This was one of the best Potter podcasts out there. I enjoyed how the books and movies were analyzed and discussed. I miss the show as the hosts have moved on to other topics, but they will always be remembered for their contribution to this fandom. Thank you! Your show will be missed.

The podcast is very boring for me.

I just recently started listening to this podcast. I started with some episodes in 2007 to hear what it was like when the 7th book came out. I also listened to their newer episodes, and let me just say that it has gone very much downhill. In 2007, the show was nothing but pure Potter celebration and magic. But fast forward to now—if you like a show where the hosts do nothing but ramble about their conflicted feelings on the trans movement or how they feel about Trump, or their frustration on representation, then this is the show for you. Instead of a show where the hosts love Harry Potter, this has become a show where the hosts hate Harry Potter. It’s really quite sad because it used to be so great. Now it is just depressing, political, and controversial. #PotterCastgotwoke #expectopaWOKE Update: they are now doing episodes on Last of Us?? Why is this podcast even called Pottercast? One of the biggest pieces of Harry Potter media just released, Hogwarts Legacy. Everyone is raving about it and playing it non stop, but yet Pottercast can be bothered to even mention it and instead decided to do an episode on a zombie TV show. Ridiculous.

This was a fun podcast but they don't really have regular episodes anymore. Also, seems that they've switched to other topics and shows rather than harry potter.

I am listening to MuggleCast and I keep hearing them mention Potter cast on their older episodes so I decided to try and find you So far you’re making me laugh more than a MuggleCast but it’s still going to take some hard work to make me a true fan and a banded MuggleCast.

I'm all teary listening to the LeakyCon live podcast, hearing them talk about the joy of fandom, and how it connects us, even in the face of JKR’s transphobia. Thanks for that!

I learned about this podcast by listening to Criminal (really great true crime podcast. Check it out if you like that kind of thing) I am a huge potter fan, been reading and watching for years. I even went to see the broadway show of cursed child, and been to universal. I love this podcast, and the fact that I heard about it on another favorite was just so amazing!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️🪄🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♂️🦄🔮🔮🔮 Ps What happened to you in the episode was SO WRONG. Whatever this girl thinks you did was so not true and justice will be served. Hang in there!!!

Hey, I am a real Harry Potter geek and I love your show so much! it’s one of the best Harry Potter podcast’s that I’ve listened to. it’s amazing and I’ve learned some ( not much but SOME) from it. I recommended it to ALL MY FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!

This is so horribly I wanted submerging funny but this is not I hate all the people that like this

They ruin any excitement that might be had with spoilers and negativity. You need better alerts when you’re about to completely ruin a movie with all the spoilers and plot points before it even comes out. This podcast posts so little and when it does, its negative and makes me wonder why they have a “fan” podcast anyway. I feel worse about my day after listening and that didn’t use to be the case. It used to be fun, enlightening and a theme of comradery. Sadly, no more.

Really hilarious listening to a group of maladjusts whining about JKR’s perspective as a feminist. They all have so little respect for her as a person despite how much her work and her imagination has shaped their lives. It’s as entitled as it is delusional as it is pathetic.

Absolutely torturous to listen to. I despise this podcast.

This show used to be a pretty good Harry Potter podcast but lately when they rarely do put a show out it’s pretty much a competition on who can say the most “woke” things and who can say the word inclusive the most. How about leaving politics out of it for just ONCE!

I’ve loved Pottercast for a long time now - listening and getting to revisit this series I’ve loved so much feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket of nostalgia. I appreciate the hosts standing up for trans rights in light of the author’s comments. However, I hope they keep in mind that why we love listening to the podcast is because we get to revisit the world we love so much. While we can stand against the author’s views, I hope we can keep our joy when talking about HP and not let negativity take over. That’s why we listen after all this time. 🙂

I’ve been with you guys since the beginning, through Christmas filk and Mr Blood. Listening to you guys is like having a chat with my friends. I’m often caught talking out loud as though you can hear me! Not to mention laughing out loud. What you’re doing matters. Thanks and keep up the good work.

The internet can be a harsh place. Pottercast is first of all fun! And coming in a very close second is welcoming, inclusive and open. The hosts are, at the same time, astoundingly intelligent and beautifully humble. I CAN’T miss an ep!

A once great podcast that feels totally directionless now. The hosts’ hearts aren’t in it anymore, episode releases are sparse and irregular, and it doesn’t seem like they know what they want this show to be anymore.

So appreciative of the conversations around the trans and other marginalized communities in the fandom as I wrestle with my own feelings towards the series I love and hate that I cannot support. Y’all are great!

Been listening since the very first episode. Love that it’s still fun and funny and that there’s still so much to discuss. It’s changed somewhat over the years, but the hosts (& the folks that assist in so many different ways!) are a great. Not afraid to confront the shortcomings of the stories and “real life” but they do it with intention and respect, which is appreciated.

Love this podcast and the hosts. I’ve been listening to this show for years and I get excited every time there’s a new episode. They have so much love for the fandom and all of the people in it, it is truly a bright spot in what is sometimes a tricky fandom to be a part of. Love you Pottercast!

This is my favorite HP podcast. There are a few long-running HP podcasts but I admire this one the most for not shying away from political issues and criticism of the author. Other shows have distanced themselves from the author but are not so explicit in their denouncement and shy away from discussing political opinions for fear of losing listeners. I respect Pottercast more for expressing their views because it’s the right thing to do. Trans women are women, trans men are men, and Pottercast knows this and wants everyone to know that too. The fandom is a very accepting and loving place and anyone who wants a home here can find it.

... at least. I’ve been listening to Pottercast for so long they’re like family to me. From Melissa to John, to Frankie and Sue, my mind is comforted when I hear their voices. I think they stand up for the right thing, like the Order of the Phoenix would, including Trans rights/respect and overall will to see light in a dark world.

Just writing to say I appreciate how great this show is at addressing things that matter. This show is hilarious, ethical, and amazing.

I understand if people don’t agree with others opinions, but the length people go to try and demonize people just because they don’t share the same opinion is the antithesis of what is SHOULD mean to be an adult l. I’ve told my 7 year old a couple times that “it’s ok not to like the same thing” when his friends don’t want to play with his toys. I feel like these host didn’t get the “it’s ok to be different and share different views” as kids. I blame their parents

You mean a spin off covering the history of the Ministry of Magic? Like from the first Minister to the current? I could see that since there is a lot of information on Ministers. I actually have listed them by years according to the information that I have found. Also, was the DADA classroom on the 3rd floor? Finally if anyone knows the names of the Wizarding Schools that we haven’t already seen in the films I would be ever grateful.

I didn’t listen to Pottercast as it came out live over the years. As a huge Harry Potter fan, I started listening in 2017 w/ Troll in the Tineline and loved it! A few months later I decided to start at the beginning, and now, 2 years and many walks later, I only have one more episode until I’ve looped back to Troll. So hard to believe. The show is amazing, and while I’m sure it was great to listen real time, it was fantastic to listen to the debates and theorizing knowing what would occur. I’ve now been to two Leakycons, and just love the whole thing. SOOOO recommended for ANY Potter fan!!!!

PotterCast declines in quality and increases in political rhetoric and creates a hostile space for Harry Potter Fans. With dozens of better options out there, skip this one.
