So Glad They Are Back!
Intelligent, funny and empathetic. Their real world film and TV knowledge shines through. They also love to talk theories and ideas. Love this podcast!

I love Ken!
Hi, I’ve been listening to your podcast for a while. I’m actually an old fan of Lost Mythos. Saying that to say, I’ve never had the pleasure of listening to Ken on his old show, but he makes a great addition to the DVR network. I loved the deep dive you guys just completed. I was left wanting more conversation and insight about the final episode from you guys. I wanted one of those throw back lost podcasts that when on for 3-4 + hours! It was hard for me to even listen to other shows that I usually enjoy with regard to this episode because their opinions were biased in that they’re upset the season was rushed or didn’t like the outcome of their favorite character 🙄. What I love about your show and the last deep dive in particular, is that you all chose not to dump on GOT and/or the writers by picking those obvious nits. Instead you all accepted what was presented to us and dissected it from there. Axel & Ken make a great team and your minds seem to compliment one another. This is my first time taking the time to leave a review for any podcast...I had to google how to even do it lol. Keep up the amazing work. Oh and thanks for shouting me out as a Patreon, did not expect to here my name! And I’m so glad my name is associated with one of the best podcasts you all have put together for the season. I would have felt the same about this podcast whether you did or not. - Aaliyah

Podcast Winterfell from its inception has been great and continues the tradition of great dialogue of the show we all love the Game Of Thrones! Ser Axel , Ser Heath and Ser DJ, will alway have you covered like a 3-eyed raven. So put on your Sennheiser headphones and be knighted⚔️

Great theories/ideas
Love this podcast!! So many great thoughts! Really helped me think about different theories and ways bin which the show might go!

My only regret
Is that I found this wonderful podcast in season. In the immortal words of Leslie Knope to Michelle Obama “I agree with you for all time and in every way, on every thing.” But above and beyond all that, the thoughtful measured way Axel and Ken dive in and approach each episode is so refreshing, I may go back to S1E1 and listen to these 2 recap every episode from the beginning! They could recap Friends, and enthrall Is, if they decided to. And when it comes to GoT, they genuinely care, are invested, and enthusiastic about the show. Complete adoration from this new listener.

I am thrilled to hear that you (and your family) share my love of the Blue Devils. Zion Madness is definitely a great way to whet my appetite for the final season of GOT. Go House Stark! Go Duke! - Longtime Subscriber

The real deal!
The best one I could find on the subject. Good presenters, nothing annoying, interesting conversations and reviews of both books and tv show. Very pleasant and intelligent.

Terrific Podcast
This is fast becoming my favorite GoT podcast. Love the deep dives into theories (see the 6 part discussion on the Great Northern Conspiracy!). What really stands out for me though are Matt’s Clef Note episodes. In these he dissects and analyzes the soundtrack for the GoT episodes. His explanations are not only fun and informative, they also explain music theory ad harmony in a way that is easy to understand. Can’t be beat!

It was an awesome podcast now is bad
I listened to Podcast Winterfell for 2 years, I loved it. The original host left this wonderful podcast to people that doesn't make the cut, they make theory from nothing, they do not provide some evidence and I thinks is just a piece of trash. I am sorry, I used to love this podcast, but now is just one more of the one million Game of Thrones podcasts in the wild. Used to be good now is just bad.

Great podcast
I've been listening to Axel and the gang since the lost days. It is like talking with old friends at this point. Axel produces a excellent podcast both in content and style. Couldn't ask for more.

Love Podcast Winterfell
What a great community this podcast has created. And, I love Clef Notes. For sure, there is content here that you can't get anywhere else. And, you get a great community to boot! Chad from The Duke and Duchess Podcast

Great commentary but the sound balance makes it unlistenable
The volume difference between is so great it makes it impossible to listen without constantly adjusting the volume
March maddingness
Unsubscribing
These people are totally uninformed and have no insight into the action on the screen. Very unintelligent people.

Do you like anything about the show at all? Had to stop listening... worse got pod cast I've ever heard.

New listener. Wow am I bored
Love GoT and wanted to listen to some GoT talk. This podcast is just blabbering about I'm not sure what. 5 minutes in and he isn't talking about GoT yet, just other podcasts and nonsense

This podcast Rocks!
Matt and the gang are awesome GoT and book authorities.

Great Podcast
Sorry to hear you're leaving just as I'm finally getting around to leaving a review. Good luck with your music and hope you can visit with the new overlords now and then. I loved the smart/witty/geeky tone of the podcast and while I'll still listen I will definitely miss your unique voice.

Just a fan......
I started listening to this podcast a few years ago because of my love of both game of thrones and a song of ice and fire! Both the show recaps are great to listen to, because we all miss things that others may catch onto but I really enjoy the theory episodes because we all have those tinfoil moments when reading the books. Also, it's cool to know that you're a local (314 representing!). Keep up the awesome episodes! Looking forward to both the next season AND hopefully TWOW sometime this year!

7 Stars for Podcast Winterfell
I have no idea why, but my Star Rating was looking like only 2 stars?!? Is iTunes broken? I give this FIVE STARS!!! Other GoT podcasts (which shall remain nameless) seem more intent on talking about things OTHER than Game of Thrones or the Song of Ice & Fire books. This is the true Podcast of Light

Great Show
Easily the best podcast for George RR Matin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series of books and HBO’s Game of Thrones series. Matt is a great host with wonderful, knowledgable guest panelists. I’ve listened to most of the GOT podcast and this is the only one I listen to regularly. If you have any interest in Martin’s universe you should have a listen….hours of entertainment.

Great Podcast for GoT Heads
Love listening to this podcast during the long wait between the seasons of the Game of Thrones on HBO and for the release of Winds of Winter. **SPOILERS BELOW** Matt, ever since I've listened to your perspective about prophecy in Game of Thrones, I cant help but think that Danerys will not make it to the end of the (TV) series and die in the north... The reason being: in her vision in the house of the undying (in the TV show), she visits the burnt throne room, then is in the North... and then she sees Khal Drogo and Rhaego... I hope I'm wrong... we'll see what happens.

One of the best of ASOIAF
Well done cast, great content, so refreshing to listen to a present / host that doesn't bash the show and is capable of sharing book comparisons objectively. Well done Matt!

One of the best GoT/ASOIAF podcasts
This is easily one of the best GoT/ASOIAF podcasts. Matt does a great job as he's extremely knowledgeable, has great guests, yet isn't pretentious in his delivery (I've found this to be an annoying feature on some other podcasts). This podcast hits the right tone for both those listeners who are just show watchers and those who have a(n) (un)healthy obsession with the series/books.

GoT/ASOIAF Gold!
Matt M. and his occasional guests are a joy to the mind and ears. A quality podcast on all levels - intriguing, insightful content, mutually respectful host(s)/guests/listeners, fantastic audio and insightful interpretation & speculation. Bravo! (...or is it Bravos...?😏)

Year 'round Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire podcast
If you are looking for a great Game of Thrones and/or A Song of Ice and Fire podcast you will be doing yourself a huge solid by subscribing to this one. Matt Murdick is passionate, sincere and incredibly hard working. He keeps busy in the off season of the show with deep, deep dives into GRRM's most popular story by analyzing all of the available various books available. He enlists a fantastic cast of characters (I'm looking at you Fittentrim) to help him along the way.

My First GOT Podcast. Still the Best.
I now listen to multiple GOT podcasts, but just like coitus, you never forget your first. This podcast is still unrivaled in its in-depth analysis. Matt delves deeper into the ASOIAF world than any other podcast I've ever listened to, and for that reason, he has no peers. Anyone who obsesses over GOT/ASOIAF will not be disappointed.

Excellent podcast. Great quality and very knowledgeable host. Love listening and look forward to each episode. So fun to "talk"(wish I could sit down and have a coffee with him!LOL) to another super-fan of all things Game of Thrones!

Fun Character Examinations and Entertaining Tinfoils!
This is a great podcast for book and show fans alike. There are so many GOT/ASOIAF podcasts out there... This one is worth your time if you're interested in character analysis from both show and book angles. Have a listen, learn more about your favorite characters, and immerse yourself in some fun and tinfoil-y conversations! This is a great way to keep your GRRM fires stoked while waiting for TWOW.

Sadly, the rating system won't go as high as it should to seven, for the Faith of the Seven. The Father judges this podcast great The Mother shows mercy to all who listen The Warrior would fight anyone who disparages the podcast The Maiden finds the host (and guest hosts) rather sexy The Smith respects the podcast as a work of art The Crone sees great things in the future for the podcast The Stranger could not be reached for comment.

Awesome GoT Podcast!
Podcast Winterfell is one of the first podcasts I discovered when getting into podcasts. I was hungry for GoT info and discussion, and Podcast Winterfell delivers both. The host, Matt, does an awesome job behind the mic. He knows and enjoys the material (books and tv show) and he speaks clearly and professionally, but he's never arrogant or rude. He's a fan that enjoys talking to other fans and that comes through in the podcast. PW tackles all aspects of GoT and ASOIAF, whether it be theories, news, music, reviews/breakdowns, discussions, etc. Matt is a great host and this is a great podcast.

Different than the rest
Westeros all year! Besides being thoughtful and knowledgeable about the show, there has been great specific character episodes since the season ended.

Best ASOIAF Podcast!! Insightful, funny, analytical
This podcast is hands down the best out there Planetos! Winter isssss Coming, and if you are going to sruvive it you had better listen to Podcast Winterfell so you can get all the info you need to survive the next night! This podcast covers ASOIAF and GoT from so many angles, it does in depth unlike a lot of the shallow dumbed down podcasts out there that bore me to tears! They discuss and analyze world theories, they do compelling Tv reviews, they do read throughs, plot analysis, character analysis, linking latter books to relevant former books, creating a wonderful and colorful tapestry for the entire story and epic literary universe that is A Song of Ice and Fire. I am also soooo happy someone finally discussed the thing that has been on my mind awhile but never looked up online... WHERE THE HELL DID ALL THESE BLACK NON-VALYRIAN STONES STRUCTURES COME FROM????? I am so pumped they have been discussing the Great Theory of the Dawn lately to answer this question. This podcast is like the academic version of ASOIAF podcasting makes all the others look like they are down by drunk aurocks with head full of turnips "The Night is dark and full of turnips!"

Most detailed info on G of T
This podcast has been much better lately even in the off season, others take a break. But the Aria and Bran episodes with sound cuts from the show explaining all the back story is awesome. I thought your insight and theories were so good you got me thinking about things that I would have never thought of if I hadn't listened to your podcast. Keep up the great work, and include more info from other characters, like Maybe Jon, or Tyrian.

Intelligent podcast!
I listen to a lot of GOT/ASOIAF podcasts and this is one of my favorites! I love the theory and character specific episodes, I don't feel like anyone else is doing this so it's really fun. Matt gets really in depth with topics and really makes you think about things which is something I love. I really enjoy the call ins and the clef-notes episodes are also great!!

Sorely Missing You
Podcast Winterfell was the best Game of Thrones podcast available from week to week and I only hoped they would change their mind and continue moving forward with their work. I know sometimes Thrones can be tough to swallow but this is medieval times, before any of the advances in our societies took place, when people that would be labeled today as "savages" were the ones that had the ability to control larger sections of societies with zero resistance. I understand it can be tough to deal with but I also connect the type of time period the show portrays as being one of great inequality and downright extremely violent. All of that being said, Podcast Winterfall was the best. The podcast I looked forward to every single week. The would i would reload again and again hoping the new episode would update. With so many podcasts about Thrones that seriously doesn't even seem like the people even watch the show much less read the books but that they instead read from a script. It's getting to be unbearable. I miss Podcast Winterfell.

Awesome!!! But...
I do like this podcast a lot. I especially enjoy the latest theory crafting podcasts. But please, if people are taking the time to listen to the podcast for two hours, keep it to the more plausible things. Speeding 15min talking about how Coldhands is Jon who time travelled, or that Joffrey is the answer to everything is funny once maybe twice. By the thirst time I want to not listen to this anymore. It's a little disrespectful to avid listeners who really like the detail, discussions and serious aka most plausible text based theories. Otherwise - yes to everything. Also, so great when you have a full panel of guests.

Really great ASOIAF podcast.
Not only does Matt pay respect to GRRM and his fans, but he offers great commentary on the billions of ASOIAF theories out there.
