intriguing questions and provide an inside look to scoring films that I am thankful to learn about. What a great spinoff of the documentary for those of us wanting more. Love “Name That Score” each week! Would love to have Jordan Bieber as a guest-host! Great job Matt, Kenny and Robert! Robert’s industry insight is amazing. Thank you for this podcast!

Such fun to get a peek into the world of film composing!
Score: The Podcast is truly a delight every week! Kenny, Robert (and Matt) are fun and funny (the drops are hilarious guys) and it’s an enjoyable inside look into the world of composing for film by the incredible composers themselves! As a film music fangirl, this is just fantastic! Keep up the great podcast!

Make sure to start from Episode 001 and go through in order. A lot of the chit-chat is based around inside jokes from 3 or 4 episodes earlier, so you'll miss a lot if you don't start from Episode 001. I hope they can find a way to take out some of the meaningless chit-chat so they can focus on the meaningful conversation. And I hope they can find a way to stop talking over each other.

Fantastic Soundtrack Podcast!!!
I love the format. A little news, then they get down to the interview. Love the name that score contest! I appreciate that the people behind this podcast actually work in the industry. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to that John Williams interview, hint hint.

Wonderful!
I love this podcast so much! FINALLY a podcast about the real stars of the movies!

An excellent podcast with loads of insight on some of your favorite scores.
As a die-hard film fan and longtime score collector, I was thrilled to hear that someone was doing a doc about composers and their work - if a little jealous that I didn’t come up with the idea. Saw the film and loved it. Then, when I heard the filmmakers were doing a podcast, signing up was a no-brainer... and I haven’t been disappointed. The podcast is fairly new and has already done long-form interviews with some of my favorite current composers... and while they haven’t gotten the man who is arguably the big get (John Williams) yet, I’m confident it’s only a matter of time. I’ve met and worked with a lot of my cinematic heroes - from Spielberg and Cameron to Hans Zimmer, Dario Marianelli, and John Powell. I’ve had fascinating conversations with many of them over the years, but the conversations here are gold... even for the casual listener. Focused and fascinating... Dive in. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic
This podcast is the highlight of my work week. The hosts are incredibly knowledgeable and shed a lot of insight into the world of film scores and the guests composers/musicians are a huge bonus as well. I love being able to listen, discover new music, play along with the game, and then interact online with fellow fans after. I highly recommend Score: The Podcast!

So Much Better than 5 Stars
I absolutely love this podcast. I listen to podcasts all day at work and Tuesdays are by far the best days as I'll have new Score episodes to listen to. The hosts are engaging, the content is excellent, and Name That Score is super fun. Can't recommend this podcast enough.

Best day of the week
I look forward to this every Tuesday. I love hearing the composers talk about their films and what inspired them, it gives me hope for the future that one day I can do this too.

Great, unpretentious discussion with my favorite composers
Just found this podcast and love it already. Perfect balance of casual banter and discussion, pieces of the composer's work, and interesting trivia. A must for a film score lover, but worthwhile for those who are just film fans in general.

My New Favorite Show!
This is truly a wonderful show for anybody who has intereset or a passion for music written for film. I always thought I was odd for loving film scores. Listening to the hosts of this show makes me know that I'm not alone and there is a community out there that can hear music from wonderful composers and get goosebumps from the orchestral sounds that are put to film. I love the guests that are on the show. The hosts are great! Name That Score game is a great time in the car on my commute. Perfect formula for a show. Thanks guys!

Amazing!
I have been listening to Score: The Podcast every week since the start and each week’s episode is just fantastic! The Podcast is like an extension of the documentary, which I could watch a whole bunch of times and still learn something new. What I love about the podcast is that every week there is a new composer/ musician guest and they talk about their start in the industry, what it’s like collaborating, and much more! It’s great for aspiring and established composers. Behind the Score is another amazing inclusion to the podcast. Around the middle of each episode, we get a quick peak at something perhaps outside of the episode. I love learning about the psychology of the music! I also love the Name That Score game that is played at the end of every episode. If someone gets all 5 scores (played backwards) correctly, an audience member on twitter can enter to win something from that particular episode. You just need to use the hashtag #NameThatScore. It’s a great way to get the audience involved! Kenny, Robert, and Matt are just fantastic on the show. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in podcasts, movies, music, or just entertainment in general!
