Just a Couple Things…
New listener here! Started with the Darkness on the Edge of Town episode because it’s one of my favorite Bruce albums. I just feel like if you two aren’t deeply affected by Something in the Night and Streets of Fire, it’s clear that you never “performed” them WITH FEELING in private. Anyway, thanks for making this. None of my friends want to hear me talk about Bruce Springsteen so this was nice. Even if you did go for the obvious faves. No shade.

Skip the first hour
You guys are so annoying. The first hour of each show is a waste listening to these idiots banter trying to be funny. I usually love Adam Scott but JESUS! Also, Bruce isn’t Stone Cold Steve Austin. The running “joke” of “Edible Street Band” is stupid and not funny and presented as if — if you didn’t know any better — was true. Finally, before every song sampling, is it supposed to be funny to say this is “Thunder Road” a song by Bruce Springsteen. Obviously it’s by Bruce Springsteen, it’s a Bruce Springsteen podcast! so obnoxious to say it before every sampling.

Insufferable
Why do podcasters with special guests blather on so long before the guest? Over an hour in before Peter Buck speaks. I’d love 5 minutes and a lead pipe with whoever told these clowns they were funny. Shut up and let him talk. Peter has had to sit through these kinds of insufferable hosts his whole career. The questions they ask are so insulting and vapid that it’s almost unlistenable. Please stop.

Amazing show
Who’s Bruce Springsteen? I’m tuning in to hear the Scotts spring Springsteen on my bean. This show is my fav podcast of all time. I’m forever thankful for it.

My favorite podcast ever
I’ve been listening for 10 years and I never plan to stop. Please keep finding artists to cover, Scott + Scott! We LOVE YOU

Tuned in to one episode to give the podcast a shot. Discussing the topic didn’t start until 35 minutes in. Prior to that I got plenty of name-droppy goodness about being on a network comedy and appearing on late night talk shows. This is why I prefer podcasts made by everyday people.

Is this an episode of Fast Forward an hour
I do really enjoy the music stuff and tolerated the first 30 to 60 minutes for about 8 episodes then decided I need those hours back. Why be frustrated w/ first half of the show when I could be happy with the second half.

2023 Era
I've noticed that lately they've been listening to (and talking about) a lot of songs by Bruce Springsteen. They don't cover The E(dible) Street Band members' names at the start of each episode so I feel a bit lost at times, but the show as a whole is still above average. Overall, I give it a C+.

Great Job
My two ideas: do one episode with Paul and Lauren as the guests and do Radiohead next. Great job, do not cut it down in time, the longer the better, you guys are great, I’m too tired to say anything clever or funny

A podcast to help you fall asleep
Just a couple of low-key dudes talking in mellow tones about the greatest podcaster in history, Bruce Springsteen. Easy to sleep to.

Hip hip hooray aka you slippin hip songs on this trip
I’ve been listening intently to every episode of CBB fm hoping to find out that Scott Aukerman owns a few Tragically Hip songs amongst the thousands of songs in his collection. On episodes where a Canadian guest is on I get so hopeful but alas no luck. Finally today I hear my beloved band during this episode of You Springing Springsteen on my Bean sub episode Hip hip hooray! Great ep! C+

Worst Podcast Ever
Want to prove Scott Aukerman isn’t funny? That’s easy, just listen to this garbage podcast with weak and boring improv.

Scott and Scott remain laser-focused on the task at hand, never following any tangents or whims… It’s a delight.

Uncovering Truth
Many podcasts about music cover parts of that music but this one covers everything about the music. For instance, names. I’ve labored for years under the idea that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band was his whole Christian name, but I learned from Scott and Scott that he’s actually Catholic! And that his band is part of his name too. I also learned that each album has a different title but they all are by the same person, which can get confusing when each cover looks so unique. All in all I hate music but these guys sure can speak.

Music Education
I just started listening and I’m already excited to learn more about the man who threw a flag during his Super Bowl halftime performance. Who is he? Where did he come from? Does he sing songs about his hometown or home state ever? What are the names of his band members? Help me out boys! I have one question: What does comedian Todd Glass think of the album Neglasska?

Good music criticism
These two guys know they’re stuff!

Great 4 fans of rock n roll music
I love this show. Really gets to the meat of Harry Potter and classic films. I wish they didn’t overwork themselves, though — two U2 episodes in 5 years? Don’t burn yourself out, guys!

“I know how I wanted/this to be”
I loved the episode about REM’s New Adventures in Hi-Fi. It’s a terrific album and terribly underrated — and despite Scott A’s criticism, I maintain that Undertow is a great song, and it’s an essential piece of the record. A million critics have been praising and dissecting and second-guessing albums like Murmur and Pageant and Automatic for decades. But relatively few have done the deep dive into Up or Reveal or Collapse, and i like hearing Scott and Scott go track by track through them, even when it’s a rough ride.

A great trip down memory lane
I started re-listening to U Talkin’ U2 2 Me? and oh boy, it’s still better than any Ted Talk I’ve ever watched or given about U2. Comprehensive? Check. Encyclopedic? Check. Compendium? As far as I can tell, it’s the only compendium that exists in podcast form. If you don’t mind two hosts named Scott that sound like the same—nay—might be the same person, this is the only podcast you should ever listen to, except for R U Talkin’ REM Re: Me and R U Talking Talking Heads to My Talking Head? Just dive in and stay a while, then when you’re done, listen to it in 8 years and teach the world to sing!

Love the 1 star reviews, this show is awesome!
If you are a very serious person, you came to the wrong podcast. All the 1 star reviews reminds me of going to see Talladega Nights with my grandpa and leaving with him angrily grumbling, “I thought there was going to be more racing”

Adam is cool
I used to like this show and I would listen to Adam Scott talk about anything but with a different friend. I cannot figure out why he is doing a pod with the other unfunny cringy guy.

More !!!
Okay, this podcast is not for everyone. They do ramble on for like a solid hour before they even get to the topic, but after the first few episodes I really enjoy the banter. It’s just a like an appetizer before they get to the good stuff. I jumped on when they were doing the Talking heads, and just went back from there. I was surprised to see the return of the single ep for RCHP’s new album and was reminded how much I miss new episodes. Please come back with more eps soon, I know there are so many other artists to do a dive into! 💖

I’m not even a fan of RHCP
I’m not even a fan of RHCP but I found the way in which they handled the switch to Talking Heads in episode two to be so contemptuous of the audience. After spending the first episode apologizing and explaining why talking about RHCP would be interesting I let myself believe them and get invested. That was a mistake.

Honest Review
Their initial run of U2-focused episodes from 2014 is just about the pinnacle of podcasting… for me.

Why oh why does it take them
30 minutes to get to the subject of the podcast? You banter isn’t entertaining enough so I lose interest.

A great show about stuff
Can’t believe it took me so long to discover this show about old sourpuss, the overlord of all bands like U2 and Talking Heads, with special guest appearances by Huey Lewis who released an album called Sports and Paul F. Tompkins who I once saw on VH1, I think. Also, I Love Films and the US Festival.
bonesbrigade5
One Host?
I think it was a terrific idea to finally get an encyclopedic body of work on the band U2 out into to world but what is up with the host, Scott? He’s just having a conversation with himself? It sounds to me like he may be suffering from some kind of mental disorder but I don’t think he is crazy because he does know all of the band members’ names in multiple bands.

Encyclopedic in its Breadth
I listened to all of these over 8 years and I am the better for it. I learned the names of all the people in the band(s), and I know how I would change the order of the songs on all the albums for the best listening innocence and experience.

Not a music podcast, not fun, not interesting
One hour of killing time, and they finally get to the album, only to ditch it for a fun U2 tangent. I probably would have loved the podcast that this episode pretends to be. This, however, is a podcast for people who want to spend time hanging out with Scott Aukerman. My love for the Talking Heads is so great, I was willing to give this podcast so much room in the hope I would get even a little out of it. Congratulations on making me bored and angry over my favorite band. How did the guy who was a part of all those amazing Comedy Bang Band episodes decide Chris Fartz was a fun recurring joke?
