I want more.
Absolutely love and appreciate the story of these brothers and the historical context. It felt short to me only in that I wanted more. More of the actual letters. Most likely doesn’t make for a good podcast. Get it. 5 stars. Thank you for telling their story within our history.

Wonderful!
This is a very heartwarming tale of the love of a close-knit family. I wish there was more - I could listen to this for days. Thank you to everyone, mostly to Joe!

This was fantastic, though I wish we’d heard far more of the letters than we did. I’ll check out the website for more info, but I would definitely tune in if ever you guys decided to expand this further and add additional episodes.

Thanks for a great podcast
I’m a bit history buff and I’m especially interested in veterans war experience and I’m so glad that I found this podcast. This brought me to a time and place that I didn’t exist but so much appreciate the lives sacrificed for the peace we have today. Stories like these should be told and remembered for generations to come. I hope Frank was able to overcome the demons that were with him and had a peaceful life in the end.

War is never easy.
I really enjoyed how this podcast was put together. I found the letters fascinating and wondered what my grandfather's letters home must have been like to all his siblings and parents, and I found the Discussion episodes incredibly insightful. Not having been in the military, the veterans discussion and reflection on the brothers' letters helped understand that the experience isn't all so different than all those years ago. My heart goes out to Frank who didn't get the support he needed to process with his experiences. It's a short series but very much worth a listen.

Excellent podcast
Thanks for taking me back into a time I never experienced, and for bringing these characters to life in such a way that I wish they were still here among us

Great Podcast
As an individual who loves history, I thought this was a great podcast. I loved how we got to see the war, although in a small dose, through the eyes of several different individuals. I wonder if this podcast will continue as it’s stated there are many many different letters?

Great idea, well done!
Everyone needs to listen to this podcast. We are reminded how things may change, yet stays the same. Listening to other people’s stories is hugely important! Thank you for this!

More please
Loved the podcast but wished it had been much longer. Hopefully there will be more episodes along these lines with other families. Great job.

Unique way to tell one family’s WWII experience
I really enjoyed the mixture of the letters being read and real media clips. Agree with another review that the content available should have resulted in longer or more episodes. Maybe there will be a book to supplement. The veteran’s discussion episodes should not be skipped. Thank you.

Short
The letters are great. We are told there are hundreds of letters but their are only five short episodes. Disappointed their is not any more content.

Lovely
Listening to this podcast was a truly special experience. I only wish there were more and longer episodes, and that the subjects could have lived to appreciate this homage. ♥️

Something Special
On Dec 7th my Grandfather was at Pearl Harbor and my Dad was a young Marine stationed on Corrigedor. Everything changed for them. They both lived. These letters are much needed for those of us that had family in the war, and for those that dont know a lot about the war. Ive been remiss until tonight in writing a review of how very important this podcast is. Thanks to everyone that put it together.

Touching
Letters from a family with four sons in World War Two. One son caught malaria and tropical diseases then developed mental problems - combat fatigue. The other sons have other experiences.

Great podcast, but episodes are too short
Very interesting and unique podcast. The actors are great and it’s interesting to hear the backstory from the host. But with the amount of source material, these episodes should be at least 30-45 mins each. Not sure why it’s so short

More please!
This is fantastic. Congrats to the Post for another entertaining and educational podcast. When is the next one and how many episodes are we getting?

Letters of War
What a treasure these letters are and that they were preserved and brought to the right people to share with the world. I think a movie should be made from these letters. I only got the Introduction and the Calm of 1941. How can I hear the rest? My dad came from Mexico just after the war but he was so proud of USA that when we were thrown into Vietnam Nam he said we will serve proudly, and my older brother Fernando and myself would have. However and luckily for us, the war ended and I give thanks to God that we did not have to live through the horrors of war. I appreciate all veterans who have served so that we have our freedoms. May God protect them all. Dr Jorge Montes

Fascinating, insightful and moving
Dan Lamothe’s military coverage is always exceptional. This podcast is a flawless transition from his impeccable writing to equally as excellent auditory storytelling
