Thank you
Melissa, I genuinely appreciate your openness and your vulnerability on the highly sensitive topic pf racism. I happen to be a black woman married to a White male. I have an ‘inside story’ in some respects and my husband and I share perspectives and have grown together on this topic. White people are often terrify to do what you did but what you did us exactly what mentally and emotionally mature black people want white people to do. By sharing and talking, we give feedback and we learn and we grow!! And that’s how we become anti-racists which if we all become, will lead to some beautiful relationships in life.

Podcast excellence
I’ve enjoyed and learned from every episode that I have listened to. Melissa has introduced me to several interesting and instructive people who I now follow on other platforms. I’ve never done Whole 30, but believe Melissa does a lot of important and authentic work that I get great benefit from her sharing.

Awesome podcast!
Melissa, host of the Do The Thing podcast, highlights all aspects of health, wellness and more in this can’t miss podcast! The host and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone that listens!

Racist
I don’t care to be lectured by an admitted racist. I like the Whole30 and lifestyle stuff, but the politics are cringey.

Super layout and so informative
I find the layout of the podcast to have a very comfortable flow. They are always so informative yet easy for me to follow! Love them!

Keep your political views to yourself
If you want to alienate half your audience, keep talking politics. I don’t want to hear about your white shame or your political view. You’re a dietician, so stick to talking about what you actually know something about.

Relevant
I’m new to this podcast but keep coming back for another episode. The information Melissa shares is relevant to me and her delivery is thoughtful and useful. Thank you Melissa.

Informative and worth multiple listens!
Melissa has helped me learn about so many different things; I greatly appreciate her vulnerability and honesty. I listen to some episodes multiple times, which is maybe the highest compliment I can give! Would recommend. <3

Woke and narcissistic
Melissa tried too hard to be on trend with every flavor of the month progressive agenda. She’s insincere and seems to always wear the identity of who she thinks her audience wants to see instead of who she actually is, whoever that is.

So great. I love to listen to it on my daily walks.

One of my favorites!
I absolutely love this podcast! I often send them to people I know. She’s raw and honest about everything. The topics she speaks about are so relevant to life and give me a great perspective on things. And how to accomplish hard things in life with a kindness and hard edge I like.

Don’t need the political opinions
It would be great if she could stick to whole 30 related commentary...I really don’t care what her political views are.

On the trails again
I just wanted to say thank you for your hiking episodes. Thanks to them, I decided to give hiking a try again after many years. I live close to the Laurel Highlands in Pennsylvania and there are so many beautiful trails to try. I went on my first real hike on Sunday and it was great!! I’d love more hiking episodes if you ever feel so inclined. PS I think your podcast is getting better as it goes along. I tried it a while back before and didn’t stick around, but I really enjoy listening now after the second chance. Keep doing the great work:)!! Jess from Pittsburgh

Feeling It All
I love this podcast and was so sad when Melissa had to take a break (though 100% understood). As a behavior analyst, so many of these episodes have hints to the science of behavior. Melissa is a rockstar in discussing hard topics in a way that anyone could understand and relate. Although MU is known for Whole30, this podcast is so 👏🏻much👏🏻more👏🏻 Turn up the volume and learn something!

Where’s the genuine curiosity?
I appreciate the amount of work that likely goes into selecting the topics - which are great! - procuring the guests, and editing/curating these podcasts. Also, I’m frustrated by the lack of genuine curiosity on the part of the host toward those guests. Rather than letting the guests convey their expertise and do most of the talking, the host seems more concerned with conveying her own experiences and asking ‘perfect’ questions. The topics are interesting and relevant, and I want to like this podcast. Also, I’m taking a break from it and might return to it in the future.

Thank You!
I enjoy listening to Do The Thing podcast. Melissa does an amazing job with the conversation she has with her guests. If I can take one thing from each episode, it is worth my time. Thank you for the hard work that goes into making this podcast.s

Melissa is so arrogant
I used to love Melissa. Her honesty and confidence mixed with earnestness made her seem approachable. Now she just seems arrogant. Her tough love “drinking your coffee IS NOT HARD” narrative is so tired and out of touch. She’s a rich, White woman who tries so hard to speak to women by calling on her street cred earned from an addiction she kicked two decades ago. Her whole life is taking cold showers and exercising with her hot boyfriend. really like some of her guests, but she needs to come back down to Earth.

Great podcast!
I love this podcast! My favorite episode is Habit Level: Atomic with James Clear. I sent it to everyone I know and included it in my “Top 5 favorite self improvement podcasts” blog post on my blog, mindfuljeannie.com. Thanks for putting all of this out there, Melissa!

Genuine heartfelt camaraderie
I listen to Melissa on my morning run and her podcast never fails to give me a little boost in spirit and drive for the day. Her voice is genuine and her topics advocate for humanity from the most heartfelt standpoint. I feel like I’m part of the conversation while listening to the podcast. So grateful for her boldness and the risk she takes in speaking up about some topics a lot of us want to hear about but are too afraid to put ourselves out there.

Loved every single episode
Every episode is so informative and I learn so much that the time flies. I don’t know which one is my favorite. All the ones I had listened too inspired me to keep learning more and gave me tools to better my life and myself in a lot of different aspects of my life. Thank you Melissa Urban 🙏🏼

Thank you!
I like the concept of this episode “how I bomb proofed my self confidence”. I want to give this a go, but not clear on a few things perhaps because I’m a list person and would love some more info on what it looked it when you did the self review exercise. Did you do a list with columns or just paragraph style?
Christa😊
Love this.
Totally real information and a variety of content. none of the lame over talking on top of guest. Your podcast is gold and I get super excited when I see new episodes. Thank you thank you thank you!

I thought I wouldn’t like but I’m a FAN!
When this show first launched I thought to myself there’s another podcast! I had no interest in listening but then there was a first I was interested and ended up listen to the whole series in a day. I really enjoy the topics they select and I like that they provide ways to practice what they are teaching and resources.

My sister sent me the "Going to Chruch" episode and I've never related more. I loved it.

A refreshing and informative "mind food" for being your best version!
Looking to change up my normal podcasts, I came across "Do the Thing" while I was on a recent trip. First of all, thank you for what you do, how you say it, and the true honesty and inspiration in all your various topics. Literally, it was just what I needed to hear. I've been binging on these what I'm calling "mind foods aka podcasts" ...."Going to Church" and "Habit Level Atomic with James Clear". Wow! Thank you so much for what you do...and keep Doing The Thing!

A woke show
Weird that Melissa (she/her) does not appear to understand that her (see?) tendentious pronoun signaling is tediously redundant

Just great all around!
I enjoy when she has guests on the show who offer opinions and viewpoints unlike my own. I strive to be a well-rounded person and though I may not agree with it all, I can respect the perspectives. Nedra and James are awesome!

So much more than Whole30
Currently my favorite podcast. I get so much out of each episode and some I have listened to twice. Recently, The aHow Not to Drink episode was great! I wish I had this wisdom 3 years ago when a dry January turned into a lifestyle! Highly recommend Melissa Urban!

Inspiring
Even if you’re not into the Whole30 there’s so much here to inspire and inform. I sure do like Melissa Urban and she’s bringing in fantastic guests. Highly recommend the conversation with Jessamyn Stanley in particular.

Tough Love with Compassion
I can’t get enough of this! It is just the straight forward motivation I need to make the little changes that add up to a bigger improvement. The content is always helpful if you are interested in making changes in your life to better yourself in this crazy little world we all share. I did my first whole 30 in 2016 and I am so glad I did the thing! I’m still struggling to get to where I want to be but listening to Melissa’s podcast is both a reminder that I am getting there and a push to keep climbing. Keep them coming!

Transparent and honest
I love how Melissa is super straight to the point and doesn’t hide what’s convenient for her. I want to get to her mindset and appreciation of her body someday. ❤️❤️

Grateful for a Thoughtful and Thought Provoking Podcast
“Do The Thing” hits it out of the ball park. Thank you Melissa and Team for all the interesting and relevant conversations. Take a listen to get your daily inspiration, but not in a shallow way like, “just try a little harder and it’ll all work out” inspiration. There are few creators as thoughtful and educated as Urban who actually practice what they preach. If you’re not in the mood to critically think about what or why you think the way you do, move on to another podcast. This is for motivated people who want to grow in every area of their life.

Social Media Cheat Sheet
Just listened to the Making Social Media a Happy Place episode. Everyone can benefit from hearing Melissa’s experiences and recommendations she’s developed from them. It’s like a amazing cheat sheet for using social media in a healthy way!

So many helpful insights!
Just listened to the episode “How I Bomb-Proofed My Self Confidence” and holy cow what a game changer. I’m very into self help and self growth, but have never heard about doing a self review before. Already from listening having major ah-has about my appearance and need for external validation. Deciding for myself what feels true sounds like such a relief! Thank you for sharing things that have worked for you and for always being vulnerable and real.

Forced
I don’t know why listening to this made me feel so uncomfortable. She sounds so scripted and forced, like someone trying to sound “authentic”. I can’t connect with all the corny ads too. Was looking forward to this podcast. I’ll check back later :-/

My favorite!
This is my absolutely favorite podcast! Melissa is to the point and inspiring and every single podcast is a very relevant and I love the current topics she chooses to cover (like appropriation vs appreciation). I love how authentic she is, even saying how she has to re-record her first episode because she wasn’t quite there yet. So many podcasts go on and on with lots of wasted fillers and every sentence Melissa puts out has high value! KEEP THEM COMING PLEASE!!!❤️❤️❤️

A Little Too Preachy
Did not appreciate two lectures on cultural appropriation and one on white privilege. Thought it was supposed to be a motivational podcast. Feel the sensitivity lectures defeat the purpose.

Very Real!
So I’m new to Melissa’s podcast and I have enjoyed the topics discussed. I can respect and value others opinions but I just wanted to comment on the fact that someone would state that cultural appropriation is the “dumbest” thing. As a minority myself not born in the United States this issue is very real! I think it is important to educate yourself about the matter and understand what the definition of cultural appropriation is and how it can be disrespectful to others. Melissa I think you did a great job with regard to the topic and I enjoyed your guest!

Not good
I’m love your podcast but the cultural appreciation was the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. When I’m making tacos tonight I will laugh at how dumb it was again. Quit trying to be so politically correct it’s annoying. Your hardly perfect so the preaching was degrading.
