A thoughtful and graceful interviewer!
Angela offers up a great forum to learn about new books and bookish things. I enjoyed my own conversation with her about my book, but the episodes with Reeves Wiedeman and Adrienne Westenfeld were such treats as well.

Such delightful and fascinating conversations! Whether I’ve read the book or not I always am left with a new perspective.

Fall down this niche
A great podcast focusing on a wide range of literary guests, helmed by a smart and well-read host.

Good podcast...horribly engineered
I enjoy the content of this podcast. Angela really does score interviews with many of our greatest writers. However most weeks the podcast is unlistenable because the sound levels are so messed up. The host is hundreds of decibels louder than her guests. It really is a shame because many weeks I have to stop listening because I get tired of turning the volume up and down.

love!
Love this podcast! Can’t believe what great authors they have on!

Best book-related podcast
This is the best podcast I have found that relates to books. Each episode is an interview with a single author, so you really feel you get to know something about that person and their work. It has steered me toward certain books and enriched my reading experiences. While it is true that in at least one case I was turned away from reading a book based on the author interview, I suspected I would not have liked the book, so this isn't a bad thing. I would love it if more podcasts were like this one.

I adore this podcast
Angie is a wonderful host and picks interesting and engaging writers to interview. By the end of the podcast I want to run out and buy whomever's new book. Keep up the good work! I appreciate that most of the writers are women.

In gratitude
I am so grateful that I discovered this podcast, in my search for something beyond OnBeing, This American Life and political podcasts. The authenticity of your voice - your curiosity and vulnerability - creates wide open spaces for writers to share not only their craft but also their humanity. Angela, you are a powerful artist yourself.

So good.
I've been listening to this podcast for a few weeks and have gone back and started to listen to all of the back episodes bc it's so fantastic. The interviews with Sarah Hepola and Lidia Yuknavitch were so smart and touching and brilliant and emotional. I subscribe to a bajillion bookish podcasts, but this is by far one of the best.

Limited!
I was disappointed in the culturally narrow point of view of the podcast. If you don't mind hearing Jay McInerney poke fun at homeless people purchasing wine or comparing a Chardonnay to Pamela Anderson, this is for you.

Engaging and delightful
The women on the show are intelligent and fun, and have great, non-standard questions they ask their guests. I always have a pen with me when I listen to this podcast- so I remember to read the books they mention!

Love it
Every episode has been great -- a real dialogue with the guest, not a stilted interview. Love that it's two women hosts and mostly women guests.

I love this show
It’s so much fun to listen to Angela and Emily chatting about books, reading, writing, and their lives, that I almost don’t want the guest segment to start. But when the guest joins them, things are even better - it’s still smart, charming people talking about books and their lives, but there’s one specific book being discussed! Every episode is delightful and inspiring. Brilliant show.
