If you are looking for a terrific listen in the “radio drama” tradition you’ve found it. I listen to them while I work and they are tremendously entertaining tales. The players and GM all do a wonderful job of unfolding their cooperative narrative experience!

How many times will Jason make players cry? How does Stu make me not hate vampire? How will Sam make it weird? At the end of the day this is one of my favorite groups to listen to. I actually removed critical role from my playlist because I liked these guys more. They touch a huge variety of games and allow a huge spectrum of players from all walks to sit and play games together. These people are one of the few things I like in Southern California...

Unedited and not a production, the HJ actual plays are what it's like when a bunch of friends get together and role play. Even the tangents are (usually) fun to listen to.

This actual play offers great stories that players explore from a variety of systems. It also looks a how these systems run if players and GMs are interesting in looking into new options. The players bring a lot of different characters to bear and are great inspiration for home campaigns.

It feels like you are sitting at the table gaming with your friends. No matter what system you are looking for these guys do it and do it well. The campaigns are fun, exciting, and tell a concise story. It’s never over played or dull. Always something interesting happening.

This channel has some of the best actual play podcast around. They have an increasingly diverse cast that they are regularly adding to which means you get the chance to see how different people both run and play games. They don't edit the episodes so it has a the feel of actually listening to people play a game instead of a bunch of actors reading scripts. Overall it's a great AP channel that I'd highly recommend.

This actual play podcast is fantastic. I have gotten to learn about so many new rpg systems and be entertained by so many wonderful stories. I must proclaim a particular fondness anytime Sam @redpandroid and Mac @strangelikethat are involved. Stu @srvenable is my favorite gm. Thank you for all your time and contributions. I can’t wait until we have another GURPS campaign.

The Happy Jacks Actual Play podcasts are overwhelming in many ways. They're always great fun, and since they're unedited it feels like you're there sharing the tabletop experience with them. Since sessions can be long and there are several ongoing campaigns, it may be best to pick one or two and follow just those at first. I'm looking forward to things like Shadowcon and One Shot Saturday getting their own feed as that might make this feed feel a little more manageable.

Listening to this I feel this is more like listening to friends around a table versus a radio show, and that’s a good thing. Their Masks AP got me to try the actual system. Kudos to HJ.

The casting on this feed is really exceptional, with good performances a diverse backgrounds that feel like you just sat down at the table with a group of old friends. The cast is also stable enough than most are on several shows, so you can follow players you like in different scenarios. The games are also varied, with cutting edge systems paired with games that were last published 10 years ago. Rad games, fun times, amazing people... what more could you ask for?

With the volume of games and diverse casts there is something for everyone.

Such a great collection of different systems and fantastic players. Compelling stories with a sprinkle of ridiculously hilarious table talk makes me feel like I’m at the table with them. Highly recommend!

This podcast had some of the best Actual Plays I've heard. There's a great variety in games. They have a large and diverse pool of players and GMs. And a massive backlog.

If you're looking for a huge amount of content, which is both informative and entertaining. The happy jacks crew features a wide variety of players and a wide variety of games, from D&D to Traveller to Savage Worlds to PbtA to home-grown systems such as Moment of Truth. The format also offers good insight to real gaming, both from a player and GM perspective.

Of the many RPG actual play streams out there, Happy Jacks RPG has some of the very best. The audio quality is top notch, and the GM-ing and player-ing is excellent. And I'm not just saying that because I'm in one or two.

Your kids should be named Romulos and Remus. And sense he is now a deity under the internet his domain should be scientific videos or scientific websites. If you're looking for APs to suit just about any taste, you'll find them here. I've recently been binging and re-listening to Revelations (the Demigods playtest), as well as Carefree High (the Monster Hearts AP). However, go back and listen to the original Legend of the Five Rings AP - the storytelling is superb by both Stu as GM and all the players. There are even 5E APs for those diehard d20 fans (you will come to love the running gag "I am no mere hedge mage.") I'm also a fan of the Ten Candles one shot, Masks, and the Spaniard's Ghost. Keep up the awesome work, Happy Jacks crew!

This podcast is excellent! It spans multiple genres and play styles. The Session 0 episodes are especially good. I have learned much to refine my GM and player techniques. I encourage everyone to try it out.

It’s great to have access to all of these great actual plays when I can’t sit down and watch a 4 hour game on YouTube! Perfect for commutes!

I really enjoy the heck out of these aps! They aren't edited or produced sounding, but the audio quality is great. It really feels like a tabletop RPG instead of a radio play. You hear the dice, the hesitation as the GM figures out what their next move will be and the true excitement when the party does something amazing. It feels like you are part of the game. Real gaming and real fun! It's also great to hear such a variety of systems and GMs! They are all amazing but each has their own flavor and techniques that budding GMs can learn from. It's also really great to have gender/racial/cultural/LGBTQ+/etc diversity in the casts and the GMs!

Happyjacks has some of the best woven stories that I've heard in a long time. Even when the players decide that they are going to ignore events, hoping someone else will step up and claim responsibility, the world just continues to progress, and it all comes together seamlessly. If you want good story, you will definitely find it here.

This is one of the few Actual Play podcasts that features quite so much variety of GMs for anything longer than one shots. Though there are audio issues in some of the earlier material, they've cleaned up a lot of that in the more recent campaigns. Sit back, relax, and enjoy whichever is to your liking!

Leaving the recordings unedited adds a level of personal charm to the group. You hear the chips crunching, side conversations, and even wait for the GM to hit the can once in a while. If you prefer your AP podcasts more like Abridged Dramatic Audio, keep looking. If you want to sit back with a virtual group of friends and listen to a gaming session, you found the place. I have enjoyed all the games they have played so far, but Vampire Mote of Sin campaign has been my favorite, even though I would never play the system (not my thing). The roleplay and story hooked me, and continue to entertain. Give them a listen (or even a watch now, as they added video!). Well worth it

I found your actual playing accidently, you were doing your Legend of the 5 Rings Saga of the Inukai story line. Absolutely wonderful play and a joy to listen to. You are now one of 3 I listen too weekly on my long commute to work. I Started a L5R campaign 3rd edition game not to long after listening and it is just winding down, perhaps my most successful campaign after 35 years of running games. Ah enough I am rambling, best AP available thank you again!

Excellent stories, amazing GMs all across the board, and great, great fun. Star Wars Traveler has been my favorite, but I have loved every game so far; keep them coming guys! Also, the new recording room isn't half bad. Background noise is more noticeable, but hearing life in the rooms around you and outside makes me feel at home :3. Some might not dig it, but I like the new setup.

Love that they play a lot of games in different systems so you can actually get a taste of what the various systems have to offer. I've been a fan from the start of this show so check out the Podcast as well if your interested in learning the art of being a GM and a good Player! The Audio Quaility has been great for most of the actual plays but definately listen to the Ghostbusters game from a few years ago as it was amazing!

These APs are high fidelity and hilarious. The L5R one is especially terrific. Don't pass up this opportunity. PS: Stork is amazing.

this actual play is one of the best actual play podcasts I have ever heard. Often done in a recording studio so the sound quality is second to none.

Stu is an excellent DM (Douche Master) and I just wanted to say thank you for all the great podcasts. They really help me get through the work day. I wish there was an actual play episode every week.

After listening to this podcast (and just starting to listen to the Happy Jack's RPG Podcast) and other actual play podcasts, it's clear to me how having a 'mature' (not necessarily old, but experienced) GM and player group can really take the game to the next *level*. ok guys, the ghostbusters game is a few years old, but still amazing. only one episode of the GURPS game so far, so i cant really give too much of an opinion yet. The L5R game is awesome... cant wait for dave to get insta-gibbed in the next episode!

Listened to this show from the beginning and have always been so curious to hear one of their games. Top shelf games. Their ghostbusters episode really is second only to the first film and on par with bobby browns ghostbusters 2 theme song. It's THAT good! In addition to the actual content being great, the audio quality is a definite step up from some of the usual actual play fare. Looking foward to more!

Fantastic! what they lack in knowlege of the setting, or japanese culture for that matter, they more then make up for with there High end sound clerity,somthing other live plays lack, and im looking forward to more!
