Uh…
They keep saying “protect and serve” about police, but they never finish the sentence. It’s “protect and serve the law” This explains the level of fact finding or misleading, erroneous statements throughout every episode.

Lead with the evidence
Normally I really like this podcast however the episode with the missing man from Jamaica really sounded like an accident until they got to the part about the lethal level of Benadryl in his system, which was at the end of the episode. Lead with the suspicious evidence more often, and less speculation would really help this podcast shine.

I loved Missing but this was over the line.
I’ve always loved this podcast and have greatly appreciated and respected Tim Pilleri and Lance Reenstierna for their work on cases of those who have gone missing. That was, until a few days ago, when I’d finished listening to the more recent episodes so I decided to go back through the older ones. That’s how I landed on Episode #411 from August 24, 2023, Kay-Alana Turner. As I’m in Texas where this happened, I was already a bit familiar with the case and wanted to hear Tim and Lance’s take on it. Instead, what I got was a non-stop tirade that was both anti-law enforcement and anti-psychiatry between them and their “guest” Christy Arnhart who apparently considers herself an expert on everything, not only about Kay-Alana but apparently on overall policing, sheriffs departments, law enforcement training, policy and tactics, prescribing of psychiatric medications, psychiatry and diagnosing of various mental conditions, and so much more. What I couldn’t find were any qualifications that might lead her (or the regular hosts) to have any reason, basis or experience to expound on any of it let alone bash and criticize those who do. This episode was a mess with all three of them going on and on and on, dissecting, disrespecting and criticizing every single step of the Tomball Sheriffs Department, Kay-Alana’s actual psychiatrist (seriously?!?) and what they all SHOULD have done or how they could have done better. At several points, I considered stopping however I kept thinking they’d get past it. But, no. That was not to be the case. Since none of them have the kinds of jobs that require them to put their lives on the line and making split-second life or death decisions for themselves and others every single day, nor are they versed in the many facets of psychology and psychiatry, I’d say they owe everyone an apology. More than one. TBH, if I were that psychiatrist they accused of misdiagnosing Kay-Alana and prescribing the wrong medications/dosages, I’d sue them off of the face of the Earth for slander and defamation of character. For starters. They should all be ashamed as they’ve lost any credibility and respect I ever had for them and this podcast. Not that losing me as a listener will really affect anyone but I have a feeling I’m not the only one who feels this way after listening to that beatdown of an episode. I hope the grandstanding and holier than thou b.s. in this episode was worth it for them. Unsubscribing now. There are way too many other wonderful podcasts and hosts out there who can leave their politics, personal feelings, mindless babbling, gossip, thoughts and armchair quarterbacking of others at the door when they cover cases and stories. I’m a little sad that Missing has now shown they just aren’t able or want to do that. No one wants to hear your arrogant, non-expert “expertise.”

Thank you so much for this episode! I have been listening for awhile and am touched, always want to help. This episode touched me and I cried, felt genuine concern and empathy, (not that I don’t in most). When they sang at the end I just lost it bawling , and I don’t even know what they were singing! Strong powerful, good job bringing awareness!

This is a no for me.
More than 20 minutes into the episode and still waiting to hear the story.
Stop it. I don’t want a name
huge disconnect with these hosts
they dont actually cover the timeline on these cases. they could care less. they arent here for that. they are here to go off on tangents about a million other things with a million other people rather than tell us the TIMELINE of the missing person!!!....and this should be the FOCAL point of the ENTIRE episode!!! they leave us completely clueless about the case itself. many other reviews on here say the exact same thing. tipping point for me were the phoenix coldon episodes. her mother would have given an AMAZING detailed step by step outline leading up to her disappearance IF given the chance. but the hosts wanted to instead talk ENDLESSLY with the hired PIs on the case about their backgrounds! i was just done at that point.

I’m a listener from day one!
Tim sounds like a Lance. And Lance begins his thought halfway through his sentence. The most enjoyment I get is hearing lance fumble his thought, pick it back up before the ref calls it. Just in time to watch him drop it again. Lance you are too original to patent .

Get to the story
Couldn’t finish an episode. I’m sure the actual story was interesting, but listening to these guys playing armchair quarterback was painful. Saying a psychiatrist was not doing their job with no real evidence is ridiculous.

Too Many Personal Opions
I’m not a doctor, I’ve not had any training as a police officer. Tell the story do t need so much of your personal comments. We don’t care how you use your inhaler !! Too much could not listen any longer!! Excruciatingly painful to listen to. Im sure the story was a good one but just couldn’t do it any longer !!

Not making the cut…
Not the worst but far from the best. Way too much uninteresting jibber jabber and a jokesy tone that does not match or respect the seriousness of the cases. Mostly uninterested in 90% of what the hosts are saying. Check out Anatomy of Murder for a 5 star true crime podcast.

Uhhhh
Had to unfollow. I don’t even know what this about anymore. The Maura story was interesting but I just realized that was a long time ago on a podcast far away from here. Boring and unreliable drivel now. Thanks for the memories.

Terrible
How is the intro taking a missing person serious “how are you doing…..blah blah blah”. Horrible.

Can’t find full story
Why are the episodes out of order? Impossible to find one story in its entirety.

Conservative Minds
These fools tow the conservative party line and bring zero insight into the Madeline McAnn and Jon Bonet Ramsey missing persons cases. The parents did it you morons!! Go hunt for Maura Murray in Canada while you’re at it. She died of hypothermia, evading the police, to prevent another DUI. Animals got to her. And left no remains. Case closed in one comment; you tools built a career off of it. True Crime profiteers. Here today; gone tomorrow.

Interviews
You guys never disappoint when it comes to having guests on your episodes. I thoroughly enjoyed this week’s show. I wish my mom had someone like her to help her escape her abuser. Thankfully I still have my mom.

It’s a NO from me.
Really tried to like this one. Most cases the hosts act like they know everything, their arrogance is really off putting. Especially when they often leave out details or get them wrong. Their speculations are so close minded, they come off as simpletons.

Not a great presentation
Most of us couldn’t pull off doing a fairly unscripted program. Neither can these hosts. Lots of repetition, digression and belaboring small details.
kerund
Too much chatter
Inane. Goofy banter & yuk-yuk, like schoolboys, when setting the tone for grisly crimes. Very unprofessional & mindless. Don’t waste your time.

A must listen
Really great podcast that is making a difference!

content I feel good supporting
It’s been amazing to see the advocacy work Tim & Lance do for victims and their families. They are always donating and working with different causes and spreading awareness and giving family members a platform to speak on their show. They are skilled interviewers and always have interesting guests on both Missing and Crawlspace ranging from victims family members to experts in various fields in the true crime space. Their hearts are in the right place and I believe they truly contribute so much good to the largely toxic true crime community. Thank you both for all that you do and for being a safe space for victims and their families.

In my top 3!
The show is well researched & the important details are always included. I was hooked after Maura Murray, & have happily continued on. Tim & Lance are always respectful of victims & their families, which I really appreciate. One of the best true crime podcasts out there!

Great conversational hosts
I enjoy this podcast. I appreciate the mellow tone and good humor in all of their conversations. Thanks, Lance, Tim, and Jennifer!

Love this so much
I am surprised at the negative feedback here. Love this podcast because they just tell a story, they don’t give their options per say and they don’t swear like a sailor. I enjoy them very much!

I can’t get enough!
You come for one thing and you get everything from this podcast! Thank you is the least I can say!

Super Tired Sounding
This podcast is terrible. These clowns ramble on with about 36% enthusiasm. If you run out of sleeping pills this podcast might help? It was actually so boring it kept me awake with anger. So your self a favor. Listen to something, anything else. Puke.

Just no
You all sound bored. Too much chatter. Bye bye.

I like these guys
I’ve reached Episode 60 and I’m not sure why the ratings are so low. Maybe I'm missing something - no pun intended. I’m a true crime follower - listened and watched endless episodes for many years so I’m not totally new to the genre or delivery. I like the conversational format and the sharing of info between Tim and Lance - Chloe too when she participates - with their guests. I appreciate the lack of “dramatic” presentation/effect that many other podcasts too often use. Maybe it’s not super slick, shiny or polished but they sound real, authentic and truly interested in their desire for answers and to spread the stories about the victims, their families and friends. Heartbreaking for all so I think we all hope that somehow someway these retellings and investigations help shed light on these dreadful mysteries.

Sadly Unsubscribing
After a couple of years as a subscriber and regular listener I am unsubscribing. Aimless meandering into ridiculous observations trying to make worthlessly obvious points grew too much for me to take. I enjoyed it for a while though and wish them the best.

I want to love this.
I’ve just finished the second episode, and the audio is just beyond painful. I think it has potential to be a good podcast but what’s the point if you get all the drop offs and noise.

Lots of yapping
Ruins the stories. Too much dialogue during the telling. Nothing of much interest here
classysouthernwoman
Excited but disappointed
The Murray case was interesting and captiviting....the first 10 parts. But once you hit pat 17 you realize that its just a lot of rehashing the same info that was discussed in the first few episodes. There is 105 parts to this case. Completely unnecessary.
Pengy_0612
One of my favorites!
I started as a MMM listener when I first got into her case and immediately became fans of Lance and Tim. The work they do is phenomenal in raising awareness to lesser known cases.

Slow mo bored
Hate to hate but just too slow. Lost interest after so much discussion about irrelevant topics, set the hook and then give us some back story. Saw a lot of reviews suggesting similar things so maybe they don’t care or don’t read. It’s your podcast so do as you wish but were it mine I would pay attention to your listeners. I will pop back on a few months to see if I have a different opinion or improvements are made. I’m a bit of a podcast snob having been spoiled by Sword and Scale perhaps. Give it a listen!

I tried, but just couldn’t
I wanted to like this podcast but I just couldn’t get into it. I’m an avid true crime podcast listener and this one just isn’t for those who listen regularly. The editing isn’t great and it almost takes 6-7 minutes before they even start the episode. I think with some work, there could be potential. Hope to check this out in the future and see improvements!

Can we talk about language?
I have listened to a few episodes and generally find it to be super interesting. However, on the episodes I’ve listened to that involve victims involved with drugs or who suffered from Substance use disorders, I have found the language and some information presented to be stigmatizing and inaccurate about drug users and people who have addiction. As a professional in the field, I beg of the media to fact check and be mindful of how they tell stories about people with these illnesses.

What a wonderful interview and sad story regarding Blake. I feel for his Mom, she’s wonderful. Very much enjoyed the format and the telling of his tragic story. I so hope his case will be solved.

Needs better editing
The hosts are very good, and they tell the story well. But the editing! Four times in the Josh Stratton episode it just cut someone off in the middle of a sentence. Someone will be giving information, then there's a sound like a record scratch, and immediately someone else is talking in mid-sentence. I finally had to turn the episode off. I've also noticed in multiple episodes that the episode will suddenly go back and replay the last 30 seconds. I probably sound harsh, but the two male hosts have two podcasts with nearly 600 combined episodes, so it's reasonable to expect editing that doesn't make the show unlistenable.

leaving because of advertisements (Joe Rogan)
This is the first negative podcast review I’ve ever left. I will no longer be listening to this podcast as Joe Rogan was an advertiser on the most recent episode. I don’t even remember the name because Joe’s voice was heard so early on. Perhaps dramatic but I’m not sure how anyone is giving Rogan a pass any longer. I do think these folks do good work and I have enjoyed the show but I am unsubscribing and obviously leaving this negative review. This is such a big deal to me that I am rating this show 1/5 where I would have normally given it at least a 4. Joe Rogan is poison and you have let him enter this podcast. Bummer.

Hard to follow
You guys really need to lay down the established facts and background story, before delving intoOther areas. Even if it is a case you’ve never covered before, you give no background information, not even the very basics. What are the known facts, who was the person, what do we know. You just go off into tangent about stuff totally irrelevant in the story, and as a listener it leaves you totally lost. How can you do a missing persons podcast and not even tell the story of what happened?

White Men Speculation
Show is about two white men speculating about which behaviors are suspicious and which is not. Humans do stuff that don’t make sense to anyone much less to themselves yet these two arm chair detectives believe they are masterfully at human behavior they can decipher suspicious and non-suspicious behavior.

I want to like this
I want to like this podcast so much, but I cannot get into the female co-host. It’s not that her voice is annoying (but it is annoying) but she sounds so uninterested and bored. I think this would be so much better with just Tim & Lance. To add- I appreciate this podcast but I feel like there’s a lot of I don’t knows and oh I wonder. There should be more answers than questions when supposedly it’s been researched already. Kinda disappointing.

Need the hosts back
If missing persons are being researched by Private Investigations for the Missing, then why doesn’t Jennifer Amell have answers to questions. The organization should research further so results can be shared. Otherwise let the hosts do the overview.

Describing a missing person and white supremacy
When you do not describe a missing person as WHITE in the description, you enforce the belief that the DEFAULT is white, and therefore support white supremacy. You should describe peoples race or skin color because we should not assume everyone is white.
