I love it!
This is a podcast that views everything through a liberal filter which is such an affirmation for me. It’s an opportunity to listen to news that I agree with, without having to tolerate the things that I don’t. The variety of guests is fantastic. The only drawback is that the hosts sound a little like teenagers.

Amazing info & insightful speakers
Love to share this podcasts with my friends on what’s going on in U.S. policy. Every month a new episode is released that details a topic in plain language that’s interesting, up-to-date and super informative. Love listening to this + using it for school papers.

Concise, Academic, Interesting, and Accessible
This is the type of podcast that appreciates thoughtfulness and bringing academic consideration without the jargon. I would suggest this podcast to anyone looking for an interdisciplinary podcast to social science without the language that can make most scholarly subjects inaccessible to everyone but the professional researcher. No Jargon simultaneously balances this with not talking down to their audience.

No Jargon?
Pregnant “people”? Good substantive discussions too often subordinated to PC jargon.

Easy listen, easy learning
What a great show! No Jargon consistently puts out episodes with researchers that are easy to understand, not overly complex, but boy do they teach you a thing or two. Definitely check them out if you want to dig a little deeper on some fascinating subjects, without getting caught up in the jargon or methodolgy that often make academia so inaccessible.

Superbly Social
Lizzy, Miranda, and Dominik, along with their insanely knowledgeable guests are making sociology fun again! The wide variety of topics they cover and the engaging way in which they deliver them had me hooked from my very first listen. They’re also personable and funny, which let’s be honest; isn’t always the easiest to find in the Sociology world. Thanks for putting out such a great show guys - keep up the great work!

Excellent
Excellent, digestible nuggets of wisdom. Just jump past the circus-y and abrasive intro jingle.

Keep up the good work (but new music please)
This is an excellent show, which gives you quality scholarship in a digestible format. Just please - change the music; It totally misrepresents the material and makes me feel like I’m listening to keystone cops.

Boring and Simplistic
Pretty boring and one sided analysis of issues. They take complex and nuanced issues and simplistically approach them from only one side. Very dogmatic- propagandizing their view of truth rather than inviting the listener to search out truth with them.

Very informative
I only wish we could hear more right leaning researchers, but even so, really good material
Mr. Buster!
Brevity is the soul of wit.
Concise easily understood policy discussions.

Easiest way to get a steady drip of cutting edge research

Applying Science to Society
No Jargon is a production of the Scholars Strategy Network, whose purpose is to share and ultimately apply research findings. If you think science can help improve society, these podcasts are for you. Great topics, thoughtful questions, no jargon
I found this podcast through recommendations from "The Weeds" and have stuck with it since. The short, weekly episodes touch both on evergreen and timely topics, and discuss them very approachably without sacrificing depth.

Important and clear discussions
Fills a void in the podcast world. Could even be used in a HS classroom. (In some cases you would need to seek out another perspective to balance the one interviewee's.)

Top scholarly podcasts
Produced by the Scholar Strategy Network, this weekly podcast features scholars talking about cutting-edge research on politics, policy, and social issues in terms that are accessible to non-specialists. Highly recommended. Recent topics include sanctuary cities, power in politics, family planning, and Obamacare.

Terrific!
So glad I found this! In depth interview about really important topics explained by experts. Facts! It's what's for breakfast.

One of my favorites
I am a layman but also a podcast NERD, and I really love this show. It's one of my favorites. I really appreciate how in-depth they go into the issues, and look at all the different aspects of things. A great example of quality and thoroughness instead of the normal buckshot-approach so many media shows take.

Great introductions to current social science
I am a sociology Phd student and this podcast (along with the BBC's "Thinking Allowed") gives me a great way to keep up with what's going on in the field. I highly recommend it to whomever wishes to know a little bit more about current social science research.

Wonky, in a great way.
This podcast is a deep dive into some wonky topics with excellent guests and great references. I find myself much more informed with great context after listening to each episode.

Excellent Policy Podcast
Really gets into important issues, and as the name says, it does it without jargon.

Well-needed research in an increasingly fact-free discourse.
A refreshingly straightforward and data-based perspective on the world. A stark contrast to the click-baiting, fact-free, opining of so many journalists, think-tankers, and even activists. Suggestion: please include the links and suggested reading in the podcast description (and not just on the website) (since not all listeners listen via the website).

Hit or miss
I really wanted this to be a better podcast. It's a good format and easy to listen to, but there are still biases that come out in the dialogue. Neutrality is important to me, but several episodes, between the host or the guest, some subtle personal political bias came out in the way things were phrased. In some cases hyperbole. I think these things could have been controlled through editing. This is an ok podcast, but stars lost for claiming to be non-partisan and then using politically charged language in the content. It's not extreme, but it's there.

Love the emphasis on scientific research
A lot of news seems to focus on rumor or myth over fact and the emphasis on research results from experts in the field is great.

No Jargon, what is needed now.
Excellent podcast taking on the issues we need to consider right now. Best post election coverage I have heard.

Fantastic
I am loving this podcast! It covers topics that I don't see on the other news or science podcasts I listen to. The discussions are at a high enough level that I learn something meaty, but aren't so abstract that I can't discuss the main points to a friend later. I really appreciate the no-frills style of the podcast (no ads, no irritating music). I also think the interviewing style of the host is great - he asks very insightful questions that move the conversation along unobtrusively. The three-part series on the scarcity of female, minority, and working class candidates was particularly good. Overall, I can't recommend this podcast enough!

Love this podcast!
Every episode is so fascinating, and it helps me to be able to see and think about things from other perspectives. I can't say enough good things about it! Especially in this day and age, it's so refreshing to find real experts and scholars talking about important things going on in our world. Thank you for all the work that goes into this-- please keep it up!

Brainy people speaking plain english!
5 stars because it’s short, I always learn something, and the show is true to it’s title!

Great podcast!
This podcast is one of the most versatile and encompassing podcasts on current events around! SSN brings knowledgable scholars on once a week to discuss some of the hottest current topics on the news today, and each podcast is better than the last, in my opinion. The scholars offer eloquent and interesting insight into topics I previously believed I knew a lot about; they frequently offer news perspectives on key issues, and are definitely worth a listen!

This is a top notch podcast! Interviewing academics on their cutting edge research on public policy issues and how it connects to the rest of us. Awesome!

necessary in many ways
This podcast is in the brilliant position of being educational and impactful. It does not shy away from hosting a space in which strong, even controversial arguments can be made not built on the prejudices or preconceptions of any individual but rather on the strong, intellectually rigorous foundation of academic research. It is a resource for all of us as we attempt to intellectually and politically unravel the complicated social and economic phenomena that put too many Black men in prison, take away too many resources for female health care, prop up profitable enterprise over people's livelihoods, and so much more. And for those active in improving these crises, having knowledge as an ally is incredibly valuable. To those who have worked so hard to make this podcast, thank you for continuing to shine a light in a dark world.

STRength AGainst ignorance
An interesting, helpful, and clearly organized podcast about important stuff!
This podcast is great and exactly what I need! I am genuinely interested in hearing about important social or policy issues, currently at the forefront of political debate, but, admittedly, I have so little free time to investigate these on my own. Avi Green’s interviews with top researchers present us with an easy-to-digest introduction to a diverse collection of topics that I can finally feel more excited about discussing with friends, family, and colleagues. Each interview’s questions effectively manage to boil down the results of years of studies and analysis by top professionals, to the point in which trends become apparent, projections can be made, and action can be taken or suggested by normal folks, now armed with a more critical ear. Finally, No Jargon succeeds in living up to its name as Avi is hyper vigilant in never letting jargon or buzzwords slip by the microphone undefined or unexplained. So, now we know!

Intelligent Talk about Politics & Policy
Don't let the word "intelligent" (not often heard in context with politics) scare you. This listener-friendly podcast will let you in on the why and how behind what is happening in politics today.

It’s nice to hear info straight from the mouths of real experts! I like hearing a deeper dive and some objectivity on topics where there is usually so much hyperbole.

A fun way to go back to school
Love this new podcast! I travel a lot, so No Jargon has become my go-to entertainment during long drives and flights. It’s a great chance to hear today’s leading scholars talk about cutting-edge research on timely public issues that affect us all — and to do so in a way that’s easy for non-academics to understand. It’s like going to back to college, but where all your professors are rock stars.

No Jargon — for real.
The goal of this podcast is to share research findings on politics and policy from researchers at universities across the U.S. — without any academic mumbo-jumbo. So far, so good. Each episode is about 20-25 minutes long, and the topics are good.
AviGreen
Smart and timely
This podcast covers some of the most important issues, and it discusses each in a deep and approachable way. There is something very pleasant about hearing folks who really know what they are talking about. That clarity is especially important because there is often so much confusion (created) around these topics!
