I heard about this podcast from Surviving Sarah and I’m so glad I started listening. Melanie is equal parts hilarious and informative. She is not afraid to share the good, bad, and ugly. And her laugh is AMAZING!!

I found this podcast after searching for more info on Melanie after I read her intro to the book “Choosing Real”. Her writing made me feel like she was talking to me in real life and was just hilarious. I had made a bff through reading and I wanted to see if there was more material. Through google I found pretty much everything because that’s what google does LOL! The first episode I listened to was the New Years one with her husband and it was so funny to me. Melanie is really funny and does not hold back on how tough married life with kids and then trying to work and find time for yourself is. Listening to the podcasts I don’t feel as “alone” or “awkward” in these moments of life I thought were just unique to mine.

If I knew Melanie in real life, we would probably be best friends (sorry if that’s too forward of me, Melanie). I binge listened to every single episode of this podcast and laughed by booty off while doing so. I truly do feel lighter after listening to this podcast, especially when walking through a tough season in life. I look forward to the release of each new episode and laughing along with Melanie and her guests.

Melanie doesn’t know it, but she’s quickly become one of my therapists and close friends. I especially love to listen when I’m struggling through laundry or dishes...she manages makes those things better! I enjoy the range of guests Melanie interviews and especially like her lighthearted approach to life. As a fairly serious super “type A” medical professional, I’m definitely benefitting from learning to lighten up in general and especially when it comes to the way I see myself. Melanie’s snort laugh is one of my favorite things about the show. 😁 Also I just read A Wrinkle in Time and ordered the rest of the set so thanks for that! Keep it up, my internet friend.

Melanie is funny, sweet, sassy, thoughtful and an entertaining interviewer. Her guests are interesting and creative. The podcast is great for big ideas presented in a way that includes a dose or two of much-needed levity. So much to love!

This is such a fun podcast to listen to - Melanie does a great job interviewing her guests, always keeping it real ... whether talking about Zombies or Jesus. She brings honesty and humor into hard subjects and also knows we've all got to "lighten up" and asks guests for practical ways to do that. I've loved epidosed with Chewbacca Mom (how inspirational is she?!), Amena Brown, Jamie Ivey, Osheta Moore... oh man, there are so many others! Great job, Melanie!

This is one of my favorite podcasts. I love how Melanie has the ability to cover sometimes heavy topics, with a sense of humor that is appropriate. Ya'll, I am a momma of three toddlers from Texas, living in the Dutch Caribbean taking care of them while my husband attends medical school. Life is pretty intense on a daily basis, and I was in desperate need of some lightening up, particularly while I am celaning up at the end of the day (or in the middle, let's be real). Melanie is my go to podcast for smiling and laughing while I work. I feel like I am part of the conversation honestly, it is that organic and that fun. Give her a listen and go check out her books. I won't tell you what "companion" her books have been....LOL. I am a big fan and hope to meet her someday, unless we have already randomly met at church camp in the nineties.

I read both of Melanie's books last year, then my friend Courtney was interviewed on the podcast. I felt slighted because I had no idea there was a podcast! So now, I'm a faithful listener. Melanie is laid-back and funny as she talks to her guests, but they also do tackle some really big things! It's encouraging and inspiring. I do wish that there were a coloring book compainion to the podcast though.............

Melanie has absolutely nailed it! She is fresh, relaxed and funny as she 'interviews' cool people with great stories and wisdom. It's as if you are having coffee with two best friends, even though you can't get a word in edgewise. Still, you are delighted to just listen and absorb every delicious second. Mel is the Lin-Manuel Miranda of podcasts! If there were Tony's for podcasting, she'd get my vote! History has its eyes on her for sure!

I've never met Mel (I feel like I can call her that) but I feel like we were meant to be soulmates. Lol. She puts a hilariously funny take on just about any topic, all while keeping it real. And she doesn't mind letting all the "ugly" that we normally try to hide hang out. Give her podcast a listen - you'll love it!!

I first heard of this podcast on another one where Melanie was being interviewed and knew I had to find her podcast. It did not disappoint! She's so funny and I love all the interviews and the refreshing positive outlook she has on everything. Even serious issues are discussed with humor and compassion and I love it. I RARELY actually subscribe to podcasts but this one I hit subscribe immediately.

Melanie has a great way of putting people at ease and inserting happiness in their day. Listening always makes me laugh and of course helps me to "Lighten up!" If you haven't read her book "It's Not Fair" yet, YOU MUST DO SO!! I mean.... I would encourage you to pick up your copy. No pressure. :)

I listened to episode #26 on my commute this morning - inspired, entertained and encouraged - that's how I'm left to begin my day! Melanie's interviews are consistently well-constructed yet flexible enough to wander when the conversation goes down a rabbit hole. Whether an aspiring writer, a mom of littles, facing uncertainty or struggling with chronic illness I'm sure you'll find hope and definitely a laugh.

...but now Melanie just wears me out...I really would like her to chill out and not feel like she is "on" all the time...

Listening to Melanie's podcast is always such a fun time. I usually listen to her while I'm running which seems a little ironic given Melanie's fondness for her "sitting shirt." I enjoy learning about what other women are doing to make our world a better place and how everyone lightens up. It has made me more aware of how I can be a light in my own circle. I always feel like I've been hanging out with great friends at the end of a show.

I found this podcast because I love Melanie's books--and her podcast is equally funny, inspiring, and thoughtful. I found this podcast via another podcast (Finding Joy) where Melanie bravely shares her story, including all the ups and downs she experienced. After hearing her testimony I immediately went to listen to her personal podcast and was not disappointed! It literally made me laugh out loud. Melanie is hilarious and refreshing. She shows that Christians do not have to be a boring vanilla type flavor, but can (and should) be full of laughter, hope, joy, and in touch with our world. Thanks Melanie for spreading some light in our world and helping me lighten up when life gets tough. I will definitely be tuning into this podcast regularly and when the hard days hit.
