Real Boring
They sound so bored. Like they all need a nap. I listened to the Mythic Quest episode from two years ago and a little of the most recent episode to see if they perk up at all, but no. At one point Jordan actually yawns. Their review was long and yet, still very surface. “I liked it” “I like that actor””I liked that episode”. They don’t seem very qualified as critics.

I believe!
In this podcast, three (sometimes four?) hosts chat about a season of a popular show or film - a casual conversation like (as one reviewer said) a dinner party. The individual personalities mix well and offer dynamic, insightful takes that bring the listener deeper into the seasons of shows we’ve enjoyed (and want to keep alive!). What needs work is when hosts haven’t watched the full seasons of the shows. I think you have a dynamite formula when you choose shows you all watched in their entirety. In no world do I want to hear about a show from someone who didn’t watch it. Perhaps just leave shows until you’ve all seen them or better yet wait until you all are equally enthusiastic about a particular one. For example, the show about Love is Blind, S3 was great - I loved your hot takes. Unfortunately, combining that show w The Vow S2 was a miss because no one had seen all of it! I do think it would interesting to hear why someone didn’t finish the show - but IMHO your pod triumphs and reaches an awesome dynamism when everyone has seen it.

Like a dinner party
Many of the reviewed shows/movies aren’t ones that I watch or would watch and that’s the beauty of Original Content: look at the list and listen to the pods that interest you. I listen after I’ve watched what they are discussing — it’s entertaining. I love when they validate my thoughts about stuff like bad sets, bad hair, etc. For me, it’s Ozark and all rom coms no matter how bad. Some HBO stuff too.

Favorite sci-fi series so I had my fears. Great and balanced review. Been decades since I read the stories so I was a little fuzzy on some details. Helpful to have your clarifications. Why am I kind of rooting for the Cloned Empires? Didn’t expect that. Down with Ted Lasso.

How about actually watching the show?
I just listened to your discussion about Ted Lasso and there were so many things I took issue with, but I kept coming back to the fact that only two of the three of you had watched the whole series. One guy only watched two episodes! Why should you even bother talking about it, or I bother listening to your opinion?

Entertaining insight on original TV and Movies
I’m a huge fan of original content television and movies, so I love this podcast. The hosts are insightful, clever, and humorous. The podcast is funny, insightful, and entertaining. I listen every week. If you enjoy entertainment news and content and like to dive deep into the structure, plot, and analysis as well as hearing the smart perspective of others with witty banter, this show is for you.

Are these people high?
I hope so. Otherwise they might be mentally challenged. Either way, unlistenable.

25 minutes and no talk about the subject itself? This podcast really knows how to waste a listeners time.

ignorant
let me look for reasons to criticize you like you do for others. maybe you should stick to discussing what you know, whatever that is.

Really fun!
I just discovered this, and I’m tearing through all of the back episodes. I like the freewheeling, off-the-cuff nature of the conversations. Some reviews mention that the hosts seem unprepared, but I don’t think that’s the issue - I just think a relaxed review format isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But I’m really enjoying discovering the shows with this group and hearing their opinions. All of their voices are very pleasant to my ears, which is always a plus. And they are positive and upbeat, even when they don’t particularly like something.

Tiger king.
This is my first listen and the hosts misgendering of some of the people in the docs bothered me so it’s a no for me.

Ozark season 3
Absolute rubbish. The hosts are pathetic and manage to make what could be an excellent subject for a podcast totally boring and trite

Just found you! Love you all!!!!
I love that you don’t need an E next to your episode description. Sick of other podcasters being lazy with their vocal. You three are wonderful!!!!! Intelligent! Thoughtful! Balanced. Love you!!! I’m a fan!!!!!

Amateur Hour
I’m a huge fan of TechCrunch so when I saw this show mentioned on the site I was eager to listen. Unfortunately I was hugely disappointed. The hosts sounded unprepared and the banter was sluggish. Overall just painful to listen to.

As others stated, I wanted to like it..
Overall the flow and format feels amateur, it wanders and stalls in a way that loses my interest. This isn't a deal breaker for me though - I listen to and enjoy a range of podcasts with varying levels of polish. The thing that I can't get over, is the fact that you have people on who A) admittedly know nothing about or B) don't care about (and sometimes seem to resent) the content that you are covering. Not knowing about the content could be ok - as long as they're genuinely showing interest and asking thoughtful questions, so the other in-the-know host can explain and engage in an interesting conversation. Instead what we get is smug 'i just dont get it, why does anyone like this crap' hot takes that are hard to listen to. It's possible im being too harsh on y'all, but as a fan of several things that I've heard belittled on this podcast, it's tough to understand who exactly this podcast is for, what you're trying to accomplish with it, and why I would want to listen to another episode. 2 stars instead of 1 because I always tip at a restaraunt even when the service is terrible.

Enjoying Your Very Original Content
You are reviewing shows I am interested in and you all are so relatable (I'm not going to look under my bed). Keep up the great work! I listen at work and it's hard not to laugh out loud- and I mean in a good way!! Thank you!

Meh.
Audio comes in and out. I’m okay with tangents if they’re fun and intriguing - these were not. No immediate hook for me to continue their pop culture dissection.
Diamonds Are My Best Friends
Unfocused
I tried with this podcast since I’m a pop culture junkie but it’s just too unfocused and unprofessional. They often say false information on air or forget crucial plot points. It seems like very little preparation goes into it. I often dislike Jordan’s review style which is very “I don’t like it so I don’t have to talk about.” Not much objective criticism going on here at all. And how can you not finish a show before you review it??? Often some of the hosts only watched one episode and others have finished the show, and it’s impossible to even be on the same plain to have a conversation about it.

Bad Volume
I did enjoy the content. Male hosts were positive and upbeat, but the female tends to be negative about every show reviewed. Volume is off on every episode. Some hosts aren’t close to the mic, some are basically screaming. Makes the levels really jarring if you are listening to it with headphones or in your car.

Really bad
This was really boring. One of the hosts wasn’t even close to the mic. This show sounded like they were doing something else while taking about a show, like when you engage in small talk about a TV show. One of the hosts didn’t even watch the show. They weren’t sure whether to give spoilers or not (they did). And spent like the whole show focused in random things trying to understand the plot. So if they that are supposed to be the experts are clueless about the show, why bother making a podcast. This episode quickly helped me decide to unsubscribe as there is no way it would get any better.

Wanted it to be good...
Couldn’t get through one episode (Fyre). Presenters rambled constantly going on obscure tangents. Poorly structured and not worth an hour IMHO, many other better curated and produced podcasts. Felt like nothing of substance.

Anthony Ha tries to hard.
He’s just not that funny, but forces bad humor in your face.

Episode’s language needs work
No matter how good your content is, it will be brought down by how it’s presented. I liked the ideas being presented but was very distracted by how much they say ‘like.’ This should could really excel if they worked on how they’re communicating to the audience.

Really wanted to love this
I really wanted this to be good because they cover a lot of the original shows that the streaming services have created, but it’s mediocre. Half the time they talk about a TV series, they haven’t even finished it, which I find annoying considering shows like insatiable and haunting of hill house get so wild toward the end. Also one of the hosts doesn’t provide any valuable analysis. She has a hard time elaborating on her thoughts and it seems like her and the other hosts have a strange, clashing chemistry. Wouldn’t recommend.

Like On Repeat
Great thoughts but two of you say “like” so much I couldn’t take it. Work on your podcast speaking skills and you may have something, though. Keep it up and luck!

Great streaming podcast!
I’m really into streaming news and original content so this show is something I really enjoy! I used to really like this show but Daryl one of the original co hosts is gone and I haven’t been really enjoying the guests they’ve been bringing on as much. I’ll continue to listen but I’m not enjoying it like I have in the past.

Love it!
You guys kill it. All the topics are interesting and well discussed. All your voices are very calming.

Regular listener
I would agree with the other reviewer about background noise- I (maybe incorrectly) attribute it to Darryl’s recording, and the sounds of sirens and his audible breathing (during the other hosts talking) take me out from it. Otherwise, thoughtful analysis and review of new content that I really enjoy and would recommend to all. Anthonys comments are my favorite, and he always has something intelligent and deep to contribute. The addition of a third, younger (hipper?) voice (Jordan) was a strong move. Darryls often quirky picks and peeves are funny and he often plays the part of the listener who also hasn’t seen the content being discussed. Longer episodes than other podcasts in its genre maybe because of its slightly less structured format (ie pop culture happy hour), but I’d make time for it if you haven’t tried already.

Medicore at best
While I love the topic and general concept of the show, the execution needs major improvements. Particularly the one host, (the guy from Canada) seems to forget information regarding news while on the air constantly. He also seems rather inexperienced in this topic, and doesn't come across as that knowledgable. Overall, I recommend you skip this podcast.

I'm picky
For me, the entirety of a podcast, no matter how good the content is, can come crumbling down due to the slightest thing. For some reason, I'm sensitive to certain sounds that are generally considered innocuous. Chewing or taking with a full mouth are intolerable to me, but I think people would back me up on those. This podcast has one host who claims to have been podcasting since day 1. In all that time, I'm sure someone has called out his cracking voice. It's subtle, but with no discernable pattern. It's noticeable, and grating over the course of an hour. It's such an annoying sound that I'm sure my blood pressure spiked. The content itself was great. I listened to the episode about horror movie recommendations, which is generally a surefire way to gain me as a fan, but even my favorite subject matter couldn't get me passed that cracking voice. So, in the end, all I can say is: keep it up, dudes. Great conversation with intelligent back-and-forth, but I simply can't listen to this podcast without losing my mind.
