Nice Guy but
Always liked the pod and while it was football/Niner focused when John was still here at least they touched other topic. Now it’s just a Niners pod and the dynamic is gone. Very sad. Hope we will see more takes on other topics vs just the same Niners stuff everyday

Hey Guy ✌️
Great show! Very level headed takes, which is refreshing. Digging the new guests that are coming on. Question for the audience: Which is better for your wallet, when we listen (Apple, Spotify, etc.) or when we watch on YouTube? Want to make sure we’re optimizing your monetization. Peace!
Bleep Blorp!
Guy’s voice
is still better than Kyle’s game management.

Nebraska Football QB play
Hey Guy, got a Nebraska football question for you. Last year the QB play was brutal, half decent play gets us back to a bowl. We now have Dylan Raiola, a 5 star. Is it fair to expect him to be better than decent right away? It’s been a while since we’ve been good, I really hope he is the real deal. -Patrick

Excellent show!
Big time fan! Excellent and thoughtful content! My question for the mailbag is ; I’m in the camp of Brock Purdy is a good QB but is he a franchise building QB? Can they Pay him big time money and draft around him to win a superbowl? Based on what we have seen so far I’m not sure.

Rice to replace Jennings?
First off, love the pod, always my first listen. Question, Brendan Rice isn't the typical deep threat type WR, thoughts on drafting him to replace Jennings, assuming he's gone after this upcoming season. Thanks.

Optimism
Great show as always, Guy. Listening in Italy. There’s nothing wrong with the Lance trade and upcoming Vikings trade IF you get the right guy. If Lance had worked out, it wouldn’t have mattered if they traded 2 extra picks. Nobody cares about the draft compensation if the guy is really good. Big Bears fan, can’t wait to see Caleb. Bears roster is far superior to that of teams who normally have the first overall pick. Keep up the great work Vince Naples, Italy

McCarthy “Receipts”
Sad to see it’s not the HAM pod anymore, but ecstatic to see where this GUY can take us!😎🖖 You had mentioned being a McCarthy doubter a few times. Also, you encouraged the loyal fan base to “check the tape.” I sent ya some podcast/youtube Time Stamped “McCarthy receipts” to the PromocodeHAM email, but I realize now that might not have been the best delivery method. I tried reaching out via X(Twitter) and Instagram as well, but I am new to the social media game. I wouldn’t be surprised if my attempts to connect resembled spam. Hopefully this message finds you well. I can happily send the “receipts” again, as I always keep copies 🤣😎🖖 Keep up the great work! Thank you! FarscapeForever

The best
Both Guy and John are refreshing with their takes. My first listen for 49ers content.

Fantastic
My go-to was the Better Rivals but that road unfortunately came to an end after the 2021 season. I’ve bounced around, but for my money this is the best around followed by 49ers Talk with Matt Maiocco. All the others lack quite a bit and are much like listening to drunks at the local sports bar. Guy is the man!

Sorenson/Staley Hires
Hey guys! Been listening to the pod for a while. I love the content you put out. Regarding the Sorensen/Staley hires, I think it gets weird only if the 49ers make it weird. If Kyle clearly defines their roles, I think it could be very successful. Staley obviously couldn’t handle the pressure of being a head coach, but I’ve read a lot of comments about people who have worked with him that say he is extremely intelligent. My guess is one of his more prominent roles is just going to be in the lab with game film, a big whiteboard, and dry erase markers helping Kyle see possible holes and weaknesses in the offensive game plan. I think he’ll also be there as a resource for Sorensen should he need it or desire it. But I think Sorensen should be fully empowered as the DC, and make that decision only if he wants to. Your thoughts?

The Guy Haberman Show
John and Guy keep it so real and tell it how it is, with knowledge and experience to back it up. It’s my go to podcast/show for Bay Area sports talk. Update 2024- Middlekauff spends the majority of his time on other podcasts but Haberman has been holding down the pod and puts out great content basically daily between the YouTube channel and podcast feed. Insightful, thoughtful and not just a bunch of hot takes to get clicks. Also goes the extra mile and takes impromptu trips to Vegas to get extra content for the show.

There go home tonight in there 20 million dollar estate and be fine! I refuse to switch teams. So I’m just done and wanted to say thank you I really enjoyed you guys.

HAM The True Podcast G.O.A.T’s
What’s up HAM! These guys are legends, know how to keep it real and give true and honest takes on niners… I want to know if you two were in the NFL, what position do you think you are most suited to play, and what would your skill set be? Favorite bar, Trailer Park After Dark in San Diego

Yo, quickly want to just say love this podcast I live in the bay anymore. Currently in Chapel Hill North Carolina (Tar Heel basketball season ticket holder) (if y’all ever want to go to a game) but you guys remind me at home and I love the discussion. Quick question now and this might’ve been asked before, but what’s your thoughts on keeping Aiyuk and dealing Debo? I mean I know Debo is a stud, but Purdy and Brandon have chemistry.

Good show
You guys have a good show but need to put your ads in better. You guys always have them during a great conversation, and it throws off the flow of the pod. I will adjust my rating once you fix your ads

Elite content
I’m 25 and I started listening to you guys about 5 years ago. I’ve learned a lot from you guys, about sports and life, so thank you. Question: Can you guys do a 1 round draft of the 32 head coaches. NOT by their coaching ability/prowess, but as if they had to play a position in the NFL. Feel free to answer the question however you’d like for the sake of content. Thanks
Amazing❤💚💛💙💜
Great content and product
John and Guy are very both very knowledgeable and know their stuff. They provide an unbiased opinion and tell it how they see it. This is a must listen podcast as it’s great content and they make it fun and entertaining.

Question for the mailbag
Thoughts on the pac-12 going into its last year as is and about its future? Also why is john absent from a bunch of stuff??? I just started watching again this summer
C.C. Cortez
If you want objective, intelligent 49ers analysis…
….avoid this pod like the plague. Guy is a standup fella, insightful and balanced. Middlekauf is a prat, a wannabe Cowherd who has a single agenda: himself. Constantly talks about ‘war daddies’ but you wouldn’t want to be in a foxhole with this bloke, you’d get a bayonet in the back. Total joke and an unserious person
Pagan74
Why is John a jerk to Trey?
I gave you a 4 star because John is such a jerk to Trey. Be critical of Trey…fine, but I swear John gets all warm and fuzzy inside when he rips on Trey. It isn’t necessary. Be better, John…be critical without being a jerk. Otherwise…great show.

Love the content
I love how you guys cover the niners, I’ll see a few hot takes in 49er land but I know once you guys put out an episode I’ll hear what really happened. I feel it’s unbiased and fair which I love, and it’s hard as an east coast fan who doesn’t have the means to go to training camp, I feel like I was there! Question for the mailbag: I know all the qb injuries are different, but since 2019 it seems we have catastrophic qb injuries almost every year. I know the theory was Jimmy g is made of glass, but it’s more than just him (Nick Mullens, Trey Lance, Brock Purdy). This is my long way of asking, is there something the 49ers are doing that’s different to other teams in the league? I’m a scared fan hoping we can have one qb last all season….

In a land far away
Question for the pod
I’m sure y’all have brought this up at some point, but say Purdy could be available for week 1, would Kyle secretly want Purdy to miss a game or 2 so that Lance could have a more opportunity in games that count to prove himself? That’s assuming he beats out Darnold. I’ll hang up and listen

Epic podcast, love the banter, topics, and takes from these two. Keep up the great work! And my question is: What is your favorite sports event you have each attended? Thanks!

Mailbag / comment
Great pod…loved the take on bob Myers doing a podcast on season. Epic. Question…do you think Kyle and John have the green light to kittle and TEU? Seems like something belichick would shut down. I like the content but maybe a little too much sharing of trade secrets while being an active player??? Thoughts? Did you listen to his interview on PMT??
kenny_t84
Old high school buddies????
I hate to admit this, but listen to this pod long enough and you’ll come away questioning whether you attended high school alongside Guy and John…. it’s that level of comfortability! Niners question, what player in their prime from the 90’s to the early 2000’s do you wish we had our same modern-day social media access & transparency/approved personal invasiveness to? Dark hours I’m picking Kevin Gogan or Tom Rathman “Talk amongst yourselves… discuss”

The War Daddies of 49ers podcast
49ers fan living in Chicago and came across you guys about a year and a half ago, and been a avid fan of you guys ever since, love the content(especially John’s rants about the Raiders 😂) quick question, say none of the guys on the roster are the Franchise QB, if you guys were Jed, would you trust Kyle and John to make the next QB decision or would you bring someone else in to make that decision?

Mailbag Question
First off, NDSU fan turned fan of you guys, not a 49ers guy but will listen to you guys talk about pretty much anything else. Keep killing it. Curious what you guys think Koepka’s PGA win does to golf landscape with Ryder Cup coming up, etc., more majors than Rory now, wild. Thanks guys

Mailbag Question
Hey guys 49er fan here, love the pod. Live in the Bay Area but didn’t know about y’all since I mostly listen to KNBR. Found you through Cowherd and I appreciate the local focus. Keep up the good work! Now all of this stuff about Lance is coming out, about how his throwing motion was screwed up (causing him fatigue), and that his technique was bad before he allegedly fixed it this offseason. Does this reflect poorly on the niners scouting department/Kyle? If he had bad technique, how did they miss that and draft him #3 overall? If something has to be fixed in his 3rd offseason, instead of the 1st doesn’t that make the team look like they don’t know what they are doing? Thanks!

They’re Fine
Haberman is great, I think he does a very solid job of remaining unbiased. He seems much more polished in this field than his counterpart, Middlekauff. Middlekauff is very much so the “ehh” part of this podcast. He’s emotional, petty, and completely out of touch with business. I can respect somebody working on their craft but he’s much too self righteous for my taste. For somebody who claims to be an advocate for entrepreneurship, he takes things way too personally. Haberman should consider splitting from this guy. Definitely holding him back.

John needs to stick to football.
Been listening for many years and love the pod. But my god your guys’ basketball takes are unbearable, more so John than Guy. Imagine not counting the Bubble year, but counting the Warriors championship against Lebron and lil Matthew dellavedova. Never mind the fact that they were the #1 before the shut down and just had huge wins against Clippers and Bucks. Then Giannis hurts his knee and Lebron was going to win the MVP. Then the bubble happens and they lose home court advantage and all momentum they had. And they were one of the few teams that voted to leave the bubble. But nahhh doesn’t count, get a grip.

Promo code HAM!
Very entertaining and great insight on the nfl, keep up the great work. Question for the mailbag: With the Patriots reportedly unhappy with Mac Jones, and the 49ers iffy on Lance, could you see the two being traded for one another given Kyle’s obvious interest in wanting to draft Jones in the first place?

5 star mailbag question
Fellas, thanks for the content - Guy has always said he wants the money on the leaderboard at the end of a golf tournament so we know what guys are battling for when they are putting for 3rd or 4th etc. It got me thinking watching the masters what technological advances in sports watching could we not do without now? I’ll start - no way I could watch golf without the trackman trail on the golf ball.

Question
Isn’t Jake Hanner just a Taylor Heinicke with a slightly stronger arm? Athletic can move in the pocket. A “gun slinger” willing to take risks.
thebestwhoeverdidit
Favorite podcast.
Question for the mailbag: It’s coming up to that time of year when sports podcasting content gets a little lean and I find myself having to turn to regular radio broadcasts for something to listen to at work. But they can be kind of a pain to listen too because they can be very “hot-takey” and they are basically forced to talk themselves in circles just to fill a 3 hour time-slot. And sometimes the teases before break make me cringe so bad I feel like I’m getting a migraine. You guys having come from radio and now in the podcast world, are their any radio programs new or old that you wish were in the podcast game instead?

Great podcast
Did you see the JT O Sullivan video about Kyle? Pretty harsh but made some great points you have touched on previously. P.S. go mustangs!

Best Niner Show and Objective Opinions But…
One critique is you guys have the worst adjectives for injuries. Not every injury is a “shattered leg” or “shattered ankle”. To shatter literally means the bone burst into a million pieces. Lance’s ankle was dislocated. Far different than shattering a bone. As someone who’s torn both ACL’s, proper injury description is important for athletes. Get better with the injuries.

Fun Hosts = Great Show
I live in DC and was glad to discovery this show (on Apple Podcasts and YouTube) as a source for news about the 49ers. Individually, Guy and John have good takes. Collectively, their vibe is great. If you enjoy Jacko and Joe House on the Bill Simmons Podcast, you'll like the interplay of these two knowledgable friends. Now, here's a question: Am I crazy to see parallels between the 49ers picking Trey Lance third overall in April 2021 and the decision of the Warriors six months earlier, in November 2020, to take James Wiseman with the second overall pick? Here's what I see: 1) two great athletes with limited college experience (Wiseman played in three college games; Trey had seasons of 2, 16, and 1 games, for 19 total); 2) two pandemic drafts that restricted scouting and limited information; 3) two organizations with win-now timelines and schemes that made the head coaches reluctant to trust talented but inexperienced players, 4) two young pros who flashed upside but were also inconsistent and injured; and 5) two rookie deals that put pressure on the teams to make decisons about the future. At the time of his trade, James Wiseman's contract was up after the following season (2023-24) and he was eligible for an extension after the current one. Likewise, Trey Lance's contract is also ticking. He is entering the third year of a four-year deal; his fifth-year option expires on May 1, 2024; and he is extension-eligible after the upcoming season. So, like the Warriors, the 49ers may decide to move on from their pick sooner rather than later. If/when Trey is dealt, it should not come as a surpise. After all, it increasingly seems that reports about the team's initial interst in Mac Jones were true, Trey has yet to win the starting position, and the 49ers do not seem to believe a mobile QB is necessary to elevate their offense. Actions speak louder than words, so check out the trio of QBs targeted by the 49ers with Trey on the roster: Brock Purdy (drafted), Big Ben (courted), and Sam Darnold (signed). Trey and those three guys have different skill sets. If the 49ers were truly committed to building around a mobile QB, however, they'd seek a backup with similar skills. That's what other smart teams have done, such as the Eagles (Jalen Hurts-Marcus Mariota) and Ravens (Lamar Jackson-Tyler Huntly). TL;DR: This is one of my favorite podcasts and I'll be listening when Trey Lance is traded.
