I like it
Just started listening during the 60th specials. I like it. There is a little too much repeated bashing of the previous tennant/Tate/rtd era for my taste, but that’s a matter of personal vibe. I get criticism! But I’ve had to start utilizing the skip button when the same negative takes I’ve heard over the past 15 years are needlessly retread. But while I search for the elusive dw podcast that doesn’t bring me down, I will return to this one 😂. I love hearing the ladies

The Verities are back like they never left!!!
My Verities, how I’ve missed you! This is the best Doctor Who podcast out there, back from its hiatus with delightful renewed energy and passion. It’s clear that the hiatus did you a world of good. I’m so glad you took time for yourselves—and that you came back in time for the 60th. Verity! has been my constant companion since I rejoined the Doctor Who fandom with the casting of Jodie Whittaker in 2017. Since then, the podcast has held my hand as I waded into online fandom, Classic Who, and conventions, all for the first time. There’s no podcast I’d recommend more to Who fans new and old. Here’s to the next era of Verity!!!

No news - only hypotheticals?!
This is not the place to go for up to date Doctor Who news. They record them months in advance and out of order, so they weirdly never discuss current events like showrunner or Doctor changes. It’s mostly hypothetical middle school discussions like “which companion would you most want to marry?”. Half the time the discussion is about how recording is a burden on them, too, like they don’t want to be there?

I love this show
Great sound quality, enthusiastic hosts, and they love Doctor Who without being gatekeepers about it. You can listen to this if you’re a longtime fan or a newbie.

I love this podcast!!!
I am new to listening to podcasts (I don’t really know where I’ve been-hiding under a rock?) I started looking for Doctor Who because I am a huge fan and so this one came up. I tried out several and listen to others too, but there are only two I listen to regularly and this is one. Things I like - the positivity and kindness - the variety of views - the happy things segment - the entire female cast Keep it up!! ❤️

Yeah Episode 222!!!
Erika brought me over from Lazy Doctor Who and Steven’s Radio Free Skaro. A Doctor Who fan since watching as a high schooler in early 80’s on PBS in Chicago. Thank you for what you all do. Blessings to all of you.

It’s like talking about Doctor Who with your friends
I discovered this podcast a few years ago at the Doctor Who convention Gallifrey One and I started listening as a way to fill the Doctor Who void between cons. It’s refreshing to hear a group of women talking about and analyzing something I love with respect for each other’s opinions (with the occasional teasing). You can tell they always come away learning something from each other and at times it challenges my opinions too. Thank you for paving the way for more diversity in fandom!

Could Be A 5 Star Podcast
This is a podcast I like for a number of reasons. Immersive and intricate, it examines subjects I have not heard discussed elsewhere in Doctor Who fandom, plus its voice varies from one episode to the next, meaning it isn't always the same group of individuals, thereby preventing predictability. I’ve listened to more than a dozen episodes of Doctor Who: Verity! which is to say I’m not one to review a podcast after experiencing just an episode or two. I’m also not one to name names because I don’t want my remarks to be taken as personal criticism of an individual, so without getting too specific, in the most general terms I can find, please let me convey what I don't like about this podcast... At times, one voice (in this group) has a tendency to be the final word on whatever the group is discussing, all but declaring a hive mind verdict or view on a given subject when clearly others in the group think differently. This rattles me as a podcast listener in the same way I am rattled as a viewer of TV news, when the moment a press conference ends a ‘reporter’ begins telling me what I just witnessed. I don't need a commentator to translate facts. I can 'digitally rewind' a podcast in whole or in part to replay bits I may not understand on the 1st, 2nd or 13th playing. What's even more perplexing is when a commentator inaccurately reiterates what others have said. At the conclusion of each episode listeners are encouraged to submit feedback so as to expand the conversation, however I can not recall a single instance where listener feedback was either read into or played into the 12 or 13 episodes I’ve listened to. As much as I would like to continue hearing more of this podcast I have decided to give it a rest. I firmly believe Doctor Who: Verity! could be a 5 star podcast, however my ranking places it in the middle ground at 3 stars.

Verity! rocks
The six women, from three continents, bring diverse viewpoints and lively discussion that is always positive and upbeat. This is my favorite Dr Who podcast, tied with Radio Free Skaro, because they are so smart and so funny. Highly recommended.

Deb - unimpressive over time
Sounds intelligent at first but then her tone of voice and condescension becomes wearisome.

Favorite Doctor Who Podcast
This is my favorite Doctor Who podcast. They cover both classic and new Who; it is well organized with interesting, planned discussions from intelligent, thoughtful women; and they provide a wide range of opinions. I look forward to it every week!

I Couldn’t Agree More!
Thank you Verity! I’m a newcomer to this podcast but since the start of series 11, I’ve been in search of more Doctor Who content to hold me over between episodes. Your in-depth discussions on the Doctor, her friends, and the themes of each episode are brilliant and refreshing. I’ve caught up on all your recent podcasts. My opinions on the new season definitely align with many of yours which makes me feel so validated about how successful this new series has been so far and how much I love it!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your favorite tidbits in the world of Doctor Who, and your love for this show. I cannot wait for this week’s episode!!

Started good, ended bad
I started with listening to a few random episodes of seasons 7 and 8. Initial thoughts were quite positive but they didn't last. The host for the most part became unbearable, with her ridiculous opinions during episode "killing the Moon" being my breaking point. They also whined about the "lesbian trope" of killing lesbian characters during "The name of the Doctor". One lesbian character could be killed in a shows entire run and these kinds of people would declare it to be atrocious. With all this said, this is probably the best Doctor Who podcast when you consider that Doctor Who Fans will whine about almost anything.

New listener
I’m a new listener to the podcast, but I’m not new to the Dr Who series. Having said that I’m so glad I found this podcast in time for the 13th Doctor debut. I am absolutely loving the commentary here, as well as the new season. Thank you ladies!

Love the diversity opinions
I've been meaning to leave a review for years, so here goes. They are funny and clever, but mostly they are kind. Not sappy kind, but they will all find the nicest way possible to say they don't like something, and are really good at being funny without sounds like it. Look forward to it every week.

The best Doctor Who Podcast companion
Love this podcast. The panel is fantastic and respectful of each others options. It’s refreshing to hear women's perspectives and discussions on the delights and challenges this amazing television series brings us each season. Keep up the great work, ladies! Allons-y!

An Excellent Doctor Who Podcast
I’m an avid Doctor Who fan who listens to several DW centric podcasts and Verity sets the standard for excellence. I discover interesting information and learn something new in each podcast. They mix in-depth character/theme analysis with humor and aren’t afraid to voice opposing thoughts on topics. I love, love Liz’s commentary and Deb’s brilliant skill as a moderator! And, the accents are delightful. Verity Lambert would be proud to have their podcast as her namesake. Keep the great content coming Verity!

A surprisingly sexist podcast?
I started listening to the podcast and I was able to listen for a couple months with no problems. However whenever series 10 came around I really started to feel disconnected. It has a lot of hate on Moffat and how he is sexist, racist, and homophobic. I am a white straight male so I probably don't have a right to say their opinions are wrong. I just don't like that every podcast they attack any male involved in the show. However they are really smart in some aspects.

An absolutely essential Doctor Who podcast
This show's remit--to provide a venue for women discussing Doctor Who and highlighting the contributions of women to the fandom--is commendable and would make this podcast worth checking out on its own. But even if we were to set that aside and evaluate the podcast on the merits of the discussions themselves, it would still be a gem among the massive throng of Doctor Who podcasts. I love how different the perspectives are and the podcast is well moderated and produced to make sure all of their voices are heard. It's become better over time as the co-hosts have gotten to know one another better and some of them have come out of their shells. All in all, one of the best shows on my phone.

Fabulous Fan Femme Fatales
Okay, apologies for the alliteration, and they ain't just fans, they are each massive contributors to the world of Dr Whodom. This podcast is a lovely place to park my Dr Who love and hear some great perspectives on the Whoverse. It's a true pleasure!

Varied, Fun, and Intelligent Discussion
This podcast is an absolute joy to listen to. Even if you don't agree with every speaker all the time since they have up to 6 women on the show at once, there's probably at least one view or argument that you can get behind. And they all get along well and it's fun listening to people who clearly enjoy one another's company discussing something they all love. The discussion covers literally everything and the descriptions are really extensive so if you don't want to listen to it you'll know in advance. Also because they all have different views and opinions on Who you rarely fall into times where things get ranty there's always someone to step in and say "actually I liked that thing and here's a really well thought out and coherent reason as to why". Absolutely wonderful podcast, love listening to these ladies talk about Who.

Amazing podcast!
This podcast is truly as their description describes: the six women contributors are smart and opinionated, but also funny, insightful, and honest. They offer a great mix of newer and long-time fans, viewpoints from several different countries, and a wide diversity in opinions. The rotating cast, yearly theme, and wide variety of topics keeps the podcast different and interesting every week. They also perfectly walk the line between having constructive critical discussions (while always remaining friendly with one another) and being wholly positive about DW. The beginning section "what is making us happy in the world of DW" is a a highlight of the podcast; it not only keeps the show positive, but also introduces the listener to a huge variety of interesting things to be found in the DW fandom, from recent news to new merchandise to favorite fan works. It also has a great mix of both new and classic Who and is accessible to new or old fans alike. Finally, it has great audio quality and is very easy to listen to. I cannot recommend Verity! enough and wish all of the podcasts I listen to could be as smart, interesting, and fun as this one!

Love it!
It's nice to hear people talk about something they love in a positive way. You know, like they actually do love it instead of loving to hate it. Even when the Verity! crew is critical it never moves into cynicism. Good stuff. Thanks ladies!

Brilliantly constructed!
A clever and intelligent Whocast! Insightfully fresh perspectives on the Whoniverse that will invariably make you squee. The ladies are thought provoking and respectful (even Liz, mostly). This should be one of the top three Whocasts on iTunes.

Love this podcast
A set of brilliant, witty & amazingly knowledgable women. This is by far the best way to filter Doctor Who imho whether you're a new, old or in between fan, and whatever your gender. But note to young men - if you're reading this, these are the sort of women you want to get to know and impress. It would behoove you to learn a bit about them. Pay attention.

My Doctor Who Oasis
I'm extremely new to Doctor Who and was in search of a Podcast to hear others discuss my new fandom love. After a while my search for intelligent discussion turned into a parody of Goldilocks and Three Bears! Some were just too negative while others were just too ... vapid. Verity is just right. I sighed in relief and joy while listening to every single show discussion on Series 8. You’re providing a tremendous service for those of us in the lost tribe of Who newbies. Long may you wave!

Intelligent Thoughtful Discussion
Intelligent Thoughtful Discussion. I love the diversiy of opinions. This podcast has never devolved into simply a "they should have done it like this"-fest that many podcasts tend to lean towards. At one point or another I have vehemently agreed or disagreed with each of the podcasters, and they would probably say the same about each other, but that mutual respect and commradare in this shared love is really a breath of fresh air. Give a couple episodes a listen as the regular cast and topics can change up, you might like one episode better than another. I have listened to other Doctor Who Podcasts, but this is the only one that I keep coming back to and listen to regularly. Fantastic!

My Favorite Doctor Who Podcast
There’s a DW podcast out there for every type of fan, and Verify is most definitely my podcast. The women have intelligent discussions about aspects of the show I didn’t even realize I wasn’t thinking about and so increase my enjoyment of the show. And, more importantly for me, when they dislike something about the show, they don’t get angry and belligerent and start complaining about how this isn’t the show they grew up with. Instead, they clearly explain their point of view while telegraphing their love and enjoyment for DW. What more could I ask for?

It's great but for one thing.
I'm so sorry, Verity. I've listened for this entire last series of Doctor Who hoping I would get used to her but it's just not happening! I'm sure Liz is a lovely person generally and I hate to criticize her because it would hurt my feelings if I read that someone stopped listening to a podcast because I was unpleasant but I need to explain why I can't listen anymore. You'll never know there's a problem if people don't speak up! Liz drives me batty. She bullies the other hosts and is condescending, rude and talks over people. I don't know if it's just my bias but I swear the other hosts dislike her! There is just so much tension when she speaks that it's intensely uncomfortable to listen. I gave it a real shot, all - but I won't be subscribed anymore.

Verity! Wormhole...yes, that's a thing and it's a thing you should embrace.
Thanks to a friend, I recently fell into the Verity! wormhole and I aboslutely adore this podcast and the women behind it. Not only is it refreshing to get an all female persepctive on everything Whovian, but it is also great to get six people who came into Who in a variety of ways, have different backgrounds, and offer diverging opinions. When I listen, I can completely agree with one person's position in one episode and disagree with them the next. And, where I do disagree, listening to their debates makes me think more critically about (and sometimes reassess) my own opinions, which in turn increases my enjoyment of Doctor Who. I highly recommend Verity! for those who want a podcast to which they can shout "yes, that--she is so right!" but also want to be challenged to analyze what they do and don't love about the Whoniverse. Finally, one last plug. If, like me, you are someone who came to Who through the new series and are somewhere in the journey of watching Classic Who or really trying to dive deeper into the full 50 years of fandom in any way (e.g., audios, books, conventions, etc.), the podcast also serves as a cheerleader pushing you to embrace the greater world of Who. At the same time, there are no passive aggressive undertones of "you're not fan enough unless...X, Y, Z" that might ostracize listeners who are primarily familiar with New Who. Rather, the tone is more of a "you need to watch the Troughton era because it will improve your life," which, aside from being a true statement, is a message of encouragement and not a passing of judgment on your "fan status."

My Favorite Doctor Who Podcast!
Verity is my favorite Doctor Who podcast! It’s always full of interesting, lively & knowledgable discussions between a rotating group of women that bring different perspectives to the Doctor Who community discussions that I don’t find anywhere else. I also always enjoy their opening, “What’s making you happy in Doctor Who this week” segment. The sound quality/editing on this podcast sounds professional, and it always comes out on time. Definitely check out this fantastic Doctor Who podcast!

Mostly Like it!
I rather enjoy this podcast as they tend to talk about things I don’t consider as a long time fan of Doctor Who. I just watch the show and enjoy it but they take notes and talk about things they like (and don’t) about episodes. As another person mentioned, Liz tends to take over the conversation sometimes and though they’re joking about it, tends to think everything’s about the flirty nature of the Doctor and companion. That is really the only thing that drives me a little crazy, almost to the point of turning it off but Deb is somehow able to rein her in. This is one of the few Doctor Who podcasts I’ve been able to stick with (I listen to a lot of different podcasts) so it’s well worth a listen for newbies and classic series fans.

This is a great podcast. The host are very knowledgeable about the show, past and present. I listen to this show while driving, which is quite dangerous because I laugh at every attempt at humor that Liz makes. She is hilarious.
