For someone who always questioned the official narrative based on the forensic evidence that WAS known, it definitely reinforces the hunch that not only was Kazemi innocent but that his murder was covered up to avoid what was going on behind the scenes that was an even bigger issue. If the only Justice that can be had at this point is pointing out what not done to adequately solve the case, this documentary does its job.

The worst kind of true crime. They brought nothing to this story, no new information. Really bad.

Interesting podcast that doesn’t really answer the questions raised. I’d be very interested in an update telling us what his widow, “bodyguard” and guy who last owned the gun are doing today. His wife sure seemed to benefit the most from his death.

I didn’t mind the seeds of doubt the host planted against Vincent. Vincent was given a lot of air time, so felt like host was balancing the scale versus jumping all in. It did feel a little “he said, she said” after awhile though, especially the last episode. Started strong but ended meh. Also, (I am no expert), but if the grand jury feels there’s no new evidence on Steve McNair, why not take the angle of re-opening Jenni’s case with a grand jury?

This podcast was good because the story is captivating. Was it a murder/suicide or a double murder and there’s a murderer among us? But like another reviewer stated, the host is SUUUUPER condescending when talking about Vincent Hill, and it’s takes away from the story of Steve McNair. There’s a rebuttal for every single contention that Vincent proposes and it can be annoying at times. I get that he’s an ex-cop, but the man devoted a ton of time to researching the McNair case, and I thought a majority of Vincent’s points were valid. This podcast is produced well, but it’s kind of hard to follow because it’s not from 1 persons viewpoint. It’s Vincent’s findings/suspicions vs the hosts opinion.

So I’m guessing SI is to scared to put out Lateral Damage.

It’s obvious you have an agenda against Vincent Hill. You discredit him every chance you get, you go out of your way to do so in fact. I see through it. Vincent Hill comes across as very credible and far more of a stand-up guy than you do with all your pettiness directed at him. I find your brand of journalism despicable for you to act this way.

I found this podcast to be compelling and bring up a lot of relevant points about McNair’s death. An open/close case on an alleged murder-suicide of a huge football legend always seemed odd to me. 4 days isn’t enough time to do a thorough investigation - not when there are too many other characters involved (many whom are shady). I couldn’t turn this podcast off. Very well done!

I’m happy you back but can we get back to the topic of “Steve McNair” The reason most of us are here.

Very interesting, I’ve lived in Nashville all my life. Can remember like it was yesterday seeing the news cast that Steve McNair was found dead. Not knowing any of this information other than what the News was putting out, it really makes you wonder. Just on a thought that I had seeing and stuck with me all these years. How hardened a family member showed themselves. At that moment made me think...they possibly had been a part in his demise. Yeah, They had good reason not to show emotion, but you don’t have to say a word to show how you truly feel.

This leaves too much info out. Like the texts. She was clearly spiraling more than this podcast lets on. It also ignores the other lover being followed by a black SUV. When you put all that together, it makes a lot more sense.

This was just plain bad. I made it through entire podcast hoping that an actual fact would be presented. It is all speculation by people with conspiracy theories that you can hardly follow. They are using rumors and opinions like they are facts to accuse innocent people of murder. They can’t all be guilty.

This story always sounded fishy. They did a good job backing up facts and being honest, looking at all angles. His Ex-wife has a special place in Hell for what she did to his mom. Worth listening too.

Lots of reviews for your to peruse so I’ll keep it short and give you my “synopsis review” - this is the podcast that got me listening to podcasts. I don’t watch football and I don’t follow the sport, but this story was captivating and well told. Also, good use of bumpers and segues appreciating I am listening to something and only using one sense. Too many podcasts I’ve listened to since then seem to forget or neglect I’m listening so a five second pause or 10 seconds of music between thoughts does not keep me interested. I was “sad” when this ended as it was great storytelling.

As a Nashville native it was a big deal to get the NFL here. Steve McNair was Nashville’s darling hero, and the city would have done anything to show the taxpayers that the right choice was made to get the oilers, and not the seedy underbelly of what it came with. Corruption from top to bottom. I’m sad that her family has had to come to peace with how they treated her. Most nashvillians have always been suspicious of the story of his death. This podcast gives many alternate theories that could have been what REALLY happened. It’s upsetting that Nashville has lost transparency in this murder and that the real killer was rewarded with freedom for taking out a fallen hero before he was exposed.

It’s a good podcast. Look forward to more from him. As for the facts, just no there, there. Sad case. The wife was left with a mess financially, the kids come first. Sorry Mom!

This series doesn’t really do anything to further the conspiracy. Until the end, he only really talks to people who respond to every piece of evidence with “yeah, but”....would have been MUCH better as just a deep dive into the murder and all the cool extras and information about Steve’s life without the conspiracy lean. I love a good conspiracy theory! Is it bad of me to say I don’t even remember this murder? But the whole case seems weird. And I feel like the GF’s manager should’ve still went back to the police to clarify her statement about the GF not being suicidal/having suicidal ideations. She said she thought it wouldn’t matter. Maybe it would have? Idk. I do think it’s interesting that the biggest player in this game is a “disgraced” former police officer/detective/former private investigator. Hmm 🤔

I listened to this entire series. My first thought is that almost the entire series is based on conspiracy theories by Vincent Hill who is just trying to make money off of McNair’s death. I found him to have no credibility. Then there is Doc Simpson who seemed to be a con man or a grifter that wedged his way into the life of a famous person. I also gave little weight to what he said. Overall this series was a waste of time. Just a bunch of conspiracy theories. Maybe the police closed the case so quickly because the evidence was clear and overwhelming.

I don’t get why this host and the investigator/disgraced former cop seem to think small people are physically incapable of firing guns and that inexpensive guns don’t fire when you pull the trigger.

Very well done. A nice complement to other similar sports podcasts like “Gladiator” and “30 for 30.” Good editing, good interviews, good story flow. If you pay attention, the reporter is very rational, and he does not take anyone’s side; he’s skeptical of everyone he talks to and calls out peoples’ biases. This show is actually very fair, some people seem to be missing that simply because it re-examines old evidence, details, and police reports.

This is compelling, with lots of good moments, but it’s long. A good editor could reduce this to fewer episodes and make it a lot better.

Thanks for all the research. There's so many directions could point in this tragedy. When it happened it seemed bizarre now that I listened to this series, I have more questions than answers years later. I hope this gets solved for Mama McNair!

The facts are interesting and new but he sounds like he is reading from the notes for his book. Too long. It could be done in l as episodes and more interesting format.

Coming from a lifelong Titans fan, I am just coming around to listening to this podcast. AMAZING job. There are hundreds of unanswered questions. It’s sad that Steve’s death will never be solved because we now know that Kazemi did not kill him. No chance. I learned so much from this podcast.

It seems like this case was not properly investigated. There were so many discrepancies and seedy parties not thoroughly looked into before the case was quickly closed. McNair tarnished his legacy with his life choices and his mother and children are now left without knowing the truth.

Very well done. Lots of inconsistencies in the facts, but the podcast was consistent in giving everything the benefit of a doubt. In the end, the whole story ends up like a tragic, real life version of Clue.

Caveat: I am both a football fan, who remembers that Super Bowl very well, and who admired Air McNair because of all that he represented (not easy being a black QB, not in the 90's), and liked him so much even though I never rooted for him. I can guess that many listeners feel like I do. The creator of the pod and his producers have somewhat sensationalized the story; I think that is a given. But I also think that they have tried to act "journalistically" and not go all TMZ on the story either. So, 50/50 journalism/TMZ? At the end of the day, at the end of the last episode, has anything changed? Perhaps us peons know a little more (for me, more than a little more) about a tragic incident that happened years ago. But is that enough? Is there some great injustice here that needs to be dug up? (IMO yes!) Do it again, guys. Push this out. I think that Nashville PD are either lazy or paid off. The truth always comes out. Peace, Mrs. Lucille, I wish you could have your house back. P.S. Vincent if you reading this, keep up the good fight, but please stay away from fauxnews. And if you're doing this to aggrandize yourself... Well, they're building an eighth circle of hell for Trump and his fellow bullshitters; I hope you don't end up in there. I really do.

This podcast is like having someone read aloud Instagram comments. Just ignorant. No one interviewed knows one actual fact and the host doesn’t seem to care. The last episode should end with an apology for wasting the listeners’ time. I can only assume family members of the podcaster were solicited for the favorable reviews.

The podcast itself was entertaining but the subject matter is an old story. The conspiracy theories abound. The problem with conspiracy theories is that they don’t require any proof, just speculation. Sometimes things are simple. Sometimes remarkable people have unremarkable lives and unremarkable deaths. At their core, they are just people like the rest of us. The only shady character I saw was Hill. He’s built a career on this. Even the podcast host found out the lady was mentally unstable when he did his own research and didn’t depend on what he was told. If he would have done that in the beginning as opposed to Episode 7 the direction of the podcast would probably have changed. Steve McNair was an amazing athlete. But people are trying to extrapolate that to him having to been assassinated or murdered in some sort of larger, sinister scheme. He was a man who had numerous women, some at the same time. And he ran into one who was unstable and killed him for it. And killed herself.

This is an embarrassing display of crackpots and malcontents who ignore the available physical proof to wax hopeful that McNair simply wasn’t murdered by his mistress. A wild rumor - completely unsupported by evidence - gets prominent play. That is emblematic of this fraud. It is pathetic that the McNair family pain was exploited for this nonsense. Rohan and Sports Illustrated should be ashamed by his farce posing as journalism.

I really enjoyed this podcast. I feel it gave a lot of information on the killing of Steve McNair.

Can’t say I’m impressed with this subpar journalism /amateur documentary/true crime show. We know what happened. We don’t know why. And this show provides no answers. Only the same urban legends that exist all over Nashville & the internet. Steve McNair was an amazing athlete on the field. And a very complicated man off the field. Who doesn’t have secrets among us? To build an entire show on nothing but the scandal that never was is beneath the standards of SI. Or so I thought...

The podcast seems too tied into one private investigator’s research, but he also seems to encompass all of the dissenting opinion. It’s easy to tie a nice little bow around the crime by blaming Jenni, but this podcast does a great job of finding doubt and no one who believe Jenni did it has the facts to back it up.

Did Tim push the investigators on the GSR as only being trace ? Did he clarify on the contradictions of her body location at the time of her shooting ? Did he push the Nashville PD on the items requested via Public Records Request ? #SwissCheese The situation stinks but it’s full of holes.

The podcast was very interesting, as it brought to light many aspects of McNair's life, and death. This series lacked a clear direction, and ultimately left the same questions that were relevant in the first episode, unanswered in the last. I enjoyed listening to the storyline and different angles.

I'm not going to say this is the worst podcast I've listened to, but it's close. The production is just bad-- from the writing, to the score and the editing. The episodes seem to last so long because of how it's structured. As for the content, it's mostly hearsay. When you compare this to the work of an actual journalist like Madeleine Baran, this is very amateur. I think the subject of the podcast is important and I hope someone else will actually investigate this.

So many unanswered questions... lots of shady people involved. This case should be reopened and investigated.

Wow. Tim Rowan did an incredible job of researching all of the angles... I have listened to each episode twice and I am still shaking my head at the fact that the Nashville police closed this case after 4 days and without using more evidence... there are so many clouds around both Jenni and Steve... this case should definitely be reopened for both of their families sakes... all a judge has to do is listen to this podcast and it shows enough doubt to re open...

It’s an interesting story. But it’s all speculation and a couple of horrible unsubstantiated rumors and this Doc Simpson calls himself a family friend? Lot of personal gossip coming from a “friend”
