I have been listening to it for about 4 years, and I have at least twice listened to all of them from the beginning. Almost none of the content is out of date since they either make jokes about things or have really interesting discussions about them. Most of the other podcasts on the idle thumbs network are also really good. Recommended to the max. 10 out of 10 Goldblums

The show is great but they have strayed too far away from video games. The hosts are as witty as ever but now it feels something more like the morning radio shows favored by rock stations.

These guys tell the best stories.

If you can get past the occasionally hectic nature of the conversations this podcast has insightful and entertaining commentary on the games industry made by intelligent and experienced developers. The focus tends to be on smaller independent games so it's a great way of learning about things you'd probably never hear of otherwise. I only wish they made more bird sounds. If only...

I heard about this podcast from the time Sean was a guest on the Gamechurch podcast and I've been listening ever since. I appreciate their thoughtful take on videogames. It is clear that each of the hosts has their own taste in games, but they are willing to learn about other games and appreciate the perspectives of others.

You will be hard pressed to find a video game podcast more insightful, critical, humorous and earnest than IdleThumbs. Idle Thumbs is well worth the time I've put into it and has shaped my outlook on the beauty (and shortcomings) of video games.

A podcast that is great to listen to.

I adore this podcast. Idle thumbs is smart and critical in their videogame discussions and laugh out loud funny. That they ask good questions and discuss mechanics and themes of games have given me a new appreciation for any games and introduced me to gems I would have missed, like Quadrilateral Cowboy. In addition to good debate and discussion, they have great chemistry and support each other. Their passion is evident and refreshing. Please never stop.

This is hands down my favorite podcast. I halt any podcast I'm in the middle of and switch over any time a new episode shows up in my feed. If you're curious what the show is like look for the YouTube video "Nick Breckon's GTA5 Troll Clone Nightmare". It's the most I've ever laughed at a piece of audio.

I've only listened to Idle Thumbs for a few months but it has quickly become my go to video games Podcast. This is a seriously unique show that typically emphasises the various video game misadventures of the hosts of the show. It's so much more than just a weekly breakdown of video game news and releases, essentially the craft beer version of video game Podcasts.

Idle Thumbs is one of the most consistently great video game podcasts. Their discussions provide nuanced commentary on video games and (for lack of a better term) video game culture. They have great rapport, and provide some of the funniest moments in all of podcasting

I've been listening to the idle thumbs podcast for a real long time, since its launch in 2008. I should first disclose the fact that I did back these guys on kickstarter, so I have somewhat of a vested interest in their continued success. I won't lie: The show has had its ups and downs as far as being engaging, but the highs have been really high and good. At the absolute worst, the podcasts have been an hour of comfortable and friendly banter from a set of extremely likable individuals. At its best, this podcast features some of most hilarious, goofy, and intelligent conversation on video games available. That said, I have to admit I like the original dynamic of Jake, Nick, and Chris the most. This is why I've been enjoying the recent podcasts so much, lately. It is not as though I dislike or find the other podcast hosts or find them bad, I just find podcasts that include that core lineup (at least) to be the most dynamic and funny.

Always entertaining and usually informative, I love the deep examination of the views and digging into mechanics.

Great podcast from people working in the games industry that clearly love gaming. One thing that is really nice is that when they are talking for an extended period of time about a game, Chris (the host) always makes sure to repeatedly mention the name (this sounds small but it is a really nice thing for a games podcast)

You should listen to Idle Thumbs if: you love video games and the people who make them, you love weird and interesting news and history you love good books and movies, and talking about them, you love listening to interesting friends hanging out and having discussion you wish you were having. Seriously you guys, it's great. And if you like it you should check out some of the other casts on their network.

I love listening to podcasts when I'm walking to campus or cooking, or otherwise not actively concentrating on something. Idle thumbs focuses on video James, and has quality insight into a variety of games from indie to AAA. Without a strict structure for discussion, they often go off on tangents about non-video game related topics, like humanity's inevitable destructions at the hands of robots, robot telemarketers, and Nick Breedon. It's quality banter

I have been periodically sending my friends episodes since the 2015 episode "#dishonoredHalloween", regardless if they like video games or not. Soon I may not have any friends left because I pester them so much about it, but at least I will have Daddy Long Legs and his erect member.

A thought-provoking games industry podcast that truly "never surrenders".

Best into song ever! I've been listening for years and love this show. I appreciate the look into what's going on in their gaming world each week, they are real game developers so they know what they are talking about. Jake is hilarious but Nick is the real star of the show! (As long as he is not on a long vacation)

Hands-down the greatest gaming podcast around. Even though I follow the industry I always find something new to check out. The gang is extremely insightful and articulate, too.

This is, by far, my favorite gaming podcast, and I have a lot of time to try all the different ones while I'm at work. These podcastsers are friendly and funny, have pleasant voices, and hold very interesting discussions about video games full of novel ideas and humor without ever going too far off topic, or feeling forced. They go in depth on topics instead of trying to relay every little news headline. Women, LGBTQ+ folk, and racial minorities are all respected. My only, very minor, quibble with it is that the intro theme song is kind of annoying. The lyrics are, "Games, video games, video games, video gaaAAAaAaAmes..." ad infinitum, nothing else. But they did make it themselves, and almost all the other music they do is pretty great.

As a relatively recent follower of the Idle Thumbs, I have truly been enjoying their unique take on gaming and the industry. Most of the hosts are on the development side of things rather than the press side, so they tend to view things through a different lens. Discussions can certainly get quite "in the weeds", but that is part of what makes the Cast enjoyable to listen to.

Been listening for about a year now and I absolutely love this show. The hosts are entertaining as well as informative and I appreciate their style of humor.

As someone who’s followed Nick and Steve Gaynor for a while on Twitter, who grew out of the 90s PC era, and who reads Rock, Paper, Shotgun on the regular, I’m loving this podcast. Idle Thumbs is actually the first podcast I’ve ever stuck with. I have audio processing issues, but Idle Thumbs is easily one of the easiest podcasts to follow if you’re at all interested in games outside of the current AAA trends. If I would’ve known how awesome this was, I would’ve started listening to the Thumbs years ago!

What a great Pod to cast by veterans of the industry. It's funny, intelligent, and witty. They cover everything from PC games to console games to iOS games. One of the best video game podcast available. A must subscribe for any video game fan!

These guys and gal have such great rapport that even if you don’t game you will love this podcast. I do game, however, which makes it all the more interesting. Love it!
