Good for Spooky Sleeping
I see people complaining about the narrator’s cadence, and I can understand what they mean, but skill issue, I guess. I’ve listened to every episode and every new one is an instant listen. One of my favorite horror podcasts.

Excellent!
Each new episode is a gift of intelligent writing, great stories & narration. It’s thrilling to see new ones appear and I can’t wait to open them. Thanks Soren!

It all ends in a whisper…
Seriously. Every sentence the guy utters ends in a whisper, makes it very hard to follow the story because it’s distracting. The cadence is verrrrry William Shatner in Star Trek….

Volume
I love the stories but each sentence spoken by the narrator seems to descend into a difficult to hear whisper. The beginning of each line is spoken at a volume that’s easy to hear. About halfway through the narrator drops his voice to a low whisper. I realize this is probably by design. It’s just hard to keep turning the volume up and down throughout the story.

Soren is like a friend
I check my feed at least once a week hoping for a new story from Knifepoint and whenever a new one goes up I devour it. Soren’s causal and understated style is like a friend telling me a story, I can see it and it always feels true
once upon a fan
Been listening for years and still great
Every time knifepoint posts, I know the story is going to be good. It’s always worth the wait.

Volume issues
I appreciate this show for being ad-free and having great horror content. However, I use this podcast to fall asleep to and the volume differences in the narrator's voice make it difficult. He starts off most sentences loud and strong, but then tapers off at the end making it hard to understand what they said.

First class as always
Sabbatical just dropped and it’s as great as all the rest. Mr. Narnia graces us with an episode it’s always a marvelous creepy listen. Thanks for providing us with these stories. I think it’s time to go back to the beginning and telisten to the lot for the third time. Highly recommended. KKN

Audio
Love the stories! But the heavily punctuated audio made the pace of listening difficult.

Started from episode 1
I’ve been listening to every episode for the last couple days. I forgot how much I love these stories. This being the first podcast I ever listened to,Fields being the first of many. Thank you for opening up a world of horror and keeping the genre unique and original. J. Bender

Love it
I absolutely love this show, it’s the only one I can’t wait for. Keep it up please😬

Great show, except for…
The main narrator has this infuriating habit of frequently speaking the last word of a sentence, only the last, in the faintest whisper, especially when he considers that part of the story especially morbid or sorrowful. Have you ever been aggravated to tears by the sound of someone slurping their drink, or chewing loudly, or vocal fry? This molests my ears in exactly the same way. Also it makes it very hard to hear what he’s saying. I love the stories and the narration otherwise but please for the love of god just speak with a consistent volume.

Easily the best
I listen to a lot of horror podcasts, but nothing comes close to Knifepoint. I love that we are just dropped into the story; no preamble, no signposting or self promotion. We’re just… there. The delivery was always spot on, but with the addition of more readers who are equally talented the podcast has taken on an eerily realistic documentary quality. And this is only amplified by the sound design, which is perfectly understated and never overproduced.

One of the best out there!
I’ve been a long time listener and love the show. I just finished Bots and wanted to tell you I loved it. I love all your work but that one was excellent. Keep it up!

Soren Narnia, man
I’m a horror audiophile, an odd addiction that began years ago. Good horror listening is a balance of performance and the narrative itself. I found knifepoint horror at college(ucsc), which for those of you who don’t know is a college up in a redwood forest. Sometimes I’d have dark walks through forest paths and my only company was this podcast. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Sorens’ stories have an offbeat horrifying element to them, while his voice acting provides a sense of comfort and familiarity for me. For this reason, I also like listening to this stuff as I fall asleep. SN is my favorite author of all time and his writings are the pinnacle the online horror community has to offer. They are thought-provoking pieces that satisfy a need for horror content that is scary in a very real, non-gimmicky way. Not sure if he’d ever do live stuff or make merch, but I’d be there and buy it all. For anyone who enjoys this guys authorship, he has a non-horror podcast with some real gems(Those Snowy Nights You Read to Me, They’ll Never Be Forgotten). Soren, with all the appreciation in the world for what you do, you are an absolute madman for posting these stories for free. I am forever grateful.

Incredible
I consume way too much horror media. Fellow gluttons might agree that most is overdone, half-baked, or simply difficult to swallow… Not so here my hungry friend! Knifepoint horror will satisfy your appetite for authentic yet flawlessly executed horror.

Absolutely fantastic
I listen, read, and watch tons of horror media (spooky season’s way too short for my tastes!) and this podcast is straight up my favorite one that I’ve discovered 🙌 Absolutely master storytelling delivery.

Sleep to this and review that you do if you’re a coxcomb
Otherwise, enjoy the most literate and sublime horror podcast out there. This is a huge contrast to a certain horror podcast riddled with undisciplined, blithe cringe writing AND narration and a spectrum of other good but consistently flawed shows: - Mispronunciations - Cheesy, unbelievably interjected sound effects - Pompous, unfazed narration - Unscary horror unless losing your wifi is your biggest fear It gets harder and harder to come up with variations on horror that are still scary. The host really comes through on this while excellently portraying increasingly horrific day-to-day happenings in a variety of walks of life. True, he may not be recording wild-eyed and smashing up his studio every second but if you are used to focusing on and comprehending anything beyond a video ad your time will be greatly rewarded. Update: Soren, in your new episode you sound a ton like the jaded gun factory owner’s son who punched me in the kidney for fun once. Please don’t get THAT into your craft, but you are THE man when it comes to this stuff. Your acting and writing are Hollywood-level! 6 (remote and mysterious) stars for all you do. This latest episode is an awesomely cryptic funnel into one great big dark wowfest.

THE Standard
I’ve listened to an obscene number of horror podcasts in the past 7 years. Went through NoSleep, CTFDN, TWL, Creepy, Tales to Terrify, PseudoPod, Nightmare Magazine, et al. This is THE horror podcast. Nothing else comes close to Knifepoint. The stories and storyteller (mostly the author) are phenomenal. Straight goods, no filler. And the stories just get better w each listen.

Written For People Who Like The Smell of Their Own Farts
Do you love the smell of your own farts? Do you think your taste in "art" is more refined and intelligent than most? Do you drink with your pinky out? Whenever someone says they like something, do you always feel an urge to interject with, "Hm, actually..."? Then you'll probably love this! One line by the insufferable narrator basically says it all: "I have a great memory...it's probably photographic" *does a cool guy sniff* 🤮

favorite literary / fiction podcast
been listening / reading soren’s stories since 2015 and there still is nothing better. his stories are a great reminder that mystery is one of the true treasures of this universe - his stories are so incredibly crafted and impeccable with its details that they will get under yer skin, seep deep into the crevices of your mind, making you return again and again trying to find some of details missed the first ten times thru (and there are always more depths to plumb), yet the unknowns permeate and settle deep like ancient new england burying grounds that have secrets we are just never meant to know.

Unconventional, but then again not always. Nightmarish often. Facetious too. Calming and intoxicating. My favorite.

Good
Very good stories!
story listening to guy
I wish he would put out a print collection.
Some stories are whimsical, others chilling. Many seem to have been drafted stream-of-consciousness, as the twists they take are often surprising. The few times a story doesn’t land, it still has great craft.

Deeply unsettling and absolutely incredible stories

Best wishes
I so love the writings of this author to the extreme extent of: appreciating a book about a baseball board game. -endnote: apologies if there is another “Soren narnia” out there. Maybe baseball is that author’s thing, but, they should know that you share a style with a contemporary fiction writer, and… Good on ya. And.. If you read this: make your books accessible to me! I am presently dramatically broke! Best wishes..

Amazing
This podcast proves that you don’t need a full production studio to make quality content! This man has been the voice in my ears every night. Thanks for the great stories my man! Loving every episode!

Love it to death.
Best commentator I’ve heard ever for a podcast. Perfect.

Sometimes it’s hard to breathe...
... when I listen to these. They are THAT creepy and unsettling. IOW, really, really good stuff. Many episodes shade from horrifying to poignant and back again, a neat trick I’ve never really heard anyone else do. Soren Narnia could make a grocery list read aloud a sound terrifying. Commit to the slow burn these wholly original tales ask of you. It will be worth it.

Climbing down Jacob’s Ladder
This is a writer who is scared… by his own stories. That’s right, I can sense that minute, ever present trembling in his voice. He can’t hide it. How does he manage to live on like this? Writing and recoding stories hiding in a closet locked from the inside, in a room where every creature from his own stories permeates through the dark corners… I consume every story as soon as it hits the shelf, and I suggest you do the same. Who knows, we may not see the next one tomorrow… we are talking about a writer who may not survive his own fateful stories after all.

Excellent Presentation
Do you write a “screenplay” for these? Or are they all written this way? Your 1st person narrative style is captivating. Great job!

My favorite story yet. I immediately identified with the female character…had to listen 3x before I got to the end bc the rain sound and cadence of narration is so disarming, it just puts me to sleep (which is a rare and beautiful thing where I live!). Truly a unique podcast. You never know what’s about to happen in these stories

One of the best.
Unique eerie and unnerving stories. Love to listen at night in bed. Different vibes than any other horror podcast out. Calm creepy realistic fright.

This show, man
The narration and tone established through his delivery is perfect for this genre. Minimal if zero sound effects, and it’s awesome: just a man with strong voice acting skills telling you a story. Good ones to start with are “legend” and “sounds”

The best in horror!
I have listened to several horror podcasts, and Knifepoint Horror is at the very top. The stories are truly haunting, even terrifying, and delivered with simple, soft narration which makes the listener focus on the story. Highly recommended.
