An amazing weekly podcast
From 40k to AoS and everything in between, Paul with his in depth knowledge of the meta and tournament play, Adam with his intense tactic and rule dives, Tanya with her “filthy casual perspective, (fantastic and great) as well as Red with his Narrative focus and love, this cast is just an awesome weekly dive into the games we all love. Highly recommend.

Smorgasbord of 40k Podcasts
I never get tired of the enthusiasm for the game brought by Forge the Narrative. They tackle plenty of topics other podcasts don’t and cover what everyone’s talking about with unique and sometimes unexpected perspectives. A balanced smorgasbord of hobby and gaming and meta-hobby discussion fills your podcast appetites and the hosts have charming rapport.

Great all ‘round Warhammer podcast
What can I say other than FTN is one of my favourite podcasts to listen to. Every week Paul and his cohosts bring new & entertaining topics to the table and they are a joy to listen to in the car, at work, or while painting Blood Angels 😊

A Great Mix of Hobby and Competitive News from Games Workshop’s Range
A mix of competitive and hobby enthusiasts look at the latest releases and competitive prognostication from GW’s most popular games. As a slow and plodding painter, I currently only play Kill Team, and I’m very pleased by the attention the crew has paid to the skirmish game in recent episodes. A great listen for any Warhammer enthusiasts trying to keep up with the meta or live vicariously though the hosts as they tackle their grey plastic.

Great Listen
Been listening for years. Paul does a great job covering a wide range of current 40K subjects and always brings his best. Always a very positive show even when criticizing issues.

Get different “co-hosts”
The show can be OK, but he really needs to drop Tanya Gates as a co-host and stop asking “Red” (?) real-world military questions and trying to relate them to 40K. Tanya is a newer hobbyist who brings nothing to the conversations. Unclear why she’s an (evidently) permanent co-host. And they go on waaayyy too many rabbit trails that lead nowhere and are uninteresting. And the host’s Blood Angel fan boi antics are just annoying.

Positive 40K
This is the podcast that I started listening to in order to help me start learning the game. While a number of other podcasts have come and gone in that time and many of them slip into a negative perspective, this one has always stayed positive. What really separates Forge the Narrative from most other 40k podcasts, is that it brings in experts in each area of the Hobby who give great advice on their area of expertise, but honestly ask good genuine questions about areas they don't know so well. Then they combine that with solid production quality.

Pretty Good
This is a solid podcast with Paul and his revolving cast of hosts.

One of my favorites
I can easily listen to Paul, Red, Adam, and Tanya for hours. (I actually do with my line of work) The way they clearly break down the information helps me visualize the situation or rule being discussed, along with the particular situations in which you might find that being used or played. It’s all relevant and great parallels to real world events keep me engaged. I highlight a few episodes each time and I’ll listen to them over and over again. Amazing show overall! More stars are warranted in my opinion.

Yes, I will have the drink menu.
I could listen to Red and Adam discuss historical battles, tactics, and their correlation to 40K forever. Two Fonz thumbs way up.

Great show
Been listening for quite awhile, love the show, but I think you all missed a vital aspect of core: narrative grouping on the board. Ballistarii and Dragoons are free range chickens and being core shackled them to a castle because of efficiencies. Thunderwollf Cavalry get core despite being elite, rare units (in lore) because they can ride around with a Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf and benefit from the aura; same for Sanguinary Guard and Blood Angel jump pack characters. Why do so many marine units get core? Because there’s a character that makes sense to go along with them. Castle? Captains/Lts with 24” range bolters. Outriders? Primaris Chaplain on Bike. Vanguard Veterans? Firstborn with jump packs. Any unit without core is most likely that way because there’s no core-aura character in the codex that narratively fits babysitting that unit. It’s not a perfect application and there’s hits-and-misses, but it’s definitely part of “does this get core?” logic.

Can’t take the ads
Latest episode featured an ad “break” which turned into a ten plus minute “discussion” regarding their latest sponsor. Turned it off after ten minutes when they basically derailed the entire show.

Spectacular
Hands down, this is my favorite 40k podcast. Vanguard tactics (which I found through this channel) is a close second, but this has everything you would want. Talking about painting, gaming, the community and so much more. Everyone featured seems to be having so much fun while also being informative. Also, they post weekly and in time!!

Fun and informative
Great podcast with a nice balance of opinions on the different aspects of the game. It is more competition focused, but enough hobby and lore emphasis to keep it well rounded. Also appreciated is the emphasis on running a tight podcast that consistently runs at about an hour...some folks like the 3-hour marathon format, but I don’t have time to listen to those.

Fun for the whole family
A great 40K podcast that is informative, positive, and entertaining. I’m not a competitive player but I enjoy the analysis of the most efficient choices and ever changing meta. The hosts love 40K, love the community, and have an infectious enthusiasm for everything Warhammer. The inclusion of Tanya as a cohost is so deeply appreciated and my 3 young daughters love hearing a woman’s voice and opinions on a 40K podcast. I can’t overstate what a meaningful step that is and how much we value Tanya’s voice. Keep up the great work!

Great podcast but...miss some of the old voices
I love this podcast but to be honest I kind of miss the old staff. I like the focus on competitive, but I miss the non seriousness of the previous set of guests. Red and Adam know their stuff don’t get me wrong, it’s just that, sometimes, frankly it can be kind of boring. Maybe a mix would be good, still have learned plenty and will keep listening. Golden standard
When it comes to competitive 40k entertainment these guys kill it every time ! The quality of this podcast is top notch ! The back and forth between all the guys on the podcast makes for entertaining and educational content when it comes to how to play / play a better 40k game. I love the tactics overviews and the finishing moves are great too!! Keep up the great work !

Awesome show. One of my favorites to listen to. Greatly informative and fun as well. The occasional Star Wars rants are totally fine with me and encouraged! I’d like to hear your guy’s opinions on the Raven Guard lore as they’re my favorite chapter. Keep it up dudebros!

Balanced conversation
Hey Paul and Ricky, love the show. However, lately one guest has dominated the talk time, more balance please.

Solid Warhammer 40k discussion
Love the show. it has a casual style that is mellow, like having a chat about your recent gaming experiences and hobby progress with old friends

Why call it forge the narrative
I thought this podcast would be about narrative wargaming. Instead it was about forging the cheesiest meta list.

One of the best
In the top tier of 40k podcasts, makes my work day far more enjoyable. Dark angels are indeed better than blood angels

TPM herds cats and keeps it real.
With hobby tips at the end of every episode and competitive and narrative talk in the middle TPM keeps the show balanced for all levels of hobbiest. Enjoyable show.

A narrative decades in the forge...
Ignore all episodes before May 2018- this has become one of the top five miniature gaming podcasts available and is well worth the time to listen to! Especially great to listen to while painting with Athonian Cammoshade.

Good quality, but could use more structure
Overall, this is one of the higher-quality 40k podcasts. There are no issues with sound. The pace is find and most of the guests are enjoyable to listen to. However, the majority of episodes seem to lack a clear structure. They mostly consist of Paul (the host) ranting about the new hotness/teasers/or whatever he has on his mind, rotating from one subtopic to the next, while the guests comment on each as quickly as they can before Paul rolls on to the next thing he clearly wants to talk about. Further troubling, is the clear hesistance to say anything remotely negative about products or rules for Warhammer, even regarding the particularly baffling decisions GW rolls out sometimes. If I had to guess, I'd say Paul receives products in exchange for the promotion he drums up for Games Workshop. Regardless of the origin of this policy, it really cuts down any candid conversation that can take place. Compare this to other quality WH Podcasts, like Honest Wargamer or Frontline Gaming, where having a bit of fun mocking GW's mishaps is common ground. I'll add that the interviews are usually the best part by far of any pod that includes one and I'd love to hear more. With the interviewee leading the conversation somewhat, Paul's weaknesses in maintaining a direction are averted.

Talent
In the sea of 40k podcasts I always come back to FtN as a stable rock. My thirst for competitive coverage is quenched while it being a broad category podcast. Audio is professional, competent format and quality hosting. Good choice of guests. To the point while still feeling intimate. I do not support the endorsement of Buffalo Wild Wings though. I’d rather eat dog vomit. ❤️

4 score and 7 pod casts ago
Four score and 7 podcasts ago we had gen 1 podcasts. Then came the four horsemen of Kirby killing off many. From the apocalypse and ever dark burning darkness of cammoragh, the epicenter00 of tzenetch change came. Not forging a narrative but the star child and c’tan brought forth the new generation of competitive but accessible podcasts. Thanks for all you do.

Great and very accessible 40k podcast!
I’m at a stage of life with little kids that I don’t get to play very often, and I’m more of a hobby focused, mildly competitive gamer than a tournament master, but this podcast breaks it down so that it’s easy to understand what is changing in the game right now and what I should think about when writing my next list. Sometimes I need to learn lessons the hard way, like don’t bring drop pods against Genestealer Cult, or just don’t bring drop pods at all in 8th, but from this show I get to learn from other people’s gaming experiences that I could never get on my own and learn how to think about playing the game and building lists in the current meta so that when I do get that rare opportunity to play, my Blood Angels with IG allies do as well as they can with my limited skills.

One of my favorite 40k podcasts!
I don’t play 40k competitively but Paul and his varied cohosts still have me eager every week for the latest previews, reviews and reflections. I appreciate an accessible way to stay caught up with a game that keeps changing. Thanks!

The best!
Just listening on the house’s iPad for the first time. But might as well leave you guys another 5 star review, thanks for making a working man’s work week go buy just a bit quicker. Cheers.

Why I love this show
I have been playing 40k since 2010, mostly for the hobby aspect of it (painting, kit bashing, conversions). It was only until I started looking up battle reports on YouTube that I stumbled onto FTN (and later the podcast). This podcast got me into trying out new products and competing in tournaments. I also enjoy listening to the podcast on my way to work and while hobbying. I would say my favorite part of the show is the player spotlight and hobby segment. Please keep this podcast going for as long as you can. You never know whose life you will influence. Thank you! -Dennis

Listener question
I play GK and Tau. I’ve played Tau for most of the last year, and did well, and now despite Tau going up in the meta, I just feel like playing GK, even at NOVA. Am I burnt out on Tau, or am I just being 40k hipster and chasing best in faction for something obscure?
Sir_Prometheus.
Great 40k content!
Highly accessible podcast for any 40k enthusiast. Includes plenty of info on competitive play but also hobby tips and ideas for list building. Paul is a great host, mixing in plenty of commentary and non-Warhammer references! This podcast is ALMOST as great as Athonian camoshade!

Positive atmosphere with positive people
I’ve been listening to FTN for at least two years now and they are one of my favorite 40k podcast out there. While I am not a competitive player I enjoy learning the strategies from the competitive side. As well, I feel they are by far one of the most positive podcast out there. Even when a unit isn’t good, they work to find it in another light. Please keep up the great work guys!

Top Tier Podcast
Once(ish) a week, I am treated to a masterpiece of information and entertainment about something I enjoy. It’s 2019, and in all honesty, since I began listening to podcasts 4 years ago, I’ve heard more Forge the Narrative than anything else. Yes, Paul Murphy and Company record, produce and distribute information almost weekly. But I began listening when there wasn’t really “weekly” GW news. Even then, TPM and Co. managed to deliver an incredible experience, blending multiple elements of this game and the surrounding properties into one cohesive whole. I’m thankful to be in a world where people can do more than share common interests in isolated groups; and am beyond grateful to the ever evolving and incredibly knowledgeable cast of FTN for bringing the entire world of Warhammer to my phone. You dudes rock.
