I have been studying Spanish for 30 plus years. Yikes! This is just the best. The host and host are amusing and funny and the content is superior. This is by far my favorite way to learn Spanish! This Podcast is amazing for advanced Spanish learning. The person has to buy the "Premium". Like $10 a month. You get the written transcription and can highlight the word or sentence and push to get the "translate" (downloaded). This a awesome. Been using this for almost one month. Highest recommendation for anyone learning advanced Spanish.

Really great podcast presented in clearly spoken intermediate level Spanish from Spain. Interesting topics, current news reports and weekly shows dedicated to colloquial words and phrases. I’ve now listed to hundreds of episodes of Hoy Hablamos and my comprehension of Spanish has increased immensely. Having listened to dozens of different podcasts and youtube shows looking for the right one to improve my Spanish in my efforts to learn, I believe that this is one of two that rises to the top. This one may actually be the best of the bunch.

I’m an Intermediate level Spanish speaker and this, so far, is my favorite of all the podcasts that a notch or two less difficult than those directed at native speakers. Content is really good. And having the transcripts to review, to catch those three or four new words, is invaluable. Una alhaja sin duda.

The best instructional student driven Spanish podcast. In my view you need level B1 at minimum but Roi does a ton of work and the content is fantastic. Premium membership is so worth it. PDFs of all. Great deal.

Really like when he talks with his native friends whom speak very natural. Transcript great for new words and frases. Definitely a good podcast to improve your level.

I am a fairly advanced Spanish learner having traveled to Spain dozens of times over the past 15 years. In between trips, however, I like to refresh my Spanish and to stay current. Hoy Hablemos is the perfect way to do both! I particularly like the care with which the narrator enunciates the spoken words and that he speaks with an educated Castellano. He is easy to understand and the large number of podcasts means I won’t run out of them for quite a while.

I love this podcast with Roy. As I am learning Spanish he is easy to understand as his speaks with clear intonation.

I started learning Spanish on my own with Duolingo last summer and I was looking for a way to improve my listening skills. This podcast is perfect for me. The Spanish accent can be a bit tricky if you are accustomed to Latin American Spanish but Roy is so easy to understand. His pronunciation is clear, yet very natural. I really appreciate the explanations of colloquial phrases. Los temas son útiles, interesantes y divertidos. Escucho todos los días y ahora puedo entender casi todo!! Muchas gracias Roy!!!

The instructors are clear, material well organized, quantity of material introduced each time is just right. Many examples are provided. Variety in approaches-stories, conversations. Light hearted but effective. Includes a review at the end. Good follow up on topics from one podcast to another.

This podcast is wonderful. Very helpful for working in Spanish listening. The host always comes up with interesting subjects to discuss and his sometimes cohost Roy and him seem to have a lot of fun together. Overall, it is a great space to learn.

This has been an incredible resource for me as I work on improving my Spanish. I agree with another reviewer: it is the best of its type that I’ve found. There are already around 700 podcasts to choose from on so many different topics covering culture, politics, history, sports, interesting (often unusual) news items as well. This is in addition to their other podcast that focuses just on grammar (which I’d also recommend) I have really learned a lot! New podcasts are added Monday - Friday. It’s free to listen to the podcast. I just listened at first but now pay the very reasonable fee to have access to the podcast transcripts and support their work.

I recently discovered this podcast and am super impressed with the large variety of content as well as the presentation. So many practical topics to help train your ear and expand your vocabulario. :-) And I mean, come on: ¿A podcast in Spanish that references the Simpsons (yes, of Homer fame) to discuss la familia en español? Absolutely brilliant!

Truly an excellent podcast. There is a little slang included, or idioms in Spanish culture that augment your vocabulary significantly. Also being older, I appreciate the speaker being younger and a little more ¨hip¨. Again, this makes the vocabulary more applicable.
