Great Podcast - One of my favorites
Ken's podcast compliments his exellent blog "By Ken Levine". He is a long time Hollywood writer/ director / showrunner that has been involved is several of the "best sitcoms of all time". He has great guests from time to time.

Fun and Interesting
Ken Levine has to have one of the most varied backgrounds of any podcaster: TV and Movie Writer, TV Director, Playwright, DJ, and baseball announcer. Yet, he is so self deprecating and wryly humorous at the same time. He’s really good at interviewing people you’ve likely never heard of, but have seen or heard before, and opening up sides of the entertainment industry you might not know existed. There’s great stories and anecdotes delivered really well. This is a podcast I never miss.

My One Can’t Miss Podcast
I listen to a lot of podcasts every week but Hollywood & Levine is the only one I can’t wait to hear each Wednesday when Renaissance Man, Ken Levine, drops his new episodes. The hour always goes by too fast, is always entertaining and usually teaches me a new thing or two. And you can’t beat the price!

A Review of "Hollywood & Levine"
I had found certain parts of what I had believed to had been certain installments of this "Hollywood & Levine" to had been vulgar (or profane) , unnecessary, and detrimental.

A Must-Listen for all Current and Future Entertainment Professionals
As someone who has worked in the “biz” my entire professional life, “Hollywood & Levine” is the real deal! Honest, funny and insightful anecdotes from Ken Levine and his entertainment industry colleagues is a Masterclass for all to enjoy. As a part-time Adjunct at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, this podcast will now be an essential part of the curriculum. THANK YOU KEN!!!

Used to be a weekly listener
I have been a fan of Ken and he is a great and personable host. There is a lot to like about this podcast, but after jokingly wishing for the death of the Florida governor, I will no longer be listening.

How I found it I do not know but I like it
Probably a glitch in the search engine of my favorit podcast app which is definitely not made by Apple led me to this podcast. I listened to a bunch of more recent episodes then started at episode 1. Ken is so personable, it is a completely pleasant experience to listen to him. His combination of TV, Radio and Baseball makes for interesting stories. He is a good interviewer too.

Always Interesting and Fresh
Ken never disappoints his blog readers or his podcast listeners. I have no idea how he does it, day in and day out over the years. He obviously has a nimble mind, tons of experience and a gift for relating his thoughts so well.

One of a Kind
I don’t know how many times Ken can close a show requesting his listeners to leave a review before I actually do it. I guess I’m always basking in the enjoyment of the episode to remember to do it. I love HOLLYWOOD AND LEVINE. Ken Levine brings his decades of experiences as a television writer, baseball enthusiast, and playwright and uses it as a jumping off point to, well… talk about whatever he’d like. You never know what you’ll listen to from week to week. Perhaps a series of anecdotes about his years of writing for classic shows like MASH, CHEERS, and FRASIER. Maybe he’ll read one of his plays. Perhaps he’ll give an interview. But these are rarely interviews with participants doing the press rounds on every other podcast you listen to. Maybe he’ll speak someone running a pirate radio station out of his garage, or an actor who appeared on one of his long canceled shows to help shed light on their experience in and around the business. Sometimes Ken will provide readings of his plays. And all of this takes place in roughly 30 minutes a week, too short a time if you ask me. In addition to this, Ken is excellent at engaging with his fans. You got a question for him? Shoot him an email and in all likelihood he’ll be happy to respond to it. The television landscape has changed and not many participants of its various golden ages are still around to tell tales. I love listening to Ken’s stories. The man has one of the best voices in the business. Give him a go. You surely won’t be disappointed.

A Treasure
Ken Levine would be too good to be true if he weren’t for real. He started as a Top 40 DJ, transitioned into television comedy writing for some of the most prestigious shows ever (such as MASH, Cheers, and Frazier), took a detour as a Major League Baseball announcer, and is now a blogger and podcaster. And it’s a great podcast. He’s known and often befriended many famous people (Ted Danson, Vin Scully, and Kevin Smith, just to name three) and has stories about most. He’s a great interviewer, and often the least-famous guests have the best stories. Do yourself a favor: subscribe.

LOVE THIS PODCAST!
I’m a sucker for “behind the curtain” kinds of podcasts and Ken Levine never fails to deliver with wide ranging stories, tales, anecdotes etc… from the entertainment world. Give it a listen - you won’t be disappointed!

Listened To Them All
In January 2020, I was lucky enough talk to Ken Levine when he was a guest on the Sirius XM talk show, "The Diner with Lou Simon". It was during that broadcast I found out about his podcast. I have been a fan of M*A*S*H since the 1970s. I've seen every episode mutliple times. So I was very famiiar with the name "Ken Levine" but didn't know who he was or anything about his career in the time before or "After M*A*S*H". I started listening to this podcast in January 2020 and finished listening to all of the 178 episodes released up to that point that June. The scope of the talent, knowledge, and experience that Ken Levine has had in his career is so much more than just as a TV writer. In this podcast's archives you will meet and learn about the people Ken has come in contact with during his multi-faceted career as a: Radio DJ, TV Writer, TV Director, Screen Writer, Baseball Announcer, Sports Talk Show Host, Playwrite, and Author. His interview episodes are treasures woven into the fabric of this fantastic podcast. I learned more about how the entertainment business works than I ever have from one source. I have also picked up some behind the scenes info about shows like Cheers, The Odd Couple, and Fraiser that I didn't know. This podcast has broadened my horizons when it comes to watching any type of entertainment. I know longer watch in a pedestrian way. I now look to peek behind the curtain and find out more about the show, actors, production staff, and history of anything I watch I highly recommend listening to this podcast and all its episodes. You will be educated and inspired by all of them. BTW, If you email Ken, as he promises at the end of every episode, he will write you back. Now, don't hesitate, get listening. And get a pen and paper, you will want to take notes.

Entertaining and Educational
Ken Levine is the perfect host - a former radio pro who knows how to keep a show moving and a talented writer with great insights on the craft and the entertainment industry. This is the best class you never got to take.

Always fascinating podcast
Great insight into what it’s like to be a screenwriter, and what it was like writing for some of the greatest shows on TV.

Look forward to it every week
Honest and insightful—Ken puts a lot of effort/prep into every episode and guest. Nowhere else have I found such illuminating info about comedic writing and the making of sit coms—in addition to his wonderful war stories and guests, who rarely do podcast interviews.

Great Podcast
Wonderfully entertaining podcast. Ken is funny and witty, he does great interviews with people you might otherwise not have heard of. He gives an insiders view of Hollywood and behind the scenes info on some of our favorite tv shows. I listen every week.

Late to the game
Like many others, I found this podcast through Gilbert Gottfried's. I found it on iTunes, and subscribed. It was only recently, though, that I started listening to a couple of recent episodes, got hooked, and now I'm listening to them from the beginning, five or more at a time. Ken is a great raconnteur, and has some wonderful and amazing stories to tell. I'll be sorry when I catch up to the current show, because then I'll have to wait a week between fixes.

You are a great listen. I am about as far from Hollywood as can be here in Massachusetts. Yet, I find your stories/recollections fascinating. My new favorite podcast. Great voice too. Thanks,

Just send Ken Levine money
Listening to KL's play read aloud reminded me how much I miss his voice in comedy. It's also a true delight to hear Ken's experiences retold, too - and at times with an unapologetic edge. It is also really validating to hear his input about the writing process, show business, industry co-workers and just navigating life. Both entertaining and illuminating, I have listened to several episodes more than once. Thank you, sir!

Love the podcast!!
I've known about Ken Levine since his days as the broadcast partner of Jon Miller, then the voice of the Baltimore Orioles, and have been a fan ever since. I have followed his blog for well over a year, and finally started listening to the podcasts on a recent trip when I stuck the iPhone into the car and - lo and behold - the podcast started playing. I was hooked in the first five minutes. The topics are almost always incredibly interesting, and the guests are fun, too. I've learned a lot about the inner workings of "the business", especially the technical stuff. It's a lot of fun, and I look forward to each one.

Heard Ken on Gilbert’s show and enjoyed him so much I immediately subscribed here. Been jumping around binge-listening. Love the insights on some of my favorite shows, and especially appreciate the “watch alongs”. A cool guy who for all he’s done comes off very humble and relatable.

Great podcast by a great writer
I’ve seen Ken Levine’s name on tv shows, and the best tv shows for that matter (I even watched AfterMASH), almost my entire life. I hadn’t heard him until his episode in Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast. What a great find. I now have a lot of catching up to do with this podcast.

I listen to this everyday!
I grew up on Cheers and M*A*S*H and also loved the movie Volunteers so hearing Ken’s insights in television and films is very interesting and extremely entertaining! He is funny and honest and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. I love hearing his stories about his days as a disc jockey and his current gig as an announcer for the Mariners and Dodgers. I look forward to each episode!!!

Highly enjoyable
Ken has worked on some of the greatest sitcoms ever. His stories and interviews offer interesting background and color to the business, always with his great sense of (self-deprecating) humor. The man is one of the greats but remains modest and approachable. Highly recommended!

Ken's career is perfect for this format
Ken's background is so sweeping and remarkable that he has multiple aspects of the field to describe: sitcoms, pilots, plays, radio, sports, travel. Love the entertainment industry insider stuff. Makes my long drives enjoyable.

BLAIR'S RICH
Don’t hate me, I consume more than I share. Longtime listener to your podcast, and from it I have taken much without so much as coughing up a measly star. No more. Your interview with Blair Richwood was spectacular: a masterclass in business and practices -- intelligent, insightful, a privilege to experience on many levels. Thanks so much for all your efforts, for the guests you attract and the stories – more the truths -- you cajole them to share. Much appreciated.

Very Entertaining look at comedy writing and much more
I had a rule that all podcasts with a single host were boring. Ken Levine not just breaks that rule, but smashes through it. Covering everything from baseball play to inside Hollywood, he never fails to bring insight and comedy to the listener.

Loved the el with Nancy Travis
I’m hearing impaired and had been dying to listen to your podcast. I finally got my cochlear implant and I think I’ve binge listened to every single ep in the last couple of weeks. This was my favorite so far. I’m now a huge Nancy Travis fan (she’s really funny) and I’m going to have to watch all of the things you two talked about today. Thanks for a fun ep!
