Octavia Butler Left Out
How was the great Octavia Butler left out of a series on 31 women science fiction writers?? She was a legend!!

Wonderful
I recently found this podcast and am very impressed. The show provides short (roughly five minutes) episodes on a variety of women, including historical, legendary, and mythological. Although brief, episodes can provide illuminating anecdotes, such as the miracle performed by Catherine of Siena after her death involving rose petals. Highly recommended. Suggestions for future episodes: cult founder Joanna Southcott and abolitionist and pioneer Mary Ann Day Brown.

A great starting point! Thank you!
As a history teacher of middle schoolers, I am grateful for this resource! The students of all backgrounds are using this to get glimpses of their fore-mothers. Many are choosing to dig deeper into the subjects as part of their research projects. Thank you!!

Very interesting—Fewer ads please
I’ve learned a lot and think it’s a great endeavor but almost half of every episode is ads.

Easter
So it’s technically the month of Easter and my birthday...Womanica highlights achievements of women in history. This is such a fun gathering, in my honest opinion. I see myself listening to "Womanica" on an Easter Sunday with a glass of wine or on my birthday while I am taking a bath, dealing with the reality of aging as a women of color-particularly.👏🏾

Great Bite Sized Pieces of Women's History
I came across this podcast looking for something about Angelina Weld Grimke. I love how brief yet in depth the episode was. Looking forward to listening to more.

Where the ladies at?
Please, use correct grammar. My HS English students want to sound mature. Cringe worthy language. Thanks, Dr. GC Interesting podcast to highlight amazing women. Thanks, Dr. GC Guest podcaster is difficult to understand. Used to enjoy your podcasts. Very educational and fun. Please make sure your guest speakers can actually speak English. Dr. GC

Disappointed in minor inaccuracies
I was excited to hear a quick episode about Maud Gonne but there were several inaccuracies, the largest being when she referred to the IRA as the Irish Revolutionary Army. Im also disappointed that she did not even bother to learn how to pronounce Irish words in Irish. I stopped listening 5 minutes in and won’t come back for another episode.

Great for winding down after a long day!
I listen to this as I am taking an afternoon nap before the kiddos get home or as I’m getting ready for bed. Super calming and a great listen!

Great for my morning coffee!

Great for showers
I listen to this podcast while I shower because it’s the perfect length of time to keep me punctual. However, as an East Tennessean I was so disappointed to hear Jenny mispronounc “Vol” (correctly pronounced with a short o) as “Vole” for an entire episode (Pat Summit episode). 😅

Great show
Enjoyable vignettes about women, some you knew going in and lots you probably didn’t. Note: The episode about Suzanne Voilquin cuts off halfway through, but Google can find you details to finish out her story :)

Excellent
I just started listening to this podcast and it’s excellent. The short format makes the episodes digestible, and I love learning about women throughout history :)

Quality has gone down
I used to love this podcast but whoever has been narrating recently sounds like they couldn’t care less about the woman and like a computer is just reading a script. Will likely unsubscribe if this continues. Can’t recommend this podcast in its current form.

Important Podcast
Thank you Wonder Media Network for bringing awareness to the work of countless women who have shaped the world. This podcast is informative, well-researched and produced, and I learn something new with each listen. Thank you, too, for bringing awareness to your North American listeners about activists like Berta Caceres. Using the words of Maya Angelou, she was "an extraordinary representative of the human race."

Short, sweet, inspiring
I love to listen to these in the morning so I can start my day with some inspiration. Your commitment to gender AND racial diversity and inclusion is very clear, and I appreciate being introduced me to so many women and non-gender-conforming individuals that I never learned about in my history books. Thank you for your hard work!

Must listen!
Fascinating podcast featuring amazing women who, sometimes overlooked, were incredible pioneers that were vital to accomplishing US goals and paving the way for future Americans, economically, socially and politically. Host(s) are exceptionally smart and well-informed, delivering information in a fun, concise way. Highly recommend!

Great
I learnt a lot from it. Lovely idea and I love that the episodes are short which makes it easy to listen throughout the day. I loved that she knows her material and it shows how hard she worked to perfect the content. I was amazed by the way “Al Khansaa” was pronounced and I truly appreciate when a non-Arab learns the correct pronunciation of names. Well done.

Informative podcast, one descriptor I would like you to consider changing
Very informative and I have learned a lot. I like the short and to the point narrative, that makes it easy to binge listen. I respectfully ask you to consider changing suicide as being described as “committing suicide” to “died by suicide”. Suicide is usually, if not always, an action by a person in despair. “Committed” is a judgmental descriptor and has illegal and immoral connotations for a tragedy that is usually the result of mental illness. As a person who had a family member die by suicide, using “committed” is painful to hear and fosters misunderstanding. Thank you for your consideration, and thank you for a great podcast! Respectfully, Jody

Thank god this show exists!
I wish I’d had this as a resource all through school. So thoughtfully done and imaginatively produced.

Finally women’s stories being told!
One of my common rants is that women have contributed to every part of society since the beginning of time, but our stories are minimized, forgotten or erased. I love this podcast because it highlights so many women from so many places in the world, times in history and areas of civilization. I also love it because it doesn’t just cram a few well known stories into March, but tell them all year round. Thanks for making this!!!

Learn how to pronounce the women’s names!
The latest one (Xue Susu) is especially egregious. It’s not Shu-ay, it’s Xue1. All one word. There’s no doubt in mind that these episodes are well researched but each time I hear her say “Shu-ay,” it distracts from the narrative and all I can think is “she couldn’t take five minutes to teach herself basic pinyin?”

Not Bad
I like this podcast a lot. But they do repeat some people.
DoctorRex4100
Short and sweet
People are way to harsh in their reviews of this podcast. It’s not intended to go in depth or be grammatically perfect. There are SO MANY great women throughout history- many of whom I would never have known about without this podcast. It’s also great for the younger generation of women. A lengthy, in depth discussion would not hold hold the attention of my young daughters but this is the perfect amount of time. Thanks!

Lacks Inclusivity
There are myriad women of trans experience that this podcast has neglected to talk about. Many of the feminists that have been covered would be ashamed of this fact.
