Hey I’m recently diagnosed bipolar at 16 and I’ve really been struggling with someone to relate to but listening to this podcast really help thank you guys so much😁

Michelle!
Gabe and Michelle are incredible together and legitimately provided a unique podcast voice. The confidence, the honesty, the back and forth, and the pushing and pulling at each other, it was powerful. The new show is too focused on trying to be clinical and teach people things - there are an infinite number of resources for that. In addition, Gabe has an amazing personality - this really was alive with Michelle and with Jackie, it’s really dulled. Anyways, the work you do is fantastic and amazing but the energy between Gabe and Michelle made for powerful and engaging podcasts. The podcast with Jackie is basically like anything else out there and I don’t find that she has much to add.

This podcast is everything!
Jackie and Gabe, thank you for talking about the issues close to our hearts for anyone living with mental illness and their support people. And frankly for people who want to know how to be a more empathetic person. I’m often driving to work while listening and all I can say is there are a lot of emphatic and involuntary “yassssssss”’s coming out of my mouth. 💃🏻

Jackie is in my brain. But she knows this. Love love this. A bit because it’s made me remember some things I may have forgotten. Loving this.

Open, Honest, Far Too Relatable
We need more content like this about mental health! Jackie and Gabe are open, honest, and relatable. I often find myself nodding along — and I’ve learned so much! A podcast fav.

What a ride - Great Pod!
The changeover from Michelle to Jackie was a wild ride and then a name change to boot! Wow! It's amazing they landed on their feet -- BUT. THEY. DID. The show is better than over, especially the Joker episode. I love they added pop culture to the mix and I love the show with the guest. MORE GUESTS. I'm hooked again. Thank you. Great Pod!

Incredibly offensive!
Gabe, I started listening to this podcast bc I enjoy your other shows. I started with episode four and within minutes could not believe my ears. This rant about social workers questioning a diagnosis or believing people with schizophrenia can be high functioning is absolutely not the position of social workers in general. I highly doubt if you actually looked to see if the people making such offensive comments were licensed social workers with their state board. Social workers are the leading providers of mental health in this country. Some of our core values are empowerment and the right to self determination. The platform that you have given these statements that in no way represent an entire profession but rather a small group of ignorant people who may or may not even be social workers has taken me aback. I can not continue with this podcast and now question if I can listen going forward to your other shows. Social workers devote their careers and in many cases their personal lives to advocating for some of our most vulnerable and disadvantaged fellow human beings. This show is such a 180 from the positivity and insight of your other projects. I’m just disgusted and honestly hurt. Social workers absolutely believe in the endless capabilities of people who are challenged with mental illness as we do all people and the unique challenges we all have at points in our lives.

Like listening to old friends
I love listening to these two ! So funny and incredibly candid about their struggles . I’ve learned a lot and they have helped make mental health a topic a that’s a lot less scary!

I want this to be so much more than it is
I’m an individual living with bipolar disorder and the thing is you guys pick good topics but you just breeze by the surface, you don’t get into useful information that people suffering from mental illness can readily utilize. Not to mention Gabe and new host have been almost exclusively recycling topics from the past and not much new “insight” has been cast upon the audience in some time. I don’t mean to be critical with intentions of being cruel- your podcast is important. But your distancing yourself from your audience. And depression is also a subset of my disorder, not the whole enchilada, so selfishly I have to shy away from episodes gauged towards that way. Find a fresh angle and please provide me the insight I know you have somewhere deep inside your experience with mental health. Your stuck on repeat and need to wake up.

Great podcast
I have learned so much from this. I thought I knew a lot about mental illness and how to navigate it. Gabe is amazing, funny, and very honest.

No games at all
I love, love this podcast. Thank you! Thank you for your stories we can relate to. No games...no cards... no checkers... Just a huge head trip. Such a huge bummer to be hospitalized.

So helpful, touching, and relatable
As a person who has struggled with mental illness for my entire life, and who has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type 1 within the last year, this podcast has been one of the most helpful resources out there. Gabe and Jackie speak in-depth about some of the most relevant topics surrounding mental illness with wonderful insight, well-researched information, and—at times—much-needed humor. I cannot express how helpful and important it is to have a podcast like this one, a podcast in which well-educated real people with mental illness—not just therapists, counselors, and psychiatrists—share their own experiences, feelings, and opinions, thereby making the rest of us who are struggling not feel quite so alone. Thank you ❤️

Bravo for this no-nonsense mental health show
As a person living with with bipolar it feels great to have a place to hear funny, insightful, and honest topics.

Hilarious and educational
Really helpful to hear from people who are living with the disorders i want to learn about, and the episodes are hilarious. I have learned a lot already and and am less afraid now of living with bipolar. Thanks for a great podcast!

Great source for a parent
My oldest daughter was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder depressive type and anxiety when she was 12. Two years later, her younger sister was diagnosed with cyclothymia (a milder form of bipolar) at age 11. We live in the rural south and we’re so lucky to find a psychiatrist to correctly diagnose and treat them both and a psychologist who would treat adolescents. Luckily, they both like their doctors a lot! Their treatments have went remarkably well, but I’ve struggled. I have a few friends and family who are as supportive as they can be, but they don’t have any real understanding . This podcast is really fabulous because it is another way to help me understand both of them!

Recently diagnosed
I am in my mid 30s and was just diagnosed with bipolar type 1. It’s been hard understanding what happened. It’s also been a blessing understanding myself! Thanks for hope as I’m trying to find my cocktail of meds!

Therapeutic to listen to
I am truly so grateful I ran into this podcast. I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder and it has been something that has been so hard for me to accept, although deep down inside I have always known I had it. I have been on a journey to try to understand my disorder and Ali to understand myself better in relation to my disorder and listening to this podcast has been so helpful in doing that! The two hosts talk about their illness in such a down to earth and humorous way. They talk about their disorders in a way that is so relatable and reflective. I love that I can listen to this podcast and laugh at it while also learning about my new diagnoses AND also learning about myself. This podcast has been so enlightening and therapeutic to me. It has also helped me a lot with my depression because of how honest they are about their own depression and struggle with mental illness but also how humorous and relatable they make it be. The times when I start getting depressed again I immediately tune into this podcast. Thank you to the creators!

Great resource
This show has helped me get through many obstacles with my bipolar disorder and thinking things through. I shared with my mom and it has helped her understand me and mental health so much better! Thank you!

Feeling the camaraderie
Michelle and Gabe are a great team. Living in a small ski town in Colorado, I have little resources of support for bipolar. This podcast has enlightened me to what others deal with and no matter our differences or similarities, we struggle and survive. Their choice of topics are very relevant. Maybe I haven’t gotten to it yet because I’m playing catch up, but I’d love to hear about mental illness and addiction. Thanks guys!

Terrible podcast
TERRIBLE podcast. The hosts have very little knowledge of mental health diagnosis. They laugh, make fun of mental health struggles and DO NOT take these matters seriously. One star is a stretch - zero stars would be more applicable. Also, the audio quality is horrendous. Not worth your time at all.

Apparently schizophrenic
These two seem to work well together. I thank you for revealing things that people didn't know already, it's really a blessing. Thanks

Amazingly Entertaining
I love Michelle and Gabe. They are so honest about their experiences and hilarious at the same time. They make me want to be more open about my bipolar and help people, too!! Thanks Gabe and Michelle for all you do :)

Springtime Hypomania
I have BD and just suffered the textbook spring hypomania with the inevitable downswing. This podcast helped me stay somewhat connected when I really wanted to isolate, it helped encourage me to break out of isolation and practice self care. Thumbs up!

Awesome
Fantastic podcast. I have bd. This makes me feel more normal.

I also have bipolar disorder
And I really enjoy listening to Gave and Michelle talk about mental health issues. I also enjoy their own personal stories (2 Truths and a Lie is pretty great).

I also have bipolar
And I love this podcast! You guys are the best.

I loved the episode on sleep.
I try to practice good sleep hygiene, but as I cycle through hypomanic/mixed-mania elements every month. Last night I was up to 3:00 am working... not because of finals but because I just couldn’t sit still. This is great!

My weekly dose of humor & hope
Listening to Gabe and Michelle’s new episode has become part of my Monday morning routine. Their discussions are amusing while being informative. The show gives me hope and shows me that I am not alone in my daily struggles with mental illness. I fully recommend this podcast to anyone interested in learning more about living well with mental illness as well as individuals who are looking for more information about mental illness. Thank you, Gabe & Michelle for sharing an honest look at what life with mental illness can be like!

Thank you!
Thank you both for being so transparent about the many struggles that come with having a mental illness. I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 in the fall of 2018. I am slowly coming to terms with who I am and no longer have tremendous guilt thanks to you two! Btw, Michelle kind of sounds like Mila Kunis. lol

About time...
It’s about time we have a podcast on mental illness BY those who truly get the struggles. Real talk from real people who REALLY have experience. Keep it up!!

Great hosts!!
I appreciate your approach to mental health. Thank you so much for opening up your lives with so much honesty! You are helping so many people reach out for help and help others by knowing what to watch for to help love ones!

Inspirational
I love the information that comes from the show and it feels like it’s done in satirical way, similar to news programs like Last Week Tonight with John Oliver or The Daily Show. This show gives you important information in an enjoyable manner and I hope they continue to educate and entertain. Thank you guys.
jay_mac82
Totally Relate
Gabe’s stories, sadly mirror my own. Debauchery, nonsense and gluttony while manic-somehow making it out alive. Somehow able to entertain listeners. Co-hosts are hilariously accurate with screwed up mess of mental illness. As a Fortune 500 highly regarded sales guy, I hope to never live without lack of stability of my past. Great to hear others have had same craziness.

LOVE IT!!
I listened to S1E13 as the first ever podcast from this and I loved it!!! I can relate so much as a bipolar person and one thing I hate that people say is when a non bipolar person gets mad and and stuff and people are like OMG IM SO BIPOLAR. I’m just like really 🙄 so I can soooo relate!!! Best podcast ever!!
