Star_Wars_Episode_I_The_Phantom_Menace_movie_posterA long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. Welcome to Episode 47 of “Reel Chat” – a podcast that guarantees week in, week out – the “Reel world as we know it.”

On this very special (and extended) episode of our “Vintage Vault” retrospective series, host Adam Stolfo is joined by co-host Brose Avard and special guests Warwick Holt – writer, web producer and documentary filmmaker, as well as the returning multi-talented musician and writer James Hazelden to break down the single most maligned entry in the all conquering “Star Wars” universe – 1999’s “Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace.”

A film of this significance (which carries so much expectation and disappointment) deserves a deeper look than usual, so sit back, relax, and join the Reel Chat team as we tear this abomination of a first prequel to shreds.

Learn all about this film’s “riveting” story-line (it’s all about taxes after all – exactly what the kids want)… how director George Lucas was able to take a quality cast and get nothing but sub-par and embarrassing performances out of them all… John William’s score that tries in vain to make us care for these characters… the film’s stand as being the first Star Wars film released on DVD… it’s 3D re-release… the meaning of the “Machete order”… as well as exactly what is this “phantom menace” of which they speak!?

Star Wars fans rejoice. This is certainly an “epic” podcast for a poorly written, weakly directed and uninspired mess of a film. You may just enjoy our banter more than the film itself. “Gear-up” in preparation for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” this month!
