Just was introduced to this podcast. First episode I listened to is the first interview with Sean Kanan. Highly engaging. Darek does a great job asking the questions that we all have. Looking forward to listening to more! Well done!

Funny to see 4, 1 star reviews? Really? lol. Clearly some resentful people. I love this podcast. Awesome variety. Awesome selection, fantastic host. One of my go to podcasts. Keep up the great work Darek.

Sharing a passion with the world
Darek’s passion for film and the cinematic experience shine through in every episode of his podcast. He doesn’t produce his show in order to garner recognition or “likes” on social media. His podcast comes from the purest of places: His love for movies and how they impact people. Darek works tirelessly to connect with great guests and the professional yet friendly nature of the podcast makes it an easy listen and a no brainer addition to any movie lover’s podcast library. Whether you are tuning in on your commute to work, or need something to supplement your appetite for all things cinema, Monday Morning Critic will keep you entertained and informed on many of your favorite movies, actors, actresses, and more in the film industry. The Genuine Article.
Not just another cookie cutter podcast. Not a follow for follow podcast not a podcast that buys listeners and guests. A podcast that does things the right way. Every episode has an intriguing guest, led by a host that clearly puts his time into each and every interview. He is well spoken, asking unique and innovative questions...While other podcasts are pretending to be people theyre not in places they dont have here is a podcast what you see is what you get. The host does not mumble or sound like English is new to him. Just a matter of time before others take notice of what a truly great listen this is. Im not sure what the jealous losers who gave this 2 stars were thinking but I bet its other podcasts who are unlistenable trying to make a superior podcast look bad. Time will show them to be frauds. Guaranteed. This is the best podcast I subscribe to. Love Monday Morning Critic Podcast!

Hidden Gem. Glad I found it.
I am always looking for new podcasts on my long commute to work (75 minutes). I stumbled upon Monday Morning Critic Podcast browsing through apple podcasts. I have to say I was taken back. We hear about all the notoriously famous podcasts, but it's podcasts like this, the "Hidden Gems" that are the backbone of podcasting. I heard the host, Derek Thomas talking about his guest quality and he wasn't lying. His knowledge and love for movies and TV is very clear. Most importantly his rapport with his guests is fantastic. Like hanging out with two friends over a few beers. So many people today have podcasts, and most are almost impossible to get through one epsiode. Just flat out bad. However, Monday Morning Critic has found a new listener. My favorite thing about this podcast is that you never know who is next for a guest, but you know the guest is going to be great, well known and outside the box and always a pleasant surprise. The host works very hard developing a quality product. His style, his exchange with guests is very natural and smooth. Big things ahead for this podcast.

A 5 Star Podcast.
In the Film and TV interview catagory there are one or two podcasts (maybe a few more) that stand out. Monday Morning Critic is certainly one. The orginality of the guests, the carefully crafted questions, a host who clealry is vested and loves the people he is conversing with he carefully picks guests that are relavant and more importantly he loves. And you can see the guests response and how they feel. Genuinely happy to be there and being interviewed by DT. There are times I cannot believe he landed some of the top guests that he gets. Impressive. I hear Darek Thomast reference other podcasts that buy listeners, buy downloads, buy guests and when you look in the TV and FIlm Interview catagory it is pretty obvious who they are. I mean when I listen to another podcast in the TV and Film Interview catagory that has 350 Five star reviews clearly done by the host himself, 5 Stars for a host that stumbles his way through questions that seemed like they were googled 2 minutes before the interview and invents words and uses others out of context, what an absoulte farce. 5 stars. Laughable. Embarassing. Monday Morning Critic is not the perfect podcast, but when you take into account the host, his passion and the complete product, how it is getting better by the episode it really is a great podcast that seperates itself from the others. DT has meaningful guests, that are relavant in 2020 and nostaligic guests that were a big part of my childhood. Makes the ride to work seem that much shorter. I would not reccomend a podcast that I did not think was worth it. Monday Morning Critic Podcast is worth your time.

One of my favorites!

Excellent and insightful interviews!
I've listened to 3 or 4 of Monday MorningCritic's interviews and I must say, they are pretty refreshing. It's great to listen to an interviewer that does his homework before talking to the guest, and not just lob a bunch of softball questions that have been asked 1000 times, as Jim Florentine mentioned in his interview (episode 75). I like the wide range of guests from sports stars, to authors, to comedians, actors and actresses, and everything in between. For instance, I never thought I'd care about hearing an interview with a Hollywood casting director (Jackie Burch episode 46), but when I saw the list of movies she casted, and saw that 90% of them were some of my all-time favorites growing up, I had to give it a listen. It was great hearing about my favorite flicks from a totally different angle, someone other than the actors or director. Another highlight was the David Newell interview (April 11, 2018)! Who didn't love Mr McFeely growing up? Very insightful dive into the world of Mr. Rogers and how incredible of a human being he really was. Being a big NHL fan it was great listening to Zdeno Chara talk about his life, and playing hockey at such a high level into his 40s. Overall, very refreshing, passionate, interviews that do more than just scratch the surface. He digs down deep and you get to know the person for more than what they are known for, whether its acting, pro athlete, stand-up comedian, etc. I highly recommend subscribing!

The Monday Morning Critic is a great listen that brings the minds of these entertainment folk into our heads making them seem the human and down to earth people they really are. MMC sprinkles in some honest criticism and emotional break down of current tv and movies to provide a captivating hour of must listen every week.

Intriguing and Funny
Listened to a couple of podcasts during a roadtrip with my gf. We both found ourselves laughing and spitballing ideas for season 8 of the walking dead. We have yet to watch it yet until we can binge so it was enjoyable to get a few different perspectives of it. We also now keep quoting the "Negan Lean/Swagger". I usually avoid podcasts all together but I enjoyed listening to a fellow fan talk about shows and his ideas on them.

Good work
5 stars for passion. A few things to consider would be to ask questions succinctly rather than over explaining or putting words in the persons mouth or asking a "leading" question. I listened to the Daniel Wallace interview and the questions could have been more direct and to the point. Watch your hyperbole. Saying something is the best or greatest can be flattering, but when said too much it comes across as obsequious and insincere.

Listen once and you are hooked!!!
I thoroughly enjoy this podcast. The host's passion for and love of film and television shows through in every episode. The interview of Hoosiers' screenwriter and producer Angelo Pizzo is insightful and not to be missed. I especially love the inclusion of movie scores, particularly that of Shawshank Redemption, the best movie ever made.

Very few are as knowledgable, passionate, and informative about movies and entertainment as the Monday Morning Critic.I listen to numerous podcasts and none display the knowledge of movies and their cultural impact and relevance as this one. I've listened to every episode thus far, and each week the show gets incrementally better. I'm looking forward to seeing this podcast grow and get better.
