Epic Style!
Jamie is a legend in his own right, and this is reflected in his interview style; a little bit loose while improvising and searching for a groove. He allows his guests time to warm up and have in depth conversation. There will be a lot of references that are worth a quick pause and looking up for educational purposes. His intro and outro jams are so good!

Awesome hang out
I listen to a lot of music and music production podcasts and this one is one of my absolute favorites. It’s “insider-y” in the best possible sense as you get to hear the way producers and musicians really talk, think and work. In that sense, it occupies its own special niche in a crowded field of music-related podcasts, a bit like the (now defunct?) First/Last Party on Earth podcast hosted by Tiga, which I also really loved. Jamie is a great host and you can tell how excited he is to meet with all these people. Also, as I’m so an expat Brit (and big prince fan) of a similar age to Jamie, living in the US, listening to this is like checking in with a good friend. Come back soon, Jamie!!

Production Podcast Perfection
So much amazing information, history lessons, and creative ideas in these interviews. Jamie is a great host and the guests are all industry heavyweights in their respective fields. Well done. A must listen for anyone into music production or the creative process. Thank you!

Absolute Gold
New to this podcast and about 20 episodes deep! So interesting to hear the show develop from the beginning. I've been eluded by the perfect source of information, inspiration and mental therapy until now! NITTY GRITTY is really creative and inspirational, and aside from that knowing Jamie has a child and still finds time for his art has given me so much confidence in knowing with an infant at home I can still find time and ways to be creative. Hats off to Jamie, keep em coming! - Doylestown, PA

One of the greats!
Jamie is as passionate as he is charming, and his musical intellect know no bounds. If you are a music creator or have interest in hearing inside perspective from people that are really hustling to make it happen in the modern music industry (both vets and up and comers), this is for you. This one is highly recommend! Check out the Patreon for the much loved "Nitty" sample packs, and early access too!

Therapeutic
I tend to listen to this podcast while in the studio. I’ve been making a habit of carving a a portion of my studio time for “maintenance.” Weather it be organizing, re-patching or you know... the tedious un-fun stuff that can put a damper on the creative process. This podcast helps me through those “maintenance” sessions.

Fun but uneven
Podcasts continue to serve as object lessons that interviewing is a skill that needs to be cultivated and honed. Jamie Lidell is a musical inspiration and gifted producer. But he’s a terrible interviewer. Thankfully the pod succeeds in spite of himself largely due to the deep bench of amazing guests. Less talk and more listening from Jamie would go a long way to making this one of the best music podcasts out there.

Favorite Audio Podcast
I am loving this podcast. Jamie has a knack for finding the exact people who fascinate me most in the musicverse. Favorite episodes have been Shawn Everett, Susan Rogers, John Congleton and Greg Wells. The Nitty Gritty segment is also pure gold. The inventiveness that Jamie brings to each episode is mind blowing. I always learn a new perspective on generating or modifying sound. Really just can’t say enough good things.

Jamie Lidell is an incredible talent, and each of these episodes is insanely rich with technical tips, creative experiments, new music to discover, and insightful conversations with other music makers. 10/10.

My favorite podcast
Absolutely love this show and always look forward to new episodes! Only Critique I would mention is that I would love to hear more of the guests talking. Sometimes Jamie talks a good amount more than his guests.

Great, entertaining insights, but Jamie, please:
This pod and its premise are great, although the name may be a little misleading. It’s more like “Hanging Out with Producers and DJs and Occasionally Engineers.” There’s so much to love about this podcast, but geez, Jamie, stop steamrolling your guests. Relatable side stories are a natural part of conversation, but yours are not only too frequent or long, but they are often at the expense of your guests just opening up to an interesting story, and your interjection turns into an off-the-rails interruption. You can hear the defeat in the guest, and their story gets lost. If you set them up for a story, listen (and let us listen) instead of taking the opportunity to tell your own story. And we want to hear your stories! Just not at the expense of your guests’ stories. Let them finish, then share your relatable story. “Yeah, I like to ramble” is becoming a tired excuse for regular interruption. Again, this is an awesome podcast, but sometimes the spotlight isn’t aimed quite right. Thanks for a great show.

We Need More Jamie
Deep electronic production insights... honest personal conversations... humor, wit, quirk... a bridge between classic styles, gear and techniques and modern methods... Just the right amount of chaos. I love this podcast.

My favorite pod
Fantastic pod for anyone into audio. Jamie was a very important part of a pivotal moment in my musical development, and he’s yet again changing the way I think about creating music. His goofy personality when he has too much coffee, and lets us know lol, and his humble nature when discussing some of the lesser sides of the industry are very refreshing to see in someone who I view as having so much success yet still stays grounded. THE NITTY GRITTIES COULD THEIR OWN PODCAST! I hope whoever the intern becomes, they can help illustrate the nitty gritties on a YouTube series or something. I know that’s asking for a lot! And I’ll take what I can get, which has been so much so far! Anyways, I’m super glad he’s doing this and look forward to every pod, and maybe a new album soon! Love, Jordan Esker (your future client, most likely)

Many nuggets of wisdom and inspiration!
I’d been aware of this podcast for a few months but never checked it out. I just listened to the first couple episodes, and I am blown away! Such an amazing collection of inspiring producers and artists. The first segment is technically minded, and shows us how deep the rabbit hole can go for some people, and in the interview Jaime asks all of the questions that I would’ve loved to have asked these people if I’d been talking to them. I’ve been throwing this podcast on in the morning before my writing and recording sessions, and it gets me in right headspace. It’s a great reminder where the benchmark lies for those of us who are aspiring to some form of greatness in this music thing. Keep it coming! Matt

EXCELLENT
I'm somewhat of a newb when it comes to the art of recording/mixing, but I love listening to these conversations, especially when they start to get nerdy. If there's something Jaime and his guests are talking about that I'm unfamiliar with, I write it down and look it up later. It's really been a great learning tool for me. Anyway, Jaime's passion for music and recording really translates well. Keep it up the good work! PS- I was stupid excited when you got the Nakamichi!

Entertaining chap talks to other entertainers
Jaime interviews various musicians, producers, music business associates. He also does a brief tech segment. As a lover of music I really appreciate him taking the time and making the effort to do this. As a musician and producer it’s fantastic he covers ground that is not covered in other podcasts of this ilk. He tends to ask the questions of his subjects that go beyond their back story and delve into their creative process. If your a gear head you’ll love it. If you aren’t your still guaranteed and informative and entertaining time as well.

Great stuff!!
Such a great podcast, let’s me geek out in all ways musical. Jamie Lidell is a great musician, and it’s great hearing his thoughts on production and not to mention these conversations with amazing guests. The nitty gritty is definitely the icing on the cake.

Great!
I find this podcast is a joy to listen to. It fills a void that I have felt existed since I started listening to podcasts. It's great to have a show that doesn't dumb itself down. There's some real depth for people wanting to dig into the nitty-gritty, but it also doesn't seem like it would alienate the layperson. Plenty in there for all listeners, I think.

This guy can talk!
Really enjoyed Jaime’s era dight in literate description of music and it’s underpinnings. For a songwriter and instrumentalist such as myself, I find it very engaging. Keep it up man!

Essential listening for producers
Jamie is perfect for podcasting! I usually can't stand gear talk, but thanks to his personality and approach, it's undeniably nerdy yet never too dry or overbearing. The tone is also a great balance between technical and theoretical discussion.
