Great podcast, bad sound
I really enjoy this podcast which goes into the most granular, deep dive of one of the greatest movies ever made, but my God the sound is awful and inconsistent from episode to episode. Some episodes the sound is so low I have to really crank the volume and then when a commercial comes on my ears are blasted into oblivion. I’m up to episode 46 and hoping they get the sound issues worked out in episodes to come. But, that all aside, it’s a really fun show with a very likeable host and guests, some of them quite big.

Questions
Why is there music randomly played in the background as you’re talking? Can we level the ads inserted so they’re not louder than your voices? It’s also dropped in at random places. Also, the sound clips from Tokyo Vice should make sense to those of us listening. You played a clip where no one was talking for 10 to 15 seconds. I thought the podcast stopped. What I do enjoy about your podcast is your analysis of the show, Tokyo Vice. You notice things that I missed and are valuable to the story. Also enjoy how you two play off of each other. It feels like a mutual respect and thoughtfulness into what you’re sharing.

Ads too loud
Ads are mixed like 10x louder than the show and inserted randomly sometimes in the middle of sentences. Sloppiest spon I’ve ever heard. Hurts my ears

All of the podcasts minutes are inherently essential
Far more than a minute by minute breakdown of films. These shows are investigations into what makes them essential and timeless. Blake does such an amazing job and I’ll admit Increment Vice is my guiltiest pleasure podcast. The moment that lighter flicks, it’s on. The moment those typewriter fingers slap, it’s on.

Great film stuff
Blake’s a good dude and an ambassador of good film vibes on twitter. His shows are meticulous and deep, the perfect companion to the films he discusses. The episodes transcend film talk and become about something deeper. Recommended.

I brake for Blake’s takes.
I got hooked on One Heat Minute from the other side of the world and was quickly taken in by Blake Howard’s contagious enthusiasm for cinema. The shows’ guests are a diverse range of friends, critics, experts, insiders and some who all of the above. Blake’s knowledge of film is rivaled only by his passion. Most projects focus on a particular film, but any fan of the medium will love it.

Must listen for Michael Mann fans
Heat is arguably my favorite film & inspired me to move from a small town in Illinois to LA to work in film. I even lived in an apartment one block from where the opening heist took place in downtown LA. Each podcast is insightful, humorous & makes me laugh. Congrats Blake on a job well done!

Good content; early sound mixing is bad
I love hearing the host talk about this awesome movie, but the uneven sound mixing (at least on the first 10 eps) make it all but impossible to hear. When I turn up the volume to hear a speaker, the other speaker will suddenly laugh and it is DEAFENING. Hope this improves, because I love it otherwise.

Fun and original format for a podcast
Like these guys, Heat is my hands-down all time favorite. And the kicker is I worked on this beast in 1995. Simply liking a movie you slogged through production on is unlikely, but having it be one’s favorite is unheard of. But there it is. Really fun way to break it down, a minute at a time...

Amazing, fun, wonderful
This podcast is stunning in its depth, insight, and humor. The format, while ambitious, works incredibly well. I had seen Heat a few times and loved it, but I'm realizing with every episode that there's so much I had missed! I'm sure I'll be watching it again at least a few times as I work my way through the catalogue of episodes.

Love It!
When I heard about the concept for One Heat Minute (looking at the Michael Mann film Heat, one minute of screen time per episode), it seemed like maybe too much of a good thing. I was completely wrong. I've been jumping around and catching up on a lot of episodes with amazing guests like Manohla Dargis, Jordan Harper, and other film experts. Michael Mann is my favorite director, and the conversations never get too high-minded about his best film. It's entertaining yet also smart, and that's a great combination. I can't wait to check out more episodes!

Delightful!
This is a Great podcast. Heat has to be one of the very few films that can support a minute by minute examination that also becomes simultaneously more entertaining and engrossing as it continues. Fans of Heat- subscribe : )

A crazy concept that works
Blake and a variety of awesome guests (from NYT critics, to filmmakers, Australian film buffs, and more) break down Michael Mann's HEAT one minute at a time. I never would have guessed that there was something to talk about in every single minute of a film, but it turns out if you're observant, knowledgable, passionate, and obsessive enough, there is plenty. Highly recommend giving this crazy concept a listen.

Ambitious, Crazy, Entertaining
A mad Australian has taken his love for "Heat" to the next level with this episodic podcast complete with special guests and critics helping him take apart and explore individual scenes and themes. It's one of those crazy ideas that shouldn't work, what's surprising is that it not only does but does so with gusto. Endlessly entertaining, often amusing and frequently insightful - it's an insane project that will likely be years in the making, but nonetheless is an incredible and compelling work that's a real treat for cinephiles, Mann fans and "Heat" devotees.

For true film lovers
If like me you obsess about those tiny unintended details in a film, make sure you join Blake for a deep dive into HEAT. Thanks to this podcast I've rewatched the film about 10 times and get something new upon every watch. Blake's passion is contagious, it'll give you hope that it's okay to truly love a piece of art. Don't sleep on this one people

Astonishingly compelling
I listened to the first episode out of morbid curiosity, but now that I’m five episodes in I’m hooked. This podcast is not only a thoughtful analysis of a major work of art, but also a treatise on obsession. Why would you watch the same movie more than a hundred times? You’ll find more reasons than you could have ever possibly guessed...
