Doc Molly’s podcast as well as her website provide the most useful types of medical Spanish lessons. After taking many different types of medical Spanish classes from college courses to study abroad immersion programs and other medical Spanish online courses, her content has been the most useful for a practicing clinician needing to review specific medical vocabulary and practice speaking in a clinical setting. It is worth the premium for access to her courses as well.

I have learned a lot from this podcast as a non native speaker. I enjoy the explanation of how it is said in English versus Spanish and it has helped me adapt the way I translate things my head. Even if you are not planning to become fluent in Spanish, knowing this vocabulary can help you for those situations you will see in the office. If you would like to include occupational therapy based notes in the podcast, that would also be great!

As a non native Spanish speaker volunteering as an interpreter in a free medical clinic, I find these premium medical lessons invaluable. I appreciate the additional grammar reviews, i.e. why the subjunctive is required, the use of an article in reference to a body part, etc. and the rating of the lessons from beginning to advanced levels. Although I am always in need of lessons, I’m delighted with the challenge of upper intermediate/advanced lessons. The lessons are well paced and the option to actually read the script helps clarify questions that are not always audible, as well as provides a reference as to how words are spelled. This a spectacular resource. Other reviewers have noted the extra features in the subscription service, which are very helpful but require subscription. I would add that Dr Molly states that the level of grammar for Medcial Spanish is intended for intermediate to advanced Spanish learners. If you’re new to learning Spanish, you should try Dr Molly’s Spanish Grammar podcast which is a free podcast aimed more for beginners.

Every time I listen to this podcast, I learn so many practical (yet sophisticated) expressions! Not only does Doc Molly have a fantastic personality, but she is also well versed in her field. Her grammatical and cultural explanations are impeccable, not only because she is gifted, but also because she spends time on these lessons! As a US-born physician who has learned Spanish as an adult and now spoken it through 31 years of medical practice, I have been through many language courses. This podcast never fails to deliver how Spanish is really spoken in patient encounters. The grammar points are uniquely useful even for an advanced speaker. Thanks for this!

Not only have I found the lessons useful for my day-to-day work in primary care, it helps a lot with reviewing and understanding grammar and new vocab outside of the medical sphere. The transcript and audio-break down for the premium service is really great and worth it, I think. It is tough to find such good attention to detail, thoughtful pedagogical approaches to constructing podcasts, and extensive transcripts…and the premium service has that.

I just don’t want anyone to misunderstand. The podcast is just that, the podcast. So far I have seen one partially written transcript for an episode, but It seems that further purchases are necessary to get the full experience (the interactive lessons, all the transcripts, exercises). So speaking strictly from the fact that you have to pay for the learning aids, new Spanish speakers should look elsewhere to podcasts that include them in their posted audio.

This is interactive and overall awesome; when I’ve had questions regarding the podcast, I have written Molly directly and she writes back in a timely manner. She makes learning fun; thank you Molly!!

Dr. Martin's podcast is a great tool for studying when preparing to become a certified interpreter, it's also a good refresher for those already in the profession. You can only study a medical dictionary for so long - Dr. Martin has provided us with great context in an organized, easy-to-maneuver format. She is also just fenomenal at customer service, it's very easy to connect with her!

I was so happy to have found this podcast many years ago when I first started practicing in a Community Health Center in DC working with a largely Central American population. I had taken Spanish classes and spent some time living in Spanish speaking countries, but lacked the vocabulary I needed to communicate about my patients health problems. I started listening to this podcast on my walks to work and found I was immediately able to use the vocabulary I learned. The dialogues she includes are so relevant to my needs as a health care provider (unlike so many other programs that are more focused on travel). Being able to communicate directly has allowed me to develop very close, trusting relationships with my patients. Doc Molly is also a very knowledgeable family medicine doctor. I listen to the podcasts to practice Spanish but often find myself being reminded of important medical history questions that I should be asking! Thank you!

Once there was a old hispanic lady who had acute pain in her abdomen and I could sense it but could not understand what she is saying until we got a translator. I tried to put myself in her shoes and found so helpless. I decided to learn Spanish language. I searched a lot in internet and tried multiple thing until I found Dr. Martin's recipe to my craving. I have been listening to this podcast for about a week and really enjoy it. I do not work in the medical field, but I do work with the public and find a lot of the vocabulary very useful. I'm very excited to find a podcast that goes beyond the basics of food, clothing and shopping. I will say that I don't think this podcast would be great for complete beginners and it would be nice if there was a little more repetition, possible repeating the Spanish parts one more time before moving on. Dr Martin does put in a lot of section breaks and that make it easier to go back to the sections you want to hear over again and skip over those you don't. Also if you have an iPod with a video display, the text of the dialogs are included and you can follow along as they are read. I read a comment on her website saying they thought her accent was not good enough, but I find it to be very good for a non-native speaker. Dr. Martin obviously puts a lot of work into creating these podcasts and it shows. Great podcast!

This is an incredibly helpful podcast. I listen every time I am walking or driving between clinic and calls and I've learned a lot of very helpful vocabulary. I would recommend this to any of the medical professionals interested in developing better relationships with their Pacientes Hispanohablantes! Kudos Molly! A section on ophthalmology (eye terminology) would be great in the future.

I speak pretty decent Spanish and am hoping to become an interpreter in medical settings. However, my medical terminology vocab is very lacking (in English and Spanish!) This podcast is giving me great practice and I especially appreciate the opportunity near the end to practice translating into Spanish myself.
