The Best
I’m a drummer. I love music- all kinds. I listen to (and watch on YouTube and the like) a lot of interviews with musicians, and podcasts about musicians and music. Which I believe clearly establishes me as an expert. This is the best one. Dave interviews people in a real, no frills, very open, very organic, very human way. And it’s always fascinating. He’s a person people like talking to. You can tell immediately. He also doesn’t ask ridiculous, pandering questions. He’s not an industry plant. He’s not going to try to sell you drumheads or sticks or splash cymbals. He’s not endorsing anything, although like Dave King I’m pretty sure he plays Vic Firth antlers exclusively. He could interview Tommy Lee about his stamp collection and it’d be mesmerizing. Dig in.

I laughed
I laughed pretty hard. I honestly didn’t know who Stix was prior to listening to this podcast. Wild guy. Great interview, when you gave him a minute to talk (lol), and he’s the David Lee Roth of drummers. Cannot ask for more.

Jay Moe!
Jay is one of my favorite people on the planet, fantastic talent, drummer, producer, & musicologist around. Great interview! -Jeff Van D.

Really good stuff for the most part
Love the guests and format. One small piece of constructive criticism from the interview with JJ Johnson: Really wish the host would just let the interview subjects finish their thoughts instead of trying to finish for them. Just too many interruptions when JJ was in the middle of a response. Let the interviews breathe and a really good podcast becomes an excellent one. Just some friendly advice from a fan of the podcast.

It’s Back!
So happy you’re back!! This is my favorite music podcast, hands down. Thanks for the hangs, - a classical musician who knows nothing about drumming

GOAT Podcast
Best interviewer hands down. Let’s the guests speak, and has great conversation. GOAT podcast hands down, glad I kept this in my que all this time, and was ready to listen as soon as a new episode came out years later! Thanks for bringing it back!

All Hail IHT
Hands down the best drum/music podcast out there. Has the vibe of a real hang—informative and oftentimes hilarious. So glad that new episodes are happening again.

I love this podcast
Really excellent interviews and information on this podcast. Love it. It delves into deeper insights into what makes each guest tick and has a lot of substance. Highly recommended!

Must listen for any musician
Killer podcast!

OK podcast. Charging now, no way
Was a pretty good relaxed podcast, more aimed at industry musicians vs just drummers. Not cool he is going to the bait and switch. Apparently now charging for episodes ( and saying " that's the way it's going to be" Not worth it for myself as there are too many great podcasts, better than this, out there now.

I learned more in this single podcast than I have in 5 years. I could listen to this guy talk all day. Such a wealth of knowledge. You led the podcast well and let him speak and guided the conversation really well. Amazing stuff please please keep these going. This one in particular is something not covered enough and with this amount of knowledge. Chris is an icon in the mastery of what makes a drum work. More please!!!

I'm a guitar player who loves drummers. I've listened to everyone of these podcasts at LEAST two or three times. I keep coming back to them! Much kudos to Dave.

Excellent podcast. Great interviews with all kinds of musicians with insight on the fun and not so fun parts of drums/music. Always a great listen.

I. Love. This.
This podcast is the most informative, entertaining thing I’ve found on the web. Dave is a great host/interviewer. His ability to get his guests to talk so easily is a gift. My hope is that it’s here to stay!

Just consulted the Ouija Board...Mingus said it’s cool, and Dannie likes it as well
Ah Um
Drum nerd finds a home.
This is hands down the best drumcentric podcast. I have listened to every episode and gleefully await the new ones. I have no idea who the hell Dave is but when he took a hiatus a while back I was bummed. He left a huge hole in my life. I am so stoked IHT is back and Dave has hit his stride as an interviewer. I love this podcast.

I LOVE this podcast! Keep it going. I missed it when it was gone.

What's not to love
I've loved every episode! Entertaining even when I don't really care for the guest (which is rare). There are a bunch of episodes I could recommend to start with... Too many: Josh Freese, Brain, Mitch Marine, Lyle Workman.... Just check it out, you won't be disappointed! Season 2 is now even better than season one... which I thought would be impossible!

The Best podcast. Period. Disagree? Enjoy living a lie, pal.

Simply the best
There are now many drummer-interview-related podcasts, but this one is by far the best. Especially if you're looking to learn about a musician's unique personality as opposed to just tips for up and coming drummers. This is the podcast where you'll get a glimpse into how great musicians tick. Hilarious, insightful, and a look behind the curtain.

Great podcast!
I'd Hit That is one of my favorite podcasts with musician interviews. Nothing annoying, just great conversations.

Coffee time with Zach Danziger
My favorite podcast by far. Look forward to it every week.

Best podcast ever. Exactly the way podcasts should be.
IHT is the way interviews like this should be. Most interviews today might as well be auto-tuned. Dave conducts real deal interviews without all the pointless B.S. talk about gear, etc. It's about the life of a musician and the personalities guide the interview. Not only that, but he knows what he's talking about. Not only that, but his knoweldge of music is beyond any other interviewer I have ever heard before, including those for some of the biggest names in the business. Is everyone speaking directly into a Shure SM7 with compression an EQ? Their sitting in a car talking real. IHT is the truth.

One of the best musician podcasts!
I’m always pleased when I see that a new “I’d Hit That” is available for download. This podcast isn’t an ad-laden duplicate of a 90’s radio show. It’s more of a well-recorded and engineered hang session with well known creative figures. Always enjoyable and often educational and revelatory, “IHT” is one of my favorite podcasts!

I’d Hit That is worth the time to listen!!!
Dave’s got THAT thing when talking to drummers and other musicians in the industry! He knows how to entertain and also ask the serious important questions! Keep up the great work señor!!!!!!!

There are plenty of drumming podcasts. They are good but I'd Hit That is the absolute best! Quality guests and content.

The best
There is no better drumming podcast. This podcast gives insight as to who each drummer really is. It's like listening to a modern drummer interview if modern drummer interviewed interesting people and wasn't lame. Dave, the interviewer, is witty and unafraid of offending thin-skinned manginas. Download and listen for yourself or don’t and go groom your already immaculate mangina.
Meemo7337
Very informative!
A great series of interviews that goes much deeper into what makes the artist tick and how they got to where they are. Highly recommended for anyone in the music business.

Dave knows how to keep it real
I am a drummer and am so sick of the same old interviews about ‘who is your influence’ bla bla bla. His interviews are about the people, their real lives, the crappy stuff that happens in between the cool gigs....real life. My favorite interview is with Steve Ferrone - not only did I learn about his name, but I learned about the difference in the vibe while being on the road with Clapton vs being on the road with Harrison. Thanks for doing these Dave - especially fun to listen to while I am driving hours to my next gig!

The Realest of the Real
Such a great experience here. The only drum podcast that provides uninterrupted access to the absolute greats of the art form. No babbling on about gear or exercises. Just honest conversations about the experiences and lives of the music biz. If you want to learn how to really do it, this is the place.

My favorite podcast for a long time, glad it has made a return!

!
Pretty cool podcast. I've never heard Keltner speak till now. That said, the host really seems to go for the gossip. The prodding of Steve Ferrone for Clapton dirt was a bit strange. Kind of surprised that he obliged. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Should be required listening for every drummer. Some incredible stories and insight into how the best drummers alive approach their kit. Thanks for all the hard work Dave!
