How could you possibly not ask Hatem Abudayyeh if Hamas bares responsibility for the destruction and deaths in Gaza after he accused Israel of genocide? Also how about a more critical analysis of the Hamas generated death toll that you take as gospel. This was an extremely poor and one sided interview.

I listen while cooking dinner and by the time dinner plates hit the table I feel caught up on the big stories of the day and learn something new - a new person in arts and culture or just a new way of thinking about things. Worth the time 100%

Do not miss out on wonderful interviews by the most highly educated, intelligent and knowledgeable hosts. I have learned so much over many years of listening. The subject matter is always entertaining and informative. It is so important to hear different opinions and perspectives other than your own. Definitely five star rating.

20+ years of listening to this show, it’s always good. I notice all the negative reviews in here are from either gun owners who can’t handle facts and/or racists. So, clearly they’re doing something right if they’re pissing off those groups.

Some news but then also a story that’s more in-depth. Rational, not just breaking news.

This podcast performs mental gymnastics to claim America’s gun industry was built on racism and to help slave owners. Sadly NPR doesn’t just tell history stories anymore, instead everything must fit through their narrow lense focused on race.

Your new program “the gun machine “ is so biased and factually incorrect it is not even funny. Why don’t you just name it we hate guns? You should be ashamed of yourselves. I guess it is true, journalism is truly dead !!!

I love Here and Now (esp. Robin Young!) and have been listening for years. I do not like the new format of the podcast, as it no longer includes the entire show. Why the change? Please bring back the full show!

Its gone from a daily must-listen to absolutely unlistenable in a matter of months. Devastating. But also kind of impressive how quickly they destroyed it. I wouldn’t have even thought it was possible to make a long-standing success such an astonishing failure so quickly.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I don’t want my news “Curated.”

I miss the days when I listened to both of the days’s podcasts on my commute. Now I listen to H&N anytime, and then use my WBUR app to listen to my favorite, shorter sections. Each time a segment finishes, I need to put in my phone’s password and then open the app, close that segment and open a new one. While I’m driving……

Unsubscribing. This curated version is not of my liking. I tried. But I can’t. The stories are the ones I’m not interested in when comparing it to the full program. I also miss Robyn’s stories/interviews. Good bye.

... NPR has changed, and signed up to a highly partisan one-dimensional spreading of the woke gospel, with little to no alternate perspectives on offer. The programming, on a daily basis, has almost become predictable in all the virtue-signaling issues it’s going to hit upon. You can tune into this, Morning Edition, All Things Considered, NPR Politics Podcast, and get the exact same perspective from every one, with no argument or dissent. I guess it’s an age of hyper-partisan media, but the bias here is more apparent than ever. Even though I probably agree with half of it, I expect a good news program to challenge me, and to challenge itself, in reporting from different perspectives. Can’t say that happens much here, it’s all “systemic racism” all the time for NPR’s 85% guilt-ridden white audience.

Podcast format is great. I’m not tied down to my radio. I also enjoy the selection of stories from which to choose. Thanks.

It’s so sad what’s been done to this podcast. I hardly listen to it anymore, though I listened to it every day before they ruined it. It just doesn’t work as a twenty-minute podcast and on the rare occasions when I’m able to catch the show on the radio and can compare it to this truncated version, I realize that the segments selected for the podcast are exactly the ones I’m least interested in.

Well I tried. Gave this new format as much as my time as I could. Mark me as “unfollowing “. Let me know when you are back to the former 2 hour podcast format. Like others, I’m not able to listen live when this broadcasts in MA nor when it is broadcast in my current state.

What happened to my two full daily episodes of H&N? This curated “best of” may be liked by some but It’s not easy to listen to the full 2 hours on demand from WBUR website. No ability to play at 1.5x or 2x speeds. Please bring back 2 full episodes as option on apple podcasts. I’m in withdrawal.

I understgand the motivation for a shorter podcast. But rather than sever most of the program, it might be better to create 2-3 segments so those that missed something could still access it.For example, "Late Night Live - Separate stories podcast" (ABC Radio International) does a great job with the concept. More effort perhaps, but more listeners too. Using the archives is hugely inconvenient, (I have done it). Rather than grab the tidbit from a podcast app, I need to download it, convert it to 'podcast' and finally put it in my queue.

I often can’t listen live and used to wait till evening to hear the show. I need to find a way to “tape” the show and listen later. I miss so many great stories with the new format. Is there any way to subscribe yearly like with the NPR Politics podcast?

In the not too distant past the entire two hour episode was available for the podcast the same day he played on the radio. Now you get two or three of the main stories. It’s honestly not worth your time there’s too many other wonderful programs and podcasts. If they would return to the original format, that would be appreciated.

Miss getting the radio version podcast of the show. Don’t like this edited version. Not sure why they made the switch??

I’m not able to listen to the broadcast of the show during the day and looked forward to listening to the full show every evening. I’m ver disappointed that the podcast was reduced. Bring back the previous format.

I used to listen to here & now every night getting ready for bed, but I also learned so much! The new format is too short and I miss the variety of story content in the longer format. Could you release a condensed version and a longer version?

Why did you make the decision to condense this show? I miss the twice daily podcast. Please bring back the old format. I don’t want to delete this podcast from my feed but I may have too since it doesn’t provide all the news stories I want to hear.

What happened? Instead of the entire episode, with delightful host interaction and the flow of variety, it’s now just a blah curation of the most “important “ stories? And where’s Kathy Gunst? Boo.

Just make a separate pod for the curated version and pls give me back my old show 🙏🏽

It is cumbersome to listen to full show now. Please allow an option via podcast. Or at least explain why you did this? I feel cheated.

I appreciate the hard work that they did to make a new and fresh podcast, but I would preferred if they went back to the way it was before. I really did enjoy that format prior to this change

Pretty much Covid on every episode. Most of the other content is bleeding heart socialism.

Here & Now consistently delivers a substantive, entertaining blend of global news stories. I love the way that inspirational arts spotlights are often woven between current events and science updates. I appreciate the warmth, thoughtfulness, and empathy brought to the show, especially by Tanya Mosley. The podcast is also such a great length— it fits well in my daily rotation.

I'm truly glad you all produce a audio record of this fact-free, narrative-driven drivel. History will be the judge, not I, but for now, i'd rather be anywhere than here...

That episode is all you need to know about NPR. I used to be such a follower and monetary supporter. Nowadays it’s just nauseating. So they finally made an episode as to not mislead people. They’re clearly telling us they are not unbiased journalists. Not that I ever thought they were. They’re telling us they will not report on facts, stats or points of view. They’re just going to tell us how the journalist and the people they pick to feature “feel”. One “expert” in fact said plainly, “there’s no two sides”. Neojournalism, I guess . How deluded of an organization NPR has become. Just do what you’re doing. Fine, but do not call yourselves journalists…I frankly think they should just switch their overall model to “activist organization”. Just physically nauseating.

My favorite npr podcast not counting Fresh Air. (Fresh Air has too many breaks and commercials because it is a radio program, modified to podcast format). Balanced, intriguing, slightly eclectic.
