So glad to have this network to check out music podcasts.

Too many unnecessary interjections that interrupted the flow in the Murder In The Front Row ep. Took over an hour to finally get to talking about the story movie, which was supposed to not be the story of Metallica, but then proceeded to direct the conversation to discuss mostly Metallica.

I have loved the variety and volume of shows! Some aren’t my taste, but I can always find something I’m interested in and something new to subscribe to!

Loved this podcast when it started, but has lost its way with less focus on quality and hosts that don’t have the depth of a mudpuddle. The John Prine “tribute” is a great example.

Rock & roll archaeology was a good podcast with a few spin offs worth listening to (like rock & roll librarian). Affiliation with Pantheon has added way too much junk. I tried listening to a few and now find I delete 90% of what hits my feed. Colossal step backwards.

Love the show, but am unable to access Michael Nesmith episode via WiFi or cellular. Could you please repost? Thanks!

I originally subscribed to the Rock & Roll Archaeology Project and enjoyed some of the other regular pods they would gradually roll out under that umbrella but it’s absolutely bonkers now. So many shows makes for really inconsistent quality of hosts/guests/subject matter. It’s frustrating that all these shows are released under this one subscription, they should really be broken up so people can find the hosts/topics that interest them most.

Way too many different podcasts.

Connor’s use of the word “Like” numerous times just drives me crazy and prevents me from listening to this podcast. It shows a lack of language skills to communicate. Perhaps my review sounds mean but he can easily improve himself by playing back this episode and expand his vocabulary.

Love that there is episodes from many of the podcasts on this network. Great to have so much content from different shows. Only show I think is a big let down is Rock Candy. Do not want to listen to two drunk host, I could go to the bar at closing to do this. That show brings down the quality of the feed.

Confirms my long- held belief that “radio” personalities are too glib to be interesting, and often know very little about the subject matter.

The titles do not allow you to view the files in a logical order nor can i find specific episodes because the titles are not descriptive- ideas? The content is great!

Listened to the episode with Jorma and that’s all it took. This is now my favorite and in my opinion the best R & R podcast out there. Great host who knows how to listen to the guests and get their best stories and experiences for the subscribers. TNX.

Sorry these 2 ladies are not good in any way. Their remarks are so mundane. I mean they are terrible interviewers. Good content. Lousy delivery

I love all the segments and episodes. I especially enjoy the Rock n Roll Librarian episodes. Great discussion of books about some of our favorite musicians. Great stuff!

I stumbled upon this while searching for guitar related podcasts. I’ve been listening to this podcast series non-stop for a week now and have really enjoyed it! Loving Andy King and Reel Rock! It’s a fun-sized highly entertaining review of some music-centric movies. I’m a music movie lover so right up my alley. I also enjoy Deeper Digs with Swain. I consider myself a music historian of sorts and enjoy all the workings of the industry. I’m a musician myself and find the art of music, especially rock/pop, fascinating. Well done and I look forward to binging more of this and becoming an “official” digger!

This started out as a great podcast about the history of rock and roll, but now seems to be several podcasts jammed together covering books, films, roadies, recording sessions, etc., except the history of the people who created the music! I think the last podcast covering the original subject matter was months ago about The Who and The Kinks. Split this up into separate podcasts so your podcasters can focus on one or two topics and the listener doesn’t have to see dozens of episodes on a wide variety of subjects. If someone wants to listen to all the different podcasts, they can subscribe to 6+ different podcasts. Personally, I don’t want to know every aspect of creating music.

Just found this podcast and I’ve been bingeing it for a few days now. What a great pint of view of rock history.

This podcast is amazing! As a fan of music history and having lived ( at a young age) in the culture of this time period, I find the stories woven together in this podcst compelling. From the point of view of some of the people involved, to the details of specific events- Great stuff!!!

Probably the least accurate history podcast I’ve listened to, and that includes Last Podcast on the Left. This podcast is about as deep and accurate as the respective subject’s Wikipedia page. Avoid.

Christian is a masterful storyteller who takes the listener beyond the music. It's very well researched but the presentation is never dry. Highly recommend it

Topics and discussion are interesting. Would love it if political opinions were avoided (just stick to music), but it doesn’t deter me from listening to them. Give it a listen.

The initial episodes with just Christian were amazing. All the episodes following different tv shows and books are not what got us all hooked.

This has become my go to podcast to recommend to everyone. Great production quality, sounds like an audiobook. Very well written, host has a pleasing tenor to his voice. I listened to the first three episodes, then went back and listened to them again.

Everyone associated with this Project is top notch!! I've loved every episode with all the incarnations of the project. If you think you know it all about Rock & Roll and the connection with media, well, listen to this entire project and I guarantee you will learn a lot!! It's presented in an always interesting manor and you won't be disappointed. I consider myself pretty adept at Rock & Roll history and media, but I'm learning a ton, connecting some missing dots and loving this stuff!! Keep it Rockin Christian, Peter and Erin!! Great job!!

Lot's of great info. The RNRAP podcast is a favorite, but all of the shows have something to offer.

I can't believe this is the only podcast on such an interesting topic: the history of rock & roll.

The show hooked me from the very beginning! I have loved every EPISODE. But, now it’s all 4 or 5 different talk shows posting instead of the original history episodes that hooked me. Please get back to the show and stop the talk madness!! The world is full of talk we need ROCK N ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!

I sincerely dislike the Roadies and Vinyl television recap episodes. I did not subscribe to a rock ’n roll history podcast to get roped into a TV recap show. I have no interest in watching the shows, so why would l was to listen to a whole episode about these programs? Also, after Vinyl was cancelled, there was mention in the first part of the Roadies podcast that they weren’t surprised about the cancellation! Why spend time recapping and listening to a recap of a crappy television show? I enjoy the Rock ’n Roll Librarian show the most because it is a natural conversation. The regular shows are very well produced but they are really overly dramatic and lack the free-form natural feel of most of the rock music that put on such a high pedestal. That would be my other critique. The rockers are humans with flaws… they aren’t Greek Gods as they are portrayed. Christian Swayne’s knowledge is incredible, but overall … let’s just take it down a notch.

A good lock on classic rock! I'm willing to listen to just about anything about the Beatles! Rock and roll will never go out of style!

A wonderful podcast with a unique idea- talking about Rock's influence on our culture.

As a young(ish) musician, I have made the “quest" for understanding and cataloging the history of Rock N Roll the primary mission of my intellectual life. Seriously, Rock music is the only place that I can call “home”…my oldest, closest friend and most important (unless my wife reads this, then SECOND most important) relationship. I have been waiting for this show for years now! Such a wonderfully produced, well-researched piece of Rock Musicology, the narrative laid out provides a very gentle, easy walk through the history of ENTIRE Rock genre, from the Mississippi Delta onward. I’ll just punctuate this by saying that ALL of the pieces of this Project have captivated my attention and imagination entirely…and I’m the "poster child” for A.D.D. (read: drummer). You better believe I’ll be coming back for more! They got me - hook, line, and sinker! Keep it coming, folks!

Listen folks - if you are even a middling rock music fan, you will find this podcast (i) very interesting and (ii) very well researched and presented. Christian is a great host and brings to life the reality behind the bands and songs that we all know by heart. CHECK IT OUT!

But I like it. The most interesting cast out there. I check daily for new episodes, just in case they come early. Episode 8 was released yesterday and I've listened 3 times. The 4th will be with my daughter today, to help her appreciate the wild enthusiasm we felt for The Beatles.

I found this podcast about 4 episodes in. I binged what was there and now am tortured as I must now wait for each new monthly episode. The stories are great. It discusses the music and the times. I also recommend the playlists in Spotify.

I especially appreciate how the song clips that are peppered throughout are of an adequate length to really get a good feel (and a good groove!)

This is the podcast to listen to if you live rock music! It's engaging and food for the mind and soul!!

I just got turned on to this podcast recently. I'd like to think I'm pretty aware of music history, and this podcast has done a great job of expanding my awareness. The things I already knew are still presented in a compelling way. Be sure to check out the Dylan/Cash episode; it's the highlight of what has been a strong series thus far.

I am really yearning for more. As a lover of the Rock N Roll music ,this podcast has really increased my love for this music.

Episodes 1 - 5 under my belt so far. First... thanks for bringing us this series! I'm really apprciating the depth of insight into rock and roll history. Though much of the information specific to the many artists featured in this series is relatively well known to any of us who have been paying attention over the last 40+ years (in my case) what I find most interesting is the broader context. Placing the artists and the business itself into the context of the nations cultural and political history of their time is a master stoke that sets this series apart from the typical rock history piece. Keep it coming!

I feel like I am re-discovering rock n roll with this show. Amazing!
